Team Rocket succeeded.
It's been ten years since that fateful day. Giovanni and his army of Rocket thugs swiftly overthrew the government of Kanto. However, that was only the start for them. After a year of preparing, they launched a campaign for all the other major continents of the world. Johto was the first to fall. Hoenn followed after, the struggle between Team Aqua and Team Magma making them easy to defeat and absorb into their ranks. This same strategy worked on the other continents as well, absorbing as many followers from the other Teams after they disbanded.
This is the world you are about to start your journey in.Due to new regulations put in by Overlord Giovanni, things are handled quite differently before going out on a journey. Here are the changes.
1) All trainers have to be 17 to start on their journey.
2) You have to pay for your starter pokemon and trainer licence, but that means you can start with any pokemon you like. (non-legendary, starting lvl 5)
3) If a Team Rocket member so desires, they can battle you for ownership of your pokemon. If they win, they can take whatever pokemon they want from you.
4) In the event you lose a battle (Rocket or otherwise), but have no money, the winner can demand something from the loser, or have them give an IOU.
5) All trainers are to start their journey in Pallet town, no matter where they are coming from.
Game Mechanics
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
I will be using Roll Castle to show my rolls, but it is not required for players to do so.
Attack rolls: 1d100, based on accuracy of the attack. On a roll over 50, I roll a second 1d100. If my roll is lower than yours, attack is dodged.
(Attack Example: Blastoise uses Hydro Pump. Accuracy 80, and rolls a 90. The attack missed.
Second Example: Venosaur uses Razor Leaf. Accuracy 95, rolls a 70. Attack hits. I roll a d100, get a 65. Attack is dodged.)
