Wrong Side of Heaven

Setting:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

With the Khaid Empire arriving on earth and exchanging technology with the human race, humanity was brought into the stars, and quickly began colonizing other habitable planets, and building colonies on asteroids and space stations . Turns out, space was pretty heavily populated with many different races. With all the alien races that began to associate with humanity, humanity decided its best course of action was to create a new form of government better suited to dealing with interstellar affairs, creating the Confederation of Humanity. The map of the near stars was updated to include this new stellar power, and a era not too unlike feudal europe began. Many different borders of different interstellar races were abound in this small section of the galaxy, some big, some small. The largest was the Khaid Empire, covering a few dozen populated systems, which was a lot less than many thought would be considered a “large” empire, but even that many proved to be enough to support hundreds of trillions in population, and it was a logistical nightmare. Many smaller steller states warred and conquered, traded and merged, there were inter-species weddings in some and genocide in others. This small area of stars was a soup of races and yet, beyond a certain point. It was dead. Races travelled dozens of systems in any galactic direction expecting to find more races like before but it was just empty space. There were no intergalactic signals, no signs of intelligent life outside of this small bubble of life in the galaxy. There was a second bubble passed the so-called “dead zone.” Once you crossed this second barrier, you were off the map, all signal is cut off, and no one is heard from that crosses a certain radius. This was called the “Barrier of existence.” Named so because anything that went past that barrier seemed to simply stop existing, sure there were stars and observable planets from telescopes but no signs of life.

Due to the many various differing borders and laws, as well as lifeless planets, the universe is populated by far more bounty hunters, mercenaries, pirates, and other such individuals, as well as black market dealers, allowing getting one’s hands on their own Hyperion and Invictus relatively easy. On one hand, this makes finding a living relatively easy, but on the other hand, the universe is more dangerous than ever.

CHARACTER
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Ggefsi Zoi S.M
Gender: Female
Appearance: Image
Age: 6 Peristro (72 in Earth years, but she's basically the equivalent of 19)
Race: Glossa
Race Bio: The Glossa are a race of predominantly female aliens that exist on a far away planet on the edge of the known galaxy named Spitimir. These inhabitants of Spitimir are all very reclusive, with very few of them traveling off-world for any reason at all. This reclusive nature is in part due to fear from the unknown nature of the galaxy, and religious reasons boasted by the Vech Eronna, a group of 6 chosen Glossa who lead the populace. The technological age of the Glossa is equal to the 1920s of Humanity in the 20th century, with the sole exceptions being that they've invented robots, lasers, and batteries. They haven't invented guns, and still regularly use bows, spears, and other such medieval weaponry. They have a shamanistic religion centered around a main 6 spirits called Arch Spirits that keep the balance of the universe intact. Each planet has 12 smaller spirits underneath each Arch that act as their representatives.

The Glossa's usual traits are a humanoid form with paler skin tones, a mouth that's either completely blue or completely pink with a tongue that can extend from somewhere between 10-15 inches, large elf-like ears, a lack of eyes, and usually darker colored hair. As they lack eyes, all Glossa are blind, but in the place of vision, they have superhuman hearing, taste, and smell, as well as particularly sensitive bodies. They are cold-blooded, and have black colored blood. Their saliva is naturally but weakly paralytic, not enough to affect a human being in moderate amounts. The Glossa are totally carnivorous; which is to say that they only eat the meat of any living or previously alive creature. They've got sharp, carnivore teeth for that. They reproduce asexually.

Spitimir is secretly home to a variety of powerful gemstones that produce a dangerous radiant energy, with these gemstones held as religious relics to the Glossa. They're seen as gifts from the Arch Spirit of Power herself, imbued with her energies, and meant to be used to protect and better the Glossa. They guard these gems zealously, but use them in most of their technology, from their clothes, to their weapons. The most commonly used gem is Ouraite, a blue gemstone that is as hard as diamond and generates an energy that heats the gem. This is especially useful for the Glossa, as Spitimir is a very cold planet, with temperatures averaging under 0°C.

