Rise and shine! It's Morning everyone! The clouds blot out the worst of the sun, making it a brisk, slightly cool morning.

Brightstar City

Hannah
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

You'd think that a news organization who's pulling you out of your hometown for a scoop would foot the bill for a more glamorous method of travel. A plane into Moorport, a private vessel to cross the waters, anything! Nope. You get the cheap ass Intercontinental Ferry that every other newbie Trainer ends up on. At the very least you managed to catch the Ferry while it was on a downswing. Yes, it's still very much crowded for the few days it takes to get from Unova to Uslane, but not so much so that you're forced to share a room. And with 4 extra beds in the room, that possibility is not as far out as one would think. Probably feel too much like home with that many people sharing a room. Still, at the very least something good is coming out of it. A lead, as it were. Apparently, there was recently a terrorist attack in Brightstar and the person of interest is this woman. Details are thin on the ground for who the hell she is right now, but you've done more with less. It shouldn't be too hard to find someone who's holding out on a bit of information. Or worse come to worse, it's not like you haven't pulled leads out of nowhere before. Team Native and Team Lost Love gotta be doing something somewhere after all. It's just a matter of finding them.

As your Ferry pulls into Brightstar, you have quiet a few things to do. First is you'll need a Pokémon as wandering the Region with no protection just seems suicidal. A PokéDex would also be nice given that they usually have PokéNavs so you can plot out your journey. An eye witness to what went down here a few days ago would be great too, a jump start on the story as it were. Luckily, you can solve pretty much all those issues at once with a visit to the Region's Professor. Professor Hazel if your memory serves. The building with the Professor's lab sticks out like a sore thumb, so making your way to it isn't difficult. The only real issue is you arrived on a boat with a bunch of Trainers wanting to get their start as well! The Professor's Lab is swarmed in short order. "Alright, ya little shits, calm your asses down and line up!" You hear a harsh voice shout. Looking for the source leads your eyes to what could only be one of the Professor's assistants. Her glare itself makes quite a few of the Trainers around you cower and that's before getting to her aggressive, hands on hip posture or the harsh frown on her face. "Three lines, assholes! One in front of me, one in front of the chick flirting with half of you with her eyes, and one in front of the Professor! Make it quick!" Shockingly enough, the line in front of the first assistant is so short that you can actually count them. Also not shocking, the woman described as a flirt has a line almost halfway back to the Ferry, mostly filled with men. You can almost see them trying to look through her white blouse or up her half-thigh length skirt. And the wink she gives does nothing to dissuade them. The most moderate line belongs to Professor Hazel herself, holding a professional smile on her face that really screams she'd much rather be somewhere else.

You bet you could get the ditsy one to talk, but getting to her would take an absurdly long amount of time compared to the other two. The Professor might talk to you, but given the mood she gives you she might keep it as brief as possible so she can get back to what she actually wants to be doing. Her first assistant seems like a hard ass, even now shouting at someone for not speaking up and making themselves heard, but maybe she could offer up information regardless? It's entirely possible to just wait until the crowd disappears too, finding others in town to speak to. You spot what looks to be a few natives milling around, already up and getting on with their day, so it shouldn't be too hard to waylay a few and get what information you can while the Professor's lines clear. Or, well, it's ill advised, until you have a Pokémon and a PokéDex, but this town isn't the only place you can gather information. There's likely to be a lead out there as much as there is in here.

Casey
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The Ferry trip into this new Region is possibly a blessing and disguise and a curse at the same time. Why's that? Because, on this Ferry, there are so many Trainers just ripe for picking for his habit. But in the close range of a Ferry, anything suspicious would be picked up fairly easily and the culprit singled out. It's hard to blend in with a thin crowd after all. When there isn't that many people around, it's easy to pick out the few things that separate one person from the other. Probably for the best not to chance ruining his fun before it's even properly began. Still, there's enough to keep him distracted from his hobby until the Ferry finally makes landfall in Brightstar. Compared to Goldenrod, it's a quaint little place. Small town vibe, the really only important things in it is the Professor's Lab and the small PokéCenter that's probably run by volunteers. Might be good for a time so long as he can keep from arousing suspicion.

"Alright, ya little shits, calm your asses down and line up!" You hear a harsh voice shout, intruding on your thoughts. Following it to its source finds your eyes back at what can only be the Professor's Lab and what must be either the Professor herself or one of their assistants. Make it quick!" Shockingly enough, the line in front who you now know to be an assistant is so short that you can actually count the number of Trainers in it. Also not shocking, the woman described as a flirt has a line almost halfway back to the Ferry, mostly filled with men. You can almost see them trying to look through her white blouse or up her half-thigh length skirt. And the wink she gives does nothing to dissuade them. The most moderate line belongs to newly revealed Professor Hazel herself, holding a professional smile on her face that really screams she'd much rather be somewhere else. Out of the corner of your eye, you notice a woman who isn't quite as quick to separate into lines like everyone else coming off the Ferry is. It seems she's willing to observe for now, or maybe is just slow in reacting.

Either way, you can wait in one of the lines for a Pokémon and PokéDex. The quickest one would be to go through the line with the woman owning the foul mouth while the longest would belong to the woman who even now looks like she's trying to collect a few numbers for a fun time later. The only reason she isn't is what looks to be a death glare from both the first assistant and the Professor herself for the second assistant's unprofessional behavior. Still, it doesn't make much of a dent in her carefree spirit as she sometimes offers her hand to someone in an odd way. You can't make it out from where you are, but you think you can see something written there. She seems careful to hide it whenever either her boss or her coworker look her way though. The Professor herself looks to be more and more annoyed the longer she's out there, but she's handling it with professional and a somewhat frosty smile. There are pros and cons to each. And then there's also just finding something else to do until the line clears. It'd probably be ill advised to learn the city until you have a Pokémon to defend yourself with, but no one's stopping you from making basic explorations anyway.

Exia
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Morning arrives, as it's wont to do, on what is promised to be the beginning of your Pokémon Journey. Not being an idiot, you dragged Mina down to the Lab grabbed your Pokémon from Professor Hazel last night and had her pick up her PokéDex at the same time rather than try to fight the rush of new Trainers that come with the Ferry's first light. You merely try not to let the Professor's brusque nature rub you the wrong way, knowing she's not annoyed with you specifically and that it's just the way she is. It's the way she's been since your family moved to Brightstar and you're fairly sure it's the way she'll be until she's either left alone or she's lowered into her grave. She's gotten a little better since she got her assistants, Lilianna and Jackie somewhat recently, but now she just seems annoyed Jackie puts on her angry bitch routine to get the least amount of work when Trainers show up. As you get up and check in to make sure your sister is ready to go as well, you can actually hear Jackie getting into her role, putting order to the chaotic mess of Trainers outside and cowing them so they can be sorted out and gotten out of the Professor's hair as quickly as possible. And while that's nice and it, it is still rather early in the day for that level of volume.

At the very least, you have made sure your preparations are complete in all this. You have your Pokémon, a Spinarak, you have your PokéDex and a PokéNav so you can find your way around. You suppose you either need to make the plans for what will happen or simply leave it up to your sister. This is her journey after all, you're just along to make sure she doesn't try... hurting herself again and help her to happiness as best you can. Hopefully this will be exactly what she needs to finally find what makes her so.

Only one thing sort of bothers you since it could potentially affect the safety of Mina: the attempted bombing of the Professor's Lab a few nights ago. As far as you've gathered, Team Native saw the Professor's Lab as a gateway for outsiders and attempted to destroy it. The Professor and her assistants fought them off, but they still managed to do a bit of damage to the surrounding area and capture some new attention. Given how fervently Team Native despises outsiders, they may come for you and Mina if they figure out you're not native to this Region. Might be something to keep an ear out for, maybe see if you can get some information to help see them coming. It wouldn't do for Mina to get hurt after all.

Lumina
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The promised morning is finally upon you. You're not sure if you can pull off excited, but at the very least you're as ready for it as you're gonna get. Ex dragged you to Professor Hazel's Lab last night to pick up your PokéDex so you wouldn't have to really deal with people. Still had to deal with Professor Hazel, but at the very least when she acts like you're annoying her just by being there, you know she would act like that no matter who showed up in her Lab and don't have to have to pretend like with most people. In her own bed nearby is Torekka in her human form, just getting out of bed just like yourself. You can hear Ex already up and about, probably doing last minute things and you can definitely hear the loud assistant the Professor has yelling at the Trainers who just arrived. Which, given how many people have started showing up in Uslane recently, isn't anything new.

Still, this is only build up for what's really important. The best advice you ever got still rings in your head, imparted by what must surely be a master of his craft. The primary reason for getting up this morning and getting ready to travel this Region: Finding Rattata. Joey made sure to point out that with a Rattata, all your problems will go away and you'll become invincible in battle. There's no doubt in your mind that everything has lead up to this, to this destined event! Now there's the simple matter of finding one. Your PokéDex doesn't show you were a Pokémon lives until after you've caught it, so you can't use that to find what you're looking for. You might have to get Ex to talk to some people, see if she can find out where Rattata live. Then and only then will life be complete.

Torekka
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

You suppose today means a bit more than most. Basically the agreement you had to make with Exia goes into effect today: they're going on a Pokémon journey, so you have to fulfill your part of the bargain and keep Lumina safe. Still, it can't be all bad. New places to see, new things to learn, new people to prank, new food to eat. All without the risk of ruining your new lifestyle. And maybe, just maybe, getting this done will finally make Lumina shut up about Rattata. What's so good about Rattata anyway? She has a damn Zorua, which is like a million times better than a Rattata! Still, a deal's a deal and you don't think you wanna know what Exia would do if you tried to get out of it. There's pretty much exactly two things she cares deeply about and that's her sister and her sister's happiness. You know how to push a human's buttons, but there are some you've learned are just better to stay away from.

As you raise from your bed, you see Lumina doing the same and can hear Exia already up and about. You can also hear one of the humans who help out the Professor shouting at the new Trainers who show up in the region. It's irritating to your enhanced senses, but it's a damn sight better than the noise a few nights ago. Another one of those humans apparently tried to blow up the Professor's Lab, calling it a gateway for outsiders to come into their Region. The affairs of humans are very much not your problem so you're not 100% sure what that was about, but everyone else in town was a little shaky after that. Some of the best pranks of your life came during that time period since people were really easy to get really mad at others. You swear you've started more fist fights this week than you had the month previous! But besides the point. You suppose you should see what Lumina plans to do, see how Exia plans to do it, and make your plans accordingly.

