New game (WHH): need professional perverts for brainstorming

Hi people,

Some of you may know me from being the animator for LoK:Rebirth, though I’m also imagining many poker faces right now... understandable as we didn’t release a demo yet.

Anyway, of what I’m pretty sure is that nobody will know that I also have my own game that I left parked to work with Kuja and Spartacus in LoK:R, back in December. And now that the initial development of LoK:R is more or less on rails, I'm going to resume work on it. To be more precise I will retake the project with Kuja as artist, because the previous graphics I commissioned were… far from optimal, let’s say. So yes, what I’m saying is that apart from LoK:R we will also create another game with a totally different setting and game mechanics.

It goes without saying that I consider a privilege partnering with Kuja for this endeavor. Before having him on the same boat I didn’t pictured myself delivering good quality graphics, but now… the sky’s the limit. And that’s the main reason why I’m posting this. I need help from people around these parts, knowledgeable about h-games, who have deeply breathed the fragrances of our underground world and are competent at character and world creation, because the scope of this game has grown thanks to Kuja being on the team. In other words: let’s brainstorm a little!

So… what is my game about? Well, first I’ll call it ‘WHH’ from now on for simplicity purposes (what that acronym stands for I’ll tell you in the future), and then I’ll try to explain…:

  • WHH will be an original art 2d side-scroller skeletal-animated game based on Unity, just as LoK:R.
  • It also aims to be a visual novel and a management game.
  • WHH revolves about a recently graduated high school girl that decides to take a summer job as a waitress in a small restaurant that has seen better times. Then it tells the struggles of that girl in a foreign city, throughout a warm summer filled of even hotter events and molestation attempts from… basically every male in the game.
  • Finally, it will let you control not only the girl as the protagonist, but also other important characters with their own agendas.

Main characters

WAITRESS
Age: 18
Personality: Charming, pure hearted moe-style (read: ‘naive as hell’). The only child of a benevolent but protective family.
Motivations: Wants to take a head start at living in the ‘big city’ where she will study in college, so instead of moving just before the first term starts, she accepts a job over the telephone and trusts his new boss to talk with a friend of him that has a cheap apartment to rent… (could relocating to another city be really that easy??)

BOSS (restaurant owner)
Age: 70+
Personality: Serious, old fashioned, honest worker. Not a bad person, but he’s also very, very stressed out in recent times…
Motivations: His first and foremost priority is to save his old restaurant from being seized by the bank if he doesn’t pay his debts within a month’s time. Therefore, he will resource to any means necessary to turn the business around. And if that includes employing an inexperienced and unsuspecting girl, knowing he won’t be able to pay her salary, so be it… although he’ll feel bad for that.

LANDLORD
Age: 50+
Personality: Dirty and ugly person both in the inside and the outside. He doesn’t care about anyone and sees women as either fuckholes or maids, sometimes both. ‘Misogyny’ is his second name. ‘Fat bastard’ his deserved nickname given by any woman he encounters.
Motivations: Actually, not many, because he owns a whole apartment block and doesn’t need to work at all to pay for his vices. That changes when he puts his eyes on the girl who comes on behalf of his “old friend” the restaurant owner, and makes the screwing of this innocent girl the number one quest of his life.

There will be other NPCs with secondary roles in the plot and events, but these three are the really important ones.


Game description

The gist of the game is that you control the girl serving tables during work days. The girl is damn pretty so the customers start to return even when the food is fucking awful. Some people start to ogle at the girl and making ‘almost’ inaudible comments on the unnatural size of her assets. All of this very normal and even plausible to occur in real life.

But then the owner notices the leering and moderately (yet not enough) bigger cash at the end of day, and sees an opportunity for saving his restaurant… Truth is, he only employed the girl because he needed someone young to take over serving tables (he falls and hurts his arm in the game intro), but didn’t expected at any point that a so beautiful chick would take a job at a rundown restaurant like his. And now that he’s realizing the effect she’s causing in the customers, not without shame and regret he’ll call the girl to his office and awkwardly try to explain that maybe, if she could accept wearing something… a little more… err… feminine (LOL), the mmmh… atmosphere of the place would be livelier and customers would be happier…?

And the girl, innocent as she is, accepts thinking that the new uniform will be cute. And truth be told it is, but in a way that will indeed turn customers VERY happy about coming back to get poisoned by the food, if that means taking a glimpse of her bare skin. And then, my friends, things start to escalate... :twisted:

That for the restaurant side, but there will be much to do outside as well.