Despite the potential value and mystery behind Spitimir, very few explorers seek to journey there. This is due to the location of the planet, which is in the midst of a large asteroid belt. Due to this, the planet was given the name of 'The Grave,' as the explorers who tried to venture to Spitimir were lost to the asteroids. The Glossa, however, have thoroughly studied their planet's natural asteroid defenses and know how to navigate through it.

Legend has it that far in the past of the Glossa, before the Vech Eronna existed, an explorer had crash landed on their planet during an expedition in the early ages of the discovering of the known galaxy. It was a human man, and the first the tribes of the Glossa had ever seen. He was injured, and in the kind hearts of the innocent women, they'd decided to take him into their homes and care for him, until he could return to his expedition. Under their care, the man had grown close to his caretakers, and learned much of their customs, such as their language, their technology, their faith... he was a trustworthy sort with a handsome face and a mystique that bewitched the young Glossa who cared for him. And in time, they'd come to regret this.

In truth, the man wasn't an explorer on an expedition, but a scout who'd been sent by a powerful pirate gang who wished to invade Septimir to make it their personal hideout, but they instead found much, much more. When the human had relied the information to his boss, the pirates made to take the planet by force, causing a war between the inhabitants of Septimir and the pirates. The Glossa ended up winning... at the greatest price for their naivety. The pirate's alien weaponry was poisonous to the clean, spiritual environment of Septimir, and it marked the death of one of the Spirits of Life, and greatly damaged the other. This meant that the balance of their planet was in disarray, and soon, their planet would die. But hope came in the form of a prophecy.

It was said that among the stars was a great and ancient prophet for the Spirits. One who had achieved all meaning to life and was bestowed with the ultimate gift of immortality, who could share their life essence with another. Their power would be the key to saving the planet. And to the present day, in order to find this mythical being, members of the Glossa are sent out as explorers to scour the galaxy, searching for this supposed savior. They are called Priars.

Spitimir, by the way, is a desolate and dark planet. It has a bright green sky and dark grey clouds that would usually be hovering over dark black jungles, with a number of dangerous fauna being potentially encountered in these black jungles, a variety of dangerous animals that can be seen mostly located in their respective habitats, and just about three biomes; the previously mentioned black jungles, the desolate plains of dead grass that was becoming more common as the planet's sickness spread, and the rocky mountainous areas with no plant life and spiraling rock spears. The green oceans of Spitimir are usually quite rampant and scary, making travel by sea difficult, but the smog clouds that'll stifle oxygen and choke you make flying too high... annoying.

Glossa architecture is quite insect-based, as in, their architecture resembles chitin. This is because they make their buildings out of metals synthesized with broken Kaviga shells, which are believed to be a protective charm. Their villages are usually located in the rocky mountains as the jungles are often filled with predators and the previously mentioned dangerous fauna.

The minerals within Spitimir all contain powerful energies that can be used for heating, lighting, and energizing. Some rare few even have strange fields of energy that warp and contaminate things with a purple ooze. The Glossa believe these minerals to be the signs of the planet's sickness.

Occupation: Priar (Explorer)

Character Bio: Ggefsi Zoi S.M is an established explorer of the final frontier and a law-breaking citizen who is ALMOST practically a pirate. She's gained a minor reputation for some of her crazy exploits, from randomly attacking pirate cruisers to test out her ship's new guns, to swindling her fellow citizens out of their money through gambling, crooked deals, and other such means. She's an uncontrollable maverick with a love for adventure, chaos, money, and fun. She's also somewhat of an anarchist, and can come off as creepy due to her religious beliefs.

But before she was the daring adventurer Zoi Fuck-Shit-Up, Ggefsi Zoi was a wild and rebellious peasant living in a primitive society on a primitive world. She lived in a small Glossa village outside the main city, and was the youngest of four sisters under the watchful eye of her caring Voina (assigned caretaker to Glossa children), Alit. Out of her siblings, Zoi was always the most adventurous and rebellious of the children. She'd often run out into the wild while dragging along a friend or two on mock expeditions, and she'd never listen to poor Alit's warnings and rules about anything. In fact, she'd grown to doing things against Alit's orders just as a game at the poor woman's expense.

