Even though you don't have much, I can see this shows promise. I hope all goes with this project. I will be standing here, silent, hoping for the best.

Not a problem, my good sir! Just wanting to help you out with the idea and allow something new on the forums that I can enjoy as well!

... Also, weird idea, but somehow I'm just wondering about something incredibly silly: you know those music levels? How about like, for fun, like a rhythm-based minigame that is essentially timing out everything to the beat of the song, only with fucking. It's not much, but I just figure like having this like set to the music from Castle Rock or Gloo Gloo (the latter especially) would provide something fun and potentially challenging to do.

Of course you don't have to do it, it's probably going to be a pain to do since that's all based on timing.

I imagine that he can get it, he just can't replied due to his status, but that shouldn't be a problem with him receiving PMs from others.

Indeed, you have to be well tuned with your hearing to get not only get the rhythm and the beat precisely correct, but if you're adding in an extra element like keeping to certain instruments or the lyrics, then it's going to lead into a mess. After all, one of my favorite games is a rhythm game and there's a fan game that takes this concept, has an editor that can allow people to make their own tracks to songs, but making those are very hard to those who don't know how to make a successful track or even aren't capable to recognize the tempo and rhythm in the song to get the beats perfectly timed.

Here is different. So far there's no visual cues, it's all audio. So if we go with Gloo Gloo (Woo Hoo is the song), that is going to be a nightmare to perform due to how that song is. Even then, covers can have their own setup to them, as sometimes they are done since the original doesn't have the right tempo to get the best possible result.

Now, would it be interesting to see in this game? It would certainly! Is it possible? Yes, but it's not going to be easy? Would it be better like a little bonus thing as an unlock, like a music video bonus? It could be a neat little thing to get. Of course, the main goal is getting the main gameplay done first before doing these little side projects, especially when what I'm suggesting adds in a whole new level to things and adds way too much complexity to already a simple gameplay. I wouldn't mind a unique take on the musical levels also, that does leave to wonder what can you do with music and how to design a level around that. But that'll come over time.

Yep I did. Also it will be painful...but probably the most awesome thing ever. I can imagine a "put some sugar on me" song with Edith Up in the game.

I know, right? Even without the actual gameplay, animating everything to a song is going to be a pain, especially when you have to time it to the right beat. Still know, to have something like that will probably be one of the greatest things ever! Seeing that a lot of people are throwing around names on YouTube for possible songs, the only thing is who can do the music?

Again that'll come towards a later date. Anyway, you should be all good and dandy! Welcome to the forums and hopefully we can create a brand spanking new game from this!

It has been a while so here are the updates. Terrantor has volunteered to help me with programing the game. Not too much has happened besides this and working on a few concept ideas, animations and intractable characters, Finals have really slowed down everything. However summer is coming up and I should have more time to work on this project. (Although if I ever finish this and want to work on another game. I'm choosing something smaller!)

Definitive characters in the game
GOOD
Betilla (playable)
Annetta Fish
Aurora
Barbara
Big Mama
Edith Up
Elysia
Emma
Estelia
Hellena Handbasket
Holly Luya
Ly
Olympia
Selena
Twila
Ursula
Wendy Whether
Globox
Rayman
Teensies

BAD
Mr. Dark
Rabbids
Razor Beard
Moskito
Hunters
Trappers
Cyclopes
Black Lums (not necessarily Andre)
(most enemies from the Rayman Legends and origins games)

What there will be
Platforming
Secret areas
exploration (Some levels can't be completed unless you have a certain item. Once you do, it can be completed, but it might be more beneficial to now access areas you couldn't prior in the game)
Magic
Flying
Axes
F***ing

What I would like to put in the Game
Quick thinking platforming (some secret areas might have a limited time to access them due to "Avalanches")
Music based levels

I hope this will at least keep you guys informed until I have more to show.

I was planning on having Betilla change outfits when I thought of the concept. Her outfits are going to be each of her sisters clothes. Each of these outfits also gives Betilla a certain kind of magic attack or spell that will help her get through certain parts of the game. I was also playing around with the idea that Betilla gets a axe from Barbara and all the other sisters, each axe having certain properties like the outfits do. As for the Gallery, I am willing to add that in.

Well I'm definitely excited about this project now, but I do wonder how does Razorbeard play into this? I do remember Rayman 2 way back when, yet I don't exactly know much...

Actually, scratch that. I think I have a clear idea what to do. After all, robot pirates that traps people in cages. I think there's something to be had with this.

I was wondering how this little project was going. It has the potential to be quite fun.
At this point, there's no big issue scaling it back a bit. You do have a LOT of characters (and story arcs associated). You should definitely make a list of 'initial must-haves', make those; then work to expand and include more .

This is just me talking though. I'm not a huge fan of porn games, but any game that can capture the whimsy of Rayman origins/legends: then it's a-okay in my books!

Like level designs, enemies for each level, how many levels, how many worlds, a theme to go with everything, how each level plays out, the obstacles...

... That's just a thought, of course.

... Actually, now that I think about it, is there a list of all the species that are going to be added in the game? We have the Rabbids, the Teensies, the Hunters, and... well, I actually would like a list just in case I find the desire to come up with designs for these guys. After all, seeing Razorbeard on the list makes me desire to see some of the Robo-Pirates and possibly a Henchman 1000 since I loved playing as him in Rayman Arena (M for those Europe). Considering from what I'm gathering, all of the factories are destroyed and there aren't that many robots left, along with that the Henchman 1000 is an older model, so I guess there's going to be a storyline with Razorbeard trying to rebuild his army and gather up the survivors, including finding a rinky-dink Henchman and suiting it up to make it a bit stronger.

Yeah, I'm excited for this.

So far what I am thinking is having the game be separated into stages and then levels. There are 15 girls in total I need to put in the game (minus Betilla), so I think I will have 5 Stages with at least 3 girls a stage. So most likely I will have somewhere between 3-5 levels in each stage, which rounds to 15-25 levels in the entire game minus Final Boss. (It's a lot but comparing my project to Peach's Untold Story, it's pretty short) It's definitely a large project, might even be too large for what my experience is. However even if this is the first and last game I ever make on this forum, it will be completed. As of now I have made deals with Terantor to get one new thing of animation or other game mechanics completed a week, while Terantor does all the coding and programing.

it's understandable if you quit or take a break from it midway through since this project in large since you have to program the A.I mechanics, music, sound effects, etc

At least that'll be a starting point. 15 girls is quite a lot, but then again there are quite a lot between Origins and Legends with the Sisterhoods going on, so having 3 per stage sounds good. If I were to suggest, if music levels do get in (and I guess those will be late game due to the complex nature of them), I would think that either 1-3 is a normal level, 1 is a boss level and the last is a music level, mirroring that from Legends (haven't seen anything on Origins, I should look into that).

It's a suggestion, you can completely disregard it.

Also I made an edit that talks about my desire to become a creature designer again, possibly take up designing the Robo-Pirates if they get in (and if my thought of Razorbeard going around to collect the remainder of his crew for its own little arc) and the Rabbids (since they got something that match the artstyle for the game and I could replicate it if you give me time), but mostly do some of the more easier and simple creatures. I can throw in the various Lums as a bonus!

He looks so content with things...

Yeah this is more of a test of what I can do, not a completed creature. I need to figure out how to make it like this, with the whole body connected and the shading, but I just want to test things.
