I'd like to give credit to gorpete for the screen shot that I'm comparing one of my characters too.
As a former art student, I can gladly tell you what is wrong, the succubus worked because of all the minor details you forgot, the first problem is the hands, you had the hands facing the wrong way when you based them off the image it seems, leaving them a little poorly defined and way too small for a person, let alone the fact that if you look at her thumbs, she has two right hands, next, look at the upper part of the succubuss's arm, you see how there is muscle there? Without it her upper arm looks like a flat board, and doesn't contrast well with her lower slightly more muscled arm, not to mention how the shoulder is too high.
Now, onto the legs, the feet are way too small, if you look at the succubus, her feet look that small because of the type of shoes she is wearing, and they bunch up at the bottom, the lower leg is more or less fine, but I'm not quite sure what happened to the top part, as according to your artwork, it looks like her legs attach directly to her crotch and go into her stomach, compare the curve with the succubuss's and your old character, with the new one and you'll notice a big difference. Now we get to one of the harder things to notice, the height, she is way too tall, making her too top heavy to stand normally, the succubuss doesn't look that tall because her rear is depicted, thus making it look like her legs end earlier, since you don't depict a rear, you make it look like her legs go up further, no problems with the waist though, that was too skinny in the old version, and on a final not, the jumpsuit around the chest looks better than a cheesecake shot, although that one is more of a reccomendation than a criticism.
Don't let this discourage you though, the reason I criticise is because I like your work, and I want it to improve.