Pewterton City

Lucy
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

You're not 100% sure, but you think you escape Kanto without drawing any additional heat. At the very least, you think that if someone was on your trail, you would have seen something by now. Though given the town you ended up in, it could just be that they have bigger problems than looking for a Pokémon molester at large. At first glance, Pewterton City is much like any other city, Trainers coming and going, and everyone else doing what was necessary to keep things going. Another look would give the impression that something was... off. Maybe a Trainer would come by the PokéCenter you've taken up temporary residence in quite a bit cut up or otherwise hurt. Injuries you can't, in your experience, pin as caused by Pokémon. Most tellingly, the nurse on duty most times out of not doesn't treat this as a cause for concern. She simply sees it, sighs, and then treats the poor sap and their Pokémon as best she can. The patient usually exits shaky and jumping at shadows, but at the very least they're physically well. From what you see, no one else who is native to this city seems alarmed either. Still, none of this has directly affected you yet, which is fine given the spook you just escaped from.

The past month has been used cooling your heels, keeping an eye and ear out for pursuit, and getting yourself set up. Given your gentle disposition, the PokéCenter is happy to give you side jobs to keep yourself fed and they don't have a problem with you using a spare room as your own either. Still, you're not altogether sure when your past in Kanto will catch up with you, if it will at all. The way you figure, you have options. You can assimilate into this town. They have a PokéCenter who looks fondly on you and a Trainer School not far along that you could probably put your knowledge to use in. Then again, you hear there's a Daycare out in Vertrose that you could pay a visit. Or maybe just rekindle the flames of being an Elite Pokémon Trainer and have yourself a Journey. This Region is supposed to be famed for having all kinds of Pokémon from all different Regions so that could be a great way to kill time and blend in with the populace. You'd need to look through your pack for your old PokéDex, but nothing's really stopping you. The Region is your playground. The only hiccup you can see for the moment is your Pokémon. You were short on time and not entirely in your right mind in your panic, so you grabbed the first one you saw that you knew they wouldn't look too hard for and ran. That resulted in you being the proud owner of a Bounsweet. While the little thing is adorable, it's also completely unable to defend itself or you right now. She doesn't know any offensive moves, so you'd have to either find a safe way of training her up until she does or find a way of obtaining a Pokémon that can defend all three of you. The easiest thing to do would be to go to Brightstar and pick up a Starter, but that would still mean avoiding all attention until you arrive. Quite the pickle to work though...

Clearwater

Kahua
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Well, you made your resolution to chase after the woman who could only be your mother, but you need more than a resolution to get going. The most important thing is a Lead. You saw that she was tired to a terrorist attack in Brightstar, but only someone who's trying to get caught would stay in the same place that they were outed. She would have moved on by now. The question is where? You'd need more information on Team Native's movement and you're not altogether sure where you'd get that information. Obviously Brightstar would be the best bet, but unless you got there in a timely matter, the trail would get cold. If you were in Summerlin, you could ask their Gym Leader, Paz, what information she has given she's the most militant in shutting down both Team Native and Team Lost Love. Or hell, her Lieutenant, Mimi, would also know that kind of information. Given that you've known Damian basically your whole live, you know asking him would be a waste of time as he doesn't really care for conflict and purposefully stays out of both Team's business. There's Rufus who always seems to be oddly knowledgeable about what's going on in the world, but he's on his boat out in the middle of Route 130 right now and you're not sure he'd appreciate being disturbed. He's a bit like everyone's crazy uncle in that way: cool, good for a laugh, but weird when it comes to his "me" time.

Well, those are what you know you can chase right now. You're sure you can find more leads out in the world somewhere. Right now, your family seems to take up most of your attention. Mostly in their resigned assistance in gathering some things that might be important to take along, knowing that stopping you would take physical force and they're rather loath to do that. Your sister, Alika, practically raised you after all and while she has no problem taking you to task when you fuck up, she's a bit less willing to restrain you just for wanting to know where you came from. Your brother, Alani, might, if he thought either Alika or Kahakilani would back him. But he knows neither of them could stomach keeping you locked down for long and he isn't about to take on that kind of responsibility all on his own. Kahakilani is the most understanding of your decision, which isn't surprising. This is the man who raised you on family before all else after all. You get the feeling if it was his parents or one of his kids out there, he'd already be gone. So it's not a shock when he slips you his old PokéDex, emptied due to years of disuse corrupting the data within and having to be factory reset. Now when he gives you a bit of pocket money to get you a few things, you feel he knows where you're coming from, but doesn't want to baby you. That's something neither he nor Alika ever once did after all.

So the morning comes and you're as ready as you're gonna be to get going. You know the paths out of town and where everything is in the town itself, so finding your way out is as easy as breathing. It's not something you've ever done before, but it's the necessary first step to figuring out what the hell is going on.

Calder
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

It's 5 in the morning when you first step foot in the Uslane Region. In one of the most water adjacent parts of it, Clearwater even. You suppose this is the perfect place to start your sea venture. When you were making your plans, you found that this was the end of the water routes on the Southern side of Uslane. Which means probably the easiest to explore since none of the paths would take you too far from shore. You don't have a Pokémon to carry you across the entirety of the sea yet, so that will have to do until you fix that small issue. Still, if there's a place to get one or figure out how to get your hands on one, it's here. It's the home of the Water Gym Leader for the Uslane Challenger's League after all. The man in question, Damian, seems rather fond of the water as well if what you've heard in the hour or so you've been here is right. Oftentimes, challengers to his Gym will have to wait until he gets back from a wave he found. That seems to be the case right now in any case. The Gym Leader isn't anywhere to be found, no one knows where to find him, and no one finds that strange in the slightest.

You've outlined the basics of your plans for this Region, but now it's time to put them into effect. You could stay around here and see if the sea speaks to you. Then again, there's quite a bit of coastal area left to explore in this Region. You don't have a PokéDex's PokéNav to guide you, but you have the basic idea of where to go. The only real issue is your Magikarp. While you're thankful to his mother for parting with him, the fact stands that the thing can't defend itself right now. It doesn't have any Egg moves apparent and Splash is really only good for lulling people into a false sense of security. So finding a way to teach him something offensive or recruiting a Pokémon to defend the both of you seems like a pretty pressing matter right now.

Fairsage City

Sydnie
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

For a long while, you were forced to ply your trade in Violetbank Town, the uncontested cesspit of Uslane Region. Anyone who wanted you could have you and do anything they wanted so long as they didn't "scuff up the merchandise" and they paid well enough. It wasn't ideal, but you survived. Many people to meet, many men to fuck, much fun to be had. Maybe a few new kinks added to your repertoire, but nothing really worth writing home about. It was much the same as what you were doing in Rustboro, but with less agency and probably a bit more pain.

That changed about a month ago. A man oozing the feeling of "Don't fuck with me" appeared before you, looking you up and down as if he were inspecting a hunk of meat. It was obvious he didn't give a shit about you and you didn't turn him on in the slightest, which begged the question of what he was doing there in the first place. Finally, he takes a drag of his cigarette and sighs. "So this is one of the best girls we got, huh? I swear, it gets easier to get people off every month." He says with a shake of his head. "Anyway, I'm a proponent of letting my 'employees' hear what's what straight from the boss man so clear the cum outta your ears and listen up. I'mma be expanding services outside of Violetbank. Whether they want me to or not. As one of the most desired pieces of ass we got in this place, I'mma be sending you over there to drum up demand. Demand better not slip or we'll be seeing each other again real soon. And you won't like it if that happens." Without a backwards look, the man exits your room.

The next day, you found yourself on a Spearow heading into Fairsage City, surrounded by people who were in charge of making sure you didn't escape. A man of fair features giving the name of Leo introduces himself as your pimp for your stay in Fairsage and directs you to give any questions or concerns to him. Through the smile on his face is warm and welcoming, the look in his eye says rather clearly there had better not be any questions or concerns. That was a month ago. You're not sure what's going on, but you receive a lot less customers in Fairsage than you did in Violetbank. Fortunately, it seems it's not just you. Every girl you talk to seems to have the same complaint/relief. As a matter of fact, you seem to draw the brunt of what clients do appear.

But your handlers are getting desperate. You hear whispers of an "Armando" not being happy with the numbers they're putting up and them needing to resort to niche or drastic measures in order to drum up demand. Through one of your girls, you hear that your name is brought up increasingly often when it comes to discussing drastic measures. More worryingly, you hear talk of drugs to keep you compliant and talks of Team Lost Love's research and their increasing offers for one of their product.. That doesn't sound up your alley at all. You get one of the girls to stir up a little trouble and you slip out the back while everyone's distracted. The only money you have to your name is the rather pitiful tip one of your customers left. Your only company is the recently hatched egg one of those customers who try to buy your love left you, holding a Ralts. You're not 100% sure what to do now, but you know it'd be for the best if you skipped town. And maybe avoided Violetbank while you were at it. Or maybe there's someone in town who can help! You're not sure who or where they would be, but there's gotta be options!

Moorville

Liah
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

True to his word, Professor Sycamore spared no expense sending you out to the Uslane Region, even springing for a plane flight when most people would use the much cheaper Intercontinental Ferry instead. You're not sure if Venipede liked the trip, being so much higher in the air than he normally is. Thankfully, as a Pokémon, he had the option of merely staying in his Ball. An option he gleefully took advantage of. You left the Kalos Region at 4AM, bright and early. 2 hours later and your plane touches down in the only airport in the Region: Moorpoint. The city buzzes with activity even this early, a bustling port town with ships coming and going in addition to the air traffic. A sprawling metropolis of a place, you see a giant electronic projector in the middle of a rather tall building. In a glittery, purple room, surrounded by holographic Pikachu, you see a rather energetic young woman bouncing around. "GOOD MORNING, beautiful Moorville! It's your favorite idol Gym Leader Tricia here to help you welcome the day and GET! YOU GOING!" She seems to have an entire routine that you can pay attention to or not. It seems a good chunk of the population is so you can get around rather unimpeded if you so choose.

You're in this region for the purpose of filling up the PokéDex Sycamore gave you, which is apparently very easy in this Region given that it's a place Pokémon seem to migrate to and settle down. No one's sure why, but that's the way it's shaken out thus far. There's quite a few ways you can go at it. You know who the Gym Leader is and you can see that the building the billboard is on is the Gym so you know where she is too. Seeing what advice she has for a newcomer could be worth your time. Then again, there's something to be said for just getting out there and doing! There's 3 Routes out of town by land, one to the north, east, and south, if you want to just get going. It takes a while for the PokéNav in your PokéDex to sync up with the satellites in this Region, but when it does you have a map of the Region at your fingertips so you can plot out exactly where you wanna go. "And remember everyone to BE~ ELECTRIC and let your energy POWER THE GOOD in life! Tricia, signing off everyone!" You hear the tail end of the announcement as the billboard switches over to display advertisement for some Regional cuisine, Tricia's Idol album, and some clothing line modeled by Gwyneth. Seems like the excitement for the morning is over.

