Cee Cee was shocked the moment she stepped free from the walls. The temperature difference was always severe but you never really got used to it. The tunnel got colder as you went but when you exited and you were fully exposed to cold and roaring winds… it was brutal on the body. Before she had much time to set about a game plan or canvas the area for a good hunting spot and large beast sprang forth from the icy ground. Not one of you again… Cee Cee thought to herself as she sized up the beast. What their true name was no one really knew. There hadn’t been a taxonomist in the region for quite some time but they had earned the nickname Frost Craggs from old folk tales of the region. Cee Cee hated these beasts. No clean pelts to be had, colder than the ice itself, and a bloody pain to kill. They were ambush hunters, lying in wait for prey to stumble to close and be rended by their powerful claws.

This one had to be a bit impatient and revealed himself a bit too early for a proper ambush. Cee Cee gave herself a moment to stretch before she began spinning her chakram and running forward at the beast. Stealth was more Cee Cee’s game but in the wide-open tundra she didn’t have a chance of evading this beast, and she couldn’t merely go back inside to wait it out, it would be in her way the next time she went hunting as well. Once she was close enough Cee Cee through her arm forward and let her chakram fly towards the beast.

Cee Cee tracked her chakram through the air as she came gliding to stop on the icy ground. A clean hit to the Crags shoulder. Thick spurts of frozen blood seeping free. Cee Cee shot her hand upwards to grab her chakram, on its return relishes her success for just a moment. Her locked back to her target as it charged inward towards her. The beast was fast, faster than she had ever seen a Cragg move before. It lunged at her with its powerful claws, from which she carefully sidestepped, just as she was preparing to counter the beast attack she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen. As she looked down her feet left the ground and she found herself impaled by a spear of ice.

Try as she may she could not gain purchase on the icy weapon and try to free herself. With no other choice left she called to her wolf, hoping the feral, primal soul within her could defeat the beast. She quickly shrugged off what clothing she could and dropped her bags to the ground as her transformation began. It started at her hands and feet claws sprouting and giving her the grip she needed to pull herself up before slashing down with her chakram on the beast's arm and neck. The rest of her bodied followed sprouting thick white hair and lean gnarly muscles. She could not muster a strong howl in this state she growled with intensity as she sent her blows into her target.

Cee Cee’s two hits both landed true and she split herself free from the beast’s lance-like arm. She landed face first with a hard thud onto the frozen field. The Cragg winced back in pain letting out a terrible icy bellow that launched shards of frozen death in a wide cone. Feeling the cold sting of the creature's attacks yet again Cee Cee struggled to her feet and charged the beast loosing her chakram as she ran. Her attack was loaded with ferocity but improper with form, it glanced off her target and back into the sky. With the last of her strength, she leaped skyward and grasped ior her weapon, bringing it down with all her might upon the beast. There was a sharp shattering noise, matched with a howl from both the beast and Cee Cee then the tearing of armored flesh. Cee Cee lied there above her target for a few moments breathing heavily and slowly allowing the wolf to retreat inwards. When she had the strength to stand she gather her gear and went about stitching herself up, huddles against the beast’s belly, partially sheltered from the cold. The beast was far too gone to save and she had to focus to make sure she made it back in one piece. She had managed to take down one of the biggest beasts she had ever fought, and she had done it close to the wall, so getting it off the tundra would be a hell of a lot easier.

With her stitching done she went about gutting the beast and fashioning herself a pendant from its heart. With the most valuable part salvaged successfully she began the arduous task harvesting the meat and hide from the creature. The skin of the beast was quite soft made for fabulous pouches and belts. She had never tried the meat but someone would be willing to buy it. When she finished the field dressing she snagged a few select cuts for herself and left the rest in the most secure location she could find near the wall. Tired and quite ragged after her first target for the day she made herself a quick camp and began to rest. Eager to set out and begin hunting again.

Well, at least the storekeep seemed friendlier than the lighting would suggest, and there were all sorts of equipment scattered over the various shelves albeit not the part Adianna was after, as far as she could tell. With a dissatisfied sigh, she stepped up to the counter, head held high and putting on something close to aristocratic airs. If luck was with her, then not only would the piece be stored behind the counter, but she might be able to net a nice discount off whatever the standard price that he would have set.

