So, now I'm like "Why the Fuck Not?", and I guess I'm gonna try and take a stab at this. God, I haven't dm'ed in so long, so please bear with me.
Here's the intro if anyone just arrived not knowing what I'm talking about:
Intro Wrote:You. You whose vein flow with blood immortal, either blessed with fame, or tainted with infamy.
The world calls upon you, its calls for your aid. It calls to you to wield the weapons of your forefathers, to bear the armaments of your ancestors.
They are coming. Both of them. On one side, a bright light, driven to burn the world. On the other, a deep shadow that threatens to consume it.
With your ancestor's tools, will you forge your own fate, or will you be doomed to shoulder your ancestor's sins and die?
Here's the premise
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
This rp is sort of an urban fantasy. Your character's origin is linked to a renowned name of the past that once wielded an armament of some sort. (e.g. Author's Excalibur, Al Capone's Tommy Gun, Leonidas' Shield)
Wielding it, you are forced to fight the Armies of Heavens, or the Legions of Hells.
Why you have to fight them is a mystery unto itself, but there's only one thing for certain: The World, and by extension, Humanity will not survive it, should it come to pass.

Now, with character creation, I'll be posting that up in the morning, but in the CS, Country of Origin will play a rather large part of the Weapon of Legend. For maybe one or two of them, I'll let a person put in a specific location. That will essentially seed a person who really wants a specific armament. Or, they can just put in a country, or unknown as their origin goes.

Setting
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
The story takes place in a city that is simply referred to "The City", for the sake of simplicity. With a hundred square miles, and a population of over 2.2 million. It is a fairly large and populated city. However, things are not what they seem around here, especially at night. There are huge amount of urban legends regarding almost anywhere and everywhere in the city itself. There is usually some headline or another regarding mysterious lights or disappeared persons from the redlight district. Despite the urban legends, there seems to be no evidence that anything out of the ordinary is going on, except that the Police are not quite as involved as they should be.
The most blatant of these police's lack of involvement was a slaughtering of over 30 some people that took place in a bar a decade ago. Charges were dropped almost immediately, due to lack of evidence of whatever was going on at the time, although rumors persist that some of the corpses were found as piles of ash, or stitched together in a way that was much beyond the medical practices of the time.

Lore Keepers
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
A Lore Keeper, or a Keeper for short, is a person who inherits a Weapon of Lore. How they inherit it is quite literally by fate. Only a direct descendant of an original wielder of the Weapon of Lore can wield it without any side effects. A keeper can never let go of their Weapon of Lore, as it is bound to them by fate. Any attempts at separating the Keeper from its weapon will fail. Any Keeper's attempts at getting rid of the weapon, from dropping it into an inaccessible location, to physically attempting to destroy it, will fail.

Categories of Weapons of Lore
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
Weapons of Lore are divided in many ways, but most commonly are divided into 2 main groups: Bloodline Lores and Freelance Lores. In history, a Bloodline lore was identified by having a name. a specific wielder and a story that connected to it. Arthur's Excalibur is considered one such Lore. A freelance lore, by nature never had a specific wielder, and is better known as a "generic magical weapon". Make no mistake however, as some of these weapons can outclass well known bloodline lores.
Another way to categorize a Weapon of Lore is to name its traits, particularly what sort of entity is affected by the weapon. If it is effective against a single target, it is an Anti-Unit. If it is effective against Demons, its Anti-Demon, and so on.
The "top class" traits are Anti-Army, Anti-Darkness, and Anti-Divinity.

The Society
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
The Society is Shadow Organization of unknown origins, unknown numbers, unknown agenda. What little is known is but a single fact: The majority of the members of The Society, if not all of them, are Lore Keepers. The members that join The Society seem to have joined, more often than not, against their will. How they force their members to join against their will is a matter of speculation. The most common theory is that they "tailor" a situation that leaves a newfound Keeper with little choice in the matter.
The Society is an organization with a rather shady reputation within The City, often claiming they were responsible for the growing number of missing persons, often prostitutes, drug lords, and the occasional missing civilian. Many urban legends often depict The Society having a role in many of the unusual sighting around the city, such as the appearances of UFOs, UMAs, and other so-called supernatural phenomena within The City.
The typical garb of the Society are Hooded black trench coats.

