"Faint echoes of past slowly dissolve in the inky blackness that is your memory. Who you once were, the life once you lived, no longer remembered. Only your name remains, and the knowledge that you are not alone. There is someone, no, something else in your mind, sleeping. You stand under a starry night sky you have never seen before, and somehow know that this is a world you have never seen before. How or why, you don't know. There are many questions, but no answers. Here, at the end of the void that is your past, begins your journey."Hello people. This is my newest roleplay idea and my returning move as a storyteller. I plan this game to be largely sandbox, meaning there will not be a main storyline, at least not an apparent one. It will be up to players to decide which direction story takes place. Setting itself will be a low tech, meaning those of you expecting huge mechas and spaceships may be disappointed.
Character Creation:I can hear some of you guys saying "Wow! Slow down, character creation? You haven't given us any backstory or lore yet". Thing is, i won't give you any background. You see, i am trying to experiment with different storytelling styles. I want to see if i can pull off mystery and induce curiosity in my players and to that end, i will give you clues and bits of information throughout the game hinting at the events that led your characters to this world and what happened before their awakening. Anything about the world your characters are on are also something you have to find out by exploring.

Chosen Monster: Every player should choose a different one.

Now those of you that looked at character sheet might have noticed some curious things. First of all, your characters don't have any stats, at least no in the sense you are used to, instead you have two important mind stats, a trait list and a "Chosen Monster" field. Normally, i would let you figure out how those work by yourselves but i am not that confident in my abilities as a storyteller nor evil enough to put you through that kind of guessing.
Basically, "Chosen Monster" is that something sleeping inside your mind. A two sided blade, it can help you greatly, allowing you to draw on its strength when awakened and overcome obstacles beyond your human might. In return though, it warps your characters mind through a sort of bleed effect in which impulses and instincts of the creature itself leaks into your characters might.
Monster List: Some of you may recognize Wraith from a certain game.

Your character's "State of Mind" is first and foremost defense against this effect. A healthy mind has a higher chance of resisting the mental corruption. In that sense, you might also liken it to willpower.
Mental Corruption is how much your character's mind is influenced by the Monster. When it reaches the maximum amount, your character will acquire a corruption trait. Corruption cap will also increase while any corruption points you have earned will reset.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):
There maybe some people, whom i talked to before about my rp ideas, wondering "but Raven, this does not look like anything you pm'med me". It is because this is a new, less ambitious idea. I am still working on Worldshard and even though races and main lore is mostly finished, there are still some area's that needs work. Plus Worldshard is too big and complex and needs serious commitment from both GM and players meaning, i won't try to make it a reality until i have more free time and enough willing players.
