Hello, Ladies and gentlemen. My name is Samantha. Nice to meet you all. ^-^
I'm new here, but I've got big ideas to bring to the website. Especially my newest flash project I wish to bring here. My group and I have been working on ideas, concept art, test flashes, but. We believe this idea we finally want to bring alive. We've done flash work before. But never something like this. This will take a lot of time to create, but eventually we'll start getting public releases out and eventually the full thing, I'll be keeping this flash of ours constantly posted to this thread as we work.

So Here's the plan.

We want to create a story driven role play/turn based game. I know, the idea has been done before. But we want to do it a bit different than the others.

It'll be put in a futuristic type era, with a female or male main character(Or well, you. ) Your own personalized character.
Your character would work for what would be considered a police force. You'd have your party of characters(Up to four. ) and you'd be dealing with crimes around the planets. With different planets, comes different races involved with the crimes. (Like earth would of course be humans, or Jupiter would have some alien species. )
There will be gear you can purchase for characters, along with gear you can get from certain enemies throughout the game. Along with an XP meter(and Levels!) to further enhance your character.

I want to take a piece of Fenoxo's work, and add a Lust(Seduction) Meter along with a health meter in combats. You could lose battles by either losing all of your health, or your lust meter fills up meter fills up and you're too "Distracted" to continue fighting. Then a scene happens then well...Yeah.

So, for story.
-Male or Female Customisable character.
-Member of a Galactic Police force.
-Go from Planet to Planet stopping crimes.
-Have a group party of up to four to assist you.
-Difficulty of crimes slowly goes up as you complete more of them.

For gameplay(Out of Combat).
-You can purchase gear such as armour, weapons, and items to use in combat with an currency. You would achieve a currency by completing crimes.
-You can open your "Menu" to upgrade your characters, swap party members, or change around items.
-You can explore places around the worlds, Interact with civilians.

For combat
-Turn based attacks, turns will be decided by characters speed stat levels.
-Characters will have basic attacks they can do with their equipped weapons.
-Characters can perform "Special Attacks" with their abilities, each character has different abilities special to them. There will be a stamina bar for how many special attacks you can perform, each special attack takes up a different amount of stamina.
-Characters can also perform "Lust attacks" to try to seduce the enemies into submission by raising their Lust bar.
-There will be a health and lust bar, if the health reaches zero or the lust hits maximum, the character is defeated, if the entire party is defeated. The battle is lost.

So, I had a problem, like major problem. We've been working on concepts for a LONG TIME, and we've slowly started getting into the works of actually programming the damn thing. (And by we, I mean the people I assigned, I'm currently doing concepts. I'll be unable to assist in programming currently. )

Basically, our progress has been slowed to an almost halt. I actually need help now, as in. My assistance for the artwork has left. I've lost the story writer. (I can take that over as well, it's fine. :) ) and that's about it. If people would like to help, I am now asking for assistance for my project. Which I am now calling this W.I.P "Space Squad." That's not trademarked...hopefully.

Besides the request for help, Concepts. Along with other demo pieces won't be out for the long run, apologies on that. I want to show it off. But our work scanner for my art has broken, and I don't want to show off just pictures of them I've taken from a shit camera.


I'll now be posting updates monthly on our progress, up to June, by then hopefully every two-three weeks. Stay tuned!

I've moved this here for the time being until there is an actual working Flash demo. I'll then move this back over to the Flash section.

This sounds like it could be pretty good, and i will look forward to future updates. Are you planning an over arching plot with some kind of multi-planetary crime syndicate or are the missions going to be stand-alone non-linear only?

As bad as this sounds. I'm thinking either a linear kind of story with like side quests and such on this side. Or just something along the likes of Simbros or Strumpets. Just a bunch of ideas.

We're still kind of planning now, don't think a flash will be out for a little while. (By a little while, I mean maybe a couple months. For us to work. )

Does that mean you're working with Fenoxo on this? Or that you will be using his games as inspiration? I really liked Trials in Tainted Space, so if it's anything like that I'd play it.

You said futuristic. DO you mean like a Shadowrun type game, where it is set on Earth (or another planet) but in the future with future tech? Or are you saying a more space-agey space opera type thing like Start Wars / Star Trek?

I like the idea of allowing lust attacks in addition to regular ones. Do you plan on having some sort of "corruption" metric in the game?

It sounds like the game isn't over if you lose. I like that. There are some games where the scenes are so descriptive where you lose that I maaaay have lost on purpose. :oops:

To answer your questions, No. I am not working with Fenoxo on this. (As much as I would love to, The writing skill there is quite spectacular. ) I wanted to copy the whole "You fuck them your way when you win, or they fuck you their way if they win. " Kind of thing. No corruption meter. Well...maybe. Dunno yet. I still have a lot of work to do.

I don't exactly know what Shadowrun is, (I'm sorry! ) But I suppose so.

You'll have to wait until the demo comes out, I suppose. So I can start showing pieces of work.

The amount of work we've actually done over March is ZERO. Lots of things going on that have halted us(Or well, mostly me. ;---:) to a stop. I'll start posting flash art/concept art A.S.A.P for the community.

My apologies to everyone for my lack of activity on the project. I'll do my best to stay update, but no promises this project will be coming out anytime soon. Balancing work along with teaching along with this is not easy. .--.