One day, she took the game a liiittle too far, and got lost in the wilderness of the Kaviga, a dangerous species of giant crab-like animals that basically eat everything. Naturally this was very bad, and one of these dangerous predators weren't too slow to find poor Zoi... the natural progression of this event would be her running away. But the Kaviga is a fast predator. She knew it was only a matter of time until she was caught... yet, Zoi ran. And her unlikely salvation came in the form of her falling into a hole. A very, very deep hole.

When she woke up from being knocked unconscious from the fall, she found herself in what looked to be an ancient Spirit Temple, one with architecture that seemed older than the oldest temple she's been in. As Zoi explored the temple, her hands came upon the walls to check for its stories. Spirit Temples kept the stories of the spirit the temple was for on the walls, in braille, of course. As she read the story of the spirit's temple she was in, she came to a startling realization... the story told by the wall was blasphemy. It told of a seventh Arch Spirit, one that oversaw the chaos of the universe... but that couldn't have been possible. The teachings of the Vech Eronna spoke of only six... but the Spirit Temples couldn't possibly lie.

Zoi eventually had to climb out of the hole (it wasn't easy but she managed) and leave for home after an ample amount of reading and time spent down in the temple. She learned a number of things about this seventh Arch Spirit... none of them particularly simple. In fact, she didn't understand any of it, but she was curious to learn more. Spirit Temples are practically religious shrines dedicated to one specific Arch Spirit that details stories of its past. It's said that a multitude of them were made in the old days by the ancient Glossa and the subordinate spirits, back when they were more active. Not one Arch Spirit had just one temple... so she would just have to find more.

Zoi's adventures focused on finding more information regarding this seventh Arch Spirit. She scoured the lands of Septimir, crossing into uncharted territory, dangerous territory, and even forbidden areas all in her quest to find the truth. As she got older, she bettered her methods, amassing some amount of wealth and hiring teams of explorers to help cover ground. She made a few discoveries in her time, and the more she learned, the more she grew to despise the Vech Eronna. They were the shamans of their people, and their leaders. The old bags had to have known about this seventh Arch Spirit, yet they never spoke of it. It reeked of a blatant cover job... and in time, Zoi grew to know why.

But the cost of that knowledge was her eventual imprisonment, and the discrediting of all she's ever spoken of. She was labeled a heretic, a criminal of the highest caliber, and thrown in jail for a multitude of crimes, including; trespassing, sacrilege, blasphemy, grand theft, petty theft, tax evasion, fraud, bribery, and negligent homicide. She was guilty on all accounts. The death penalty was what she'd be getting.

But Zoi's salvation came with the help of her old Voina, Alit. Not wishing for her daughter's rightfully earned demise, she appealed to the Vech Eronna, citing Zoi's rights to a specific ritual that all Glossa undergo when they come of age... which Zoi had at the time of her conviction. It was a ritual to find the spiritual favorings of a Glossa, and it's been used to figure their standing in Septimir and their calling in life, but more importantly, one specific result of the ritual could overturn the rulings of the Vech Eronna.

If Zoi was chosen to be a Priar by the Arch Spirit of Destiny, she'd be granted three items of her choosing, a ship, and a month's worth of food for the journey she'd be forced to undertake. Considering that she's still breathing... somehow, that's exactly what happened for her. She was discovered to be a Priar, and thus, her mission was given to her, and she was informally exiled from Septimir.

From there, she found the nearest criminal underworld planet she could, exchanged some valuable gemstones to get enough money to buy all she'd need, and purchased everything necessary for her new life off the black market. She had to cheap out when buying her Invictus and A.L.I.C.E, but she went for a state of the art Hyperion that was used by alien spies against some empire she forgot the name of. Then she went off on her mission... of having a ton of fun in this big, beautiful galaxy. Mayhem will be caused.

She's very strong-willed for an ALICE, with a tendency to insult others with scathing remarks and general rudeness, though she's also quite mischievously playful. She's strangely lazy and rebellious, but she can be manipulated into doing your bidding if you scare her, as she's quite cowardly and easily intimidated. Her moral compass is also quite broken, and she's usually apathetic to the pain and suffering of others. Really, she's childish.

