Yo I've been considering Gming an Rp based on the movie Stardust. Its quite fantastic world itself and overall I'm not sure how to set the system I would want to use for the rp. So I was hoping someone would take the reins or just help me set it up.

the system has magic and sword fighting and but beyond that it isn't as otherworldly as dnd. so perhaps a simpler a dnd thing and spells seem to be more will to cause intent rather than scripted so you should try and use that to reflect mechanics.

an easier way of setting spells up (for those that have them) forr be for them to describe a spell they want and for you to apply mechanics too it.

the more medieval aspect of combat would be easy enough to figure out give stats and rolls to work them out.

Well while that idea is under works the only other idea I had was well a sort of fish out of water post apocalyptic scenario. The premise is a group of chosen individuals have been selected in either a raffle or for whatever special reason associated with them.

Basic idea everyone is Cryogenically asleep and they end up waking up in a sort of post apocalyptic era. And not the classic death radiation and desert. I mean who the fuck knows how long big jungles overgrowth the only things remaining is what you brought and the building and monuments still standing as they were rooted in by the earth.

Rather than looking at workers, she was looking at all of you like grade A pieces of meat.
Smoothly, she said "Welcome, Future Employees, to Evil Inc. We are the business that supplies the most cutting edge equipment and merchandise to Villains and Wrongdoers around the world."
She pushed up her glasses, causing her rather impressive chest to bounce and the zipper on her dress to fall just a bit lower.
The atmosphere of the room changes as she says, "Frankly, I don't care how the work here is done, just so long as it is done on time and in a way that the numbers are to the company's advantage."
She continues, "So: Lie, Cheat, steal, Intimidate, Murder. Do whatever it takes to make it to the top. If you're bad enough..." she said, slowly unzipping the dress the rest of the way, revealing she was, in fact, not wearing anything underneath.
"You just might get to replace my position as CEO. So, let's get to work, shall we?"
With the image of her body still on your minds, you to your cubicle.

Basically, this is a modern fantasy (again!) focused on the Cut throat world of companies. Rather than help each other, players are set against each other in order to make their way to the top while sabotaging the competition.
There's gonna be a 'day' and 'night' cycle that limits how much you can get done in a day.

Honestly there's no real answer to that. You can ask about setting up a private game, where you can have your own personal RP with a good GM, but if you want to join a group, all you have to do is look things over and see what tickles you fancy. Are you into a medieval setting or a futuristic setting? Do you want to fight or fuck, or both? Really, that depends on your own taste, and knowing just how active the group RP is.

I want a little bit of everything!!!! But honestly I prefer Medieval settings the most, there is something about swinging a huge ass sword that I love. I have no problem with futuristic, I would just substitute big ass sword for big ass gun

It's a very interesting concept to say the least. I've always liked stuff like this which pits you as the villain in situations. If you ever decide to do this I would be more than happy to join up and participate in being an evil business worker. I do have one question though, what would we have to do exactly? I understand that we would be in a kind of office like setting, but it would be a bit beneficial to know if we have to do shit loads of paperwork or at least wait for someone else to do said paperwork before stealing it.

I had an idea for a type of summoned creature that would be the equivalent of an automated administrator to do your paperwork, just to free time to plot.
As for making it to the top, go crazy.
Steal paperwork, and lie to your boss that it's yours. Murder someone on top of you on the promotion list. Sleep with one of the higher ups.
Do whatever you can and want to do to make it happen. And of course, you can sabotage other people, including the other players. Just make sure you don't get caught.