"Good day, sir" she started, hands clasped behind her back. "I'm here in search of a particular part so that I can finish work on my motorised carriage and, by the looks of your store, I am hopeful that you might have it in stock." She gave a short wave of her hand to indicate the stocked shelves. "Would you happen to have a coil head stored here somewhere? I checked the shelves, but did not spot one"
One way, or another, I'm going to find you, I'll get you, I'll get you!

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

mrblah Wrote:It took a moment for his brain to restart, and he immediately looked around frantically to observe his situation, confusion and alarm evident in his body language. Where was he? What happened? How did he get here? Other such questions had been asked, but these were the most prominent in his confused mind. He had no answers. He couldn't think of any explanation as to what happened. It was as if he were in some kind of daze, his mind felt a little... foggy. Amun forced himself to calm down and consider things. He was on a walk. He saw someone jumping roofs. And... that's where his recollection was cloudy. No doubt whatever caused his odd situation must have confused him enough to mess with his short-term memory. Or long-term. It's hard to say if much time has passed since he was in his previous location.

And that was another odd piece to the puzzle. He wasn't where his last memory suggests he should be. Instead of outside on the street, he found himself sitting at a table. Inside what looked to maybe be a church. Of course, Amun wasn't exactly religious so he wasn't certain, but the decor had given him a few hints. That, and the old man sitting across from him. It was surprising that he was only just noticing this person's presence, but he figured it was due to the fact that he seemed so fitting to the environment. The old man wore the robes of a priest — specifically a HIGH priest — wearing colors that somehow both contrasted with his surroundings and made him only seem more apart of the scenery. It didn't help that he sat as still as he did, only furthering any speculation that he was your stereotypical old priest. A small part of Amun was amused by the fact that the old man's eyebrows didn't completely cover his eyes, for some reason.

The rest of him was still very suspicious of the person before him, but hadn't made any moves to proceed or attempts to break the silence. The old man seemed like he was waiting for something, but his gaze gave off a feeling that he was also looking for something... this only made Amun feel more suspicious and guarded around him. He stared back at the old man blankly.

... His curiosity was beginning to eat at him, but before he could succumb, he was surprised when a young girl had came up to their table, dragging his attention away from the oldest in the room to no doubt the youngest. He was amused by her appearance, but nonetheless perplexed. She looked like the poster child of a noble's perfect and cute daughter. So, quite contrasting with the environment around her. What was she doing there?

His confusion and mental mutterings were interrupted by a simple cup of tea. He looked down at it in suspicion, glancing back at the old man at the sudden sound of his voice, and back to the tea. He almost considered it was poisoned, but he doubted such a young and cute girl could have it in her to poison anyone. Besides, he was rather thirsty. He picked the cup up, and took a practiced and refined sip from it as if it were second nature. Which it was, as that's expected of a noble, especially a Khufu.

His attention was moved back to the old man, and he was pleasantly surprised to receive an explanation to a good few of his questions. Though, he hadn't been sold on them yet. The man could be lying, after all. He almost scoffed at the thought of attending a school in what he now figured to be in the same, poorer parts of Cielo he was in previously, but he had refrained, allowing the man to continue with his ramblings. When he got back to interesting matters, Amun managed to answer another one of the questions in his head; that being the identity of the man before him.

Sidrick. He recognized him, but he couldn't quite match face to name, since he had never seen him before. High Priest Sidrick was one of those people that Amun knew of due to their stature, and simply that much. In Amun's view, it's more accurate to say he's a High Priest named Sidrick, than Sidrick, who is a High Priest. Regardless, he admittedly relaxed a bit, now able to answer a few of his questions. "Amun Khufu," he started with a pleasant smile, "and no, I don't attend such a school. Do I really appear that young?"

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Amun Khufu

The High Priest opened his mouth to reply to Amun's words, but before he could, he was interrupted by nearby gunshots and shouting. Amun could see a figure, identical to the one he had seen before, darting across the rooftops, just like the figure he had seen before. It was firing gunshots behind it at a girl chasing it on foot, but clearly missing every shot, sometimes by a wide margin, other times just barely.

The girl turned her head for an instant, at which point the figure kicked an oil drum from a roof at her. When she looked back, she was struck by the drum and fell over. The figure jumped from roof to roof and out of sight.

When the High Priest saw the girl struck, he stood up suddenly, startled, and began to move around the table.