I'll edit this post with my character when I'm finished!

Character:

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Impulse
Gender: Female
Appearance:
https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1285789
Image
Age: 36 (Earth Years)
Race: Okeep
Race Bio(IIf alien)
There are hundreds of thousands of millions of uninhabited, dead planets in the universe. But these 'dead' planets have something of value to the empire, federation, or other individuals and political powers. The lifeless worlds may have valuable ores, lost civilisations and all of that buried beneath the surface. Some might even be terraformed to become a colony world, a new home for life to bloom again.
Of course, some worlds may hold something too interesting to make public. Experiments occur on these dead worlds, outside of any jurisdiction.

On the surface, OK-004 is an uninhabitable rock covered in molten swamps of grey goop, overheated cracked earth and poisonous air. Deeper down its... still pretty much the same. However, many years ago it was different. The planet had once been fully populated, primarily by two races. The now extinct humanoid Boden, and the amorphous Okeep. The Okeep had a symbiotic relationship with the other creatures it shared the world with, as they were incapable of reproducing on their own. The solely female race had to mate with other species, sentient or otherwise, and obtain their biological data within their wombs. Later the pregnant female would lay an egg, or implant it into another creature via a phalus-ovipositor, that would eventually grow into a new Okeep. While the child may take the appearance of the father, and would often maintain a bestial level of intelligence if the father wasn't sapient. Regardless, the Okeep would either hunt or form lasting bonds with males and hermaphrodites of other species to continue being able to reproduce. Modern science has revealed something more interesting about the Okeep's genetic make up - they were bio-organic. The genetic material they extracted (to use the polite way of saying it) could be from any creature, as their nanomachine-like bodies would be able to use it to fertalize the female's eggs no matter what.

A cataclysmic climate change reduced OK-004 into the state it is today. A majority of the creatures on the planet perished, though the Okeep survived in hibernation. Exposure to the electrical currents of visiting scout ships woke them up again, ready to make a place in the galaxy and reinvigorate their depleted race.

Occupation: Scout
Character Bio: Impulse, young when hibernation started, wanted to see more of the world. Being that the world in question is virtually gone, and the knowledge that there are millions of new worlds to see was enough motivation for her to head out and find her own way in the now much larger galaxy. Using a combination of blackmail, sexual favours, and examples of her potential use, she managed to ooze her way into an official, albeit low, position among the Human Federation's scouting force. At first, a desk job, relaying signals and communications. Then, finally, the scouting force needed people to go out and search for new life, new worlds to use. Of course, Impulse took this opportunity to go forth! She excitedly grabbed what she needed and signed on as soon as possible, dreaming of every possible creature she could meet and fuck.

Personality: Recall was, sadly for Impulse, bought rather cheaply so she could cut corners on her own expenses. The ALICE she ended up getting was quite more or a handful than what she was expecting, since she was had suffered some... damages. Her core personality remains the same, sweet kind and helpful to her master, acting like the 'doting big sister' type character. Though the more 'gross' lines were removed from her program, thankfully. See the problem is, she takes things a little too far, and has a dirty mind.
Mind?
AI Cortex?
Whatever, girl's a huge pervert and that's a problem when you're a horny goo-lady alone on a ship with her.

Character:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Isi-Artais (Isi for short)
Gender: Hermaphrodite
Appearance: Image
Age: 24 Srix-Nu (20 in human years)
Race: Antaemnekht
Race Bio:
The Antaemnekht race are a people made up of exclusively females and hermaphrodites (with 'males' existing but being a genetic problem similar to real life herm's.) With Hermaphrodites making up only 10% of the population of five trillion. The hermaphrodites are considered to be superior to the females in the race, with hermaphrodites making up most of the royal households, as well as the Pharaoh, females can be part of the royal family, but only if birthed from previous family members. Otherwise, they make up the majority of the middle and lower class.