Calder spent as much time on the deck of the ferry as possible, never getting tired of the smell of the ocean air. Sure, sometimes there were more people there than he was strictly used to dealing with, but the air made it worth it for him. Also, there were the occasions he would overhear useful stuff about the city he was going to. Sometimes he regretted his decision to go straight to Clearwater due to not being able to receive a Poke'dex, but as the ferry got close to the city, all that regret immediately melted away.

When Calder disembarked, he decided immediately to do a tour of the city, namely the beach. Looking out over the water, he wanted nothing more than to ditch his clothes and jump straight into the water. However, he restrained himself. Barely. Pulling up the poke'ball that held his sole partner in it, Calder smiles to himself. Sure, more than a few people told him it was a fools errand to set off with just a Magikarp, but he knew he could do it: and if he did, he would be a legend among all water trainers in the world. After all, he never heard of anyone doing something like it before.

Right, priorities. Those things. Putting the ball back on his belt, Calder sets off for one of the first places any trainer needs to visit: the Poke'mart. After all, he needs to add more friends to his party if he really wants to call himself a trainer. After that, he will definitely hit the beach to see what kind of poke'mon and people he will find there. After all, this early in the morning, he could easily find out who the true ocean lovers were over those people who just want to work out or work on their tans.

Maribelle ... or Lucy as she went by now sat in the pokecentre's spare room as she rolled a pokeball back and forth on a table. By the time she had to flee, Lucy had been locked out of her pokemon storage. She only had three pokemon at her old apartment, Lurantis, Lilligant and Bounsweet. Just her luck, the one she had to pick up was the Bounsweet. The fruit pokemon had freshly hatched and had no attack moves at all. Though it wasn't a total loss. Lucy had been reading up on the little pokemon and knew she had potential.

"Hmmmm" Lucy sighed as she stared out the window. Lucy had to do a few unsavory things to get out of Kanto and get everything she needed to start a new life in the Uslane region. Having to look over her shoulder every waking moment had worn the middle age woman out. But Lucy seemed to have finally lost her pursuers. The question now was what to do next. Outside of a few strange occurrences, Pewterton City seemed like a quiet enough place to settle down. She'd just have to avoid what was attacking those poor trainers.

At the moment, the daycare in Vertrose was an absolute no. People would be surprised at just how in contact pokemon daycares are with each other. Not to mention, Lucy wouldn't be able to keep herself from feeling up the pokemon brought in by trainers. It had been a struggle to keep from finding a way to molest the ones brought to the pokemon centre. The red haired woman couldn't help but touch herself as she remembered some of the good times she had at the Cerulean Daycare Centre.

She could find a partner for her Bounsweet to help raise her up. But it was too risky to travel to Brightstar. Plus as time went on, her dreams of being a trainer had gently faded. Her best bet was to see if she could find steady work at the Trainer School. She had a fair amount of experience as a Trainer and a Breeder. With any luck, the school might have spare pokemon she could use to help raise her little Bounsweet. With a plan in mind, Lucy decided to head to the Trainer School to land a position. That was after she was finished fingering herself and had cleaned up. "Oh Hitmonlee!"

Casey stretched as he got off the boat. It had been a rather uneventful trip which had left him bored out of his mind. There had been plenty of cute girls, but it wasn't ever quite crowded enough for him to feel comfortable making a move. Not even a quick slap to the rear looked simple enough to do without calling attention to himself, so he'd spent most of the trip holed up in his room to avoid the temptation all together after the first hour.

He gave a look around Brightstar seeing the small Pokecenter probably not big enough for an actual nurse to be working it, but his destination was the Professor's Lab where he'd be getting his first Pokemon. A small creature that he would make devoted to him while teaching it how to fight on his behalf and bringing in other Pokemon to be his. The stronger his team would get, the stronger Pokemon he'd be able to draw into his service in a constantly building upward spiral. He really should have tried the life of a trainer sooner, but girls with their pretty bodies were so fun to fool around with that he always had another distraction when he thought about it. Now that he was in a new place about to start over, he figured it was finally about time to get started.

He wiped away a bit of drool from his lips. He really needed to find something to do around here, but his future Pokemon was just waiting for him at the front of any of these lines. There was a big temptation to talk with the flirty one, but it seemed like almost all of the other guys were in that line already. He'd be better of getting his Pokemon quickly and finding someone without such a following first. She was showing them something as they passed, probably some contact info, that she didn't want the other two to see, and he got an idea. It wasn't his usual type of play, but he figured instigating a catfight would entertain him, and who knew? Maybe he could utilize that as an in with this more straight-laced girl. She would probably take a lot of time to wear down into a fun toy, but it tended to be more fun to watch the real hardline ones eventually fall.

He got into the shortest line keeping an eye on the other girl. He wanted to know her timing perfectly counting the seconds before she would reveal her little secret to the trainer, so he could call the girl's attention at just the right moment. Of course, he'd wait until after he got hold of his Pokemon first figuring those two lines would grind to a screeching halt once the hard-ass was berating the flirt for what she was doing.

Once he reached the front of the line, he'd offer out his hand with the soft smile he had spent weeks practicing in front of the mirror. "Hello, I'm Casey, and I'm here to get my first Pokemon." He continued keeping track of the timing in his head, but now that he was in front of the girl, he didn't dare spare a glance to the flirt. He couldn't risk letting this girl know when the other was showing off the writing until he had a Pokemon in his hot little hands first.

Assuming he got hold of his Pokemon and Pokedex without any interruptions, he'd lean in closer and start to whisper conspiratorially. "Don't look until the signal, but your associate is showing something interesting she doesn't want you to see right..about..now!" He walked away from the line immediately after giving the signal planning to have covered a fair distance before whatever the fuse he'd just lighted up went off.

Ahhh, from one bustling city to the next. She could almost say it's like she never left Lumiose, but the City of Light was practically sleepy in comparison to the energetic welcome she's being given here at Moorville. The excited vibes were welcome even though she herself wasn't participating in this whole morning routine... juuust a bit too much activity, she'd rather be enjoying a coffee at a cafe, not exercising. Unfortunately, she did that at the airport. Still! It was good to soak in the vibes and watch the cutie bounce around on screen while she planned out what she'd do now that she was finally here. It was a new region! Her task was open-ended, she could easily do as she pleased while she was busy with it! She's allowed to have fun! She at least lets her Venipede ride on her shoulder once she's decided where she's going, let him get used to the energy of the city while they're here. It might end up being an impromptu home base before she starts really travelling the region.

...But she also doesn't have a lot of practical experience as a Trainer, just spectating her big sis's battles. Wandering right out of the city would get her somewhere, sure, but it probably wouldn't be good wherever it ended up being. She decides it'll be much wiser to go meet the city's gym leader and get some pointers for the region, maybe get put in a good direction to start herself off in. "Alright, big guy, let's go meet new people. Hold on tight and don't get bumped off, alright?"

Sydnie stood in the empty, dark alleyway. She was pretty sure she had came her brains out on this particular wall sometime in the last few weeks. Couldn't remember really. Her adventure here had been one wild rollercoaster train wreck. But that was then. Now, she needed to stay out of sight. Not easy considering the morning was just beginning. She couldn't leave now. Classic strategy of skipping out of town would have her pimp(s) searching all exits the moment she was discovered missing. She had tried a similar escape, which seemed so long ago, but it just didn't pan out. She supposed she was lucky to get a second chance like this.

Once she heard that drugs were being involved, that's when she realized she had made a mistake in staying. Sure, they gave her food, water, shelter and all the dicks she could handle, but she didn't want to end up as your typical hooker that OD'd on some shady stuff. She liked living, thank you very much. So with that, she began to plan her escape.

It was simple enough to cause a distraction. After all, she knew her girls and their customers. All she had to do was find a pair with beef with each other and they'd be in a catfight in an instant. If they were customer, it'd probably devolve into a hate fuck threeway. Some customers (and Sydnie herself) was kinda into that. Shaking her head, she had to plan out her escape from here. All she had was the thin clothes on her back, a handful of tips from a rather cute, but overstimulated customer, and her personal pride and joy: a Ralts from her home region. It wasn't her families or caught by her, but was given as an egg by a rather nice customer. She let him do her raw in public for that one.

In any case, to get away properly, she needed a disguise. The mall was a good enough location to start. And so with glances to ensure the way was clear, she took off in the back allies to the mall. There she could also blend in with the crowd, with a bit of luck.

Hannah couldn't help but shiver as she took her first step off the ferry and into the Uslane region. It was mostly due to the cool morning air on the skin left exposed by her dress, but there was also the excitement she felt at being here. This was her first time getting to cover stories outside her home town and, while there was never a dull moment in bustling Castella City, even in the considerably smaller Brightstar, Hannah felt free to really go wild. Not to mention, being cooped up on that ferry for days on end had been a more maddening experience then she could have ever imagined. While things were happening in the world around her, there was nothing she could do but read other peoples reporting! Rather than just stay in her room and read the news the whole time or respond to the barrage of messages from her worry wort of a mother, Hannah did fall back on her old hobby of people watching. There were plenty of people on the boat, but trying to talk to them didn't prove to be particularly interesting. Aspiring trainers, hopped up on the excitement of a journey to a new region always seemed to talk about the same things for whatever reason.

But that was all behind her now. Hannah was in Uslane and ready to get to the bottom of this terrorist attack. On the advice of some colleagues, she had traveled light and only had a small suitcase with a few changes of clothes and some make up and other travel supplies, along with small bag hanging from her shoulder that had a laptop for work, her camera, a recorder, a notebook and a large amount of business cards to hand out to just about everyone she met. With her belongings in hand, Hannah set out for Professor Hazel's lab. As the site of the attack she was looking into, it was a natural first stop, not to mention a Pokemon for protection and a Pokedex to help her get around would be vital. Hannah had always borrowed Pokemon from her colleagues for stories that she would need one on, but obviously no one would give her one to take across the world for an indefinite period of time, so she was on her own now.

Unfortunately, literally everyone else on the boat she had just got off of was heading to the same place. And while she was taking in the sights of a new city in a new region, they had all already lined up for their free stuff which left Hannah with a bit of a dilemma. Neither assistant seemed particularly appealing to her as a source at this point in time. The flirty one was getting swarmed and the stern one was more likely to cuss her out judging by her attitude towards everything else. The professor seemed like a better bet, even though it was obvious that she would rather be just about anywhere else right now, Hannah thought it might be easier to get her to talk if approached from the right angle. With that in mind, Hannah got in the professors line and waited patiently for her turn. "Professor Hazel! My name is Hannah Salk, a syndicated journalist." Hannah introduced herself in her usual upbeat tone when her turn came, leaning in just enough to show a little bit of cleavage as she handed the professor a business card. Hannah had practiced this a lot until it looked unintentional, as she had found that made it more effective while reducing any potential risk of coming across as too forward. "I know you're busy right now, but I'd love to sit down and chat about your research if you have some time later. Or one of your assistants even, I know how busy you are after all." Hannah tells the professor with a bright smile. Obviously meeting with one of the assistants was less desirable, but Hannah figured it would still work out better this way as they would be forced to take it more seriously coming from their boss than if Hannah had approached one of them herself.

