'Lo all,

I have posted only once before and became rather shy after my post received little interest. But here I am, back again - the unique LoK community I have spent so long lurking outside of just pulled me back in.
So here we go. I am new to this stuff, and though I am well versed in the finer details of RPing, I do not have much hard experience. Therefore, I would like to start a simple RP.

My basic outline would be that we would be the crew of a starship charting and exploring the edges of the known universe, exploring the surfaces of class-m planet, making contact with alien life, falling prey to hostile alien starships, coming into contact with advanced forms of life, interstellar anomalies, strange and intense metamorphoses, and interstellar civilizations. Warpdrive, comm lines, hailing frequencies, transporters, shields, military-style rankings (crewman, ensign, lieutenant 2nd/1st class, commander, captain), starship posts (captain, first officer, science officer, security officer, engineer, medical staff, etc.) - you all know what I'm talking about.

I have no specific idea for this plot line, but many scenarios which can be easily adapted. An episodic narrative - beginning with interaction between crew within the boundaries of the starship just after leaving drydock, moving outward as relationships expand and develop toward the more familiar perilous adventures aforementioned - would be very appealing in its loose format but rich content.

I can write fine, and I am not worried about the responsibilities of DMing, but if anyone else thinks that they can do better (or if they want to be nice and give me some experience) then please be my guest and make this project yours.

But above all, what I really want to know is if there is any interest. I think this would be interesting if I could find just three, four, five other people.

Hope to have a good RP sometime soon - after a few of these I have other, more ambitious plans for the future, many of which are already mostly-formed. But for now, I am excited to see who will come join me aboard the starship.

sure why not... although you may want to get those first ten posts out of the way so you wont have to worry too much on the whole needing approval to post.

The concept sounds great though. I'd very much look forward to this.

Will do - after my ten posts (gives me a chance to develop the idea more anyway), I will post a recruitment page. In the interim, will be posting necessary info here (char sheets, etc.). Post here if you have any suggestions,questions, want to express interest, or anything else.

Sounds fun! I am somewhat in the same boat as you, not new to RP'ing specifically, but I am just starting off here. Sign me up, if you can.

It sounds like an interesting concept and I would love to get started on RP'ing here on these forums. Looking forward to it if you'll have me.

If you want to invent your own position in the crew, go for it - but do know I may veto it if it is not within reason or canon (which is, albeit, according to my own discretion).
