You need a program called adobe flash. I believe you can get by with version 3 but you'll likely be unable to open a lot of the source files.
A lot of people seem to be version 4. Not to many use 5.
I personally use 5.5 and from what I can tell it's no different from 5. I believe the only difference is plug in's.

The source files with be in a .fla format. I believe their is a way to tell which version it is by opening it up in a text editor but i can't be sure.

Okay now Adobe flash player is different than what you're talking about ie Adobe Flash right? Because I have flash player. Also Chrono Trigger Adventures I have a link for in case you need a visual and I can get it approved to type in. You are correct. Adobe Flash is a art program that uses vectors (Shapes basically)
Adobe Flash player is able to take the .SWF file and play them

We are on Adobe flash 5 and i think Adobe flash player 11.
