This might not be the place to advertise this, but would anyone be willing to join me on a weekly/time whatever tabletop game called Nechronica?
It's kind of super fucked up, but the combat system is solid and the mechanics allow for some interesting storytelling since Communication is literally a skill that needs to be used if you don't want your character to lose it.
Basic outline:
The world is dead. A world war pushed humanity to the brink of collapse. Then the Necromancer(s) showed up and pushed it over the edge. Now all that's left is the hordes of walking dead and... you.
A Doll. A patchwork corpse returned to sentience, given back a heart and emotions by the Necromancer so they can toy with you. Your body will break dozens of times over, but you can put yourself back together with the parts of your enemies. Best not to get attached to that one arm. The only way to truly die is to be 100% annihilated or to be Heart Broken. Madness mechanics, ho! Fight through the remains of a dead world, desperately searching for your forgotten memories and trying to survive. You have your siblings, the other Dolls and your 'treasure' to keep you sane. But how long will that last?
FIND OUT NEXT TIME!
I plan to host a game as practice in a few weeks, maybe early next year (all things considering). I'll also be re-writing some of the translated rule book, as the author of this game is the same as Maid RPG, some of his... tastes persist in it as mechanical necessities. Plus some re-wording can help people understand the mechanics and nerfing that one skill that lets you make potentially 14 attacks a turn.
So... yeah.
That.
