Sorry if I seemed a little pushy. I just wanted to see what to expect in the future. I love this game and it's so in depth. May I make a suggestion? I'd like to see a randomizer. While I like to create my own character, it might be fun to see what I could do with a completely randomly generated avatar.

Isn't that what taking the chaotic transformation options do, provided you take a male start? Although, equally, a randomiser equivalent, just as an out of character, out of world tool, for female starts might be nifty, as an aside.

Hmm...I've only tried it once, and it kept my hair and eye color. It definitely kept the traits that I had checked off. I usually go in with a certain character in mind, so I haven't given it much thought until now. When I suggested a randomization feature, I was thinking the game picks everything for you, from race and hair color to personality to traits like "Hair Trigger" or "Hard to Please."

In 0.3.4 I've seen the "take a dance lesson" event increase your dance skill, but not produce any text. In addition, this means it doesn't consume money or the free dance lesson ticket.

Also, I got the text "You feel pleasure mounting in your lower belly, and you realise that you're about to have your first orgasm from sex as a woman right here up against this wall. " even with a female start and also after having had sex in the bathrooms at the club.

Enjoying this tons!

You can make friends. If someone is a good candidate for one, you will have "befriend someone" in weekend activity when planning week.

Hello everyone!

The 0.3.6 version of Newlife has been released and it can be downloaded from patreon by early-access patrons. Version 0.3.5 has been made public and can be downloaded from the blog. Patrons who aren't at the early-access level can get the patron version of 0.3.5 from patreon - I've changed the access level on that post to "all patrons" so you can get the cheat options.

The blog post with the changelog is here.

I'll get onto answering forum posts tomorrow - right now I'm a bit too sleep deprived to write coherently!

Have fun with the new version :)

May a stranded soul suggest a thing? :3

...what about a panel with "What's in upcoming news"? In that way the crowds know what to expect in next updates and the hype/excitement of the awaiting keeps things up...

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a good week. It's sizzlingly hot over here in the UK - apparently this is the hottest summer since 2006.

The 'chaos' character creation choice produces a female character that's almost entirely not based on your male character at all – I think it's just your work experience and the feminine/unfeminine starting options that are kept .

kvier Wrote:In 0.3.4 I've seen the "take a dance lesson" event increase your dance skill, but not produce any text.

That's intentional. Sometimes the dance class scene won't trigger – that means you just have a normal lesson where nothing special happens. This means there's still a chance for other events to trigger for that time-slot, and hopefully makes the dance scenes less repetitive for characters who want to practice a lot.

kvier Wrote:In addition, this means it doesn't consume money or the free dance lesson ticket.

Actually, it does cost money, but it's free if you have the ticket. However, the ticket only gets used up if the scene triggers.
That's technically a bug, but I can't think of a way to fix it that wouldn't be annoyingly complicated, so I'll just leave it as is for now. Just assume that the teacher forgets to take your ticket in those lessons.

kvier Wrote:Also, I got the text "You feel pleasure mounting in your lower belly, and you realise that you're about to have your first orgasm from sex as a woman right here up against this wall. " even with a female start and also after having had sex in the bathrooms at the club.

Did you have an orgasm when you had sex that time? The “first orgasm from sex” text checks your “orgasms from sex” stat which should increase if you climax during a full sex scene. Makeout orgasms don't count.
As for female starts, I guess for now it just means you didn't have a satisfying sex life back before. I think I have a note somewhere to look into this and see if there's a good way of putting in an exemption for non-virgin female-start characters with traits like hair trigger.

Thanks :)

Yes. You need them to like you at least a bit, and if you don't have low self esteem then you need to like them in return. In recent versions the liking threshold is fairly low but you might still have trouble if your character is particularly hard to get along with.

Haha, well, I'm not sure that'd work too well with Newlife because I imagine people would be upset if I put something on the list because I'm working on it, but then take it off when I realise it needs more work to be released. Doggy-style's been delayed twice now, so I bet people would be fuming!

If I waited until changes were finished, then you usually wouldn't see anything interesting on the list until a day or two before the release – I usually work on all the major changes in parallel, swapping onto whichever one I feel most motivated about on a particular day.

I probably should make more blog posts between releases though, to keep people informed about what I'm doing and show off screenshots from testing.

One question, the answer to which I might have just missed:
What does Stress actually DO?

Sides, does getting mugged raise stress?
Only thing I can say for sure is it lowers money.

I made an account just to give feedback on your game because I absolutely love it so far! The only thing that stood out to me (sorry if this was already mentioned) was that there was no oral options given to the player (cunnilingus), I found that really odd lol. Besides that I love love love. Played repeatedly for about 4+ hours straight. Can't wait for more development of this game~! (kind of reminds me of Kudos a bit too, I loved those games growing up)
