Okies, I'm having trouble naming the girls and wanna make biography pages in restricted zone. Backstory would be much appreciated.

I'll throw down my first thoughts for backstory.

Lynette the Priestess (shrine maiden, cleric, etc. etc.):
Born in a village near the capitol city of Teria (country name), Lynette was always interested in the holy arts. As a kid, she would read various works to learn about angels, demons, and divinity. Demons always interested her a little too much, however, and she was nervous that she was "strange". After graduating from school at her local church and due to her enthusiasm regarding her studies, she was nominated to become a court priestess in the Capitol. While she was there, she learned of a parallel realm known as "Villu" where all demons lived. She told a colleague about it, and he took it too far, creating a functional portal to Villu. When the portal opened, Lynette was sucked in, and the adventure began.

Hope you enjoy! You can change any and all names, as well as large parts of the story.

Thx, Zeus. I like what you are leading into with the underworld. Leaves Room yet I'm starting to obtain focus on Lynette's role. Now that I know her name, I can probably start her story . I'll probably ditch the sci-fi and go more for a fantasy backdrop as this is really what it seems more for. I just don't know how to introduce the slime, now. Rather than her getting sucked in, something came out... Muhahaha. Much appreciated for your help, ur writing skills are great!!

Ah, cool stuff. I see your new sprite up and it looks good.

I was going more for the medieval "science" than true science fiction, but I'm also not too good at writing fantasy (I think I try too hard to explain it?). Anyway, I'm glad you enjoy it.

I just don't know how to introduce the slime, now.

What if it used to be a powerful demon general, but then he lost all his power [and even sustain his own shape for a long time] due to internal demon intrigue? And now he is searching a way to restore his status.

Ooh, that's a good idea Milten. He was a big stereotypical demon, but when he lost his power he dissolved into slime?

Well I'm liking all the ideas. Ultimately I'm gonna write the thing but all ur guys' input is getting me thinking on the matter. Backstories are definitely gonna create the foundation for the story. Now i definitely don't want it to be too epic, right now. The game is gonna consist of nine rooms. If u recall, Thaed, this was initially a tech demo as a proof of concept for my ideas. However, should the thing take off, I'll make it a full version. As a quick progress update. I makeded a bar maid, but the colors need some tuning, so she shall not be revealed. And i'm starting to make some flora. I also have an idea for an armored woman in the mix. Now there is nothing i love more than a chick with armor. Let's call it a fetish. And that will conclude my females. 5 is enough. Then I'll make some male sprites. But the only one seeing action will be slime b/c sex scenes is hard enough to do.

@Zeus: Keep them ideas coming. I'd definitely like some help for this project, as I don't intend to do it on mi own.

@Thaed: Jealous, are we??? XD

@Milten: Mr. Slime can be a demon. Just I don't see him as a super general or anything. He's got this kinda lowly peasant look. Hopefully if i can expand on the underworld later, you can help me elaborate on the many creatures down there as well as the head honcho, in need of sons. ;)

@Blue Light: Study hard, mofo. So in the for loop, I can set the middle argument to current health and it will draw a single image that many times? Now all i gots to do is figure out how to space them and I can get the health bar working. I'm in a coding mood anyways!!

I am wary of saying yes.

If you were to say
Code: Select All Code

for(int i = 0; i < maxHeath; i = i +1) //would work with this.
for(int i = 1; i <= maxHeath; i =i+1) // would work with this also.

All a loop does is a action more than once (Or it should be more than once. I mean it doesn't have to be but its kinda useless then.)

I just got it working. It really helps with reducing if statement counts. Instead of setting it to max health, i put it on current health and it draws based on how much i set the variable global.hp to. So all i have to do is create something that influences global.hp, like an attack in battle mode or something.

So it looks like this:

Code: Select All Code
for(i=0;i<=global.hp;i+=1){
draw_sprite(hp_unit,0,x+32,obj_null.y+i*32)
}

so it looks like "hp_unit" is your sprite.
your starting at coordinate 0 and x+32
your getting another variable, it seems to be y in obj_null. Is this correct? then your adding (i time 32)

What would happen if you removed the for loop? without knowing whats happening (Which means i would have to learn the language.) I couldn't really tell you the use of the loop in this instance. The only thing i see being used is the i but i don't have enough information about draw_sprite to guess what that does.

Removing the for would pretty much draw the unit at said coordinates assuming I established the i variable elsewhere. Draw_sprite is a pre-made function, so it pretty much does this: draw sprite (sprite name, subimage #, x coord, and y coord). I put the code in what's called a draw event so it's constantly refreshing itself. This means as global.hp changes, so will i and it will be seen by the draw sprite function.

One problem I'm having is when i made an event to decrease the global.hp, it went beyond 0 and into negative numbers. Is there a way i can restrict it to just positive numbers?

Yes. It really depends on what your trying to do. If your just trying to keep the number above some point in java you would say.
Code: Select All Code
Math.max(0,HP);

and whats happening is your getting the max value of 0 or HP. HP will always be used unless it's negative.

also i want to check something with you. so with your for loop the possible values of 'i' are {0,1,2,3,4,5} if global.HP is equal to 5.

I believe so. Because when i tinker with global.hp, it is seen in the test run. So if i click a button that decreases global.hp, the number of hp units decreases.

The second sprite is Lynnette combined with the slime, right? Wouldn't she still be called Lynnette?

Or maybe it's a copy of Lynnette that the slime made itself into. In that case, it wouldn't have the same name.

Actually Children of Villu is like a race. They come in other colors. Their history is from ancient times when Villu still had active portals to this world. They would often breed with the humans in this country and she is the product. They were once brutal but have assimilated and are more tame. Very proficient with dark arts. I know they look the same. I'm gonna try to make different breast sizes and face shapes to kinda change things up a bit. If not with these sprites, definitely for the sex scenes. Details are real hard to do on a sprite that small.

So lets me explain a bit more.
the Math.max(int X, int Y); is a method with a return statement. This means i run the method and it gives me something back (Seems basic but it took me forever to understand this.)

so if i were to do math
Code: Select All Code
int fuckMath 5 + 6 + Math.Max(3+3, 3-3);

then get 5+6 = 11 +3+3 = 11+ 6 = 17.

I like the integer, but I don't see any math functions in the the function reference. But i think what you are saying is to create a variable with a min and max and stick it in the for loop?