Lumina rolled out of bed, wearing her sky blue bra and panties with white lace. Despite her severe depression, she also felt as though today would be different from the others, as if she was actually feeling the slightest bit hopeful that she could one day be happy because of the journey she, her sister, and her new Pokemon would be going on today. She didn't waste any time taking her shower and getting dressed, she neither wanted her sister to see her scars from cutting, nor her tattoo. She often wished she hadn't gotten addicted to cutting herself, so that she could wear revealing clothes, and she wished this even more when she looked at herself in the mirror every morning as she brushed her hair. She took the quickest shower of her life, though mostly because she wanted to do something before she left the house.

Just like usual, she looked at herself in the mirror for a moment when she stepped out of the shower. Despite her unusual feeling about the start of her journey, she couldn't help feeling upset with herself every time she looked in the mirror. The dark circles around her eyes... the scars on her body... she was often unsure of how she felt about her tattoo, she didn't hate that she had gotten one, it was an exercise of her own authority over herself, but she was never sure how she felt about it. Her gaze eventually fell on her teal eyes... she shook her head and looked away, then she quickly finished getting ready, putting on her black and purple striped bra and panties, then she went to her closet, not minding that in just her underwear, Torekka would see her scars and tattoos, she had seen them before since they share a room. She looked into her closet, deciding what to wear, before eventually settling on a black sleeveless T-shirt, a black zip-up jacket with a red stripe down each arm, a red skirt, black leggings, and black boots, before grabbing her Ninjaken and its scabbard, putting them into their rightful place on her lower back, then grabbing her metal guitar with a checkerboard pattern and a neck designed to look like playing cards, after which she shoved open her window and rested one foot on the window sill, plugging her guitar into her amp beside the window.

She didn't usually just decide to play a song from her bedroom window, but she felt like she was in that sort of mood. She put the strap of her guitar on, then began to play her favorite song, singing along, as she knew the lyrics by heart. She wasn't sure how many people would be able to hear her, but that wasn't really the point... then again, she did decide to play from the window... it doesn't matter, she told herself, nothing matters.

When she finished, she strapped her guitar to her back in such a way that she could grab the neck if she ever felt the urge to play. She understood how moody she was, sometimes just getting the urge to play out of the blue, no specific song every time, just one that she was feeling at that specific time. She stepped down from the window and unplugged her guitar from the amp. She grabbed her travel amps so that she could play on the go, realizing her riffs would be far less impressive without an amp. As she packed her bag full of spare clothes, she considered that if she had Exia playing with her, she'd have sounded better... songs always sounded better with bass. She turned to Torekka, to check and see if they were ready to go see Exia and start their journey. Whether Torekka is ready or not, Mina would tell them "Come on... we need to get in gear so I can catch a Rattata..." before heading downstairs to see Exia.
--
Exia was awake much before Lumina was, having gotten used to waking up early thanks to the amount of work she did in the past. This gave her plenty of time to take a shower, style her hair, iron out any wrinkles in her clothing, and all sorts of miscellaneous hygiene and looks tasks. She decided her main outfit for her pokemon journey would be a fancy looking outfit that consisted of a white undershirt and short skirt, and a black and orange vest with gold stylings to go along with it. Along with red thigh high stockings and red lapel. Finally there was a pair of black high boots. It was by far the fanciest outfit she had that she had spent quite a bit of money on, so it seemed fitting to use it in her journey.

By the time Exia was fully ready to start, Lumina had only just began taking her shower. She decided to spend the rest of the time inspecting her pokedex and researching all she could about the pokemon she may encounter, devoting extra attention to Spinirak and Zorua entries. Her relation with her pokemon was very clinical and formal for now, she really only did all of this for her sister, so she felt no real attachment to the Spinirak she got. She didn’t exactly plan on neglecting it or anything, but she didn’t go out of her way to keep it out of its ball or anything for now.

By the time she finished refreshing her memory on her knowledge of the various Pokemon they may meat, she realized that Lumina was playing her guitar and singing. It was muffled and Exia couldn’t make out many words through the walls, but it was clear what she was doing. She smiled slightly, hoping that perhaps the music gave her sister some happiness in life, even if the lyrics were usually very melancholy. It reminded her not to forget her own instrument. So she walked over to where the black leather case was that held her bass and brought it next to her door so that when she walked out she wouldn’t forget it.

When the music stops, Mina enters the room shortly after, her guitar strapped across her back, her Ninjaken on her lower back, her pack on and ready. “If you’re prepared to leave, we’re only waiting on Torekka… first thing we should do is obtain the legendary Rattata...” she says, her face completely serious as she explains this. She then pauses before adding “Make sure you bring your bass… so you can bring the thunder.” she says, staring at Exia’s feet.

Torekka didn’t have much of a morning routine at all. She had taken to using a toothbrush and mouthwash occasionally. Showering was nice as well, but with Mina using the shower Torekka just switched out of her human form and ran some warm water from the sink over her fur before shaking dry. She did have a bit of fun impersonating Mina as she was getting dressed, mostly just twirling around and “trying on” different clothes. She only had one real piece of clothing, it was a light grey blazer that she could use to either keep herself warm, or cover her tail if tied around her waist. Since it wasn’t all that cold she opted for around the waist. The dynamic between Torekka and the two girls what a bit awkward, sure she was basically being blackmailed by Exia, but Lumina did really seem to need help. And despite how much Torekka liked to cause mischief, she could tell that Lumina needed to be cheered up. As soon as Lumina had finished playing her song, Torekka gave her a quick but confident round of applause. “Very good Mina!” She said while giving a little fist bump into the air. It was a bit loud for her ears but she did enjoy how it sounded overall. “Yes of course, we can get into gear so you can catch a Rattata!” She said. Most of the dialogue she imitated was from party goers, so it was always excited.

Exia was sitting on a chair by her bed patiently waiting for Lumina and her pokemon to enter. As soon as they did Exia got up and crossed her arms, nodding at Lumina’s words. “Of course I’m prepared sister, if I wasn’t I wouldn’t hear the end of it. Also I keep telling you, Rattata is not a legendary or rare pokemon, in some regions it is more common than dirt.” Exia says the exact same thing every time Lumina mentions Rattata being legendary or rare or special in some way, she most certainly didn’t understand Lumina’s enthusiasm towards Rattata’s, but she supposed at least it kept her focused on a goal. “My bass is right next to you sister.” She said as if Lumina didn’t see it, she then walked over to the case that held said bass and picked it up by the handle. She then also walked over the bed and grabbed her own pack, strapping it over her other shoulder before walking back to Lumina. “Make sure your pokemon doesn’t run off while we travel.” She looked over to Torekka with a face of ‘don’t even think about it.’

Mina didn’t really react outwardly to her sister one again claiming Rattata wasn’t special, this was clearly fake news. Despite having plenty to say on the subject, she decided to keep quiet, it’s best not to encourage Exia further, she can just show her how amazing Rattata is once she catches one. When Exia mentions that he bass is right next to her, she gives it a quick glance. Of course she knew it was there, mentioning it was more to just ensure she didn’t forget it when they left, not to see if she had it prepared. When she says to make sure that Torekka doesn’t run off, she glances at Torekka and mumbles “Uhhh… Torekka… please don’t run off… that would be real uncool.” then turns back to Exia “I guess the first thing we should do is ask around… so we can find out where I can catch a Rattata…” she says, after which she flips up her collar and begins heading for the door, expecting Torekka and Exia to follow her.

Exia frowns a little as she sees her sisters face contort in a way that she knew meant Mina disagreed with her. She had known her sister for quite a long time, and knew how to read her pretty well at this point. Exia didn’t decide to push the subject though, knowing Mina’s infatuation with Rattata was ingrained into her mind, and that if she hadn’t rooted it out of her sisters mind by now, she never would. She let out a discontented sigh as Mina lazily asked for Torekka to not run off, but said nothing as she walked to where her bass was, grabbing it and motioning for Torekka to follow her down. Once they reached downstairs Exia took a small detour to say goodbye to her parents, knowing this would be the last time they would see them for a long time. It didn’t take very long though as this was planned for a long time, so they were quite prepared. After the goodbyes, Exia headed to the front door to begin her pokemon journey and band.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The Professor being the 2nd longest line, your wait to get to her is a bit lengthy. For the most part, it’s a rather boring wait as the Trainers around you mostly talk, to themselves or otherwise, about how they’re going to be the best there ever was or fill up the PokéDex completely or one of the many things you’ve already heard on the boat over. ”Goddammit, Liliana, again!?” The hard ass assistant suddenly yells. You’re not sure what’s going on, but the Ditz, apparently named Liliana, doesn’t seem to be worried about it at all. “Don’t know what you’re talking about, Jackie~.” She says, a smug grin on her face. You could swear she was aiming that not at Jackie, but a man who just moved off to the side. You’re not sure what’s going on, but you’ve very glad that you’re not in either of their lines since the small argument have brought the both of them to a screeching halt. ”One day, I’m gonna catch you in the act. One fucking day!” Jackie grumbles, the lack of proof shutting her steam off before it can really build. ”Sure, sure. And one day you’ll get laid as well. Maybe they’ll fuck ya so good it’ll pop that stick out of your ass.” She says teasingly, a small giggle following. Jackie growls menacingly, but both of them straighten their backs and look to the Professor when she gives a small cough. ”That’s quite enough, thank you.” Is all she says, but both Jackie and Liliana get back to work immediately,

The strange interlude over, all lines between moving again and it’s not long before you’re deposited right in front of the Professor. With a professional, but very insincere smile, she says, ”Hello and welcome to the Uslane Region. I am Professor Hazel and I will be giving you the basic tools you need to survive here.” Her voice is almost robotic for how much feeling she is putting into her spiel. She holds a PokéBall out to you. ”Here is your Pokémon, randomly selected out of the many we have available in this Region. Please do not lose it as we are only able to give out one free due to the large demand. Here is your PokéDex. Not only will it fulfill the functions of a PokéDex, but it also comes equipped with the functions of a PokéNav. Whether to call or search the map, your PokéDex handles it all. Just please be sure not to lose it. The instant you touch it, it collects DNA to key itself to you and assign you a Trainer ID number. Once your Trainer ID is keyed to a PokéDex, we cannot give you another one for free due to high demand.” She hands you the PokéDex and you hear a brief chirp as it does exactly what she said it would. Within moments, you see the screen flash with your Trainer ID number and a cheery welcome screen, signaling the PokéDex as yours.