The girl laying on the ground before them was a dark-haired girl in mostly black clothes with stockings and a silly-looking navy-colored hat, with long black boots, and multiple belts. She was also holding a pair of steam pistols, which she was no doubt firing at the escaping figure with.

Littlemankitten Wrote:Ah, that's why she felt as if she knew what that crystal was. Anastasia has seen quite a few before, each time forgetting what they were. At first she decided she was just gonna set it down and not have it be her problem. However releasing someone from their soul prison could very well be beneficial in the long run. A debt to be paid. She held it in her hand and contemplated it for a bit, before finally clenching it in a fist. "I think I will keep this." Anastasia stated, whether or not it costs something was up to the girl, regardless it was clear she made up her mind on the matter already. Upon hearing some new information about her target she gave a sadistic smile and nodded. "Yes, I would like that."

Her eyes displayed a very slight flicker of excitement. She didn't think it would be quite this easy. In fact, it probably wasn't. This girl just seemed to be at the right place at the right time, and was rather keen on helping a stranger beat someone up. So either this girl had a bone to pick with the target, or there was something else she didn't know. Not only that she supposedly knew exactly where this person disappeared to. She would have to keep an eye on this girl, but for now, she seemed to be a valuable asset in her little quest.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Anastasia Ursa

The girl packed up her table of merchandise into a case that looked something like a coffin, then handed it over to a colossal man, clad head to toe in black armor, which had rows of spikes around the knee and shoulder pads, his face was covered by a gas mask which was built into his helmet, and on his back was a massive sword, which looked as though it could shatter a building, and seemed more for crushing enemies rather than cutting them.

The man seemed to have come out of nowhere and wordlessly accepted the coffin full of merchandise. After accepting it from the girl, the man lumbered away into an alley. The girl didn't even bother introducing the man, she just walked around to the front of her empty table and patted her frock down, before turning to Anastasia and stating "You can keep that. Think of it as a gift since... we're friends now.", stating it softly, but the words give Anastasia an eerie feeling and send a chill up her spine.

The girl leads Anastasia down the busy street, not even stopping to consider her path, seeming confident in her sense of direction, only stopping when they reach the city gate. She turns to the gatekeeper and gives him a smile, to which he pauses briefly, however his reaction can't be seen through his standard Azraq Knight helmet, and he does write down the pair's names, just like every other time anyone was leaving the safety of the walls, in case they needed to be among those handed to the nearby mortician at nightfall, so that he would be prepared to put their names on a tombstone the next day, if they haven't returned. Near the gate was a large building, beside which was a massive graveyard, filled with tombstones. The guards opened a small door at the base of the wall, which Anastasia would have to squeeze through, and the girl fit through easily. As they crawled down the tight space inside the wall, passing by the dim lighting, Anastasia had a perfect view of the girl's ass, despite her clothes being in the way. Once they reached the end, the girl spent several minutes unbolting the little door, and opened it up, bringing them into the outside world.

They stepped outside and straightened up, taking in the view. Ahead of them was miles and miles of plains and hills, spanning such a distance that standing within would be extremely disorienting. The girl didn't seem bothered and simply stated "If you'll kindly follow me, the man you're looking for is located to the north." the girl began walking along the tall grass, but stopped briefly and looked back, before asking "Oh, would you be more comfortable passing through Ferraille or Ras-Terre?" she asked, "Neither choice extends the trip's duration." she added, smiling.

Nobudi Wrote:Taking out the pistol was a bad idea. Too bad that Lucia only realized that as her right arm began to burn from the unnecessary weight of her gun as she sprinted down the roads. She fumbled for a moment to holster the gun... just as a round whizzed past her. With a rather undignified shriek, she shielded her head. Only a second had passed until her training had kicked in and she began to sprint in a serpentine pattern with no rhyme or reason to when she would redirect her movements. That was the best way to avoid being directly hit from a head on assault. Despite that, she could still feel the bullets whiz around her.