Every work day she will return to her apartment, which is located under the landlord’s own. That allows for some story-telling and some sim-life mechanics. She could go on several activities like going to jog at the park, staying at home for some R&R, take a shower and watch a movie, etc. As I said, there’s no limit for this if Kuja helps me in the graphical department.

Now, those activities could have some impact on her stats, as in every simulation/RPG game. I don’t want overly complicated stats here, but it’d be nice if you have some boost in the restaurant section of the game, like a faster walking speed because you’re fit or, if you’re more charismatic, lesser penalties when you lose a (non-molester) customer due to not serving his table correctly. Well, I don’t know. This is precisely why I’d need your help, guys.

And finally, when the time for the girl to sleep comes, you take control of the landlord…

This section is pretty much like a different game. To be honest I’ve had my doubts about including it in the initial development and thought of introducing the character only when it was clear that you people liked the project overall. But then I changed my mind because this is something I’d love myself, as the voyeuristic and molesting fetish bitch I am.

So… you are now a fat, ugly and very bad person that happens to be the landlord of a young, innocent but hot as hell girl downstairs… and you obviously have a spare set of keys… :roll:

For this part I have some ideas already, but I need more people! Give me MOAR! And now I’ll shut up my mouth and let you guys open yours. Don’t mind me if you see I don’t reply immediately. I’d like to see how it flows between you before I reenter the fray. Many thanks in advance for your input!

Eeh... i wish to help, but... this kind of stories just do not excite me really. Like "pure-hearted girl", "bunch of ugly perverts" and a lot of molestation. I mean, okay, molestation is okay for me in games, but not when i play as a girl. It's almost everytime really boring for me, when i should be "victim" in games. But it can be only for me. And even if I forget about it ... I just do not really like stories about the real world or/and everyday life. I'm more attracted to stories with a completely fantastic setting, a mystic or something like this.
But anyway, good luck guys. Ah... and one more thing. You may want to try "UMICHAN MAIKO CLASSROOM HAVOC" from Vortex00. It may be interesting for you, because its plot have some similarity with your idea. It can give you some ideas or inspiration. Sorry again, that i can't help more :(

Thank you Gidshiri. I think I've played that one several months back, but it was in 'demo state' so to speak. I'll take a look and see how has evolved. That one is more visual novel style than mine will be, but inspiration comes from the little details, not the whole picture.

And for the rest of people reading this, I think I need to clarify the nature of the help I'd like from you guys. When I say "let's brainstorm together" I'm not saying it in the sense of creating a 'study group' or a formal design team. Your contribution could be something as simple as "I think the landlord could install some spy cams when the girl is working at the restaurant" or "Have you thought of some kind of 'combat' mechanic' to avoid her being groped too much when serving tables?"

Don't be ashamed of suggesting anything. Of course I won't be able to implement everything you throw my way. Some things would conflict with the main plot I've thought about, while others would be too complex and time consuming to work on, due this project counting only on me to do everything except the art. But do not let that stop you from proposing anything that crosses your kinky minds. :roll:

Oh, and of course anything that gets into the game and it's fruit of your imagination will gain you an honorable mention in the credits and extra consideration when I open my Patreon.

Just don't take on too much at once, I've seen creators get burnout after trying to do multiple projects at one time and done it myself. Glad to see that you've developed a good working relationship for future projects though, and if you're going to quit your day job to make H-games an expanded portfolio is definitely valuable. I'm normally a fountain of inappropriate ideas, but to be honest I don't have much interest in this scenario and I can't make the hamster turn the gears. Maybe dream sequences that get increasingly lewd as the game progresses, depending on how player choices impact her mental state?

If you're looking for inspiration, don't limit yourself to H-games. There are plenty of waitressing casual games for gameplay stuff, and anime that revolve around waitressing for plot and ecchi stuff.

(this stuff might be a little too different from what you want, but here it is, just in case)

I'll repeat Gidshiri's concern about molestation. I'm not a huge fan of porn stories with ugly dudes or if the girl's not enjoying it, that's a big boner killer for me.

This kinda reminds me of Baby Sitters' Club 2, which I liked. The main character is naive and often tricked into sex or essentially pimped out by various people, but it's hard to feel sorry for her because she'll do anything for a dollar and is kind of an idiot. The humor also made some of the darker sexual acts easier to swallow.