With a sigh, she finally ends her spiel and actually listens to what you have to say. You see her face move slightly towards annoyance when you mention you are a journalist before she visibly squashes the impulse. You see her eyes dip towards your cleavage for a moment, but they return to your face quickly enough that you could have imagined it if it wasn’t a response you were counting on creating. Her expression smooths out and you dare say she’s now even a little interested in what you have to say when you mention speaking about her research. ”Finally, someone’s willing to talk about something I’m actually interested in. The past few days it’s been ’Oh, which Pokémon did you fend off Native with?’ this or ’Do you know why they attacked you at all?’ that! It is been a very trying few days. Come back around noon. That’s when I’m allowed to tell the rest of these so-called Trainers so shove off and get back to my research, but I can spare a bit of time then.” She says, a smile on her face as she does.
And now you have an in! Given to you by the Professor herself even. It’s about 8AM now, so you still have to find a way to kill 4 hours (2 posts), before you can speak with Professor Hazel.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Observation Roll
You keep an eye on the Flirt as you move through the line, but, despite your best efforts, you can’t establish a pattern. It doesn’t seem like she has a set period before she shows her hand again, it just doesn’t happen unless the person, usually male, in front of her passes some set of standards only she knows. It could be 3 seconds before she does it again, it could be 13 seconds. Either way, a pattern that does not make. The only thing you can do is keep an eye on her and attempt your plan when you see it happen.

Before too terribly long, you are in front of the Hard-Ass, whose disposition doesn’t seem to have improved any from you moving to the back of the line up to this point. She doesn’t seem to care much as you introduce yourself. “Shocking, a newbie Pokémon Trainer is in line for the Professor to get their first Pokémon. Truly, such a thing has never happened before.” She says, voice dripping sarcasm as she rolls her eyes. “Alright, numbnuts, here’s your Pokémon. Try not to do something stupid like get it killed cause you’re not getting another one. This PokéDex here, she holds out a PokéDex to illustrate her point, “will be keyed to you when you touch it. Meaning we will know that you received a Pokémon here and we will know which Pokémon you received here. It does PokéDex shit and has the functions of a PokéNav installed as well so you’re not cluttering your pack with unnecessary shit. Map, Calling, the whole nine yards. Don’t lose it cause you’re not getting another one.” Her spiel done, she hands you the PokéDex, which makes a brief chirp as it touches your hand. You suppose it has your fingerprint now or something. Moments later, it displays a Trainer ID number and a cheery welcome screen, meaning this is now yours, you suppose.

Still, getting your Pokémon was only one thing you wanted to do. Out of the corner of your eye, you keep track of the Flirt’s actions. When she moves her hand, you give your signal… only for her hand to already be back in place. Still, it seems your assistant is familiar with her coworker’s habits so she doesn’t need proof so much as a reason. ”Goddammit, Liliana, again!?” The assistant you just left shouts over to the newly named Liliana. “Don’t know what you’re talking about, Jackie~.” She says, a smug grin on her face as she looks in your direction. It seems she has made a game out of this and you’ve fallen right into it. She may not have seen you trying to track her, but she knew immediately who ratted on her when Jackie called her out. And you doubt either of them are going to forget. Jackie seems too vindictive and Liliana just made you a tool in her game. ”That’s quite enough, thank you.” Is all she says, but both Jackie and Liliana get back to work immediately, cutting any entertainment short.

Exia, Lumina, and Torekka
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The PokéDex doesn’t offer Exia much information since it is brand new. It gives her a full run down on Spinarak and Zorua, letting her know she can find Spinarak on Route 112 and Route 119 in the day and Zorua on Route 106, but as she has not seen a Rattata yet, it does not tell her where they can find one. She would either have to have her PokéDex scan someone else’s Rattata or find it in the wild first. Of course, if she finds it in the wild, the point is pretty well moot since she can just catch it for Lumina. The PokéDex also does not give her a concrete number of Pokémon to expect on this journey, which, given the reputation of this Region, is somewhat understandable. It is quite possible no one has FOUND all the Pokémon in this Region just yet. To fulfill Lumina’s goal, it seems conversations with other, more experienced Trainers or maybe observant strangers will be the way to go.

With everyone ready and all stuff gathered, the trio prepare to hit the road, only a brief aside to speak to their parents holding them up. Their mom from whom neither sister inherited their figure from given her more stacked nature, is flitting around the kitchen with her usual cheer, making a quick portable breakfast for the departing trio. Their dad clutches a cup of coffee to him as if it is all that’s keeping him alive right now. Normally he wouldn’t even be awake right now, his job in Fairsage not for another couple of hours, but clearly he’s making the effort in order to see his kids off. They make small talk, with small, subtle attempts to convince their children to find a way to cheer Lumina up that’s a bit closer to home, but they are very weak attempts at best. They know they’re not going to win and they know their daughters’ happiness trumps all so their mom waves them out the door with breakfast in hand and a cheery wave.

The best person to talk to for locating a specific Pokémon would be Professor Hazel and her crew, but that has the obvious problem of making the trio wait in line until the Professor or one of her assistants are available. From your house, you can see the lines already. The one in front of Jackie are almost brutally short, but given what you know of her personality that isn’t a surprise. You could hear her shouting through your windows earlier after all. Liliana’s line is almost comically long, which also isn’t a shock. She enjoys flirting with damn near everyone she lays eyes on so it makes sense she draws the most people. Hell, you can see a few of them drooling over her from here! Professor Hazel herself has a modest line, but it’d still probably be more of a wait than you want. Most of the Trainers you see milling around are, very obviously, new to the Region so they wouldn’t be any help at all. You suppose maybe the PokéCenter or the PokéMart would know something about where to find things, but that isn’t a certainty. It could just as easily be a waste of your time. Still, there’s nothing for it but to try and see.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Finishing yourself off, you make your way out of your borrowed room and out of the PokéCenter, the nurse on duty giving you a cheery wave as you exit. “See you later!” She calls after you as you walk out, knowing she’d likely see you later on in the day depending on when you got in. Nurse shifts are brutal, 12 hour affairs. Makes one wonder how they have time to be them if they still get 8 hours of sleep. Leaving the Center behind, you make your way to the Trainer’s School, a small hoard of students ranging from zombie-like to bright eyed and bushy tailed milling around you from their own homes, the PokéCenter like you, a friend’s home, or fresh off one of the Routes that feed into the City. As one of the, if not the City with the most points of access to it, the population of the City swells and dips as wanderlust takes its inhabitants and/or more move in to find a place for their weary bones for a time. You’re enveloped in a cacophony of noise as the students move to the school and find friends to talk to, or at the very least talk at. You see a girl who makes you question how old the students are animatedly talking to one who looks like she’d much rather be dead than awake right now, the conversation entirely one sided as the more awake one jumps from topic to topic while the other seems more focused on her cat and stayed awake, though she does grunt from time to time to show she’s paying marginal attention.

Once you fight your way through the crowd of students and make it to the building proper, you figure the best place to look for a job would be the Principal’s office, so you make your way there. Sitting in a desk doing unenviable amounts of paperwork is either the secretary or someone a bit more important. Engrossed in her paperwork, or not firing on all cylinders since you see a mug of coffee next to her, she doesn’t notice you for quite some time. When she finally does, she reacts with a start. “Oh! Good day, Miss! Are you Sasha’s mom finally here for that conference? Or do you have another reason for visiting today.” She says with a professional smile on her face. The face fades a bit and her voice lowers slightly, as if she doesn’t mean for you to hear the next part. “Please say you’re Sasha’s mom. We’ve been waiting for this chick for 2 frickin’ months.” As if realizing she’s speaking to herself, her smile clicks back on and her voice raises. “Anyways, how can I help you today?”

Upon entering the PokéMart, you hear a rather bored voice drone “Welcome to the Clearwater PokéMart. Lemme know if you need help finding something.” Turning to the source of the voice leads to the Mart’s corner where a rather bored woman seems to be absentmindedly doing inventory. Or at least, that’s what you assume from the tablet she’s holding while occasionally scanning the storefront. You see her jaw moving so you assume she must be chewing gum as well. Not that it’s really your problem. You see the store is rather well stocked, but great swathes of the merchandise is sealed behind solid metal slabs with indentations on them. How many indentations seem to vary throughout the store, but you can’t seem to figure out what they mean. Would probably need to ask. Regardless, you can see a small place in every sealed section where the employee can put their badge for easy access. The area you see that isn’t sealed is rather slim pickings though. Just the basic necessities to make sure you don’t do too terribly out there.

After whatever conversation you wish to have with the clerk and picking out any items you wish to purchase, you move on to the beach. It’s on the opposite side of the inlet which holds the port holding the Ferry, as if trying to get as far away from it as possible. It takes up a lot more of the coastline than the Ferry does as well, as if it were grudgingly installed. On the beach, you see quite a few people warming up for a swim in the ocean, swimsuits and wetsuits on parade as they prepare to venture out to sea. There’s a life watch attendant on duty, but from how bored she looks, it’s more likely she’s only here as a precaution and, given the longing look she occasionally gives to the water, would much rather be joining everyone else in the ocean. You see another girl waiting on the coastline, board in the sand next to her as she waits for a decent wave to ride. Right next to her is a rather pale gentleman his board tucked into the sand next to the girl’s as they kill time together. The conversation seems rather laidback as if neither of them have a care in the world. Off to the side, you see a man with white scars lounging in a chair, seeming to be more focused on soaking up the morning sun than the sea itself. And of said sea, you can see a plethora of both Water-types either swimming along or occasionally breaching and Flying-types soaring above the surf, either hunting for food or simply enjoying the sea breeze. Whether or not you attempt to convince one of them to join your side is up to you. This early in the morning, it doesn’t seem like anyone else of much import is out, either already in the water swimming laps or still in bed and thus immune to the water’s call.

Fairsage City

Sydnie
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The Fairsage Department Store, the center of town and the majority of its commerce, isn’t too terribly far away from the alley you found yourself in. The Brothel you oh so recently were an employee of tried to build itself closer to the Department Store to leech off of its success, but the huge backlash and inability to secure building rights meant that it didn’t happen. Instead the Brothel found itself built near the outskirts of the city with no Route feeding into or and about as far away from everything else as can be. The people running the Brothel blame that as one of the many reasons why that branch is failing. But that isn’t your problem anymore beyond the fact that it means a) you can likely find someone willing to hide you if it comes down to it since no one likes the brothel (or at least won’t admit it if they do. Your customers had to come from somewhere), and b) unless they were a customer at some point no one is likely to recognize you as a whore. Even if they were a customer, so long as you made it worth their while they probably wouldn’t rat you out to the staff.

