So I just realized that I missed MelissaB's post which sorta changes the entire layout of the battle including Meep's location. I can't change the post now. However, just for this turn do you guys mind if I give Mel's character priority? So when I make my next post Zera gets first strike?

Ok thinking it over, I'm going to edit the scene into the Penthouse to include the 20 shadow clones that Zera tried to create. Since they are going to be used for combat I'm still going to make rolls for all 20 of them. That includes the diminishing return on using a special technique multiple times. Hopefully this works out, Meeps was still outside the bathroom and Yumiko never made a post to confirm she entered the bathroom.

I'm mainly doing this because I feel shitty for making other people feel excluded. I've been waiting to start an RP on this forum for a long time and I don't what people to leave my first RP here with a bad taste there mouth. I'm sorry to put Goryokaku and Cryosabre in an awkward position. If you need to edit your posts after I make the changes feel free to.

Don't blame yourself Mark, sometimes people attitudes get a bit frayed in PvP or any conflict/tension and there's not much you can do about it. Just press on and know that everyone else is still grateful for you running something.

@ exalted & Meep

Thanks for the support. Other then a few road bumps. This has been going pretty well

@ Everyone

I edited the my last post to try and fit in as much of Mel's content from her post as I could, For the shadow clone rolls, I had to stop adding diminishing returns once I reached -19 at the 11th clone. The only two you were able to summon were due to natural 20s. But I think this should be a fair compromise. Plus you did get a hit in. In other news, the dice still seem to hate Zender.

I have a question, when throwing large objects, do I use a strength roll to hit or a dex roll? Considering you don't particularly aim when chucking large stuff over simply putting a lot of elbowgrease into it xD

Yea if it's a large object you use Strength just to get a handle on it.

Don't worry about it Mark, from the sounds of it I don't even need to edit my post so all is well ^^. Also you're running a great game so far, thanks for putting it up =]

Mark, you're doing a fine job, honestly. Attitudes are something people have to manage for themselves, not you. You can try to accommodate them, but sometimes it'll get too out of hand. Either way, what I'm saying is you're doing real good. Keep on keeping on.

You are doing a good job, most gms would give up on the pvp aspect by now XD

Onto other things! Now this is the first time looking at everything and I'm kinda confused. Also I would appreciate it if no one else would respond to my questions since I'm asking Mark but believe this information is relevant to everyone so I'm posting it here. If a Ninja art with an AoE needs a turn to charge after activating it wouldn't that mean that Meeps poison aoe should happen next turn instead of immediately? Also obviously I'm kinda concerned about the ability to spam a ninja art 20 times and have it benefit the user. Perhaps fight-lasting stat debuffs since its supposed to drain the user each time, that way players will be less likely of using it over and over again with reckless abandon. I do realize that PvP is usually when most of the balancing problems start showing up since most rp mechanics are tailored towards fighting NPCs not other players that can be on the same level or even stronger. Also apologies for not posting yet my work schedule took an unexpected turn and I don't think I'll be able to post until much later tonight.

and you don't think rolling a 1 on your fly spell falling loudly onto the roof then blasting welcome to the jungle before you attacked requires you to suffer in some form? in fact no you don't that was quite obvious when you said "don't be salty we got the drop on you." So lets put it another way... there is a draw back I am no longer able to use my ability except on a nat 20 meaning i would not be able to use it for anything now unless i wanted to throw my turn away

speaking of aoe meeps ability.. at least one of you used an aoe attack when breaching the room... meaning a full round before the combat started was used as charge up. meaning meeps was perfectly allowed to use the aoe. Now i know you asked for Mark to answer but well I thought most of this was self explanatory and balancing on my power coming from "I can do anything because magic?" really classy...

*Cracks Fingers*

Ok first I see the gas that Meeps releases from using her ability as more of an after effect and not a legitimate attack. Plus if she had used it without warning her partners then I would have made it effect everyone in the room.

Goryo's abilitiy is different in that it can damage and is uses a stronger posion. Plus :
Mark3000 Wrote:So I'm going to put a delay on Goryo's Crimson Lotus because it is pretty strong. The attack will trigger on her next turn.

This turn Goryo activated Crimson Lotus, Next turn it affects will come into play plus she'll still have her standard action for that turn.

Mel's 20 Shadow clones, and Goryo's AOE attack were all prepared before hand so they activated on the first turn. And like Mel said she has suffered a penalty. -19 to her Technique roll. I think that's fair right. Plus I expected Mel's character wouldn't reach 20 shadow clones. I really had to hold my self back when natural 1's started to appear though. I let them slide because I owed Mel for missing her post. If you try this again and you get a natural 1 oh boy.

I don't particularly feel that it's fair to make Mark roll 20 times. I'm not even in the PvP combat, but from a GM's standpoint, it's unnecessary work and completely exhausting.

thanks Icaelus.... that is about as helpful as a cock flavored lollipop.

Edit

Regarding natural 1s.... if I am making an action there isn't actually a downside like there is when defending an attack otherwise the two nat 1s Jill has rolled both for flying onto the roof and then attacking us should result more than landing hard and dropping her weapon...

Hoh. I like your attitude. Cock flavored lollipop. What an idea. If you're really unhappy about how things are turning out, I suggest you find a different way to do things before we overload Mark.
I can't defend Reaver on one point about the magic. Magic was never made clear in this RP about it's limitations, so that should really be cleared up ASAP. However, if you really think of matching him by continuously spamming a specialty skill of what I guess was originally supposed to be a finisher or something along those lines, I can say that you're incredibly immature. That much, however was evident in your previous statement when you dismissed me like that. I had really liked the way you played Zed out and how you were writing Zera, but that doesn't mean much when it's all devolving into a massive shitstorm that you obviously love stirring around so much.

As for changes for balance, I recommend imposing a cooldown on Ninja Arts. A ninja art or special technique is MEANT to be powerful. It's not a machinegun tool for you to be spammed continuously till you win, for heaven's sake.
Is that more helpful that a cock flavored lollipop now? Perhaps it's worthy of at least strawberry. You judge.

was just using that as an excuse to quote dodgeball.

though thanks for the compliment on Zera and how I am rping her. Moving on her move was never a finisher. it was something to be used as a dodge or an attack but never to finish someone off, just to attack and do damage as well as avoid it. Regarding me spamming the ability 20 times (he actually only rolled 11) While still more than it should of been was I admit a bit childish of me to fight fire with fire but since I wasn't getting anywhere arguing against reaver's ability to do absolutely anything he wanted i decided I might as well join him because lets be fair he was getting away with fucking murder.

Regarding my direct comment to you. That was because you threw your voice in to say you disapproved of my actions on the basis it made the gm roll 19 more times than he should of had to... technically only 10 but that wasn't your comment. The gm had to roll dice anyway.... it is very easy to roll a dice and apply a modifier to it... yes it's work but I didn't force mark to go back and make the changes he did. What you did was basically throw in your two cents to which I replied rather insulting that it wasn't a helpful fucking thing to do. Which you took offence to.

but no... you're still not being helpful... just making me explain my actions.
