New RP Direction Decision

Hey everyone, I've been around the site for a while now and participated in a few rps. After DMing tabletop for something like 9 years I figure I should give the play by post thing a fair shot. So the point of the thread is to see what the community would rather play.

I'm currently fixated with two rather separate ideas,

#1 An exploration of organized crime in North-Eastern United States (such as New England, New York, and Philly) and England (Specifically London and Soho) in 1960-1980. The players would take the roll of lowly gangsters working under powerful Kingpins racing their way to the top of the seedy underworld. It would focus on dialogue, cooperative story telling, and ranks/reputations. It would also most likely be based on a modified apocalypse world engine.

#2 A post-apocalyptic survival with an urban setting. No zombies or crazy radiation, just a war torn world where most commodities are hard to come by. Minimal medicine, no power grid, and no internet. Players are civilians in the endless search for food, water, and shelter. It would focus on scavenging and moral choices. Most likely based on a modified S.T.A.L.K.E.R RPG engine.

Both RPs would be realistically lethal, accommodate 6-10 players, and begin in early December. If either idea draws much interest ill expand the details so players can make an informed decision.
I really like purple.

The crime one sounds interesting (dibs on racing a Mustang and Dodge Charger through the streets Steve McQueen style 8-) ).

A new take on the post apoc stuff might be interesting but at the same time there has been a lot of that stuff recently on here, so if it was choice I would definitely go for the Crime one.
