Ocfos Wrote:Guess I'll try making a post for this, then.Name: Nellie Samotara
Age: 24
Nationality: New Jersey, USA
Appearance: http://i.imgur.com/DWJkZH1.png
Class: Assault
Rank: 1
Stats (20 points to spend, -4 is poor/lowest, 0 is average, 4 is best/max)
Aim 2
Will 0
Toughness 2
Strength 0
Perks: Parkour Enthusiast, Weapons expert, (I don't know if Assault needs a perk taken too, but if it does it's Shotgun Expert,) Thumb-less clutch (Since I didn't assume her head-worn tentacles count as a full-fledged enhancement, and hope they don't, I put this here. She can't fire guns or anything of the sort with them, but can use them to throw grenades, ammo, and similar. Let me know if it's too much.)
Bio: Nellie was born with an unusual mutation to her head, causing her hair to not only spout odd squid-like tendrils on the sides, but also turn a permanent pink hue and feel slightly slimy yet smooth to the touch. Neither she nor her family has idea why she was born with this mutation, but her brother suffers a similar thing with his head, his being green. When she was 15 her parents mysteriously vanished without a trace, and the two siblings came home from classes to find signs of struggle and combat, making the two think they were kidnapped. No sign has been found of them to this day, causing Nellie to think something weird is up, possibly related to why her head is so weird. During her teen years, a pink patch of the same texture as the 'hair' on her head appeared on her pelvis.
Relevant or not, she also spent a fair bit of her youth rollerblading, and won a fair amount of local competitions where she lived.
She joined XCOM after having spent her recent years trying to become a soldier, wanting to get some more action out of her life as well as trying to ascend the ranks in the military, hoping to some day find out more about her parents' abduction either through adding further study to the case, or checking if there's anything classified about it. Plus she gets to kill aliens and save the world, but the latter is the least important thing in her book. Lastly, her mouth features three fangs; two on the top row, and one in the middle of the bottom row, and directly in the center of the two other fangs.
Character personality: Nellie is quite headstrong at times, and likes a challenge that involves showing off her time spent climbing and leaping around the suburbs. This both makes her a very agile soldier, but also a bit too bold when it comes to things. Since she's unusually short (5'0") she used to be the target of people mocking her height, which has caused her to be very sensitive about any negative comments relating to it, and she will often agress if someone points it out in a derogatory manner.
Due to her being bullied a lot in school for her unusual hair and/or height, she had issues actually learning to read and didn't pass as a result of it.
If she can get away with it she likes to wear tight, knee-long racing swimshorts with her armor, not only having used such for all of her parkour stuff, but also quite liking the more firm feel of them on her person. She also prefers using a binder at times to not make her B-cup chest get in the way of her agility-based movements.
Equipment: Shotgun, pistol(two if possible), flashbang grenade(s), standard XCOM body armor.
Let me know if this is alright, as she is a Splatoon-inspired character I made for a game of Changeling: The Lost, but never actually got to use due to its premature termination. I just hope it doesn't seem either too out of place, or too powerful for the setting. I changed her back story to at least be more related to the universe, so there's that.
It's an interesting character. The tentacle trait is just a bit too weird for the setting. The most extreme genetically different character we have is Nym, who is basically much stronger and tougher, and that more or less fits thematically.
Harley and Shaknah, I will add your characters to the pending list for squad assignments.
