Like other people said, artists demand high prices when they've already got a name for themselves and there are people out there who would be grateful for their work for any price.
I'm not commenting on your skill; you could be better than any of those other artists, but if you expect to be treated like an equal to them right off the bat you won't get very far.
And in the begin, underselling yourself can have benefits; like other people said, people would be more willing to purchase your work. And if they're buying your art because it's cheaper than other peoples' art, you'll garner yourself some attention. Then when you get more renown and are considered widely to be very good at what you do, you can raise your prices.

If you know the series this is from or the artist for this pic, please tell me - I must know!

Your work is pretty good but you could improve a little bit. You seem to be a bit more of a realistic hentia artist in the way you draw with a few slight imperfections that do seem to be natural. A lot of people might be expecting models so you may want to work on the style tweaks required to get that "perfect body" down and then have that as a choice (realistic figure or model figure) like with what you did with Zelda. If that was an accident on her stomach plumpness then I guess I just pointed it out. You also seem to have a lack of sample material. What you have is ok but if you could add color versions of your sketches and make a few more of different varieties then people might be able to better judge your work. right now your about a 6.5/10 IMO, (0=pre-schooler, 10= high end pro artist) your right around fairly skilled amateur. I'm about a 3.5 myself so I can't reliably give you a "You messed up here and need work there" review but I can spot decent talent and a few minor mistakes.
What is a goal but an attempt to gain a purpose? We don't really want the goals and advancements for themselves, we want them because it gives us a reason to act.

Agreed, Talin. His more natural style can both be a boon and a bane. While there are some who want all of their hentai girls skinny, there are others who wish for the feeling of realism and connection with themselves. I personally think that the realism can be Dirty Monkey's biggest advantage, as he's able to add in details that make the pictures seem alive, but I would pressure him to try a variety of styles, from his current style to fully cartoonish, and maybe even into photo-realistic style (though that is almost certainly the most difficult... *shudder*)