As you enter the Department store, still rather empty given the early hour, you see the directory for it. On the first floor you’ll find clothing and the like, second floor holds Pokémon essentials, third holds Pokémon supplements, fourth is general goods and the food court, and the top floor leads to a rooftop view. After a quick scan, you don’t see anyone you need to hide from just yet, but you just escaped so it is possible they haven’t raised the alarm yet. You still have time to do some shopping before the walls start closing in on you yet. You notice that clothes and wigs/hair dye go for a lot cheaper than the Pokémon stuff the next floor up, clothes being no more than 10PD and wigs averaging at about 3PD while hair dye is 1PD. You can disguise yourself for cheap and still have enough money for other things.

Moorville

Liah
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Given the large board on top of the Gym, it isn’t any trouble to make your way there. As could be expected of a building large enough to be seen from the pier, it’s a rather tall building and you’re given no indication of which floor Tricia will be on. Well, that would be the case normally, you suppose. Right now there’s a small line with the explanation “Super ELECTRIC Meet-Up Time! Daily from 6AM-10AM. No Battles, just ENERGY!” sliding across an electric billboard. You can also see on the billboard she schedules Gym battles from 12PM-8PM (Super ELECTRIC battle time! Try your POWER against Tricia’s!) and the Gym is closed from 8PM-6AM (Idol Tricia needs to recharge to stay ELECTRIC!), but that’s a more minor concern right now. In deference to the fact that no one is coming to battle her right now, Tricia greets everyone right from the ground floor instead of making them climb the tower up to her. You suppose that’s part of her Gym challenge, defeating floors of Trainers before being allowed to meet her. There’s an elevator behind her, but you’re not sure that’s used during business hours anyway since that would cut her entire challenge off.

For the most part, the line moves quickly as most of the people in it are merely fans of Tricia who want the opportunity to shake her hand or have a quick word with her before going about their day. Some seem to be regulars who have short conversations with her before also breaking off to go about their day. By far the longest interruption is a regular, with a sort of girl next door look about her, has a long conversation with the both of them laughing throughout before she jets off with an energetic wave. Finally, you find yourself before the bouncy Gym leader. ”Oh, you’re a new face! Welcome to Tricia’s ENERGETIC Gym!” She says, taking one of your hands in both of hers and giving it an energetic shake. Looking at your shoulder, she sees your Venipede and her smile widens. ”Aha! You must be a Trainer! I don’t see PokéBalls on your belt so they’re either in your bag or you’re new, fresh off the boat and ready to tackle a new region with all your ENERGY! Did you come for advice? Or maybe just to scope out the competition? I’ll warn you now, I’m not a Gym leader just for my looks!” She says the last part teasingly, very obviously making a joke as she takes a playfully imposing stance. She seems to assume you’re new because she just keeps on going. ”I’d say… first find your core party. The Pokémon you trust the most to POWER through any and all obstacles. You’ll probably need to get some PokéBalls first. Which costs money. You can get a bit of cash battling other Trainers and winning, but you can just as easily lose money if you aren’t up for the challenge. Besides that, there are always oddjobs that someone needs doing but aren’t ENERGETIC enough to get around to. If you get lucky, Pokémon themselves have money they snatched off some poor soul who lost to them. I wouldn’t count on that though. If you get lucky, someone will sponsor you and bankroll your adventure, but I wouldn’t count on that either. Besides all that icky stuff, just have fun and you’ll find things usually work themselves out!” She says, apparently done with her rant. ”Was there anything else Idol Tricia can do for you?”

It's not a suprise how "in to" the gimmick the gym is getting here, if the entire city is already on board with some morning aerobics courtesey of the leader. Not a suprise, but still the strangest bit intimidating; after all, what if all that energy and positivity ended up being infectious? She might end up doing strange and risky things like "smiling while she's happy" or "dressing in brighter colors"! Far too dangerous of a consequence.

...Liah heads in, having entertained herself with that train of thought during her approach. It's CERTAINLY not a suprise how there's a line to interact with such a popular idol like this, but she supposed she was lucky to find it wouldn't be such a terrible wait. She did at least enjoy watching Tricia talk to who she could only assume was a friend of hers, or perhaps some sort of similarly-high-energy partner of some sort. Certainly was one of the less boring waits she could think of, having a couple of cuties to non-subtly look at as a reward for her patience. Finally though, she's got her chance to talk to the gym leader... and is quickly wrapped up in her high-octane spiel. Getting her newbie status read like that wasn't a shock, she remains patient and listens carefully to those starter tips she's being given. The points about making cash rung true, she really didn't have much on her right now with the temptation of expensive airport food being too great, so she might need to figure out something she can- Ah, Tricia seems to be finished. Liah was expecting her to go on for a little longer.

"Well, you had me pegged as fresh pretty easily, it's just me and Venipede right now. While I'm not quite here on a League challenge, challenging your Gym might still be on the table in the future- I'm here for scientific purposes. I'm here to work on filling a Pokedex for a scientist back in Kalos, though it's entirely likely I'll find something to catch my intrigue besides that. I was curious if there were any smart places to begin nearby that wouldn't be too strenuous on myself and Venipede. And... I suppose getting pointed in the direction of some work wouldn't hurt either if I'm going to be affording the supplies to travel out further. Did you have any ideas for that, or perhaps someone you could point me at to get started in that direction?"

It's a little annoying that he can't find a pattern to the girl's actions, but he figures that isn't any reason to not have his fun. The hardass is quite a bit more abrasive than he'd expected. Even if she had heard it a million times before, did she expect him to not introduce himself? He let it slide for now as he had his plan to cause trouble anyway, but it seemed he had been had by the flirt. Had she caught on to his attention, or was she just that practiced at not getting caught? He couldn't know for certain, and he didn't really care. After that disappointing spectacle, he was sure it was time to call both of them a bust and move on to something new.

Continuing to make his way out of sight of the crowd getting their Pokémon, he pulled out the ball he'd been given and tossed it out in front of him ready to see his new Pokémon. He hadn't really spent a lot of time getting familiar with the various Pokémon as that was what the PokéDex was practically made for. He gave it a look around until he found the lens which he pointed at it to discover that his new Pokémon was an Espurr. A Psychic-type could be pretty interesting, and he realized it had identified this one as female. He squatted down in front of her taking on a friendly tone. "Hey there girl, I'm your new master." He put his hand atop her head rubbing it back and forth. "I think the two of us are going to have a lot of fun together, you and I. First things first, I need to know what you can do, but I can do that on the way." Standing back up, he walked towards the entrance to Route 101 while he fiddled with the PokéDex to see if it had any information on his new Pokémon expecting her to follow along behind him. He needed to at least know what moves she could perform before he stumbled his way into any battles. A few fights to get the feel for how these battles worked would probably be good and maybe he'd find something wild with a bit of promise...

He stopped suddenly as he realized the mistake he had almost made. How would he capture a wild Pokémon if he didn't have any Pokéballs? He grabbed his wallet finding the 540 PokéDollars he had left. That ticket really had nearly cleaned him out, but he figured it should be enough to get a couple. He hadn't seen a PokéMart when he arrived, but he gave it a second look. If he didn't see anything, he figured the Pokémon Center would be able to point him in the right direction, or this could be one of those regions where both were in the same building too. Wherever he decided to go, he'd chose now to see how well Espurr was keeping up.

Walking slowly, but with purpose, Sydnie walked through the mall. She couldn't see any pimps or their muscle around. Didn't mean that she could afford to let her guard down. If they caught her, she'd probably be drugged out of her mind for who knows what. No thanks.

A quick look over the directory made her plan out her trip quickly. Taking the escalators two steps at a time, she made it to the fourth floor in record time, picking up a backpack to put her things in, for when she was on the road further out. About to leave 5p lighter, she came across a rod tube that looked a lot like the one back home.

Her father was a fishing enthusiast, always hauling her and her mother out south of town to fish for pokemon for fun. Of course, most of the time it was Magikarp, but it was a fun thing to fish in and of itself.

Overcome with a wave of nostalgia, she picked it out and left with both things in tow. Once she managed to clear her head and focus again, of course. Then it was basically down back to ground level. Keeping an eye out for any potential trouble, she quietly slipped into the clothing department. She needed new threads, and fast. Picking out pieces she thought were nice, she compiled a set of gear for traveling. Heading to the changing rooms once she was done, she tried them on.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Cap, earrings, sunglasses, tanktop, a utility belt for holding her pokeballs, and a fairly sturdy set of jeans. That was an additional 60p on top of the 10 spent on the fourth floor.

There was one small issue though: She was still all too recognizable. Groaning in frustration, she was frantically looking through the shelves of clothing when she happened upon a sundress and hat set. In the changing room once again, she decided to change things up a bit, by letting her hair flow loose under the sun hat.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Now she was getting somewhere. Looking over at the wigs, she even decided to go for broke by getting a wig that was a similar style to hers, but a light gray. Her hair was too noticeable, but the gray one looked almost like a dyed blonde to work out. In an extreme measure, she even got the hair dye sets that matched both the wig and her own, in case she actually needed to dye her hair in a pinch.

Funny enough, a pinch was what her non existent wallet felt as she coughed up 95p and hurried out in her new sundress disguise to her last stop on the second floor, she she looked over the primary things she would need to survive once she got out of the city.

Pokeball was a luxury. She could focus on those once she was out of here. Potion was definitely a must have, so she took one off the shelf before pondering about the status cures. She knw that statuses could cause an early death if not properly treated, but she only had a handful on cash left, which one should she get?

After pondering for about 10 seconds, she went with the antidote. She'd have to chance it that there wasn't any other status inflicting pokemon out on the routes until she made it to the next town.

Now down to a measly 35p, she ran up to the food court to grab a bite and ditch town. Her best chance was probably to take the north west exit out of town, so once she got something cheap, she would be trying to get there before the goons caught up with her.

Lucy had forgotten how chaotic these Trainer schools could be. Or maybe it could just be because of all the routes that lead into and out of Pewterton City. Before beginning her own journey, she attended a trainer's school in Kanto. It was a small little school house with only a few students, but Lucy was able to pickup the basics. Compared to that, this school was like a little town. In the sea of students, two stood out to her. One looking a little more mature and energetic then the others. The other looked like she had walked right through a cloud of sleep powder. Lucy was interested in seeing what kind of pokemon they were interested in.

Once she was at the Principal's office, Lucy waited patiently until she got the secretary's attention. "Unfortunately no, I'm not Sasha's mom" She said with a warm smile. "My name is Lucy Vanderstand. I moved to Pewterton City a month ago from Johto. I was wondering if you had any openings for new teachers or instructors? I actually have experience as both a trainer and a breeder." As Lucy finished, she took out a pokedex and a set of seven badges. All of them were forgeries Lucy obtained as she went on the run to hid her old identity. She could have pretended to have gotten all eight badges, but that would be too dishonest.

morning time.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

When the morning came, Kahua was awake. He'd been awake since 3 AM, working nonstop on his plan of finding his mother. While not terribly bright, Kahua had picked up a few options from his sister, and it wasn't too hard to look over a map and consider which routes were good to cross and what would be on the way or closer to Brightstar, his final destination. Rufus turned out to be quite literally on the way, but... Kahua wasn't sure the old man was his best bet. Odds were good that Paz or Mimi would know something, and even if one said no then the other might say yes, so Summerlin seemed like a great option... but then it was pretty far from Brightstar—on the other side of the continent!

