Sorry, I kinda got sucked into making some of the arcade games for the mall, lol. I have lots if things I could post, but I'm just debating on how much to reveal and how much to save. I've never worked on a game so I'm still trying to gauge how active to be or how much to show before people get bored... I guess nothing is more boring, lol. Ok I promised you guys a sex demo and it's well underway, the thing that stalled it was it was connected to a larger scene which required a lot if writing (some of your first sexual encounters, naturally follow after important scenes/advances in your relationship with the character, so they tend to be bigger moments) but I can just forget about most if the writing, and just do the oral sex part.

Kinda and we're sorry for that. Right now, I have to take care of some things that's why the progress is somewhat slowed down right now. But on the good side of things, goat still produces awesome stuff and you'll be able to take a peak of some more "delicate" action soon. Also it seems we've increased the writing staff a bit so don't despair followers of FML, we're definitely going somewhere ^^

Sometimes I feel new to the internet. Why would someone get annoyed when there is no update on a completely FREE and GREAT game (to be)? Anyway, great progress and although I understand that a sudden no-update notice is a bit under the standards and expectations that had been laid before, LoK has proven again and again that displaying negativity towards the creators (informal use, everybody that helped physically to make the project) will only get a deserted game with untapped potential. I think it would be best to try to add to the thread something related to the project rather than just saying a comment. Furthermore, if I am not mistaken, this is also part of the rules of the forum.

Besides that, I can say that I especially look forward to the Deer shown (dunno if there is more than one), Spike, Liz, and Michelle (if I were a female PC for the last one, but I think this is mostly bias, one of my great-greats was a Frenchman, possibly more though). Oh, would any of you mind if I ask what type of French will Michelle be? French from France, Canadian French, Berber French (think Zinedine Zidane the footballer), American with strong French roots, Middle Eastern French, African French?

P.S. All lists in order of preference & anticipation, from greatest to least.
P.S.S. (or is it P.P.S.?) I would like to ask if the sexable demo will include a character seen before or a brand new one. I think it's the former, but it's best to be patient, don't you think?

Thanks for your words, though it's okay :) I don't think anybody got "rude" and I do understand the disappointment people have when it gets quite around a project they are looking forward to. You don't have to worry about us mothballing FML, it's a personal pleasure for us to create this game and it will most likely happen. But it's also "just" a relaxing hobby for us we're not working on schedule or aiming for milestones.

Whew, these are some pretty tough questions :D I'll start with the easy one: The beach hind was an early concept and proof of Goat's incredible skills but she in particular is not part of the cast right now. There will be another hind, however. Regarding Michelle, I humbly have to confess that I didn't think of his heritage in such detail. His character concept is loosely based on a fictional character of a french concierge named "Michel Gerard" from a certain TV show. He is no rip-off mind you and you won't find that character in game but his image popped in my mind rather involuntarily and so I fleshed out the idea a bit. As far as his roots go the world of FML is not exactly earth as we know it so the definition of "nationality" doesn't apply. But I'd define it as a mildly stereotypical kind of "french" :D (Not meant in a "bad" way mind you)

don't get me wrong, i wasn't annoyed and i certainly wasn't trying to be rude.
I just don't like to see projects die and when a thread stays quite for a week or so just because none of the developers have posted makes me fell worried,
as if you feel like were not interested anymore,
which could no be further from the truth, at least not in my case.

Thanks, I do really really appreciate the interest, even if its a 'please show more' it helps keep me motivated. The worst is if no one cared :D and don't worry, as Red and Katsu can confirm, I'm can be a little obsessive over this game and I work on it , sometimes just a little but, but everyday. I'm such a crazy fanboy over Red's characters! It just takes time to get all the pieces together for a demo because a everything has to work together.

The sex demo needs a new price of programming that tracks the NPC mood and relation to you, so it's a bit not complex then just moving a model around, but don't worry, it's getting close :)

For me it is the same as for FMC. I do like this project, but since I don't have anything particularly useful to say, I just quietly follow the thread. ;)

I would like to mention, that it is odd for me to be interested in this project, because I'm usually not a great fan of dating sims. But what I've seen so far, especially the little minigame/dialogue-demo-scene with Spike, somehow got me hooked.


On a sidenote: Red, what's up with the sudden tendency to switch avatars? :?
If you stumble across any typos, you may keep them and rear new ones in your basement.

That's good to hear, we've been tring to add more RPG elements and a plot that ties the characters together, so while it is a dating sim at its core, it's also a point and click adventure game with some RPG flavor. I find traditional dating sims a little one dimensional, I don't know if we will be successful but I think all of us on the team want to take this game to the next level.

Of course it's okay, you can ask anything everytime though I cannot guarantee you'll be statisfied with the answer :D

Right now we are streamlining our work schedule, as far as there is one. I can tell you that the Demo will most likely have the chracter creation, tutorial, the island and probably four to six locations and you'll be able to meet 'n greet at least two characters from the cast.

I cannot and will not give any form of estimated release date, however. I won't do that in the future as well since such things always backfire anyway. Right now, we're basically two to three people in different timezones working on this one whenever we have some time to spare, so just keep checking from time to time, you won't miss a thing unless there is a new thread and even then it's still going to be there when you come back :D

The characters are balanced between male and female and most NPC are solidly is the bisexual range with a smaller amount of them being more strictly homosexual or heterosexual. So fear not this is not going to be weighted o either gender so everyone has lots to enjoy.

The reason the sex demo is continually getting put aside is there are so many more facets to the game that need to be addressed. Any of the demo stuff we put together takes time away from the overall project and we are tring to keep the scope if the project manageable. Also I'm not the best programmer/animator in the world, I'm learning but it slows the work flow when I switch from art and design mode. If it's not too much of a tease I could throw some screen shots of the sex scenes to shuw you what it will look like. You progress through the scenes similar to a dialog tree so you choose from a selection actions which gives you bonus RP (relationship points) or subtracts RP depending on the NPC preferences. Doing things in the proper order is also important as some NPCs need more or less for play. There are also hidden bonuses, so during some animations if you click on a body part the NPC loves you get extra points, like clicking on the breasts or feet, etc.

That's the sex system in a nut shell, if you are curious. As the game grows the emphasis is shifting to meaningful relationships, some plot elements and even puzzle solving, so while it is a Dating Sim at its heart it's probably more accurate to call it an RPG. The scope of the game is not getting bigger per se, it just seemed natural to go this direction as the characters became more fleshed out and dimensional.

At some point we will do a relaunch on a fresh thread when things are closer to being done and we have a working demo.

Well, I knew the game itself was like that. I was more wondering if the demo would have that (the dual focus). It'd let me know that, while I'm anxious for the full game, if I can stop pestering you guys about the demo. xD

And sure, you can tease us with screen shots of the sex scene. It'd be nice to see what to expect when it comes out. And teasing is nice to keep people's interest, or gain new interest that wasn't there before.

Everyone is just awaiting to see how good the scenes themselves will look because the dialog demo was so well done.

Would be interesting to see the animations and moods when having sex. We demand screenshots! :P

Sorry everyone! We have a great new writer that is backing up Red and I've had to switch gears and get him caught up and do some art for a scene he's working on, i keep putting it off because, I'm so close to being able to just make an awesome demo, but it keeps getting bumped, I'd hate to not give you something.... but the problem with scree shots and flash is the symbols don't animate properly until exported, at least i'll give you an establishing shot and maybe some other junk like some of Linn's outfits. This is all WAY rougher than i like to show, but you've all been so patient, i feel i owe you something.