The culture of the Antaemnekht race bears a scarily close resemblance to the ancient Egyptian culture on Earth despite never having made contact with the human race until their near history. Because of this, their culture is quite class based. With the lowest class being slaves. The second lowest being laborers, farmers, etc. After that comes people who create special goods that aren't automated by machinery. After this comes scientists and engineers, and other mentally intensive jobs. Knowledge is valued highly in the system, and if you're smart, you immediately rank higher than must on the social ladder. The third highest are soldiers and guards. Becoming a soldier is actually quite the arduous process. You must prove yourself to have the intellect of a scientist, the strength to hold your own in melee combat and survive the physical stress placed on ones body by wielding their Hyperion, and then after 2 years of intensive training, get personally approved by a Szini (essentially the same rank as a general) and finally undergo a virtual training course mimicking a real combat scenario, and passing a score with the bar being intentionally very high. Thanks to all of this, soldiers only make up 0.1% of the population (which is 5 billion). After soldiers comes nobles who were born from the ancient royal bloodline. There is a mini-class system within the nobles based on intelligence and capability to lead. At the very top is the Pharaoh, Ta-Pili. Ta has lived for about 300 years (earth) longer than the average lifespan of a Antaemnekht. This is mostly due to the fact she is given medical care that would make a utopia enviousness, making her actual lifespan somewhere around 20,000 years. She is also one of if not the smartest person of the Antaemnekht race, perhaps even of all the races. She isn't a slouch physically either, without her personal Hyperion she could probably go head to head with a single member of the stronger races, with her Hyperion she easily becomes her own personal Battalion, as it is one of the biggest Hyperions in the near galaxy.

The Antaemnekht race only owns 2 star systems in their territory, with a total of 5 colonized planets, 2 of which are near megalopolises. This is mostly because they are a xenophobic and isolationist race. When they first invented space travel, they were as eager as any other race to go out and explore, but once they realized just how many different races occupied this relatively small area of space, they quickly hunkered down on the two star systems. Despite their small size, these two systems are quite heavily fortified, especially the home system. Every colonized planet has a planetary defense grid composed of very high tech weaponry, with the home planet of Di-Tat having the heaviest, utilizing the newest and most experimental of weaponry, including antimatter and graviton cannons that create mini-blackholes. The second highest populated planet of Chione has a impressive defensive system as well, but the weapons employed are older, and more robust. The remaining three planets
a have enough defenses to ward off pirates and small battlegroups, but a focused attack by a larger race could easily break through, assuming one of the two fleets doesn't intercept them, or even the Pharaohs personal ship. When it comes to the two fleets, one defends the home system, and the other defends the outlying system. The outlying system's fleet consist of relatively modest numbers and weaponry, that isn't to say it's a easy target, only the largest and/or most advanced fleets would be able to battle it without taking many casualties. The home fleet consists of significantly more power and numbers , giving any fleet a run for its money. Finally, there is the queens personal ship. Like Di-tat's defensive system, it utilizes the most powerful weapons invented. It's also quite massive. Coming in at a solid 7 KM in length, it took nearly 50 years to build. There isn't a single ship smaller than a battleship that could hope to get close to it without express permission, and only a large fleet could go toe to toe with.

Finally, there is their style. In short, everything is very carefully made and crafted to look perfect. Buildings, ships, weapons, and most other things are built with golden and black materials, usually including actual gold. They use a very fractal design philosophy, with lots of sharp edges and triangles, use of magnetics to create floating shapes and a extensive use of glass. Nearing the capital or looking at the Pharaoh's personal items displays the extremes of this, with almost every inch of her belongings being hand crafted (that includes her ship) to look as emasculate and gorgeous as possible. Thanks to this, they have drawn attention to themselves before as their craftsmen ship is highly sought after on the galactic market. This is only exemplified by the fact they have closed borders and you can't get into their territory without going through a long process of paperwork and searches, and even then you may get denied for seemingly no reason. If you do manage to get in, you'll be watched like a hawk.

Physically, they are humanoid for the most part, with the exception of having large furred claws on their hands and feet, having wolf like ears, and a tail. Their unarmed attacks are quite powerful because of this, however for their home planet, it was on par of a human. Mostly thanks to the naturally hostile and massive creatures that existed there.

