Name: Matthew Serrof (last name pronounced "Seraph," as in angels).

Description:
Matthew was born not on Earth (where I'm assuming this takes place), but in the mysterious world of Poseida, where land-masses and population centers were housed in large bubble-like spheres beneath the deep ocean coating the globe. The only way to and from these spheres was by submarine, and even then, one had to keep an eye out for the "depth pirates" that scoured the sea. Matthew himself was a treasure hunter, always in search of adventure, and had a rather well-armed sub to fight off any assailants with relative ease.

One day, his treasure-hunting led him to a mysterious temple in an uncharted bubble-sphere...one made not of stone, but metal with glowing lines running along it. Seeing it as a jackpot for his tastes, he moved in to explore, and after an unexpectedly safe journey into a large central chamber, he found a massive gate-like object. A message of some sort was printed on the side, above a set of buttons. Matt didn't even get to investigate that, however, as one of his crew-mates decided to press random buttons out of curiosity, and activated a portal in the middle just as Matt was walking over it, warping him to Earth.

Anyway, circumstances eventually led him to the guild's recruiter, who told him about their work, and how he could get involved. "Alright, why not?" He thought to himself, and answered with the same fundamental meaning. Sure, he wants to find a way back to his own world...but frankly, this one seems to have promises of its own, and he's always willing for a little exciting change to shake up the daily routine.

...I'd like to mention right now that Matthew's not the kind of character that would take chest-chomping without a struggle, even against a woman. Whether he gets to the point of hitting said woman is debatable, but you can expect him to at least get her far away enough to escape and/or properly defend himself. So yeah, macho-mammary munchers beware.

Name: Hamada (Family Name) Chiyoko (Given Name)
Age: 26 Winters of age
Description:
Hamada Chiyoko, third son to the Hamada clan's second family branch. Born during the winter court, his family suffered through the worst of the great freeze, forcing Chiyoko to be raised in a situation in which food was scarce. Many of the family members have mocked him, claiming his mother gave him a girl's name as a result of his light build. Despite being of different build, he was forced to undergo many of the traditions of the family.

From an early age he was raised in etiquette, traditions, and dialects. This was further supplemented through acting as a courtier in the clan's court, as well as acting as emissary to the many clans surrounding their lands. He also tried the way of bushido, the path of samurai, but was found to be unfitting for it, and returned shamefully to his branch-family.

Before long he would be raised in the ways of the artisan, learning poetry through nature, sculpting of ice, and the art of forging decorative pieces. It was here that he would find his true calling, in a turn of events. One day, while forced to protect the honor of his master-artisan, he would participate in a duel. It was here his latent abilities would be awaken, a duelist at heart using the soft-sword style. What he lacked in strength, he made up for in the artistic quality of his sword handling.

He would win the duel, but at the cost of his identity and name, stricken from the family, and last name rejected, he has become ronin. It would be through a twist of fate that Chiyoko crossed swords with the guild's test administer. With little more than a powder blue kimono with a stricken family mon, and a sheathed no-dachi, he would enter the testing grounds, a dark horse.

Appearance:
He is 6 heads tall, and of slender stature. Limbs are well formed, smooth curving shapes, lacking any real definition, but of an elegant proportion. Each slender armed tip ends in hands, fingers worn smooth from working with an assortment of tools over his lifetime.

He has long silver-white hair, the only identifiable trait of his origin (Hamada-Branch Family), of hip length. It is delicately braided around the forehead, before breaking off into long locks of hair behind his head. Woven through his hair are porcelain hair ornaments, a stylized chrysanthemum. His hair frames a porcelain white face, blue eyes reflecting the spirit of his soul, finished off with a straight nose, and soft lips.

He wears a blue kimono, sky blue and full length down to cloth shoes. The kimono is of brilliant material, both smooth and reflective, with a stylized family mon on the back of the coat, struck out with a single swords cut.

Upon his back rest a tempered no-dachi, his signature oversize sword, as long as he is tall.
