well how many of the pcs, or even the npcs for that matter, can write? The ship captains can maybe sign their name and keep an inventory but I doubt they could write a letter. The guild leader can most likely write, along with the doctor. Yasker is an alchemist so he's got formula's and such. Nydia is a noble so she most likely can read and write. Samantha is a genius so if she doesn't already know how to write, I bet she could pick it up. Valkyria might be able to? And last but not least Bellatrix's family might have a tome or a ledger with some information about it, or it's all oral history. So if we want to collect information I think someone needs to do it IC. As far as I can tell all the other characters are fairly uneducated and most likely illiterate.

I made mentions of Octave having notes about her research, so she does have the ability to write. How she learned it is up in the air, but it's more than likely she learn how to in order to keep track of everything she encounters, just to make sure it's written down and not stored away in her mind, because it might go poof no matter when.

I assumed Yasker has general knowledge of which monster produce more lethal poisons or useful drugs for someone of his trade but he isn't usually one to use enhancers. Maybe I'll have him buy a book to catalog everything he finds and tests on people.

The effects, both positive and negative, vary from fluid to fluid. As I mentioned a few posts ago, Orc fluids give a strength boost but increase appetite.

Shark fluids are used for medicinal reasons and cause buoyancy for a few hours after being ingested.

Goblin fluids provide a boost to wits, but repeated use will make you clear headed and aloof while not under the effects of it.

So on and so forth. I'll try to get a Alchemical Logbook coupled with a basic Bestiary on the first page sometime in the near future. Possibly wednesday/thursday as I'll have more time to fiddle with that.

You're dealing with someone with paranoia, she's bound to spout out nonsense at this point.

Then again, read my words carefully. I did not say anything specific, I only said she "believed she smelled" which means her nose could be lying about things, and she didn't say anything exactly about people going missing, just a feeling that someone might go missing connected to the guild, including players. I even said that the doctor may not believe her, it's just her own hunch about things. That's saying that he could easily ignore that and go about things.

lol since when does basic knowledge of the effects of goblin venom equal a trained poisoner? You certainly won't find any other mentions of poison with him.

I noticed the wording the first time I read. Its a cute way of getting the meaning across without actually claiming accurate knowledge on the subject. Octave doesn't have an ability that sniffs out poison in vials in a bag in the middle of a fight, while acting partially insane. Next she'll know about the crossbow under Yasker's cloak before he even pulls it out XD which reminds me how she spotted his weapons at the docks. I'll level with you, Yasker isn't as out for her blood as you think, because what would be the fun in knocking out the semi-competition immediately. Let me put it this way, Octave is the dessert, Yasker has just started the appetizer. XD Don't be so concerned about PvP I ain't gunning for you (yet)