Character Bio:
Isi-Artais is a soldier of the rank Nulak. (equivalent to corporal) Born on a wealthy part of Chione, she immediately was welcome to some of the more prestigious technology, entertainment systems and homes of the entire race, second only to Di-tat As a hermaphrodite, she was given special treatment among most of the populous, and was practically guaranteed to be able to attend the best schools. She grew up with a rigorous schooling course that meant by the time she was 16 (adult age for them) she was already passing college courses with flying colors. She could of easily been able attend the best universities on the planet and become a scientist of some sort, instead though, she wanted to be a soldier. It wasn't really all that surprising, Isi was more aggressive than most of her classmates, in terms of not only competitiveness and physical strength, but also sexually. She dated the prettiest females in her schools, and was a top player in three of the schools sports teams. Also got almost nothing but Ka rank on her tests (equivalent of basically getting every single question correct.) It was also no secret that more than a few of the school pregnancies were because of Isi. Wasn't surprising, even among her kind she was among the most popular.

When she enrolled into the military, she thought she was the hottest stuff on the planet. Turns out, the military is full of nothing but people that once thought that. She quickly found out that not only was she not the smartest on the planet, she also wasn't the strongest, and didn't get the most recommendations, she wasn't even the prettiest. It was quite a shock, and her time trying to flirt with the few females that were at her training camp yielded nothing. After her first year of training, Isi had humbled out, as had all her colleagues. She had failed the hardest test the training at thrown at her quite heavily. She would be able to retake it the second year, (only 2% of recruits pass the test the first time anyway) but finally failing something so big had proved she had a lot to grow. So, she applied herself a lot more. She took her training even more seriously then before, and once the second year rolled around. She passed, if only with a Nu rank. (equivalent to a B)

Having passed training, she was finally assigned to a position in the military. After a very extravagant ceremony for those who passed (which was 6 of 40) she was told what her role would be. It was quite the surprise. It turns out the royal family had been wanting to expand their territory to other systems, in order to support more population. Because of this, they needed some foreword scouts in order to find suitable territory to expand into, and if said territory was already claimed, see about the power of its owners. Isi was one of these foreword scouts. She was given a standard issue Hyperion and Invictus (she hoped to serve on a battleship) and was, for all intensive purposes was told, "Leave everything you know and love and explore dangerous territories to see if there is anything worth having." And after preparing her things, she did just that.

I hurt you, I heal you, I hurt you again. That's the pattern.

Character
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Cthyu
Gender: Hermaphrodite
Appearance: Image
Age: 30 Rota (20 Human Years)
Race: Nyalotians
Race Bio:
The Nyalotians were born on the planet of Nyaltite. At its conception, the planet was 90% liquid water. From these waters were born the Nyalotian’s precursors. Today they are called Neptopods. These organisms were small, had tiny limbs, dull physical senses and were easy prey for most predators in the ocean. The one strength they had over other creatures was their latent mental abilities. Using mental signals, they communicated, pacified predators and survived the early millennia of the planet.

Due to changes in the planet’s environment, the waters of the planet began to recede. The Neptopods began to explore this new land for food. While most didn’t survive, many evolved to adapt to their new environment. It would be many more millennias until the Nyalotians took on their current forms. To this day, Nyalotians still prefer to live around water, and their mental abilities have only continued to evolve.

The Nyalotians are a race of hermaphrodites. However they don’t couple together in pairs as other races. Instead, a group of Nyalotians will link their minds together to form a Cluster. Within these Clusters, different members will act as Co’thi (Seed Bearer) or Cu’thi(Egg Bearer) giving birth. However of the many eggs fertilized, only one will become a new life. The rest are devoured by the new baby while inside the womb.

Nyalotian society is very minimalistic. There dwellings are simple as well as their design sensibilities. There is a focus on the metaphysical over the material. Though that doesn’t mean they don’t possess advance technologies. Many of their advances were made by inquisitive Nyalotians, while others made new discoveries by reaching out to other races telepathically and sharing knowledge. For this reason, Nyaltite has known peace on an interstellar level for many years.

