Aye! We can just use that system for our little fight, and everyone else can adopt it if they want to. Using "d20, higher succeeds" is pretty simple and effective. Plus it leads to fun situations where both parties fail, but one fails so hard they end up falling right in to the other's failure.

Hmmm well either way we do have to decide a format for our combat.

I like the D20, highest wins. After all it's simple just to fond something online to do it for you, and only takes a second to know who wins what. Base the rolls off who posted when, first person gets first roll, etc.

Can't say that I like the idea of players rolling for themselves since there is always the temptation to put things in their favor. It'd be as simple as the GM just rolling D20s for each character and seeing whose is higher.

It should go unsaid that we should be able to trust our roleplay partner to make the combat fair and exciting. Use whatever systems you like, as long as it's fun to everyone involved!

I agree with that. I'd prefer to have a neutral party roll but if there can't be then I guess it's fine.

If it comes down to us, should we perhaps create a Roll20 campaign just so that both parties can roll at the same time and see what the other rolls?

Fine I will roll for all of you. Right Spirter 13. Reaver 12, Draco 16, Knight Vanilla 14 and Mel 15. When it comes to NPC's though there will be no need for the rolling.

Okay, made a roll20 campaign just for the people who will be fighting to go on, roll and effectively decide what is going to happen judging by the rolls. you will need an account, but they are easy to set up. should mean we don't need to wait for rolls/GM posts. bear in mind we should not roll on our own, only when the other is there.
