OverWhored 2, and where it can improve

So Cypress Zeta is going to be in the pre-production stage for Overwhored 2. I was excited for this, so much so I downloaded the first game again. Although the game is still good, There are deffinetly some things that need to be fixed.

First the Good:
I actually love the philosophy of the game's story (not often you can say that about a porn game). One of the main philosophies I noticed can be attributed to the quote by Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." This can be seen with each of the Original heroes that defeated the Overmind. Nanshe falls into disgrace with toying with the dead, Branda becomes a totalitarian dictator, Audr tries to "save" a species by whitewashing their culture out of existence, Bilbine becomes a facist alt-right leader, Ilmatar ends up destorying an entire continent, and Rubati the cult leader.

There's not much grinding needed in the game: I think that I simply fought every battle that came my way up to the Graveyard. After that, I was powerful enough that I was able to get everything done and by fighting the least amount of battles, while still having a butt load of cash. I bought everything by the point Brenda joined the party (Not including Black smith stuff), and still had a bunch of cash to upgrade my gear.

The Game is Short, but that's not a bad thing. I probably spent 10 hrs and 20 minutes in Overwhored, and it felt like the appropriate length for the game and it's world.

It's still fun, and funny: I do like the tongue and cheek humor in the game, and the visual style make it worth playing over and over again.

But here is where the sequel can improve on the first

Battle combat stances: There were many times where I planned out my strategy and pressed start, only to have the first move be my opponent transferring from normal to counter attack mode. If I knew this prior, I would have chosen a different strategy, but instead I am forced to watch my party get annihilated. The sequel should have stances transfer at the end of a turn, so that you have the time to change strategies.

Random spikes in difficulty: FUCK BILBINE AND HER LITTLE C*NT EGG MACHINE! Seriously that level is a major difficulty jump for no solid reason. Your expected to go from the mansion, through a set of caves with enemies in them, Pick a side at a fork in those caves, and one side leads to a dead end, all while battling enemies, you then enter the factory where you need to avoid more enemies (which is much easier said then done.) And after that your expected to go through a mini-boss and the major boss, all in the same life you have, with no replenishments. Each boss refilled your HP and MP for that fight, but Bilbine's doesn't for some reason, which adds a major difficulty spike for no reason. I am stuck at that section now, though I remember beating it the first time but still feeling just as frustrated.

Past that, If Cypress can fix that, then OverWhored 2 could be an Amazing game!

******************************************************************************
Edit-
Ok so I just beat the game last night, and i have a couple more complaints, but the main one's are still relevant. So the Angel in the Lava section is another difficulty spike, especially in comparison to the other 2. I had to use the Mega Elixer after that battle, just to get through the other 2 (Yes I did that boss, first, and I highly regret it). Also, your party seems to be pre-chosen once you face the angels. That being Rubati, Branda, and then one spot for any character. Branda 100% needed, because her special moves are O.P.A.F. The next best character you want to have then is Rubati, because she is the designated healer, and that allows the Overmind to focus on attacks and orders, instead of health. And despite the fact that there is one spot still open, your going to choose Llmanter, because she she can do ice magic for less M.P. than Nanshe, but that means that I didn't even get to bother with playing with Audr and Bilbine, because they are weaker in comparison to Branda's main attacks. (But if you were like me, your main team was Nanshe, Skree, and Branda up to that point anyway.)

Also the ending felt a bit rushed. Despite the fact that the game tells you to explore, there is nothing in the tower worth fighting monsters to get. You can get a strong club (which is useless since you don't have any characters who use that anymore) and a helmet. And despite the fact that each boss angel has a cool level to explore (Minus the lava one, because of all the damage tiles) you are going to be saving every few minutes and dodging enemies left and right, because you don't want to waste any M.P. or H.P. on a stupid monster. The Elven tomb is the only exception since you do get refilled before fighting that angel.

And I know that there was supposed to be an expansion pack where you can invade heaven, but I didn't get that in the main download, so everything seems pretty underwhelming when things end. The world is now a sandbox...but there is nothing new to do. You get Joy in the harem...but she just alludes to the expansion pack and that's it. You can interact with your Harem...but the only character with new scenes is Rubati.

Also, I decided not to interact with the slave girls in this playthrough, because I knew that impregnating them made them tougher, so I was thinking that maybe not interacting with them might open a secret ending....Nope, doesn't matter what you do, they still become O.P. Angels.

Overall, Overwhored was still fun to play through...but it's obvious the game hasn't aged well. But the sequel could fix all those issues.
Morals don't apply to me. I'm a Bear made of Cheese.