On the planetary level things were different. During a period of time, a Nyalotians place in society was determined by their mental powers. A particular dark period of Nyaltite history saw the rise of many authoritarian leaders who would suppress the people with their powers. After the Red Sea Rebellion, a set of laws were set to govern the uses of one’s mental power. A few clusters came forward to act as a sort of police force to enforce these rules. They were called the Imp’pola. Outside of them, Nyalotian society is a communal one. Decisions are made by the people and tasks are distributed to the Cluster best suited to the job. However, there is still a bias for those who LOOK like they might have heighten mental abilities.

Occupation: Drifter
Character Bio:
Cthyu was the child of a renegade Co’thi by the name of Uyuathi. Uyuathi broke one of the many Nyalotians unwritten laws. Uyuathi used her’s abilities on members of different Clusters to force victims into the role Cu’thi. Using these pregnant Cu’thi as anchors, Uyuathi tried to take control of various influential clusters in a bid for power. Eventually, the Imp’pola caught on Uyuathi’s plans and she was apprehended. Her crimes were so heinous that she was put to death. The pregnant Cu’thi were given the choice to keep or abort the unwanted children.

Many chose to abort the eggs, as they proved too much of a mental strain on the cluster. Some were kept; one eventually grew to be Cthyu.

Even from a young age Cthyu showed incredible mental abilities, and a surprising lack of restrain. She would use her powers to influence other Nyalotians without even noticing it. But the elder members of the Cluster could feel Uyuathi’s mental signature on the child. A rift formed between Cthyu and her cluster. Many who she considered closer then family shut her out mentally when they interacted. She was treated as an outcast, even her own Co'thi

When Cthyu reached maturity, she’d had enough of her Cluster’s isolation. She corners one of the Cluster members and tried to force a mental connection. In the end Cthyu was too strong and forced the Cluster member to become a Cu’thi against her will. Cthyu’s own Co’thi instincts began to surface and was close to raping her, if it wasn’t for the actions of a nearby elder. Cthyu was turned over to the Imp’pola by her own Cluster. Instead of killing her on the spot, the Imp’pola chose to exile Cthyu to a nearby moon where she would be left to die in disgrace.

But fate had different plans. A ship of human explorers happened upon Cthyu and brought her aboard. They treated the renegade with kindness and offered her food and some cash. But after her previous encounter, Cthyu’s mind was now stuck in a near Co’thi state. While sleeping, Cthyu mentally connected with the humans who rescued her. Their minds proved feeble and easily broken. Once finished, she violated the two humans to her heart’s content. Leaving the broken humans at the nearest inhabited planet, Cthyu took their ship. As rumors spread through the universe of the “Renegade Nyalotian” Cthyu did the only thing she could think of and took less then reputable sources for work. Bounty Hunters, Black Market Dealer, Warlords and others were willing to turn a blind eye to her previous crimes for access to her powers.

Character:

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Adamantem (Will answer to Ada)
Gender: Functionally female. Can convert to hermaphrodite at will
Appearance:
Image

Age: 24 in human years. 1 in Minerali Sunt
Race: Minerali Sunt (Translates to Mineral Beings)
Race Bio: The planet of the Minerali Sunt, Locus Tempestas, is a planet of extremes. Molten hot magma spews in one corner, leagues and leagues of ocean inhabits another with bits of habitable area sprinkled between. The gravity on the planet is just as extreme, able to crush the unwary in an instant and able to crush carbon into diamond on the surface of the planet. In this environment, a perfect storm occurred. It started small, a cluster of limestone here, a pile of quartz there, were struck by what the Sunt call “The Spark” and began moving, thinking, evolving. At first they were basically blobs of mineral, dragging themselves across the surface, but then a foreigner, an Externus, landed on their planet. She didn’t survive long, unaware of the severity of the planet’s climate, but she lived for long enough for the newly conscious, slowly organizing Minerali Sunt to view her form and notice how much quicker she moved than they did. In the end, they are just sentient clumps of mineral. It wasn’t much effort for them to change the way they assembled those clumps from a blob into something resembling the woman. And thus, the general shape of the Minerali Sunt was born.