Either this thing had poor aim, the weapon was of poor make, or as ludicrous as it would sound, there still was the possibility that the thing could not or would not hurt her directly for some unknown reason or another. She immediately pushed that rather sinister sounding idea out of her head as she saw that the road lead into the Middling District as it was taught to her by her tutors. Seeing as she could barely keep the thing in view, it must either know the area, or had some sort of perception beyond anything she could have heard of. Her heart sank rapidly as she saw the Market Street coming into view. "SHOOTER! TAKE COVER!" she roared at the crowd, not stopping or slowing for a moment, before a fresh round of gunfire had the entire street in an uproar. Luckily, most of the people were immediately evacuated to the sides and below any safe cover, leaving the street empty enough for her to continue her chase. She leapt and slid past her obstacles. Parkour, the technique was called, and it was a favorite amongst those who did less than honorable things as a profession.

All the while chasing, she began to try and figure out what that thing was. Its shape was humanoid enough to immediately label it as human, but no human could perform feats like this. However, that only applied to normal humans. While her family was deeply invested into the research on the city's engines, they also has small branches working among other projects. Steam prosthetics, for one. She didn't know how well they were doing, as she was not privy to anything the family did in detail, but the knowledge could come in handy in a pinch. It couldn't be a Nephilim, as they were too well respected and famous to be doing this kind if activities. Spectross were out as well. The figure was too small even for a short spectross build. She crossed that out. Which left either Modified Human, Beast Person or... She bit her lip as she contemplated for the moment when bullets weren't flying at her. It could be a Cursed. Human shaped, abnormally agile and emitted a toxic gas.

Whether or not the idea was true, she continued in hot pursuit. But the sweat running down her forehead and rawness of her aching throat were limiting factors. This thing had to stop soon, or else she would lose it. She grit her teeth and continued charging down the road.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

LuLu Cielo

The chase took LuLu into a poor-looking part of town, where the houses looked as though they were falling apart, and off in the distance, a church was coming into view. LuLu could immediately recognize it as the one Cielo's High Priest preferred to visit. How relevant to the situation at hand the information was... is debatable.

The brief moment of recognition distracted her, and when he attention returned to the fleeing target, her gaze was met with an oil barrel flying towards her from the top of the roof it was leaping from. Given the situation, it must have kicked the barrel in her direction the moment it landed, and leapt away in the next instant.

LuLu isn't fast enough to dodge the falling barrel and gets knocked off her feet, falling to the ground, flat on her back, near the aforementioned church, and the target she was chasing leaps out of sight. Thinking fast, however, she recognizes the direction it was leaping as towards the Cielo main gate.

Surveying the surroundings, LuLu recognizes Cielo's High Priest Sidrick speaking to and drinking tea at a table with a Were-Beast just in front of the church.

The were-beast was wearing expensive-looking white and blue clothes with gold trimming, had blond hair, and light purple-colored eyes. The High Priest standing near him, which she could recognize as High Priest Sidrick, had bushy eyebrows, and a grey beard, with grey hair, standing straight up and spiky on top of his head, and he was dressed in a bright yellow and white robe, the standard robe that the priests of Nour wore, this particular one had a high collar, standard for high priests.

She said, before she walked over to her coat hanger, grabbing her overcoat. "I'll contact you again in a week or so, if I can think of anything else that will help. Feel free to stop by my office whenever." She gave the woman a polite smile, and made her way out of the office.

Now outside, she headed over to the closest bar, where she'd take a seat and order something light to drink. As time passes, she'll ask around to see if anyone's seen or heard of Ralph Kipling."

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Annie Doyle

The bartender, a tall man in a black suit and an apron, with black spiky hair and a mustache, brought Annie her drink, and after what seemed like an eternity, and many of the patrons seemingly just wanted under Annie's dress rather than having any useful information, the bartender finally got tired of watching her ask random people and piped up. He said that Ralph frequented the bar and had some pretty heavy debts to pay, so he borrowed from a wealthy merchant in Monsteropolis. The merchant in question was not a patient man, and Ralph had no way to make enough money to pay him back, so to his knowledge, he fled the village, heading north from Azraq. The Bartender, however, doesn't know where he went, just that he's heading north. He also added, after dumping all of that information on her, that several other people were also looking for Ralph, no doubt debt collectors.

After CeeCee has finished resting, looking up beyond the trees within the black forest, CeeCee could see fog rising up into the sky in a pillar, as if from a single point. Squinting reveals the very tip of some kind of structure, but only the very edges could be made out, and not nearly enough to tell any details about said structure. Whether it had already been there and she never noticed because it only just now began releasing fog into the sky, or the blizzard had always been too thick to see it was unclear.

