I'm interested in making a TCG type of game, maybe inspired by this one called Furoticon, but first I'm curious about the interest of everyone for this type of game, so your opinion is more than welcome here.
I'm a programmer, so the art department will be an issue probably...
I'll make it using
Unity Java(I started working on it), the tool that I'm mostly familiar with and I know that it's not a piece of cake to make this type of game but I'm confident in my skills anyway
That's it for now, if I have any new information I'll update this post.

I'm a big fan of card games, but I often find the problem with them to be either lack of balance or depth, or both. Few games can overcome both this issues.
Card games are really hard to balance due to the gigantic amount of possible card combinations someone can play, which makes it impossible to foresee everything the players will come up with. Trying to avoid this problem, a lot of developers make the game too simple, which leads to lack of depth.
Of course, if your game is going to be just player vs AI, being more casual, you don't need to care too much about this stuff. I haven't tried Furoticon (no digital version, right?), but I think the idea is very interesting.

I agree about the balance aspect, that's why I'm not planning to do a multiplayer to the game.
Furoticon was going to have an online version, but it got cancelled.

Plus multiplayer will be a bit of a nightmare to even pull off, especially if you're going to be working this by yourself.
The best advice will be to make a physical version of the game before making a digital version. The best way will be to use Tabletop Simulator where you can have the cards and get other people you know to test the card game out.

I like TCGs. A lot of RL CCGs have made good video game versions. Besides the real-life CCGs, maybe look at some of the old RPG side card games, Triple Triad and Tetra Master from Final Fantasy, and Digimon World 3 had an amazing one.
As for simplicity/depth, my favorite CCG was Duel Masters, which was relatively simple, but MUCH faster than most other card games, which also added a level of excitement that most other CCG don't deliver. MagiNation was a niche CCG that was very complicated, almost RPG-like, a lot of fun, but a massive undertaking to play. Digimon World 3's Card Battle was on the quick and simple side again, and mostly you just win by having the best cards (or combinations thereof), which was sort of nice to have in a video game, since it gave you a reason to go looking for better and better cards.

Aw man i loved DW3 card battle. Almost went as far as getting physical copies made of each card in the game.
Not usually a big card game fan but i love it when something gives me that mental spark, so im interested.