... Was this a continent? Kahua wasn't sure what a continent was. But more importantly, he ended up deciding that he could still try Rufus and then, if the old man had nothing, he could head over to Summerlin then. It seemed like a good plan to him. He did intend to run it past his family during their last breakfast to see if he could get any agreement or other ideas, anyway.

Right now, he was just about to head down to see them. The boy was in a pair of shorts and was entirely missing a shirt, standing before the map to do one final review. He hadn't changed from his sleepwear since he woke up at around 3 AM, but it wasn't like his family would care anyway. Kahua yawned, and after confirming his ideas, he rolled up the map and headed downstairs to confront his family and have breakfast.

His typical entrance was made in seconds. He ran into the kitchen at the smell of food and immediately took his seat. "Aloha, family! What's breakfast?"

“Breakfast is whatever the hell I feel like making.” Is your sister’s response. Then again, that’s always her response when asked what she’s cooking so instead of an angry look, it’s a somewhat teasing grin on her face. That’s her usual style after all: Blunt, brusque words delivered around a caring or disarming smile. It’s a wonder she’s still single given her looks and her personality, but you suppose that’s not really your business. From what you can see around her shoulder, breakfast doesn’t seem to be anything too out of the ordinary: Fish, pancakes, grits, the usual fair a sea-based city might have. You’re not sure what the hell she does to the fish, but it tastes like nothing else you’ve ever had. She certainly didn’t learn it from your dad. The one time he tried cooking while you were under his care resulted in… well, you don’t wanna call it charcoal, but you could probably throw it in a furnace and use it to power the thing for a small time. That’s why he sits at the table with you instead of trying to help Alika in any way. Well, that and your sister is likely to try hitting him if he tried. Nothing fierce, but enough to know she does not appreciate the help. Alani doesn’t even try, though you know his cooking is perfectly serviceable even if nothing to write home about. Not trying rather describes a lot about your brother. He isn’t even at the table yet, likely in bed until Alika or Kahakilani goes to knock him out of it. If he had his way, he wouldn’t wake up til noon, would rush the day with his brand of energy, then be back in bed by 9.

“So where ya headed first, Kahua?” Alika asks, bringing your attention back to her. “I could almost hear you thinking about what you were up to once you got outta here. I know you don’t use your head all that much but could you turn the noise it makes down? People are trying to sleep after all.” Underneath the teasing tone Alika uses, you can still hear how worried she is about you traveling. She understands she can’t keep you here, but she also understands you are literally throwing yourself into trouble by chasing after a terrorist. Your father doesn’t say a word, but you see his eyes raise from the tablet in front of him to you, also interested in the answer to the question. While you speak, Alika throws the dirty pots and pans into the sink and drops a plate in front of you and your father before sitting down herself. Apparently either Kahakilani is getting Alani or she’s content to have him eat a cold meal. Which doesn’t sound much like Alika, but stranger things have happened.

Ah, Alani... Kahua snickered to himself as he saw Alika's mischievous plan. That lazy brother of his never liked waking up on time for anything, but they loved him anyway. Kahua just wishes he'd stop being so slow... "Route 103... no, 130? Wherever Rufus is right now!" Back on topic, he had a question to answer. Kahua looked to Alika with a grin, fully aware of the worry in her tone but not commenting on it. They've already talked before and another talk would just go the same way. "If old Uncle Rufus has nothing, then I'd head up to Summerlin to speak with Mimi or Paz. I'm not really expecting something super good from Rufus, but if I'm lucky then he can give me something and I could head off to Brightstar, ya?

He reached over to the food stationed on their table and begun serving himself, taking plenty of fish, one lone pancake, and plenty of grits. Kahua preferred his meats to his sweets... in fact if anything, he only ever ate meat. With the food on his plate, the young man began to chow down with gusto, ripping into the flesh of the cooked fish with his fork and knife. "What... you guys think?" Kahua tried talking with his mouth full because of course would. "I know Rufus is flighty, but he's closer so it's not a bad idea, right?"

Alika slaps your hand as you begin taking more than a fair share of fish, pushing more pancakes onto your plate. She knows of your lending towards meat, but, well, you’re not sure how you thought you’d escape having a balanced breakfast. That’s something she never once would have allowed. Once everyone has their food and have sat down. Alika’s face scrunches up as you mention Rufus. Well, she also shoots a glare at you for talking with your mouth full, but the Rufus thing seems to eat the majority of her attention. “Well, he isn’t the worst person you could go to for information. He always seems to know stuff he really shouldn’t, but…”

“Isn’t he on his boat?” Your father takes over between bites of his fish. You notice he gets away with having a bit more fish than you yourself got. Given she’s just as strict with her father as she is with you, you’re guessing he used her distraction with you to sneak more. “The man doesn’t take to visitors well. If you can make it worth his while, he may forgive the trespass, however. I’ve heard him trade favors before, so be prepared for something similar.”

“Yeah, that’s what I meant. No one even knows what he does on that boat. Then again, no one really asks. He keeps a lot of the buildings around here looking good so no one really wants to bother him beyond saying thanks.” Alika looks up as if wondering something.

“Well, the worst he can say is no.” Is how your father sums up the conversation. “Better than wandering to Summerlin for a lead. I would find a Pokémon who can swim, if I were you. We know he is on Route 130. We don’t know where.” With that said, the two of them begin taking apart their food.

“Think you got everything? We’re not gonna get a call saying you forgot something, right?” Alika asks, halfway through her food as the thought occurs to her.

Tch. Kahua pouted at Alika like a reprimanded child... which he practically was to her. This was their last breakfast together! Couldn't she let up the sister mom thing just this once? He thought of voicing those complaints, but he also wasn't that cruel. She was already worried that he was leaving, so... don't have to focus too much on it. Instead, Kahua focused on the topic at hand. He looked to his father as he spoke, listening to the man's sagely wisdom that Kahua knew would no doubt benefit him on his-

Did the mother fucker actually sneak more fish?? Damn it, dad. You sneaky, but very intelligent, kanapapiki! "I'll try to get something he's into on the way. Maybe like a... book or something. Uncle Rufus likes books, ya? It's no sweat." Kahua really felt it'd all just work out somehow. Like his father said, the worst that could happen is that the man says no, and then he just goes up to Summerlin to talk to Mimi and Paz, at least knowing that he tried Rufus. "And why would I need a Pokemon to get me there, pops? I'll just surf over on a board! That's the one thing I'll need, so you won't get any calls except for when I'm feeling homesick and I'm missing a good meal made by my Alika!" He laughed in a good-naturedly way. "Ah... but I did make a check list. Ask me anything, I got it!"

Alika takes your last statement with a challenging air about her. Soon enough, she’s rapid fire demanding if you’ve taken things as simple as your PokéDex, to frankly insulting things like underwear and changes of clothes, to the obvious like the Pokémon your father handed you when you made your decision, your wallet, toothbrush, things like that. Anything she can think of, she asks whether you have. It’s only when she finally runs out of steam that she sits back with an only somewhat satisfied smirk on her face. Only once he’s very sure Alika is done does he speak up again. A mother-hening Alika is something none of the men in the house want to deal with since they are fully aware it is a battle they can’t win.

“You can surf, yes. But a swimming Pokémon covers much more ground. You can do it your way if you wish, but it may consume more time than otherwise.” Is all he says, very obviously not trying to turn Alika’s attention to him. It’s at this time a somewhat mischievous grin spreads across Alika’s face.

“Oh no, it looks like our brother still isn’t awake.” She says, voice very obviously pointing out how little she actually cares. “I can’t possibly let this food get cold. Oh well. Looks like there’s extra portions for everyone.”

Arceus in heaven, she didn't go easy on him. Kahua was left feeling like he just entered a professional boxing ring with a champion after she was done. He laid out in his chair comically, panting with real exertion while the roll of paper that was his checklist dropped down to the ground. Apparently he was missing a few things...

But nothing could revive him better than the promise of more food. Score! Kahua dived in for more fish, taking the entire portion Alani would've gotten and slapping it down on his plate. He made sure to eat a little more carefully for the sake of not costing himself this gift, but he didn't eat slowly, so that he could finish before Alani eventually DID wake up and wonder where his fish went. Kahua briefly swallowed, then turned to respond to his father. "I guess I could keep an eye out, but I'm not gonna try super hard. Surfing there would be more fun anyways!" He grinned. From there on, Kahua would simply continue eating his food and chatting with his family. Once he was done, the young man dropped his utensils on his plate, slapped his hands together, and prayed with his family as he always did.

"... And we give thanks for the delicious meal and pray for more blessings in the future. Ho'oponopono." Kahua nodded, then raised his head. "Right, I think I'd better go get my stuff together before I leave now!"

While your original plan was to take Alani’s entire portion, there’s one small hitch to it: Your father wants that fish just as much as you do. The scuffle is brief, but in the end, probably because you’re leaving, he allows you to take more than he does. Likely the only time that would ever happen given the man loves his meat just as much as you do. Once the after meal prayer is done, both Alika and Kahakilani nod at you once you mention gathering your gear before you leave. “I’d wake your brother up before you leave but… well, I get the feeling he’s about to be very annoyed with all of us.” Alika says with the same grin she had when she allowed the two of you to eat Alina’s portion. “On that same note, I’d get to Route 130 as quick as you can. He knows better than to try something with me.” Alika cracks her knuckles at that statement and even your father suppresses a shudder at the noise. “And he won’t go after Pops, but you’re fair game.” Even while you’re going, Alika just can’t help but throw a little more trouble your way just to amuse herself. “I’ll give you til noon before I wake him. That should be enough of a headstart.”

Kahua chuckled. "I'll take your advice, sister. Give him a sorry from me when he wakes up, and tell him I love him too, won't you?" He stood up from his chair and brought his plate and used utensils to the sink, where he dumped them. Kahua then turned around and walked over to his sister. "And since I gotta dine and dash quick," the surfer surprised her with a sudden, tight hug, then let her go to dash over to Kahakilani and do the same. "Love ya both more than the world!" The display of affection wasn't very out of character for him. Growing up, Kahua had always been very open with his emotions. The weird days are when he goes by without laughing or throwing a 'love you!' out to anyone.

With the quick goodbye done, Kahua ran out of the kitchen, briefly turning to wave—shit he just tripped on the floor—but he caught himself and completed the wave! Kahua continued out of the room, went up the stairs, and dashed back into his bedroom, leaving his sister and his father behind in the kitchen.

