For someone who claims to favor logic, this statement alone is naive and illogical. 'War is wrong' is also an emotional response, not a logical one. A logical thinking person approaches an issue from multiple angles, setting aside their personal thinking and biases to understand the objective better. In doing so they understand that in some circumstances, war is the only answer. Because there are groups out there that can't be reasoned with, don't want to be reasoned, dismisses any logic, reasoning and wisdom bestowed upon and remains too focused on their own ideals to be openminded to other outcomes. That can be said about political parties, terrorist groups and even Hundens, just to name a few.
Again, you obviously know very little about military versus contractors. As someone who knows people who deal in such contracts, those two groups are completely different, from the ground up. To them, killing is business and a lot who join up find they enjoy the business. Only around 15-20% of active duty servicemen, if that, see combat every year. The rest do every day jobs like the average working class person. They're doctors, chefs, religious leaders, data specialists, etc. And all these people are still heroes because they stepped up and served so that other people have the freedom to call them contract killers, even those in allied nations.
Man, Hunden. I would love to live in a world where we can sit down and rationally discuss things together in a civil manner and end things like war and world hunger and make sunshine and rainbows all day long. But that's nott he reality we live in. A logical thinking person would realize that, as a species, we are far from the maturity level needed to be able to sit down and settle things peacefully. Sure individuals can do that and it happens all the time, but less so for governments and political parties.
Now, to your previous response. Killing in general is wrong, I agree, but as I said before, sometimes you have to take one life in order to save ten more lives. And you don't have to blindly follow orders to be a good soldier, a model soldier. But in order to be a good leader, you have to start by first learning to follow and learn from your peers in order to embody their strengths, overcome their weaknesses and become a better leader overall.
My feelings weren't hurt, I'm made of thicker brass than that. But insulting our servicemen and calling them murderers and killers without knowing a damn thing about their lives and what they go through is a surefire way to crack the brass and get punched in the face. I'm passionate about few things in my life but honoring our armed forces and emergency responders is one of them.
And before when I was saying 'you' I was speaking generally, meaning 'you, people' and not just 'you, Hunden'. But in this response I used them interchangeably.
Now do yourself, this thread, and community, a favor. Unless you come back to continue on with your game, don't post again. That would be the most logical thing to do.
Again, I apologize for derailing this thread and continuing on this discussion. I'll take my own advice and butt out for a bit.