So maybe instead of a gross landlord screwing her while she sleeps, the protag's got some sister or friend or milfy neighbor who installs hidden cameras or does photoshoots of her and gives the protag a cut of the profits from selling dirty pics online. The business partner says something like "hey, if you sleep in the nude I'll pay your rent this week!" and the protag thinks "huh, sounds good to me" not quite understanding that she's being exploited for profit.

If it was me, I'd try to link the waitressing and landlord components a little more. Like, Aunt Milfy owns a restraunt, she offers to let the protag live in her guestroom as long as she works for it. Maybe a cousin who cooks at the restraunt gives her the sexy outfits, and a cousin who is in photography school or journalism school tricks the protag into getting photographed in naughty situations. Maybe the photographer gives her some sort of pornstar name, like Ginger Jiggly, and the cook starts advertising the restraunt as the place that Ginger Jiggly works.

If the protag has come to the big city to become an actress, that could give you some easy material. Like, someone tells her, "Hey, I got you some work as a sex scene stunt double. For movies like this, they use second actress to do the sex scenes for the main actress, so that she's not walking funny for the rest of the movie. That'll be you!" but actually, it's just a porno. Or, "I just heard of this great acting practice. Try to recite your lines with this cucumber shoved up your vaj! Only a real pro can do it!" Or, "You know, a lot of actresses will refuse to take girl-on-girl roles. If we make an audition tape of you doing girl-on-girl stuff, it'll increase your chances of getting an acting gig!"

Something that comes to my mind:

1. How about reverse system of groping? Like - when some pervert grope heroine in restaraunt player do some mini game... but not for escaping of heroine. No, he tried to escalate molestation more. Like, for example, scene have some limited time bar, but we can extend this or cause an additional scene if we win a mini game. Reward - more corruption/lewdness (if game will have something like this) and/or more tips for girl.

2. Eh... maybe some classic stuff for this kind of games... like molestation in public transport. In train or bus maybe, when she go to work. Not sure.

3. Some ways to self-corruption. Masturbation, webcam playing or maybe, for example, she may deciding wear or not to wear her panties when she dressing in the morning (if she lewd enough for this maybe?). Something like this.

Not sure about this, but at least i'm tried come up something :)

I've never been too keen on the "ugly bastard" thing, so I'd vote that the land lord be an average looking 30 or 40 something, (maybe he's the restaurant owner's nephew?) This also adds a possibly for him to have a marriage that is falling apart, and be having a midlife crisis (potential for buying a sports car and showing it off to the girl, driving her around and getting a bit handsy on the trip). Depending on the player's actions (IE, flirting with him, but not letting him touch) he could get more and more depraved and creepy, to the point where he actually would break into the girl's apartment while she was sleeping and steal/masturbate onto her underwear. in addition to the cameras, holes in the walls & etc that are sure to be in the game already.

I would also like to see multiple ways to play the game, so being a waitress might get you the most erotica out of your run, but if you, say, focused on a cooking skill, you could make food that people actually enjoy eating, and would come back for, leading to a much more wholesome ending (because that's what everyone looks for in a porn game, right?) Other potential options could include: turning the restaurant into a brothel (under the radar of course), using it as a front to deal drugs, launder money, host illegal dog fights, and the natural culmination of all of those: a restaurant with high-quality food that you can eat while avoiding taxes, and watching meth-addicted dogs have sex with the MC. Maybe not that last one.

As far as the restaurant owner, I'd suggest an injury at least slightly more serious than an injured arm, one that would require physical therapy or otherwise limit his ability to work long hours, allowing the player to take a role in the management and logistics side of the business, and granting access (with some kind of Economics skill) to aforementioned money laundering options. Obviously, that would be a 'time permitting' feature, so not much depth, but y'know, economics are also probably not the biggest draw of a porn game.

Also a social life aspect would allow things such as having friends to help you relax (maybe add a stress mechanic?) a boyfriend/girlfriend that could have all sorts of effects on gameplay, especially if there were a few options with different personalities, like a bonus to a certain skill and a penalty to others (IE, a prudish significant other could reduce your willingness to wear skimpy clothes and be groped, but increase your skill gain, since they spend more time helping you improve as a person, and less time trying to get into your pants). Also, your friends could ask for favors from you, ranging from "I'm going out of town, could you feed by fish while I'm gone?" to "My boyfriend and I are looking for ways to spice things up in the bedroom, mind if we tie you up and have a 3-some?" (Maybe a pet-sitting task that can result in bestiality, depending on how depraved your character is?)

