Backstory: Zera is the first ninja in 200 years to unlock the ancient, forbidden ways. She defied his clan and master, casting off the balance and discipline that had shackled her all her life. Zera now offers her power and skill to the red mane and slays those who cling to ignorance.

An orphan, Zera was taken in and trained by a great ninja master. Only one other student appeared to be Zera equal - the master's son. It seemed Zera could never win the favor of the master, as every match between the rivals ended in a draw. Frustrated and jealous, she sought an advantage. The young ninja ventured into a sealed part of the clan's temple, where she found an ornate, foreboding box. Sensing the dark knowledge within, Zera knew she should not open it, but she peered inside nonetheless. In an instant, shadows touched her mind, revealing techniques that had long been hidden. Now armed with a secret edge, she challenged the master's son, and this time she defeated the master's son. She expected praise and recognition in her moment of victory, but somehow the master knew Zera had used forbidden ways, and banished her.

Humiliated, the young ninja wandered for years. Her bitterness turned to ambition, but she knew she must make her technique perfect before she could challenge all and avenge the betrayal she suffered at the hands of her old master.

Main Weapon: Duel Wrist Blades
Sub Weapons: Shurikens, hook chain, smoke bomb
Specialty: Cull the Weak. +2 to rolls against enemies below 50% hp.
Weakness: Darkness is My ally: -1 to all attacks in well lit areas from shadow clone
Ninja Art/ Special Technique: Shadow Clone. Bending the power of Shadow Zera is able to throw out a living shadow of herself as a physical form, allowing it to act as she does, throwing shurikens, slashing at enemies without putting her in harms way of being near them and should they leap to attack her is able to morph herself in it's place, swapping around their positions allowing her to easily out maneuver and even get the drop on enemies trying to bring the fight to her directly or even grapple foes should it need to. Before the shadow fades back into nothing it is able to fulfill two acts before the stain of maintaining it causes it to dissipate.

Stats: (All start at -5, 30 Points To distribute)

Backstory: Izumi's father owns a sword dojo specializing in battojutsu, a technique that is very useful in assassinations. It's a small dojo that avoids attention, but the techniques are highly valued among ninja and so many students go on to attend the Taimanin school. Izumi was no exception as her own sword skills surpassed even her fathers due to her sheer dedication to the art. Like many of her peers, she went on to join the Taimanin despite her fathers wish that she would take over the dojo. She felt it was her duty to use her sword to protect the people.

Izumi's skills would have made her a strong asset to the Taimanin however a heated sparring session with another student resulted in Izumi losing her right arm. It was her own fault of course, but deep down she had no love left for the Taimanin after the incident. This would cripple most swordsman's careers but Izumi refused to let her honor be soiled by giving up. She spent 2 years relearning her style with her left arm and picked up a few added techniques on the way. She would never be what she was, but she was still more than a match for the rest of her peers.

Izumi went on to have a successful run with the Taimanin, after all, losing an arm hadn't stopped her so there was no way she'd let a demon get the best of her. And indeed, it was no demon that ended her life with the Taimanin but a gang of humans, albeit a rather large gang of over 20, that took her down when she took a turn down the wrong alley. Of course Izumi took them all down with her, but the gunshot and stab wounds she sustained in the process were too much. She collapsed once the battle was done and was bleeding out rather rapidly.

Surprisingly, it was the Red Mane who came to her rescue. They took her in, treated her many wounds, and planned to torture her for information of course when she awoke. Izumi would never give up information of the Taimanin, but she also felt she owed a debt to the Red Mane for saving her life. So she struck a deal. She wouldn't give up any information, but she would work as an enforcer for the Red Mane.

Her life as an enforcer was a comfortable one, but the work left a bad taste in her mouth. Still, it's better than torture or being stuck in a brothel and the debt she owes for her life is a big one. Her honor telling her both to leave and to stay, Izumi has taken up smoking and drinking to cope with the stress. She is still motivated to do good when she can, but there is a certain harshness to her these days.

Main Weapon: Katana
Sub Weapons: Kunai, smoke bombs, and a specially made chain with an iron claw attached to the end. All of these weapons are concealed in and deployed mechanically from the sleeve of her missing arm.

Specialty: No Second Strike Needed - Izumi's battojutsu is second to none, and her first strike is often her last. She gains +2 to rolls on her first strike on a target.
Weakness: Heart of the Sword Izumi despises an unfair fight. She receives -1 to attack rolls in fights where she outnumbers her opponents and -1 to defense rolls in fights where her opponents outnumber her.

Ninja Art/ Special Technique: Chain Batto Izumi binds her target with her chain, rendering them immobile and vulnerable to the full force of her Battojutsu which often decapitates or bisects them in a single swing.

Your character looks good MelissaB. For Shadow Clone, Use an Int Roll to determine success.

Yours as well FragranceofMtDew. For Chain Batto, Use a Dex Roll to determine success

Your in Meep, use a Con roll when using Volcanic Dermis

Cryosabre: Use a Cha roll for your new ability. Other then that it all looks good. I thing the balance of power has actually shifted.

With that I think we have enough characters. I'm going to close applications for now. Once the last Character sheets come in I'll start the RP.

For the Taimanin Side:
Do you want to start close to the safehouse or just arriving at Tokyo Kingdom.

Mark It's probably best to put all the taimanin's in a safe house to begin with, or at least i know me and Reaver are happy to already be in Tokyo Kingdom.
