Ok so I have a quick idea for a game. I can't do it but I hope someone takes it up and does it. I don't even know who you'll play as or what but here's the basic idea

Aliens come down and sends out things that attack women and go into there uterus and make them pregnant. ( was thinking of something like a bunch of big sperm)

Simple but thats my idea. anybody is free to take it and please post any versions or links to your versions here

And another thread where people will come in and say, "you should not request things, herp, derp". It is not a request so you people don't have to say anything about that.

If this is a common problem, just make a sticky.

The problem is that people have plenty ideas already, so new ideas are incredibly often not used in preference of their own.

It's certainly a "common problem" (people proposing projects), but it's kind of what Creative Corner > Discussion was made for. Maybe Creative Corner > Ideas?

I don't want people to feel like having ideas is a punishable offense in this forum. The problem is not that people have ideas, it's that there are so many people with ideas that hardly any can get done.

Everyone who complains about people suggesting things should calm down and take the idea for what it's worth.

People can't post request threads in the creative CORNER forum.

People can post request threads if they like in the creative DISCUSSION forum, but they should not bump them if they are not seeing activity.

Isn't that the case?

At least as far as I am concerned. I don't really care what people post here as "Discussion" is more or less a catch-all. I will however be very mean to people who post this stuff in the Dev area. Produce or GTFO.

Firstly, idea to implementer ratio. In this forum, there are a few people with the talents to create games. Even fewer of them are able to actually finish one (coming from someone who has started a billion, finished none). There are however hundreds of people with ideas. Check the past discussion threads, there are tonnes of ideas, requests and suggestions. Everybody has an idea for a game, but there's not nearly enough people to implement them.

Secondly, idea redundancy. As I said, there are people on this forum who can and do make games - but they already have ideas what to make. As a game developer, I have loads of ideas of things to work on, so why would I need your ideas?

Thirdly, the nature of the idea. Your idea can basically be summarised by the words "alien impregnation", and the main problem (from my perspective anyway) is that you are offering a story or context idea with no attached game mechanic. There is no game in your idea, you are relying on someone else to create a game mechanic, or to already have created one, that fits with your idea. And that's not to mention that alien impregnation is hardly a novel idea (although to be fair few things in the porn community are) and is a particular fetish so you are appealing to a particular niche of players.

I don't want to be harsh about, so don't be discouraged from suggesting ideas. Just try and think them out a bit more - it will make those with the ability to make the game more likely to take to seriously.

Second, I'm giving an idea that I would like to be made. I'm not saying people have to do it. if someone wants to do they can, if they don't fine don't. this is just a suggestion

Third, I may not have a game planned out but I can who knows maybe someone else likes it and decides to try an idea with it