MiscChaos - Aislinn Desmond
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
MiscChaos Wrote:Name: Aislinn Desmond
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Origin: Ireland
Appearance:
Bio:
“You’ve got legend in ya blood, lass. Keep ya head high.” Aislinn’s heard various versions of this from her family since she was little and throwing her first temper tantrum. She internalized this, believed it with all her heart, and lived her life with this in mind. This idea is what pushed her to grow strong when she got bullied in school for being a weirdo who likes learning of legends, convinced that a descend of a hero should never be defeated by such unworthy opponents. It’s this idea that caused her to go looking for those legends in the first place, intent on finding out just what legend she could have come from. When she latched on to Diarmuid Ua Duibhe, a man who single-handedly stuck down 2600 in order to revive his dying love, it was this idea that made her pick up the spear and begin relentlessly learning its use. She even began calling her freckles “love spots”, though this was mostly in jest.
Still, she has a firm grounding in reality. She realized that, as much as she obsesses over it, this information would only be a fun little diversion, something to do while going through the rest of life and the rigorous training she put herself through would only be helpful in keeping her in shape, nothing more. This really struck home in high school when, still mostly alone due to her various quirks and general book-worminess, she briefly entertained the idea of travelling the world learning its lore. She quickly found that no one would fund such a thing and she was laughed at for even thinking it. Her enthusiasm for life dampened quite a bit after that and her luck with holding a job tanked, moving from menial job to manual labor to customer service jobs in quick succession, using those as income while she tried to make it as an author, putting modern spins on old lore. She was in the middle of writing when all hell broke loose and she somehow found herself in The City. Even now she doesn’t know what transpired to cause this, as if her memory of the journey was blasted out of her head, but in her typical form, she doesn’t dwell on it. “I’ve got legend in me veins!” She tells herself to power through the confusion, moving forward to figuring out how to get back home.

wait it might work now... except it's HUGE
Bio: Born into the frigid temperatures of Quebec, Canada, Caroline was molded by cold her whole life. Her family wasn't dirt poor, but they certainly weren't rich by any means either. This rough life forced her to learn how to hunt using knives, axes, and the occasional bow to subdue her prey. Her parents hated urban life, making their family in the harsh remote rural land in the middle of nowhere. They suppressed desires in Caroline that was innate to her and her heritage: a love of the sea, an unquenchable desire to fight, and a need to drink obscene amounts of alcohol.
After what felt like a lifetime of prosaic studies forced upon her by her parents, she left for The City, and, hopefully, a source of adventure. To sustain herself for the moment, she works as an assistant cook at a small restaurant, but she takes long somber strolls along the docks of The City each night she can, letting her mind drift back to the lives of her ancestors...

It's just simpler with a picture.
Bio: Satinka isn't entirely sure where she came from. All she is sure of is that she woke up in an alley along the back streets of The City several weeks ago with no idea of how or why she got there. She woke up with only her clothes and her name, apparently suffering some kind of fugue state. The first night she can remember was spent huddled under a sheet of cardboard to stay out of the rain. Living on the street was rough, but thankfully that only lasted for a couple of days before the owner of a small bakery named Jessica took her in and gave her a job. Now she has a few bucks in her pocket, a roof over her head, and a friend, but there remains an unshakable feeling that there is something important that she has to be doing.
The City feels utterly foreign, and while she can't be certain she is pretty sure that she hasn't always lived here. That raises a few questions in particular. Where did she come from if not somewhere in The City? Why had she come here? Every once in a while Satinka gets flashes of memory, but often they disappear almost as quickly as they come. For now, she is just living out her new life and waiting for anything of her past to return and remind her of where she is supposed to be.

