The start menu's cool, but I reckon it might look better if you took away the bright blue box around the options and just had the text on the background, it seems to clash a little with the whole theme

Ok, I'm done with that and just finished the splash screens (enter skippable) one advertising Legend of Krystal forums with the logo (hope the admins don't mind me using the logo) and one for Rated 18+

There's a lot of pieces to the title screen.

The red logo is obviously two K's, one inverted next to one normal. The background seems like sort of a puzzle, and has a lighter area, and a darker area. Kismet is a word associated with Fate, and Karma well, when you play with fate, Karma is a bitch xD

Yes but it's not released yet and some of it is "glitchy" (meaning some things are missing, I know that they're missing because I haven't did them yet xD)

IE: Click in a guy battle starts and game crashes because it can't find the enemy.

Don't worry, once I get a good... 1/2 hours of gameplay, I'll release v0.1

...I have been waiting for this moment my entire life.

However, I need genders to go with the names. As such, I will be providing a list for both. First male, then female, and the player gets to pick the main character's last name because I couldn't think of a good one for a fighter.

Fighter: Pash/Arariah

Assassin: Ilkhan/Jarah Strangewayes

Thief: Nestor/Leela Kor'tan

Dragoon: Zenithan/Bryn Patch

Sniper: Josiah/Abagail Markheim

Why not? Garrett reminds me of a Golden Sun character.

Kain reminds me of Kain from Legacy of Kain.

Altair reminds me of Master of Orion 2. (Not taking this one tho, found a better one)

So until someone finds better ones, Kain and Garrett it is.

Seriously, the only ones acceptable for main characters are Leela and Abigail.

I'll take Abigail if I decide to switch someone's gender to female.


So how do you think of the names so far?

Enzo - The Assassin, comes from a Asian type of town in the western lands (do not know how to call the city yet)
Ulrich - The Paladin, tall, bulky, blonde, nordic type of knight. He is the prince of the Alansya kingdom (the light aligned).
Glenn - The Fighter, no background yet
Reya - The Cleric, she is the female crush of our hero, they know eachother since kids, they meet again further ahead in the story, or as a starter, I don't know yet.
Seth - The Black Mage, he is a wander, suspected to be from some mystical land
Locke - The Thief, he grew up on the streets of a poor village, he is "Insert hero name here" best friend
Felicia - The Dragoon, she lives in a land surrounded by nothingness and monsters are common, she learned to fight with the monsters.
Abigail - The Archer, She is a elvish female, comes from the land of elves (no name yet), name suggested by Spectral and what do you know, it has elvish background.
Garrett - The Sniper, comes from a land of technology, his guns pack quite the punch.

The hero's default name is Caleb, but I think I'll make it changeable.

So... What do you think?

References aren't bad, and to be honest, your names are... Hmmm, to say the least a little... Though to digest by everyone, I want some safe picks.

But, yeah the Sniper Wolf was pretty obvious Metal Gear Solid reference, I immediately cut that one out.

I didn't play Final Fantasy IV, it was one of the few final fantasies I didn't play. I knew Kain from Legacy of Kain and since i didn't have any better names, well... Ended up switching for Callum and later on for Felicia (switched genders)

Garrett I like, why not? Golden Sun, strong bulky fire aligned character, what's not to like. Plus it's a common name hence, safe pick.

Wow. I just read you wanted suggestions for names. My mind was already kicking into overdrive as to what i would suggest. Then i read the rest of the name discussion and decided maybe posting my suggestions might not be that good of an idea since they all tend to fall into your category of "tough to digest". At least i believe so.

I actually liked most of Spectral's.

And since you seem to already have found your names, well, no point in trying. So i'll instead comment on yours.


You have two fighters in your name list. Did i miss out on there being two different fighters or is that just a mixup? If so, i root for Locke.

Second, i honestly have to admit that i truly dislike the notion of a female elf named Abigail. Abigail is - i don't know - the secretary of some ceo sitting in Portland. Not an elvish archer. But names like most art are a subjective experience. So no offense, just voicing my opinion.

In additon, though i don't dislike the name in general, something about "Enzo" just rubs me the wrong way. Just can't find out why exactly.


The other names are fine imho.
