@VinGareth: looks fine

So, It seems you 3 are all that showed interest, so I'm waiting for Gorbaz to choose psychic powers, and I'm ready to start IC thread. Unless anyone else is interested, or one of you have any questions...?
If it takes me two weeks or more to respond to a RP without prior notice, send me a PM. It's more likely I've missed the last post, forgot or got distracted and need a little reminder rather than deciding to drop the game without warning.

Oh! Sorry! I assume I need to choose one ability per psychic level?

It looks like you choose one discipline per P and two powers per P, so you would get 3 disciplines and 6 powers if I'm not reading that wrong.

2, actually... looks like I've put it in the CS (you've already copied that before it was added) and not in the rules... my bad!

Pretty much, but you can go with less than your allowed number of disciplines, you don't need to have 3 when you have 3 P... it's mostly to prevent the other way, weak psyker with 1 P but powers from 2 different disciplines.

Right, I'm done. Only taken 5 powers, as didn't want to go OP with predicting the future, and half the pyro powers use my poor, poor BS :P

IC thread is up.

And looking at the timestamp on edits, it seems like I was working on Biomancy powers just when you were choosing yours :|

Yep! You've posted it while I was writting my GM post.

Note for the lack of posting: It's my vacation now, and it is unlikely (though still possible) I'll be making any GM posts until the next week. But in the meantime, I do have a question for you: Do you want me to post the results of combat (and other) rolls to the posts aimed at you, or should I just write the consequences of those rolls? I skipped posting rolls during Talia's divination (got one success, btw, I wasn't ignoring the rolls entirely... more successes would've given you more/better informations), and it will be relevant given the upcoming duel between Rosette and Reynard.

That was fantastic starwacher. I had never heard of Obiwan Sherlock Clousseau and I'm not quite sure how that happened, seeing how I think own a copy of that book somewhere.

More ish than tomorrow, apparently. I've mentioned afternoon shifts before... It looks like this:

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

10 AM, turning on my computer
Me: Hey, brain, maybe we should write that GM post?
Brain: Nah, sorry, you know my rule about working before noon.

2 PM, at work, shift starts
Brain: Hey, cool, I have few ideas, let's write that GM post! Where's the comp... aw crap.

6:30 PM, at work, break starts
Application brain has commited an illegal operation and has been turned off.

11 PM, home
Me: Hey, brain... about that GM post...
Brain: **** you and everyone nearby. We've just spend 8 hours in overheated workshop with no AC. I don't care about anything anymore. We'll do it tomorrow (note that there's still "doing nothing in particular until 2-3 AM before I tell my brain we really need to go to bed" after that)

Tomorrow: skip back to 10 AM

As a bonus: Morning shifts
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

5 AM, on my way to work
Me & brain both: whoever came up with the idea of waking before 9 AM should be shot. Retroactively

10:30 AM, at work, break starts
Me & brain both: woo, break, then 3 more hours, and it's over!

3 PM, home
Brain: all right, we're home, gimme an hour to rest, then we can get some work done!

11 PM, sitting at the computer
Me: hey, remember when I promised to go to bed early because we hate getting up before 5 AM so much?
Brain: yeah, yeah, I'll get to it, I'll just finish this post/read this thread/story/whatever/play one more turn in this turn based strategy/RPG...

(optional: 1 PM, still sitting at the computer. Brain: All right, mission accomplished, what's the tim... aw crap.)

Night Shifts
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

10 PM, shift starts
Me & brain both: too bad we need to be at work, we could've done something fun/useful. Oh well.

5 AM, at work, halfway between break and the end of the shift
Me & brain both: YAAAAWN!

7 AM, at home
Me: All right, we're home, let's go to bed
Brain: No way man, I'm not sleepy at all... gimme hour or two. (more like 3)
Me: Fine

4 PM, waking up
Me & brain both: all right, let's grab something to eat, then we can do something fun/useful.

So: that explains that the timing of my posts is usually all over the place, I'm not a morning person (at all) and my daily schedule is pretty simple. And I refer to me and my brain as two different personalities. Meh, sanity is for the weak!

No problem, I got myself into a situation where I need to keep your timelines somewhat concurrent before you reach the planet, which means I'll have to deal with Rosette's training to do the whole training excercise with Karzen, and then have all of you reach the planet at about the same time... could've handled that better, but hey, it's my first PbP GMing (not counting 1v1 games through Skype texting or other means) :?

