I think deathreaper summed it up pretty well, I'm surprise no actual flaming was done! All jokes aside, what deathreaper said is more or less on the spot in regard to FPTP voting system. Its flaws and pitfalls simply don't apply when it's outside "fixed amount of vote per individual system" as the current system caters specifically to donors with unlimited vote (only limited by their monetary contribution). A proportional representative or similar system would indeed be better IF it was "fixed amount of vote per individual" as academia and intellectuals alike have been pushing for that in our country.
I actually like Bomb's idea of weighted value tied to work-required the best out of all combined with the current system.
1) It's more fair in term of "wage", although his work is technically free, the donation is what help keeps him motivated, helps with the limited server cost (assuming he got a basic package) and keep him out of any financial difficulty that can arise and be forced to terminate the project (and it has happened before, there's at least 4 examples of this on the english forums). It's more of a commission system, which I personally like and support as it's literally "you get what you paid for", in addition to getting the free updates Bomb already provides.
2) Donors get to adjust Bomb's priority according to the amount they donated so to speak. It's not that much different from crowdsourcing and be given a specific tier for X amount of donation. Donated amount would never be "wasted" on the donor side since the amount stay on that specific creature, which will remain on the priority list.
Even though everything will get added "eventually", it can range from 1 month to 2 years (assuming he keeps it that long!) or even longer. In almost all cases, the non-vital priority list will be a constant reminder (out of sight, out of mind, literally when you've to deal with any big projects, thank FSM for sticky notes!)
3) It gives incentives for people with some specific fetish a chance that would otherwise never appear in the game. For example, let say someone want a chimera with a lionhead, body of a kangaroo with a pheasant tail and seal flippers (I hope I didn't offend anyone with this example if this is your fetish >.<). If this individual is willing to plop a nice juicy... say $500 on the spot with a weighted value of 20hours of work, it would benefit others in the long run. Reason being that the money will help the game, the other donors that would otherwise "win" that round would just have to wait one more month (the benefit of a non-decay priority/voting system), it helps with keeping Bomb's site and motivation going. The more someone work on something, they naturally get better/more efficient at it. And who knows, we might also get something out of the blue that would otherwise never exist and might end up being next big fetish (like certain fetishes that originated in japan).