"I happen to have exactly one of the part you have requested." he began. The price tag on the item happened to put it within Adrianna's price range, however it was still a bit pricey. If she wanted to reduce the price, using her Charisma to make the man an offer he can't refuse may be a possibility, otherwise, she can just pay for the item and go finish her vehicle.

CeeCee rubbed her eyes quickly and enjoyed another quick stretch. The strange pillar in the distance certainly caught her attention. She had planned to enter the forest to continue her hunt and the tower might prove a nice place to settle in after her hunt. It was strange that she had never seen the tower before but she wasn't particularly worried. Equipped with her new amulet and her chakram she began the treck towards the black forest, and eventually the tower.

Amun stared at the figure in suspicion, feeling a shallow sense of familiarity with them... before it clicked. That person was either identical or the very same person he saw before, who was hopping rooftops! Remembering a little of the events after seeing and following the strange figure; Amun made sure not to stare too long. He was wary of repeating the events, so he instead focused his attention away from the now quite far figure and to the woman he... it... whatever, was running from.

The first thing he noted about her, was that she too looked out of place. Or more specifically; she looked too good for this place. Amun was sure she was of the higher tiers of people, possibly a noble. Furthermore; she was a young and attractive noble, the kind who was just his type. A smirk lit up on his face, and he calmly got up from the table as well, walking his way over to the woman. "Are you alright, miss?" He made sure to call out beforehand, playing up the part of the concerned bystander. Reaching her, he'd get on a knee and present his hand to help her up.

Anastasia pursed her lips at the sight of this absolutely awesome looking knight that came out of absolutely no where. She was both amazed and confused. How the hell did this thing manage to hide so well, or was she just that unobservant? Also does it serve this girl? It sure looks like it. Meaning that the more this girl talks the more Anastasia feels like she needs to be really cautious. Clearly, this girl was dangerous. And now Anastasia was her "friend." Is that a good thing or a bad thing? She can't tell. Her eyes flared a deep red, a sign of her growing tension, but she would do nothing but walk with the girl as she traversed the city.

As they reached the gate, Anastasia frowned and looked around. She's been out one or twice, and cared little for what was outside. Not because it was dangerous but from her little time out there is was dreadfully boring. Very few people were out and about and all that was really out there was rolling plains and hills as far as the eye could see. One could see a monster of some sort coming from a mile away. However, Anastasia felt that with her new companion around, something interesting might happen indeed. Anastasia looked down at the guard as he did his writing, almost scoffing at the fact that he even had a thought that she would die out there. Most if not all of the gravestones in that graveyard were none-spectross races she assumed, and those that did die were to weak to be called a Spectross anyway she bet.

Anastasia grumbled when they finally entered the tunnel embedded into the wall. One would think they would of made it larger to fit someone like her more comfortably, surely a grievous oversight by the designer. Anastasia paid no mind to the girls position, she was not interested in such things at the moment, right now she was focused on what would happen once she was outside the walls. When they finally exited Anastasia would look around and try and get her bearings. It was amazing how much land there was around here, a good thing to, the more land the better. She would nod at the girls words and, not really knowing the two locations she spoke of, simply said "Ferraille.... Lead the way." Anastasia would keep her guard raised, but so far had no reason to truly distrust the girl as they walked.
I hurt you, I heal you, I hurt you again. That's the pattern.

"As Annie sat in the bar, she kept her legs crossed in an attempt to discourage any unwanted actions. Even though this often happens to her a lot, she still gets a little intimidated, but she's able to shrug them off for now as she tries to press on for her search. She was relieved that the bartender was willing to talk to her, and she thanked the man for his time, giving him a tip for the drinks to show her appreciation.

Afterwards, she then heads to the north end of town to see if Ralph has already skipped town, or if maybe he's just finishing preparations to. She really hopes she won't have to go outside the wall if he ran so far out of town. If so, then she'll have to hire a crew."

She was so close. Damn. It was only a moment of distraction, and she had lost the figure. She lied there for a moment, before she took a moment to take a better look at the surroundings. A Beastman, well dressed, she noted attempted to give her a hand up. She couldn't place it, but his garb and demeanor seemed familiar. The fact that apparently, he was having tea with the High Priest And something in her head clicked. "K- Khufu?" She hazarded a guess as she ignored the hand up and raised herself to stand. "Thank you, but no need." She knew about the beastman family. Very high up on the political chain Once she was up and dusting herself off, she walked up to High Priest Sidon and bowed.