Alika returns your hug so fiercely you almost don’t think she’s going to let go for a moment. But she does, even if she seems rather reluctant to do so. Your father claps you on the shoulder afterwards. “Yeah, yeah, we love you too, dork. Now get outta here before I do something like strap you to a chair.” While you’re fairly sure she’s joking, there’s just enough menace in her voice that she could be entirely serious in her method of keeping you around. Kahakilani gives her a look that says she’s going a bit too far so she backs down quickly enough though. In revenge, she points to the sink and he gets up to do the dishes. Once you’ve gathered your stuff, you notice a Pack next to the door to carry all your stuff in. It looks rather brand new and the faint scent of seawater and jasmine suggests it was Alika was the one to grab it for you. One last gift you suppose. With your family seen to, there really isn’t anything else stopping you from getting a move on now.

Kahua looked at the new pack with a wistful smile. Of course she would, he thought. Alika was truly too kind... he was going to miss her. He wiped his eyes with his right arm briefly, then started packing up as he had to, making sure to throw on a fresh shirt and changing his shorts sometime during that. By the time he was done, everything on his checklist was checked and he was dressed up and ready for the day! Kahua took a brief glance around his room, smiling a little wistfully as a sudden realization hit him. This might be the last time he'd see this place... the last time he'd sleep here, for a long time.

What happens after he finds his mother? What would he do or say to her? If she turns out to be a terrorist... what could he do? Is he really trading away the nice life he has now, just to find a woman who didn't want him and might possibly be a criminal? Would he abandon Alika, Alani, and Kahakilani, his true family... all just for her?

He couldn't answer those tough questions. Kahua's smile faded... then he shook his head, slapping his cheeks to get himself in gear. There's no time to be thinking of hard depressing stuff! He can come back if he gets cold feet, but it's best to at least try! Kahua turned around, then dashed out of his room, downstairs, and headed to the front door. If Alika and Kahakilani are there waiting for him, he'd give them another goodbye and continue on. If not, he'd just shout it out in the house and move on.

Kahua would then stop by the PokéMart to buy one PokéBall and one Potion. Then, he'd hit the road. Route 109, to Fairsage!

Calder walks through the various isles of the poke'mart, looking at the rather sparse options to pick from. Where are the Dive Balls or Net Balls? Guess talking to the woman behind the counter is a necessity, as much as Calder wants to get out of here and hit the water. After picking up a potion, poke'ball and a antidote, Calder moves over to the metal slabs locking out access to some of the merchandise. It makes no sense to him why they would lock some of their inventory away, but oh well. It's their shop, so they can run business however they want. Calder does a quick double check with his wallet to make sure he can afford the items he wants before walking up to the counter.

"Hey there, got any interesting reads there? Also, I would like to purchase these."

Calder sets the selected items on the counter, and waits for her to ring him up and answer his initial 'icebreaker' questions before starting up again.

"You know, I figured this place would have a wider selection of poke'balls dealing with water poke'mon. They locked up behind those...door things? How can I get to purchase those?"

Calder waits for the answer before thanking the sales clerk and moving to the one place he always enjoyed: the beach. Man, he really could never get enough of it here. He really wanted to strip down to his swim trunks and run into the water while no one was around: made it easier to find some of the more bashful poke'mon. However, Calder decided to walk the beach a bit to see if anyone jumps out to him. Immediately, he notices the lifeguard. As much as he would like to go and help relieve her of her boredom, he decides against it for the moment. Later though, he will definitely ask her to show him some good diving spots. Next was the pair of surfers and the scarred up guy. The guy really looked like he has seen a lot of this place and knows how to handle himself, but the girl was hot and the pale guy looked like what people described the gym leader to look like. Well, looks like Calder was spot on in his idea he would probably find the guy here instead of the gym.

Walking towards the surfer pair, Calder looks at the variety of poke'mon breaching and flying above the water. He can even partially make out some just below the water: this place really deserved it's name. When he reaches the pair, Calder puts on his best smile and tries to join in their conversation.

"Hey there, sorry to interrupt. You're Damian right? Clearwater Gym Leader? I don't want to challenge you right now or anything, I just got into town off the ferry and wanted to know if you have any good spots to train up. Also, where can I rent a board? I would love to hit the waves with you both some time. Oh, sorry. I haven't asked your name yet hun. I'm Calder. Pleased to meet you both."

Calder first extends his hand to Damian when asking if this pale guy is really the Gym Leader, and then to the woman when he introduces himself, trying his damnedest to make a good first impression.

Waiting in line to see the Professor proved to be quite the mind numbing experience. Hannah wasn't usually an impatient person, but she felt she had wasted enough time on this story already listening to these same conversations. At least she could take solace knowing that her line was moving way faster than the pile of thirsty new trainers slobbering over the flirty one, and also that the Professor seemed at least contractually obligated to be polite unlike the angry assistant with the short line. The only bit of excitement was when the two assistants stopped what they were doing to get into a shouting match with each other, further solidifying that the Professor's line was the right choice. Hannah did look on with interest, as this was by far the most entertaining thing she had seen in days. It was clear that there was a lot of animosity between the two assistants, but it seemed like Liliana had been looking at the guy in line, rather than Jackie who had been trying to chew her out over something. Had he done something to stir the pot? It was hard to say from here, and frankly, it wasn't really THAT interesting to begin with, just more interesting than anything else at the moment.

All distractions put aside, Hannah at long last reaches the end of the line and stands before Professor Hazel. Of course, the Professor just assumes that she's just another trainer and begins her half-hearted spiel. This information is pretty relevant to Hannah as well though, so she simply waits patiently for her turn and takes the Pokeball and Pokedex as they are handed to her, but doesn't pay them much attention for now. Once the Professor is done, Hannah does her thing, maintaining her friendly smile even as she notices that Hazel is sneaking a quick peak at the cleavage she's offered. Got her! Seeing the Professor's expression change once it's mentioned what she wants to talk about, Hannah knows that she's made the right choice in her angle of attack. It was a little unfortunate that Professor Hazel had such a clear disdain for the terrorist attack that Hannah actually wanted to talk about, but the biggest obstacle of getting the Professor's interest was already cleared. She could still gather some subtle clues by talking about the Hazel's research, and even if she didn't get much, she still had an in at the lab and actually writing an article about the research could still be interesting. "Noon? That works for me! Thank you so much for your time, Professor. Can't wait to talk some more with you." Hannah tells the Professor in a genuinely excited tone, giving a friendly wave goodbye before turning to leave Hazel to her work.

Once she walks away, Hannah decides this would be as good a time as any to check out the Pokemon and Pokedex she had received. She's surrounded by trainers doing that very same thing, which is a little annoying but this isn't exactly some momentous occasion for Hannah anyway. A Pokemon is just a means to an end for her after all, not some kind of lifelong friend or whatever else these people seemed to think. Summoning her new Pokemon from it's ball, Hannah finds it isn't one she's familiar with. Not that this was surprising, she wasn't very knowledgeable about Pokemon. There were soooo many of them and some of them tended to blend together in her eyes. Thankfully, her new Pokedex can fill in the gaps in her knowledge. "Drowzee... The hypnotic Pokemon..." Hannah mutters to herself as she reads the information on her new partner displayed on the screen. Very interesting. The thing about eating people's dreams didn't seem all that useful, but being able to hypnotize someone in a pinch could come in handy. Hannah sets aside her Pokedex, looking at her Drowzee, who is looking back at her, seeming a little timid and nervous from what she could tell. She cautiously reaches out and pats her Pokemon gently on the head, the Drowzee flinches at first but eventually seems to relax into her touch, prompting Hannah to stroke his snout as well. "There we go.... I won't hurt a good boy like you..." She coos, trying to help Drowzee feel at ease with her so he would follow her orders more readily. She didn't know a ton about training Pokemon, but getting them to like you just seemed like the basics.

After a few minutes of this, Hannah eventually withdraws her hand, much to her purring Drowzee's dismay, and stands up again. "Right, well, I think we'll have plenty to do together later, but I still have some work to do first. You just stay comfy and well rested until I need you, okay?" She says, recalling her Drowzee to his Pokeball and storing it in her bag with the rest of her gear. She had a few hours to kill before her meeting with the Professor, and that was time she wanted to spend getting as much info as possible since it was still uncertain just how much Hazel would be willing to tell her. To that end, Hannah decides it would be best to talk to some of the locals and see what they could tell her about the attack on the lab. She had seen plenty of people that weren't trainers milling about before she had got in line, hopefully there were still some of them around that she could talk to.

Exia didn’t exactly expect to be given a step by step manual on how to catch every pokemon in the region and their temperament or what their favorite color was but it was more than a little annoying the pokedex knew absolutely nothing about any pokemon until she found them first. Seriously at least give her a name or something so she knows they exist. With a huff, Exia puts her pokedex in her pocket and turns her attention to her parents. It was a little quicker than she would of liked, only able to give some quick “love you”’s and “goodbye’s” along with a very short rundown of their anticipated plan which was about as certain as if her mother was ever going to get breast reduction surgery. On the bright side she had their numbers in her phone so she could always call them for whatever reason may arise… Once they were done with that they went to the professors place were they found a bunch of lines much to long for her liking. She knew it was the season most trainers started but this was ridiculous, there were hundreds of people! She wanted to go see Professor Hazel, but even her line was quite large. They could easily go do something else then come back and it’d probably still only be a little smaller. With a quick sigh, Exia looks towards her sister and motions towards the lines. “Well, those look much too long for any of our liking, perhaps we can stop by the pokemart and see what they know?”

Mina gave her parents a quick wave and followed Exia out of the house. When she saw the lines to the professor and her assistants, she rolled her eyes and decided she probably wasn’t going to bother going to speak with them regarding the Rattata, it’s not as though they’re the only people qualified to know where they are. As she was thinking this, Exia said what she was thinking out loud, that the lines are too long, however she then added that they should head to the Pokemart and ask there. She nodded at Exia “Good idea, a lot of Trainers would pass through there, so it’s definitely possible that someone would have either found one themselves before working there, or mentioned a location in passing.” she agreed. She hoped that finding the information wouldn’t take too long, as she wanted to begin actually traveling as soon as possible.

Torrekka gave her new master’s parents a polite bow as they departed for their journey. She really didn’t have all that much say in where they were going or what they were doing. The ever present threat of Exia stuffing her into a tiny ball didn’t appeal to her all that much so she was going to keep on her best behavior, at least for now. “An excellent idea!” She said in what sounded like the most praiseworthy voice she could muster. “If the clerk at the Pokemart doesn’t know anything we could try to find a more seasoned trainer and ask them, Rattata’s are rather common so it’s likely we can find them in several places.” She said simply before starting to head towards the Pokemart.
