Been playing a lot of Mario and Luigi RPG games and was thinking of trying to use game maker to make a clone of that game. I'd like it to be as similar as possible so the main key points to make it the same:
1. Make a similar interactive combat system with 2 different characters bound to two different keys
2. Have a somewhat linear story with bosses and an ending
3. Have an assortment of team attacks and different co-op puzzles
4. Try to have a somewhat original story that doesn't just have cameos running around everywhere.
Things I want to add to this project
1. Add combat system with hentai features. This could include foreplay and such.
(I want it to be non-penalizing for the most part... maybe add a horny meter which differs from health? When the horny meter reaches max, add a debuff or maybe increase debuffs as the horny meter increases? I'll have to think about this more)
2. Have two similar knock off characters called (Plum and Rose) which is an obvious Peach and Daisy knockoff. As much as I would like to do peach and daisy, I always like adding to a franchise rather than just taking everything... maybe have skin swaps though... also it doesn't interfere with people's perceptions of characters
3. Maybe hentai scenes outside of combat also.

Overall I want to keep the game to reflect super star saga or the Mario and Luigi games as best as possible. I'm not the best artist but my main focus would be to try to replicate the game first. If you have any suggestions or ideas please let me know. I'm pretty lazy and get distracted easily so I'm really hoping that pushing myself into a community will give me some resolve to work on something.
Edit: As I was bored, I decided to brainstorm a bit.
Plum:
I thought Plum should be kinda ditzy or naive in a way. She carries the classical parasol... which is equivalent to mario's hammer and has the same capabilities such as jump, use item, team attack and run away.
I figure her action command could be attacking with a closed umbrella and then pressing (combo key) to open it up to do more damage.... much like the mario RPG weapon I believe.
In terms of puzzles in the game, I think Plum can use her parasol to descend slowly if she uses rose as a way of jumping higher maybe.... something like that... maybe to help jump over walls or reach something in a weird position.
I want plum's hair to be a dark blue or maybe her dress be dark blue. Maybe pale skin as well.
She might be the more "Luigi" character as she seems more goofy than her counterpart.
Ideas for team attacks
Gets a boost from Rose and then floats over to enemy and proceeds with a downward screw attack with umbrella?
Rose
Rose will probably be more domineering as she carries a whip. I believe her hair should be red and her dress, a dark green. I see her more as the person who will take charge of a situation with sadist tendencies.
Her whip combo will probably be some sort of sweet spot timing thing probably.
In terms of puzzles, probably use her for vine swinging or maybe spin Plum like a top to clear cliffs.