From there, their advances began rapidly. From sentience, to weaponry, to transportation took them about 50 planetary cycles. Of course, their “year” matches about 24 Earth standard years. 1200 years of growing, never aging, never knowing hunger or thirst, dying only when another managed to do enough damage to snuff out their Spark or submersed them in lava. Brutal wars over land to expand upon followed by shaky peace times when the number being birthed by the planet fell too low. It was at this time, on the verge of space travel, that they began developing ways of creating Minerali Sunt themselves rather than having to depend on the world to do so for them. The method they stumbled upon was for one of the Sunt to grow a rod and inject a bit of themselves into another. Within the receiver, the new being would be created by the mimicking great pressure, extreme heats, or weather within themselves and passing part of their Spark onto the resulting Sunt. The process only took ¼ of a cycle and the child came out “grown” for all intents and purposes and suddenly the Sunt population exploded. Of course this resulted in more war, one of the greatest reasons the previous ones died off being due to concerns about being able to sustain their numbers, but eventually those died down as soon as interplanetary travel was a possibility.

Curious about the universe at large and the creatures within it, the Sunt eagerly began leaving their planet for the stars. They then discovered that, compared to other beings, they are absurdly long lived, incredibly slow in regards to decision making, emotionally restrained, naïve in all manner of trade due to having little they considered of value, considered almost impossible to kill and therefore decent bodyguards. Due to their physiology, taking a Sunt apart will likely only be a minor annoyance to them before they pull themselves back together and then crush the idiot who did so. And due to being mineral, taking them apart can be a trial to begin with. Over the past 20 cycles, they’ve tried to correct some of their weaknesses, having all the time in the world to do so, but, well… the phrasing “Dumb as a ship of Minerali” exists for a reason.

Occupation: Satellitum (Bodyguard)

Character Bio: Adamantem has only very recently been given The Spark, forming from Locus Tempestas naturally rather than being artificially created from two other of the Sunt. One of her first memories after obtaining The Spark was of an Externus from a race called Humans who used an odd suit to traverse their planet. It was that Externus, she said her name was Vivi she thinks, who told her that Ada was made of what her people would call the mineral she is made from: Diamond. Converting that back into her mother tongue, she named herself Adamantem. Vivi found that a mouthful and so she got the nickname Ada. She learned what she could off of Hel before she left and as a result was considered one of the smarter of her peers. Not smart in general she doesn’t think, Vivi could talk circles around her without effort and Vivi didn’t consider herself very intelligent, but smarter than her peers. Spending the beginning of her life with a fast paced Externus also caused her to view her brethren as almost painfully slow. She could see very quickly that she would not be able to live her life on this planet. So she stole a ship meant to be going off world and made her way to the nearest hub. They were expecting a bodyguard Sunt and fuck it, she didn’t have anything to do anyway. So that’s how she’s made her living thus far. She’s got quite a few tales she can tell you, a few coming from her own stupidity and a few because people thought she was stupider than she actually is, but all in all she enjoys her life.

Name: Praestigiae Iaspis (Specter of Diamond). AKA Stiggy
Appearance:

Personality: Stiggy was an attempt of Ada’s to recreate the personality the Externus she grew up with. She fears she succeeded a bit too well for the standards of the Minerali Suta. Talkative to an almost insane degree, Stiggy is an energetic chatterbox even when there’s really nothing to talk about, filling dead space with lessons, lyrics, or –in quite a few embarrassing cases- lewds. Unlike her uptight creators, Stiggy doesn’t have much of a filter nor a sense of decorum which can lead to her saying off color things to Ada’s superiors, making intruders cry by analyzing their personality and giving bulletpoints on their shortcomings, provoking lust into visitors by reading aloud the dirtiest tales she can find on the web. Ada lives in almost constant fear of what the mischievous ALICE will say next. Stiggy is bad when she's just a floating head. When she bothers to form a full body, however, Ada knows she's screwed. Possibly literally.
There's organized chaos, then there's normal chaos. And then there's miscellaneous chaos...