Obviously, many of these would take significant dev time, and I have very little idea of what the mechanics of your game will be (I'm assuming there will be skills) so feel free to pick and choose, or throw them all in the trash. If I could pick a single one of these to be included, it would probably be the social life aspect, which is, unfortunately, probably the most time and resource intense out of all of them.

Yeah, I'm leaving my regular job in two months. It's a big leap of faith, but after nine months using up all my free time, I've realized that if I want to make this work then I'll need to get deadly serious about it. And being able to work and learn 10 hours/day, 5 days per week will make all the difference. Moreover, if my family's livelihood depends on me delivering good games, then I can't possibly get burnt out. I won't have that option. :)

Yeah! In fact the restaurant stage is heavily based on an existing casual game. When I played that one I couldn't avoid thinking... "Mmm, that girl is hot but look at those guys, they look like street thugs and don't put a hand on that butt even once. It's an outrage!" And so WHH was conceived to free the world from the tyranny of politically correct games. :lol:

Then I've been pretty bad at explaining myself in the OP. The key word here is 'reluctant': there's not going to be plain rape at any point in the game. When I say 'molesting' I'm thinking about "to make indecent sexual advances to". How the girl reacts to those advances will be her business according to her level of 'corruption'.

The only escalation from this will be the landlord guy, who I want to picture as a real bastard, within some (small) limits. Writing the script for this guy will be challenging... :roll: When you take control of him you'll be able to do anything you want, but the more risque actions will require a comprehensive work of previous blackmail/leverage/grooming/corruption or a 'Game Over' event will take place. Games like 'Library's Story' or 'Cohabitation' take this approach, more or less.

IKR?! :lol: You know that show that's called '1000 ways to die'? They make an effort at presenting people as stupid morons, and only when they're sure you'll have no problem at seeing their well deserved deaths, they horribly die. I remember one instance in which six bikini-clad girls got electrocuted in a car wash service, and the pretext for that distressing loss of prime quality pussy was that they were pretending to be college students raising a charity when they actually were professional strippers. So the moral message there was that erotic dancers were death deserving people. :lol: Sorry, not working for me.

There are good ideas in these. I cannot change the plot so much as to implement them word by word, but that's how inspiration works: take a little thread and pull at the tip until the rest unravels.

I have an attractive young guy planned for being the (abysmal) cook at the restaurant. In my head he's gonna be a 'bad boy' trope, with maybe some connections to not so law abiding people/organizations. That guy could fit in the role of your cousin character with an even darker background.

I like this. It reminds me of that zombie-shooting minigame at 'A Zombie's Life', which was supposed to be needed to "break their will" and escalate sexual events. The creator dropped it from the game at some point, but in this case it could be fun and plausible. I'll need to come up with some mechanic that could be played with one hand only... :roll:

I thought of that. The current plot explains that she'll live at walking distance from the restaurant so that makes difficult to justify the event. However, it could happen when she goes to another location in the city (when I implement city events, ofc).

I won't lie: 'chikan' is indeed a huge turn on for me. But this is the kind of thing that will justify a poll to see if people wants me devoting time for it.

Oh yes, masturbation will have a chain of events, timidly at first, not so much at the end.

Webcam playing? You mean she streaming on the Internet, right? That could work because she will be hard pressed to obtain money to pay for the rent, and she definitely don't want her landlord to obtain more leverage over her. So she could prefer doing lewd things on camera instead...

And the "let's go to work with no panties..." would be justifiable when she's ready to add the thought "...because they'll have their way with me no matter if I wear them."

If I finally tune down that landlord character so you guys don't get freaked out, this is definitely a very good alternative. Deeper as well. With more complex motivations than just screw a pretty hole when it shows up.

About the girl flirting with the guy, well I don't picture her doing it on purpose being so Moe style (no gold-digging / cock-teasing here), but I definitely picture the guy having a lot of wishful thinking about his advances on her. He could become pretty obsessed with time, yes, and that opens a lot of possibilities. Being her sugar daddy without her realizing and the guy later on feeling entitled and trying to 'cash in'.

