Intro:
In the dream before life, Mother Tree has taught you many things. You are part of an ancient race, proud protectors of a lost homeworld far away. Several thousands years ago your would was wiped out, destroy by a cruel enemy. Mother Tree had managed to escape this destruction, out of milions of sisters launched into space, her seed had found habital ground upon this unexplored land you are about to be born to. She has grown into a mighty, massive landmark, large enough to cover entire acres. Now she bears fruit to children to carry on the existance of you people, without her you would not have your life, but what you do with that life is up to you.

Your race has at its desposal many useful skills. No matter what age, you are able to be reborn. You are able transfer your consciousness into a new body, evolve, and become different creatures. The samples of life Mother Tree has gathered for you is limited, but you will be able to collect more on your own to share with your brothers and sisters, and together create new mutations. The aspect of gender determines you'll role in this metamorphosis. Females are designed to gather DNA and share it to others through Mother Tree. Males are meant to design and distribute mutations. Though your physical body may change, your consciousness is preserved by Mother Tree. Even death will not end your journey.

Okay, to gather DNA as a female you'll need to find a way to mate with another creature. You preserve sperm within your womb and it can be extracted later when you return to Mother Tree. Keep in mind that dying while you're storing DNA will cause it to be lost, so be careful out there. ^_^

Males can alter genetic composition of other creatures with their sperm, causing mutations. In terms of your own race, this means you can play biological engineer with willing females, who will receive a mutation based on both of your genes. This mutation can range from being completely obstructive to very beneficial. After giving time for their bodies to settle, females choose to either surpress the mutation (reverting themselves to normal) or pass it on to Mother Tree for storage. In terms of creatures of a different race... well stranger things can happen.

hmm, that's actually pretty interesting idea. Maybe you could be some dude he decided to live around the Mother Tree, not realizing what it was. Just make all your body parts "Anthromorphic"
