You can skip most of the tutorial by simply walking out of the room when the tutorial displays the flashing "J" key.

It is possible to immediately get the armor above the starting point with some careful jumps.

There are two ways to find HP restoring items.
1) Try attacking the walls at dead-ends. Like the original Castlevania, many dead-ends have chicken hidden in them. (LOL video game logic)
2) If you successfully taunt an enemy and molest them, there's a chance they'll drop a HP potion.

Healing items get added to your inventory. Open the menu to use them.

If you don't like the controls, you can change them in the menu.

Unlike the original game, you do not have to hold UP to use sub-weapons. They have their own button.

Press UP at save-points to save the game.