To be honest, I don't envision that kind of management coming from the girl. She's just a freshly graduated high school student and far too innocent to start behaving like an accountant for the Italian mob in the city. :roll:

But I had planned something for the boss. Simple restaurant management though. That character's motivation is saving the family restaurant, where his long gone wife worked with him and they raised their children. Turning the place into a crime den is not in his plans, although he will try to look the other way when things start to get messy with the girl ("She doesn't seem to mind, so as long as the restaurant is saved..."). Also, I have plans for him to get a little physical with the girl, so he needs to be up to the task and in reasonably good shape. :P

I thought about introducing a BF (to please NTR fans), but my initial script assumes that she's new in the city and doesn't know anybody apart from her boss, workmates and landlord. Ofc, that doesn't mean she couldn't meet more people when she starts to socialize in the city, but for that I'll need to introduce activities like those: going downtown, to the park, maybe to attend some summer courses in her future college, etc.

So there's room to implement what you suggest, but it won't be in the initial versions. All depends on how well the game is received (aka: if me and my family can live off its income). If people's happy and they want me to expand the game, then by all means it will happen. If not I'll move on to the next game on the list.

Thing is, this game was going to be a very simple one at first. Something with the only purpose of me being known a little bit by having finished a project. So it was going to be a casual waitress game... with porn. :P

But that was time ago, when my plan was to work on it half time and didn't knew Kuja and leaving my job was never an option. I know it looks presumptuous on my part to say that my first game will be memorable... but what you can take for granted is that I'll make all that is in my hands for that to happen. So scope overreaching is indeed a threat, but maybe not so much if I'm able to wisely prioritize tasks. We're already doing it for LoK:Rebirth.

I think the "pervert" stat do not working like this. It's more like that we all perverts... just in different ways, kinks, fetishes and etc. And we all insane in some aspects. So, don't worry :D

Some ideas that comes to my mind not so long ago.
1. How about she may blow some guys behind the restaurant or in the toilet maybe? It not so "hard" like prostitution, so it can be some moment on the way to a real things. Like when she is not lewd\corrupt enough for the real sex for money, but ready for some mouth working for the tips or more visitor for the restaraunt. After some time it may escalate to something more. Like glory hole in the man's toilet, for example.

2. What if she have some good girl friend? Girl from her old school\town or some relative, like cousin. This person decide come to her in a big town. Maybe even for the living with her. Maybe she have some dreams or hopes about big town. Like, she want to become a singer or maybe actress. But all of this requare money, place to live for the start and etc. So, our heroine can try to help her friend with this. They may start to live with each other (or sepparated) and work in the restaraunt. After this things can develop in different ways. If the main heroine is not corrupted, she may just want to help her friend.. and maybe from time to time, save her from the perverts in the restaraunt. If heroine already corrupted (but not totally), she may try to conveince her friend to be more gentle with the visitors (read as "Let perverts do whatever they want"). It this way they will falling into the darkness together. Step by step. Or the third way, if the heroine already have a title "Town's whore", she may just try force her friend to make dirty things with her. Or maybe her girl friend, after seen what she become, may try to save her in some way... with the bad consequences for herself. And this is just some of variants that can be used. It can be anyone. Some milf housewife next door, who just want some extra cash for her family (they have a big credit in the bank, for example). Or maybe tomboyish daughter of this housewife who just ended high school or near it, whom wants her own money for independence. Or maybe it just some random girl from the town, who just come to the restaraunt for work?
The main idea is add someone that will corrupting near the main heroine. Together with her or by her efforts. And of course this character will not appear from the start of game. Maybe after few weeks? Or month? Something like this. And interaction with this character may also not be limited to a restaurant. For example, if she shares a room with a corrupted heroine, heroine can try to "put" her under landlord... to pay their debt for the rent. Or, if the heroine not correupted it can be other way for her corruption. For purpose to defend her friend from all dirty side of a big town and perverts, she may to do some things, that she will never agreed in other situation.

Some quick introspective on why I don't like creepy gropey porn. Despite being a guy, when I watch porn, I tend to empathize more with the feelings of the women than the men. You usually see more of the woman, she's reacting to things, showing emotions, while the man is usually half out of shot with only his dick showing. So if, say, a creepy gross man is groping the hentai girl's butt, I can't help but imagine a creepy gross man groping my butt. (incidentally watching fellatio just makes me think about having a dick in my mouth, and not having my dick in someone else's mouth, I've heard of other people experiencing this too)

And to some extent, it's about the sense of "appeal". Why would you want to be around creepy people when you could be around beautiful people?