"Greetings, High Priest. It has been many a year since we last met," she said before curtsying. "I do not know if you remember me, but I am Lucia Ludwig von Cielo. My father made a generous donation to the Church a time ago. It has also been a good time since we last hear a sermon, but we do keep you and the Church in our prayers." Their family wasn't quite religious, but did like the way the church was helping out the local communities, so they offered some money and aid. No big deal for the family.

"If I may ask, did you happen to see where that strange being shooting at me went off to? I must find it and interrogate it."

lilbooth Wrote:CeeCee rubbed her eyes quickly and enjoyed another quick stretch.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Chris Culgan

Entering into the forest, all light seemed to be blotted out by the trees, as they pulsated with those blue lines across their trunks. The forest was just as cold as the area she had been in before, yet they echoed with far more activity. This was completely normal, however, as most of the creatures outside the walls preferred to attack by ambush, and the trees provided solid cover from the attacks of their predators. Naturally, anything that couldn't move around under the ice and snow, or beneath the ground, would need trees for cover. Of course, this meant that walking through the forest is more disorienting.

As CeeCee moves deeper into the forest, it becomes more difficult to see the tower she was approaching, however, she can also spot several lights. Upon moving closer, she can see that those lights are campfires spread out along the deep parts of the forest. In total, she could count 6 VISIBLE campfires. Upon even closer inspection, she could see that the camp flames are red, this indicating that those using the flames are not human or were-beast, and the flames were not blue, indicating that they were not made by Spectross. This line of thinking only eliminates a few possibilities, however.

mrblah Wrote:Amun stared at the figure in suspicion, feeling a shallow sense of familiarity with them... before it clicked.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Amun Khufu

The girl looked after the creature she was chasing first, then looked at Amun for a moment and merely answered him with "K-Khufu?" a confused look on her face, as if she wasn't sure of his identity, and was merely guessing. She ignored his raised hand, simply saying "Thank you, but no need." Without introducing herself, she walked directly to the High Priest. She made a curtsy and began to speak with him as if Amun wasn't even present. She asked him where the creature she was chasing got off to, and the High Priest guessed he was heading for the main gate. The little girl from before brought the lady a cup of tea, with a smile as they spoke.

As they were speaking, Amun felt a sudden chill, followed by another 'whisper' he could not understand, then a sudden magnetic-feeling pull in the direction the creature had escaped to. As if the creature was drawing him to it with some sort of strange power. He could resist, of course, but the strange feeling would be difficult to ignore.

Littlemankitten Wrote:Anastasia pursed her lips at the sight of this absolutely awesome looking knight that came out of absolutely no where. Her eyes flared a deep red, a sign of her growing tension, but she would do nothing but walk with the girl as she traversed the city.As they reached the gate, Anastasia frowned and looked around. Most if not all of the gravestones in that graveyard were none-spectross races she assumed, and those that did die were to weak to be called a Spectross anyway she bet.Anastasia grumbled when they finally entered the tunnel embedded into the wall.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Anastasia Ursa

The girl led Anastasia forward through the plains for what seemed like many miles, leaving them far out of view of the wall. The further they got, the worse an uneasy feeling seemed to invade Anastasia's thoughts. Not from the girl, though she did make her feel uneasy, but because of something off about the area. Usually, the plains would be filled with monsters and animals, but it had started off silent, and grew more silent the deeper into the plains they moved.

The girl suddenly stopped right in front of Anastasia, causing her to bump into her, knocking her forward, off her feat. She quickly scrambled to her feat and dusted her frock off, then tried to ignore that she had just been knocked over. "Ahem", she began, clearing her throat, "I think we've found the cause of these eerily empty plains." she said. Following her gaze, Anastasia could see encampments in the distance, red campfires lighting up each one. Not all of them were in view, however, there were at least three large ones. The girl took a step back and moved behind Anastasia "Miss Anastasia, if you would kindly take point, it would be greatly appreciated." she said, her hand gripping the fabric covering Anastasia's back. The girl didn't seem scared at all, she only had a look of deep concentration on her face, as though she was absorbing information with a mind like a steel trap.

