Digimon RP; Sunglasses at Night OOC/Recruitment(Always Open)
Posted: Tue May 09, 2017 8:48 pm
So, where to start...
Well, this is my first RP as a DM, but you can rest assured, I'll do my very best. EDIT: I'd first like to mention that sex and rape in this RP is optional, it's more of a feature than a focus, in Cyberspace or otherwise.(On a side note, there will be characters who are implied to be those from the anime or video games, however, this can be considered an alternate universe, as such, they won't be exactly the same, and won't follow the actions taken in said anime or games)
So, the setting is basically modern day Japan, much like Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, but with a Cyberspace called "EDEN". This cyberspace basically ports your mind into it to play, using a Digivice. Digivices can take the form of accessories or articles of clothing, when you put the hacker program onto it, it also stores your Digimon.
In this RP, everyone will be a Hacker at the start, starting with the Hacker app(Due to how the plot starts), as well as a pair of special sunglasses. When wearing these sunglasses, it prevents people who see you from storing memory data of your facial features, keeping your identity secret, making catching Hackers more difficult. In the real world, these sunglasses provide night vision and help you locate Digital Fields.
Digivices, in this RP, allow Hackers to Connect Jump(Connect Jumping allows you to enter any Cyberspace, physically, and exit Cyber Spaces, characters also emergency Connect Jump out of Cyberspaces when fatal damage is taken). Digivices also store your Digimon and allow you to communicate with them, and summon them for battle(Or otherwise)(Note: Your Digivice, in this RP, can only support one summoned Digimon at a time, your character can summon another once the first is recalled, whether forcibly through taking fatal damage, or voluntarily). They also allow you to activate your Hacker abilities and use items in Cyberspaces as well as return your Digimon when they take fatal damage, automatically.
Digital Fields allow those with Digimon to call them out of their Digivices and into the real world. When entering an area, there's a chance a Digital Field could spawn nearby, they also automatically spawn for plot convenience.
Hacker abilities are abilities that allow a character to change small parts of EDEN, capture Digimon(More on that later), and hurt enemies. A Hacker ability everyone will start with is an ability that allows them to immobilize a target that is in the Critical Zone(0 HP, at which point any attack forces them to Emergency Connect Jump) and to summon their personal, unique Hacker Weapon. To clarify, while every Hacker will have a weapon, it's HIGHLY impractical to try to 1v1 a Digimon above the Rookie level. Not impossible, provided you're strong enough, have enough Hacker abilities, and fight intelligently(And have enough luck), but highly impractical. If your Digimon is out of commission, the best thing you can do against an enemy with a Champion+ level Digimon is try to escape or outsmart them. Hacker Weapons are mainly intended for disabling enemy humanoids.
Alignment determines how people who recognize you think of you and who you're at odds with. Not all Hackers are part of a team, but should a character choose to join one, that will put them at odds with the Data Squad and MOST of the other Hacker groups, as they are usually fighting over territory.
"Good" Hackers can join the Data Squad, and while the Data Squad's function was different in the anime, in the context of this RP, they're a group that specializes in stopping/arresting Hackers. Like Hackers, they have Digimon and Hacker abilities.
Your Digimon: At the start of the RP, every player will be trapped in a Hacker's personal Cyber Space for his entertainment. The only way to escape is to leave with a Digimon Partner, basically cementing yourself as a Hacker. While Hackers don't HAVE to be "bad", most are considered such anyway. At this point, what Digimon you encounter and befriend is completely up to you, as you'll decide that when making your character.
Obtaining other Digimon: Obtaining your first Digimon is determined by the plot. Other Digimon can be obtained by leveling your character and your Digimon, and by completing missions.
Your Hacker Team or Data Squad: Which Hacker Team your character joins or whether or not they join the Data Squad determines what missions are given to your character.
Stats: Your stats can be modified with your equipment, and all of them modify your success chances when performing related feats, inside and outside of combat. Your character and your Digimon both have their owns stats, which improve as you go up in level. Each time you or your Digimon go up in level, you can apply your newly obtained stat points to whatever stats you like, and apply to both the real world and Cyberspace.
HP: When it reaches 0, you enter the critical zone(This is when a Hacker can immobilize the character, at which point, you can rape them if desired) and can be immobilized by other Hackers. If you take further damage while in the Critical Zone, your character Emergency Connect Jumps.
MP: Hacker abilities, aside from summoning your Hacker Weapon, take MP. Nothing happens if you run out, and you regain it over time.
Speed: Speed is used for avoiding attacks and catching fleeing enemies(Among other things).
Dexterity: Dexterity is used for connecting with your own attacks, and determines how easy they are to avoid. It's also for performing delicate tasks, like picking locks.
Strength: This stat is for determining how much damage your attacks inflict on the target, determines your probability of causing an enemy to flinch from your attacks. It's also for performing Strength-related tasks, such as lifting and throwing things.
Mentality: This stat is for determining your success probability when using Hacker Abilities, and when defending against them, determines what Hacker Abilities your character learns. Also determines probability of success for intelligence/mentality reliant tasks. For Digimon, it determines their damage with and defense against MP-reliant abilities.
Charisma: Determines how NPCs treat your character, and determines your success probability when influencing NPCs.
Toughness: Increases your character's resistance to physical damage, reduces probability of flinching, and determines probability of success when performing toughness reliant tasks.
Please note that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FILL OUT THE WHOLE THING. However, doing so makes things easier in general. Feel free to skip questions, just try to fill out the important ones. I only have this character sheet, (which I hijacked from here:http://www.epiguide.com/ep101/writing/charchart.html ) to make character creation easier. You can make your own, or just describe your character, so long as I have a general idea of who they are. Your character's Digimon partner can also have a personality, it makes things more interesting.