So there should be some room to compromise. If the girl is feeling creeped out, then I will feel creeped out, but if the girl has some moment like "wow, who would have thought getting oggled by strangers could be such a turn on!" or "if getting felt up gets me big tips like these, bring it on!" then I'll feel those feelings instead.
It can also be possible to distance the audience from the protagonist, for example, in Baby Sitter's Club, the protagonist is so comically greedy and foolish and unempathetic that I don't feel the same connection with her. FX's Archer cartoon is great at disconnecting the audience from the characters as well, it's hard to feel sorry for any of them so you're free to enjoy the slapstick of misadventures blowing up in their face.

Appeal can also be solved. Characters like Ganandorf, Skeletor and Darth Vader have loads of appeal, even though they are bad guys. Usually when we say "creepy" it means someone completely unlikeable, but there are characters like Jack Skellington or Edward Scissorhands that are supposed to be "creepy" but they are still appealing anti-heroes. Or the comic shop guy from the Simpsons, he's not really a likeable guy, but he still has appeal as a character, he's fun to watch.

Just from what I'm reading (I haven't finished everything) I think you're taking on too much at one time.

Your game currently has elements of a lot of different games which could make you lose focus. My concern is that it can lose focus over what you want if you don't plot out what you want and how you want it. I'll add more but I need to take notes on what my concerns are.

Okay, this is based off the first post and I'm sorry to everyone else, but this is how I view it...

1) How do you plan to implement a fast food mechanic and progress a story with so few characters?

A lecherous landlord that constantly harasses the worker he exploits is bound to get old really quickly. Even from the perspective of a naive female, what types of foils do you have from him getting a happy ending? Even with all the debauchery, a more diverse (instead of perverse) cast of characters would do wonders such as some type of wandering swordsman who defends her honor while being unable to hold her hand.

2) How is the city mechanic going to work?

I'm all for say... Five different stats that you decide to put up for whatever reason, but how do you plan to balance a work life with a(n assumed) college life that is bound to happen?

3) Do you plan to keep this a small game or expand it to a two year project?

This seems like a monumental task and I for one would welcome such a game, but I'm seeing that the larger "Pay as you go Patreon" deals really don't think about the scope enough and their game meanders in lala land for a litany of reasons that just aren't ironed out. I won't name names, but let's just say I have to facepalm at the decisions of certain devs at how they go about doing this.

4) What are the overall goals of the game in question?

I just don't see this yet... What is your endgame that you want accomplished? This girl isn't as naive? She hooks up with the landlord? Under what pretenses? That she wins her freedom by bringing in more dough? That he keeps her as a wage slave? Does she take over the town due to corruption? Do aliens attack? While the sky's the limit, if this is really what you want to do, I'd say that you want to start small but have plans to expand as need be.

Make a good restaurant sim FIRST. Then have some sim elements that help that out. Then build the relationships that were developed in the restaurant from that as time moves on. I don't want this to be an abandoned project simply because people lost perspective of scope. Seriously, that's what's plaguing a lot of first time devs when they start doing this then let the Patreon dollars have them lose sight of the larger goal.

Ungawa brings up some great points.

The plot you've got sounds more like something from a Simpsons-esque TV show where shenanigans happen and then everything sets back to normal at the end of each episode. It seems less appropriate for a goal-and-growth video game. You list each character's motivations, but that only explains how the game starts, it doesn't explain what the player is supposed to be doing. What is the player's motivation? How does the player know when they've finished?

Sometimes there are natural goals associated with the gameplay. For example, in SimBro, your stated goal is to pay back your bank debt, but there are natural goals to overcome, like "my goal is to break even" or "to have one of each (something)" or "lower Alice's dignity" and there are mini-goals like upgrading to a spa and unlocking all the alternate universe characters. So you don't necessarily need something like "the protag's goal is to make $3000", but you should think about what kind of goals can present themselves.

If you prefer the Simpsons-esque idea, you could make a game that's more story oriented, like a point 'n click adventure or mild RPG. There's a guy called selfdefiant who makes a lot of simple but challenging point 'n click adventure Flash games that I enjoy. He also did a lot of adventure series, like Spooky Island Survival which becomes Pirate Ship Survival which becomes Spooky Castle Survival. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/647276 So if you did want to make a plotline that's more like a TV series, that strikes me as a good way to handle it.

Although I think I won't be able to revisit the subject for a long time... I've taken over coding LoK:R and now I have around five minutes of free time, daily... more or less. :roll:
