Mounting With Bones (flash cs5)

Postby Toyloli » Sun Dec 09, 2012 12:13 pm

Okay, so I've been trying now for a week or so and I really need help and advice here.
I'm working on a flash project where I have a character who (much like a lot of flash games) I want to be able to animate a character as naked, and then be able to mount clothing, shading, or other stuff onto the skeleton.
My intention is that the 'shadow' objects will be made interchangable with items of clothing (a different item on each frame inside each object)

I've been told that such a thing is possible, but for the life of me I cannot get a skeleton to work where the shading bits move appropriately over the colour and well...
Just please look at my project, tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to correctly mount objects to my base skeleton.

Thankyou in advance

I did not understand you a little (language barrier) - but if you want just make a charecter - animate its motion one time and than changing a component make him look armored naked and etc in your animation it is possible to make.

I know 3-4 ways 2 of them is easy to make.

Just make character components move its rotation point. Animate it all with all components you need. Then if you want to make some of them invisible change its visiability to false and you will not se them.

Or you can make it like movie clip and then make a lot of armores in it. Animate it and then when you wil change what armor to play it will show you your animation with different armors.

But i do not know how to do it with some skeleton or etc - i do not like undead it is not sexy you know ;)

Just jouking

Try to look this:

Or try to find Cortas Charecter Template on forum. It is better to look how components and animation are made some times may be you get an idea how is better to make it for your project.

I was actually meaning, using the bone tool I was told I can 'attach' an object to a body part on an existing skeleton.
Like, if I had arm guards I could attach them to the arm so they move like it does.
But I have been reading the resources here and I think I can make things work anyhow. Thankyou for the links.
I'm slowly putting together animations - once I have something to show I will post information on the project in this website. Hopefully that won't take too long.

Can't you just put that object inside the body part symbol? This is what I'm taking about: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2894 .

In Flash the easiest way to do this is how Katsu suggests by embedding your body parts with sub movie clips that represent different armors etc. This is what I do for my games, at least. You can bone and animate a base model, then have flash call in the sub graphics (nude, armor, etc) while running.
