Had an idea for a group game recently, so I guess I would post here to probe for interest/suggestions.
The basic rub is the player characters would take the part of formless entities brought into being by a monstrous deity, either as blank slates or maybe as reincarnated humans (solely for people wanting to characterize the blob). Depending on character creation choices (considering having broad categories, like "humanoid" "beast" "aberration"), the entity takes on the form of a different RPG monster, and through choices made in-character, ala litRPGs, gaining new traits/abilities and going down different pathways to become stronger/more advanced monsters of that class.
So, someone who decides to become, say, a slime, might just start off as a little blob with a few traits associated with being a puddle of goop (blindsense, stretchy, ect). If the player has them spend a lot of time around human settlements, they might advance to become a slimegirl if they find themselves mimicking/seducing humans, or become something more predatory like an ooze if they primarily hunt instead of fuck. Someone bestial might start off as a basic wolf or other animal who approaches situations forcefully and without mercy might advance towards becoming a minotaur, whereas someone who tries to employ trickery and cunning might become a kitsune, and someone who coordinates with other monsters into something like a werewolf.
It'd require a little bit of back and forth between player and GM (but I don't wanna be a harpy!), but I think it'd be fun.