Before my brain shut down at work today, I came up with an interesting character. It is not for me to use, but if I don't stick it somewhere I might forget it.

Name: Sister Abbi
Occupation: Battle Sister
Appearance/picture:
Image
Bio: Part of the Convent of the Burning Chalice, Abbi was inducted at a young age, like all the other novices. Her early years spent at the convent were simple, and she spent most of her time going through the instruction drills, learning the history of the convent, and sitting in prayer of the God-Emperor. Everything seemed to be going well for the convent, until they were called upon by Inquisitor Halex Gorn to purge a small tribe of mutants on a far away world, who had apparently settled close to an artefact from the Great Crusade. The entire convent rallied to the cause, and boarded transports to go and do the Emperor's work.

It did not go well.

The world turned out to have a far greater concentration of mutants and beastmen than they had been lead to believe. The sisters were under attack from almost the moment they landed. While the bulk of the convent fought hard to purge the mutants, the upper command got redirected back to the convent's monastery, and the Imperial Navy's presence vanished. The sister's fought, most died, but a few were taken alive, Abbi amongst them. She was taken, stripped of her armour, and branded with a symbol of Slaanesh, before being placed in a cage. Day after day, the beastmen came to her and dragged her out, forcing her to fight for their amusement. She considered refusing to fight, but the knowledge that those that died were consumed by the horde kept her fighting on - she would not let her pure flesh be defiled in such a way!

But defiled it was. After several months of fighting and winning, she was picked out for breeding. Not that it stopped her going to their arena, only getting a reprieve from combat once pregnancy was obvious. Again, she considered taking her own life, but her holy flesh had already been tainted, and was now impure in the eyes of her faith. So, that was her life for the next three years - fight, fuck, birth, and fight again. Every night she prayed for forgiveness, but every night the Emperor did not answer her. Instead, after she had slain her 240th foe, she was visited in her dreams by a powerful warrior clothed in brass armour. He promised to bring her to freedom if she devoted herself utterly to the art of death. Her flesh was already corrupted, and it was all too easy for her soul to fall. She agreed, if only to spare herself from the increasingly depraved acts of the Slaaneshi beastmen. That night, a new mark appeared between her breasts - the stylised image of a skull.

And so she engaged in combat with a new vigour, not waiting to be dragged to the arena, but instead challenging greater and greater foes. The mutants were far too interested in corrupting her flesh further, and accepted each challenge, and each time they would end up dead of the ground. After only two weeks of continual combat, she was rescued when an Imperial Guard army landed and did battle with the mutants, allowing her the opportunity to leave the world, taking with her only the clothes of her defeated foes, and a pair of improvised weapons. Free at last from the grim of Slaanesh after so many of her captured sisters had been secreted away at the last moment, she returned to her convent and, falling upon the floor, declared herself a Sister Repentia, hoping to purge the memories and corruption in holy war. And that she did, going from warzone to warzone, seeking out champions and leaders to battle, and telling herself that every heretic that fell would bring her closer to the favour of the Emperor once again. But, deep down she had begun to enjoy the challenge of single combat, winner taking all, and even when she was accepted back as a full Sister, she retained her assault specialisation, soon training again with the aim of joining the Seraphim.

So, no point in avoiding it further....

I fucked up.

PbP games don't work the same way "normal" games do. I knew that, but I still had this idea for a "prologue" where you do stuff on the ship before going separate way on the planet. Except it doesn't work the same way tabletop game (or even text-only game through some IM medium) would. I needed to keep you in roughly the same timeline, (spoiler ahead, read at your own risk)
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

before your ship gets shot down and you'll drop on Dolus in various escape pods, shuttles, what have you, each on your own
, but I really wanted to do the "training excercise part" too. But that would lead to a long(ish) game involving just Rosette and Karzen, with Talia having nothing much to do before the ship reaches orbit (and I didn't want to skip ahead with just her because of the spoiler above). That could've worked in "normal" game, because the excercise would be over faster (and at least my players don't mind just listening for a while when they split the party and I deal with someone else) or done separately before the main game. It's my fault, I *was* aware of the issue, but I decided to go with it anyway.
If it takes me two weeks or more to respond to a RP without prior notice, send me a PM. It's more likely I've missed the last post, forgot or got distracted and need a little reminder rather than deciding to drop the game without warning.
