I ran into a subtle bug in my playthrough.

for those who care ***SPOILER ALERT***

after Brock leaves your party at the water badge place, if you go to Brock's house, he'll be there, and if you talk to him, you go through the scene where misty babysits the kids. It seems to be stuck in this state, where misty's no longer in my party.

Yup. Each version is self-contained.

Yeah, it actually takes a bit of strategy.
It's all about switching between pokemon and using their unique talents to get the upper hand.
In my opinion, one of the things that made the original games boring was that you'd spend most of the time walking back and forth and using the same attacks over and over.
So I tried to discourage repetitive actions and give the player choices right away.
I think it's more fun this way because it makes you think.

Yep. It's interesting to have Spearow be good. In Red, you only needed to get Alakazam or Mewtwo and spam Psychic.

question how does the save flash cookies work i saved after i got misty in my party and after i went to load my save there wasnt a save so how do i make it so it doesnt get deleted whe ni exit out of the game??

They simply save it to a cache, if you clear your history and etc for your browser it will clear that out too. I suggest opening a notepad. Clicking "save to clipboard" copy all of that and paste it into the notepad. Then when you need to load, copy the notepads stuff and paste it back in the loading clipboard option. Simple and you can keep your save no matter what as long as you have that notepad.

Remember though you have to do this every time you want to save. It might seem annoying but it's better then losing everything.