Annie reaches the edge of town, where the gate stands. Upon arriving, she finds that Ralph is, indeed, nowhere to be found. Up ahead of her, however, she hears the front gate closing after someone who had just exited. Standing near the gate, despite his face being completely obscured by a helmet, she recognized the knight as "Sir Prize". He happened to be taking another person's information, about to let her outside the gate as well.

She had white hair with one short side knock, held with a belt, and was wearing a black skirt and a black top, as well as several straps running all along her body, none of which covered much. She also had pale skin, blue eyes, black boots, and was holding a sinister-looking blue buster sword. This girl, judging by her appearance, was either a death knight or a former guard from Ferro, however, it would be EXTREMELY offensive to suggest this girl is a Death Knight.

The High Priest nodded and bowed to LuLu, then sat back down, leaning on the table as he was before. "I'm glad to see you were not seriously hurt, Miss Cielo, and it's nice to see you again." He then paused and mulled over her question, seemingly deciding whether or not to enable her to continue chasing the mysterious hostile entity. "Miss Cielo, the creature seemed to be heading towards the gate. Perhaps he intends to escape when we dock with Ferro." He said, though LuLu could it was merely speculation "I'm not actually certain where it's going or what it wants, but that's my best guess based on the direction I witnessed it to be going. Nothing else is really over there." He added.

While this conversation was going on, the little girl that was standing near the high priest left and returned with a cup of tea, handing it to LuLu, with a smile on her face.

Cee Cee was more than a bit surprised when she saw the campfires in the distance. Has to be Rovers thought Cee Cee to herself. The blood-red fires couldn't have been anyone else. And their nomadic nature made them the most likely to be out here in the wilds. Anything capable of making a fire was also capable of making conversation. And Cee Cee wasn't too keen on superstition. She stayed on her guard and progressed towards one of the outermost fires. If things went south she was prepared to fight, or run if she was terribly outnumbered.

Anastasia felt as though she barley even hit the girl when she knocked her over. Then again it was her fault for stopping so suddenly. Anastasia muttered an apology before turning her attention to the fires. Yea that explains it. Anastasia didn't know exactly what the fires entailed but she knew enough to know it was mostly bad news. Well, it could be considered good news as it would mean she wouldn't have to face the horrors that could of awaited her, but still. Anastasia looked down at the girl when she said Anastasia should take point. "All right fine, I'm surprised you'd rather have me protect you over your knight in shining armor." Referring to the man in black armor from earlier. Anastasia continued walking along the path, even more alert than before.

Annie made her way to the two, intending on speaking to Sir Prize. He usually knows who goes in and out of the city. When his conversation with the woman presents a brief lull, she takes the moment to interject with an introduction and a bow. "I'm sorry for cutting in like this, but Sir Prize, have you seen a man that goes by the name of Ralph?" She asked, then giving the knight a verbal description of the man. "I'm hoping he didn't skip town yet." She sighed. "I'm not properly equipped to combat the dangers out there."

Damn, there went her opportunity to chase it if it had made it to a hiding spot. Well, now that she knew the entity was now gone, there was no point in trying to look now. Besides, as fast as the thing was, it couldn't fly or probably land from as great a height as the city of Cielo without taking major damage, if not death. When a servant girl came up to her with a cup of tea, she smiled graciously and murmured a word of thanks at the girl as she held the warm cup in her hands. "Shall we sit and talk, High Priest?" she asked , switching gears. She had some catching up to do, and wasn't quite sure what to make of the beast boy, Khufu family or not.

Amun was a bit offended by being brushed off so easily, but considering that she recognized him by his family name; it's entirely possible her giving him the cold shoulder was due to some issue she may have with his family. Wouldn't be the first time, to be certain. Nonetheless; he didn't allow this to deter him, nor did he allow his disappointment to show in his body language. Instead, he listened in on her conversation with Sidrick, surprised that she was actually attempting to pursue whatever entity had been messing with the both of them (or rather, he was assuming it messed with her too).

He stepped closer to interject into the conversation, when he felt a cold feeling that almost brought him to shiver, closely followed by a... wait. He remembered this. The sensation of the chill, the whisper breaching into his mind, the... pull, that was used to essentially call him. This was definitely the very same experience he had before, with his first encounter with the mysterious roof jumper. It was alarming to feel (or hear, whatever) again. Last time he did; he ended up blacking out and ending up in a church. But he couldn't deny a desire to investigate. A need to know why HE was being targeted with this, when everyone else seemed unaffected. Would this continue? If he left it alone, would this figure keep showing up and calling him to it?