Cho Kenji is a handsome young man with a confident smile, messy brown hair, soothing green eyes, and a lean build. Although he is of mixed descent, it can be assumed that his ancestry is predominately Asian.
One outfit that he can typically be seen wearing consists of a light gray blazer, slim black jeans, narrow white belt, white long sleeve shirt with a large gray graphic on the front, and a pair of black and white high-top sneakers.
Bio:
Cho Kenji has been living in The City for as long as he can remember. Though technically an orphan, he was taken in and raised by his grandparents at an early age. While not without its ups and downs, his childhood was fairly normal. He dreamed of being an astronaut, but eventually settled on becoming a police officer. Having recently obtained the rank of detective, he was quickly assigned to one of the police department’s more diverse units, whose duty is to investigate some of the more unsubstantiated crimes that bordered on the supernatural. The reason behind this reassignment is due in large part to the unfolding of recent events, which are otherwise referred to as “the shit hitting the fan”.

Zender_Solarheart - Marco Jingami
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
Zender_Solarheart Wrote:Name: Marco Jingami.
Age: 27.
Gender: Male.
Origin: Unknown.
Appearance:
Bio:
Marco's mere existence is known by few, and of those who do know it, the details of his persona are remarkably enigmatic. He has no birth certificate, no family ties in any social database, and any attempt at identifying his ethnic origins through DNA testing has simply suggested he's equal measures of everything. The last name "Jingami" sounds Japanese in origin, but after researching it in Japan's social records, nothing comes up. Marco himself wishes he knew; the best answer he can come up with, is that his mother was probably a very..."promiscuous" woman, and somehow managed to be impregnated by men of multiple ethnicity at the same time. Far-fetched? Yes, but it's the most logical explanation he could come up with.
As for what Marco does nowadays, he mostly lurks in the shadows, observing the various happenings of the City, intrigued by the various rumors and urban legends circulating around. Most attractive to him are the rumors regarding the Society, an underground organization as mysterious as he is himself, if not even more. By day, he resides with the only person he can admit to trust: Mary Turilli, a pre-grad student at a nearby university, who also happens to be his unofficial partner in investigating the Society's activities. Honestly, were it not for Max's generous aid, Marco would likely have had to resort to mugging and petty thievery just to survive, as he has no home of his own, and no official job with which to gain money.
Aside from living provisions and a good friend, Mary has also done one more special thing for Marco: inspired his personal infatuation with ninja legends. One of his favorites is that of Momochi Sandayu, the teacher of Japan's "bandit hero" Goemon Ishikawa, and also a founder of the Iga branch of Ninjutsu. Marco's interest in Momochi is partially due to how enigmatic the legendary ninja was; few records of his life remain, and even his true identity remains a mystery. Some theorize that he is the same person as Nagato Fujibayashi, another legendary ninja, who was known for great feats in the Sengoku-era battle of "Tensho Iga No Ran." The most prominent manner in which this "ninja fandom" manifests itself with Marco is at night, when he uses a number of tactics one would expect from a ninja; hiding in the shadows, wearing dark clothing to blend in with his environment, and even carrying a kunai-sized knife on him in the event that he needs to defend himself.
Outside of his times with Mary, however, Marco is a very non-sociable person. Few even notice his existence, and for those who do, they typically don't get a single word out of him. He tends not to speak outside of Mary's apartment unless absolutely necessary, and even then, he keeps it as brief as he possibly can. Whether this is part of Marco's "ninja fandom" or not is unknown, even to the man himself; it just seems...natural to him.

