In the Jail area, you can walk through the back wall of the cell and fall into oblivion. Endless fall.

I think there's nothing wrong with loads of characters :D I love the constant ability to customise new characters every time i play...

A few character requests of my own would be th Nymphs from Rayman Origins, a sister of battle from the Warhammer 40k universe and and resident evil characters...

ps - can't wait to see how the new levels develop.

##Update: April 12th.
--Added: heaps of stuff you won't see, new platforming map (treetops->mountain), + knockdown and door framework.
--Changes: major performance boosts in some areas, still crap in others. (I know, right?)

--Notes: test the knockdown on the newest map!


sorry about the lack up updates, I've had a few surprise guests trying to peek over my shoulders while I'm trying to code.. creepy 'nuff?

have fun with the rock on the new map, I'll add some sounds to it some time.

and I'm trying to build up to the mountaintop pirate base (..space ship? I've got some research to do..) for the next update.
.. so, I guess it's time to look up some classic metroid maps..

Its on the far right side of the "Play Test Levels" page but u have to open it in full screen (Save then open) to be able to see it.

When you come out of the cave, you have to jump on the trees and then you can jump to the left on the mountain. From there you should find the way yourself.

That it did, that it did. Very good game too.

Onto the new map, took me a little bit to find it but very nicely done, looks great! I like the Space Pirates littered here and there. The rock...hahahaha we're finally starting to see why this is called Corta's PLATFORMER. I liked the way that she can be knocked back without getting stunned unless she hit the wall, nicely done. I ran into a few glitches here and there where she would be stuck in a loop, like I attempted to give a Space Pirate a footjob just as the rock was going by and she wouldn't stop no matter how much I hit space, but I think that was just a random little glitch that happens. There was a funny kind of situation I had where the rock knocked me right into a Space Pirate a few platforms away. The best part is that I originally wasn't facing it while I was flying at him but I slid just enough that I was facing him during the animation, it was pretty funny to see.

Great work as usual corta!

The lifebar doesn't actually show her shield/hp/stamina or whatever, in the "Start game" section. : O

Also, though I looked through just about all the maps, I didn't find any place that I could test... "knockback" or anything like that.

The forest and sharpclaw village are pretty cool, though kinda laggy.

Just a hint for those having trouble finding the new map...some people are so awesome they can walk on leaves...think about it...


And i noticed that the second pirate i ran into i attempted the footjob and it was an infinate loop...haven't tried to duplicate it yet but i'll be sure to try it again and let you know what i get...great work Corta!

[EDIT] Upon attempting to replicate the problem i managed to get it do happen again...after getting past that bloody rock...

Oh, in addition to the lifebar not showing actual HP in the "Start stage" section, it's also possible to get stuck in an infinite loop of being ATTACKED but not hit.
And you can't move, either.
All that happened on like the second Levirant in the cave, I'll say specifically how if I ever manage to replicate it. No promises.

EDIT: Yeah, I tried a couple times, and I got nothing.

Also, even using the lightning, shots continue to occasionally pass through pirates and hydralisks without doing a single thing.

I actually found time to test this and I can confirm that there is a glitch with the foot job animation, infinite loop. Although it seemed to activate whenever I tried to give the pirate a foot job (rock or no rock). D: Also at the first avoiding platform (at least that's what I assume it is.) when the rock goes to disappear. Somehow it hits you on that platform?

So like the dotted lines are the boundries of the cave, the O is you, and the lines are the floors/walls. Anyways See where the O is, I stand there and the rock coming from the cliif that drops down into the hole, no matter how far away I am on the platform, it can still hit me and knocks me into that wall. Not sure if this is really a glitch or not, just seems like the collision box continues for a time.

alright, it's been sooo long since my last update because I'd hate to bump without something to show -- and this map is taking damn ages with the amount of free-time I'm getting these days..

here's something to look at!

So far, it's..

Opening Doors, done.
Lift, done.
Rock shooter, done.
Spaysechip, done-ish. (it's good enough.. there's maybe one source pic for me to work with..)
Enemy points, nope.
Quest markers, nope.
Activation scenes, nope.
map end, nope.

I think I'll stick to more linear levels from now-on.. it's so much easier.. and they'll definitely last longer..
but, there's one more map to go 'till I've got my first boss in-game!

I've been playing around with the activate system so much since the last update, I've got a fair idea what's causing that.

I left some code dangling from the camera script, HUD is fixed, now.
but for shots, I'll uhh.. check the hitboxes again..

there's just placeholders for now. but, I've got plans for little activate-able events all around the place.