Bio: "There are so few Real vikings left son. The sweds will say they were the first vikings and so will the Norse but us Danes were the first vikings! We were the ones that lead the Great Heathen Army across the seas towards the lush fields of Wessex. We the Danes broke Northumbria, East Anglia and Mercia before descending on Wessex and toppling Alfred the Weak. ONLY THEN! Were we defeated, NOT by Saxons but by petty infighting and traitors! We were beaten and many lost their taste for battle but the true Danes never did! You understanding what I'm saying, son?" Ulfr was only 16 but he knew that there was no real lesson behind what his father said. Nevertheless he indulged him as their small boat raced towards the merchant freighter off the coast. "Of course father! Just because the times have changed doesn't mean the nature of vikings have to. We can still own the seas."
"Exactly, Ulfr! Our family can trace our lineage all the way back to the great Danish King Hrólf Kraki. We live only a few miles from his real burial site and as much as your mother would like us to forget the past and work in a factory or something, being vikings is in our very soul and blood. We just simply have to use different tactics from our ancestors while keeping the tradition." Ulfr's dad gave him a wolfish grin as he held up a block of C4 and an assault rifle in his other hand.
Despite the circumstances, that boat raid had been one of Ulfr's favorite memories. How they climbed up the side and shot their way to the captain's quarters, stealing his safe before blowing a hole in the side of the ship. His father had certainly managed to capture the feeling of a viking that day. Each outing was always explained with a history lesson that reinforced the belief of inner Danish strength. His father might have gone down in the history books and on the news as "Skofnung's Blade", the raider of the North Sea, but Ulfr chose a different life when he grew older. He put his viking youth training to use in the military, saving lives and ending many more. He became handy with a gun but in close quarters, something connected and he became what his father liked to call a Berserkr. Whatever weapon he had would become part of him and he could hear the battle song as he fought. Ulfr is proud of his heritage and what it has made him. He is only the newest in a long line of Danish legends.

Appearance:
Bio: "Огонь! Огонь по готовности!" Bullets whiz by my head as the stuttering retort of an assault rifle firing sounds out. God dammit! They're firing at me! "I suppose maybe stealing a national treasure was a bit of a faux pas, but I didn't know all Russians were this bloodthirsty. I kinda thought I was the only one." I chuckle to myself, calling back to my pursuers. And then I look forward. "Ah shit." I vault over the ledge and tumble through the air. A slew of swears come from my mouth as I fall towards the ground. This is probably going to hurt... "Hrk!" I roll into the fall, minimizing the damage that a 2 story drop would've normally given. Wasn't that bad. Right, so the Helicopter is waiting...There! The blades are already whirring when it comes into sight. The Russian countryside is beautiful this time of the year... Ah, but there will be time for reminiscing later, maybe when my head isn't in danger of being blown off. The weight of the required item weighs down in my duffel bag. I'm not really sure why this thing was on display...Its kinda weird really. But that's not for me to decide, that's for the agency. Being a world class thief isn't a bad job. Pays well, lotta fun, good perks. More bullets race towards me. Okay enough of this multitasking bullshit I need to focus on getting out of dodge. I'm panting by now, huffing and puffing as I sprint to my getaway. The chopper is already in the air as I leap for the landing rods. I laugh maniacally as the bullets keep coming, all of them missing. Damn they can't shoot. A familiar gloved hand reaches down and pulls me up to safety by my shirt collar.
"Welcome back."
Keith's gruff voice calls over the chopper and I grin."Damn they can't shoot."
He snorts. "Hey listen kid, you're going to America. Agency chapter has need of you there."
I throw him a quizzical look."What? Why?"
The rest of the chopper ride to the airport is spent on debriefing me. Apparently There are more objects like the one I obtained, though I have no idea what they mean by that statement. I guess I'll find out. There are 7 other artifacts(that's what the guys upstairs called'em) that I need to obtain and the targets are being held by various marks that I'll have to deal with. They said it didn't matter how, just as long as I got the items. They claim it won't be easy, but so far every other job has been. I dunno, this one sounds pretty serious. Just makes it more fun I suppose. For some reason, they told me to take the thing they had me steal in the first place. Maybe it'll help? Jesus Christ so many questions...I guess I'll find out when I get to the city where all 7 artifacts are supposedly grouped together. Welp. America it is.