But at the same time, he'd have to leave behind the beautiful woman he just met and hadn't had the time to properly get acquainted with. He could see that she was giving up on her chase, at least for now. If HE went after this thing, he'd be giving up the chance to talk to her, and possibly get to "know" her. It was a hard decision to make, to be certain...

Amun took a lapse in Sidrick's conversation with the woman to interject as he planned to. "I apologize, High Priest Sidrick," he began with a polite bow, "but I believe I must now depart. It seems I'm needed elsewhere, at the moment." That said, he turned to Sidrick's new guest. "As to you, my lady. It's a shame we hadn't had the chance to speak with one another." After another bow to her, Amun swiftly turned (after making sure he gave her one of his patented charming smiles) and proceeded in the direction of the call, though at a relaxed pace. If this creature truly meant to call him every way around it wants, then it can wait for him to come.

As CeeCee approached the campfires, cloaked figures came into view, four in total at the specific campfire she had approached. They were discussing something in quiet whispers, but ceased as one noticed her approach. Upon closer inspection, now that she was standing just next to the fire, though their faces were obscured by the hoods of their black cloaks, two had tented hoods, where their horns were no doubt protruding from their heads, and three of them, sticking out of their sleeves, had deathly pale hands, with markings on them, confirming CeeCee's suspicion that his was, indeed, a Rover camp. After the four stared at CeeCee uncomfortably for several moments, one of them, who's hands had been hidden by their long sleeves, spoke up in a soft, yet harsh, feminine voice, and with an accent not native to Calt; "Salutations, stranger, hath thou become lost?" she asked, a strangely friendly question, with odd phrasing, but still harshly spoken.

The two of them drew closer to the camp, some tents were coming into view, as well as figures standing around the nearest fire, while still more were seemingly patrolling the area, weapons in hand, walking very slowly, and moving close to the path the two of them were following, they didn't seem to intend to let anyone pass, which was strange in and of itself, since people didn't typically travel this way, instead opting to board Cielo. As close as they were, it could be observed that the figures in question were large, hulking creatures, 10-12 feet tall, wearing crude armor, and holding crude weapons, none of which seemed to be ranged. The tents were patched brown fabric, with masks and bones hanging on the outside, pikes littered the area, with skulls of various creatures on the ends, in the center of the circle of campfires was a large wooden pole, at the top was a sign that read "DICKFUCK THE DONGSMASHER'S CAMP". There was no mistaking it, these creatures were Orcs, and luckily, they had not spotted Ana and her companion yet, however, behind her, she could hear the girl's breathing growing ragged.

When Sir Prize had finished speaking, Annie heard a loud crash right beside her and felt the ground shake. Looking to the side, she could see the girl from before had her sword planted into the ground and was looking at Annie with a smug look on her face "Good grief, it's quite rude to interrupt someone's conversation like that. You ought to learn some manners." she said with a Fero accent, lifting her sword back up out of the rubble that had once been the stone walkway. Sir Prize wasn't startled at all by this girl's behavior, and didn't miss a beat "Oh, Annie, this is Amalie, she was just on her way out of the city as well." he said, adding "You could possibly benefit from journeying with her if you intend to leave the city, and are both going the same way, she's quite the strong and skilled fighter.", Amalie then responded with "Thank you, Sire Prize, you are much too kind." as she grabbed Annie's shoulder and squeezed it much too hard, there would no doubt be a bruise there later, before adding "Do not worry, little one, there is no beast out there that can best me in battle.", a smirk on her face as she spoke.

The Priest nodded in understanding "I'm sure you're a busy man" he began "Do be careful around these parts, especially with that thing bounding around, there's no telling what it was in this day and age, so many dangerous things roaming the streets. That reminds me, did you know Cielo is about to dock with Fero? It's probably a good chance to meet a lot of interesting people, and spread the word of the Goddess. Be careful now." he said, standing and bowing briefly.

Upon being bid farewell by the priest, Amun had chosen to follow where the pull was taking him. This led him down the alleyways and towards the gate at the very edge of the city. Upon reaching the city's gate, which was a large structure, made from many protruding gears on either side of two large slabs of green and gold metal, he started feeling a pull in many different directions around him, and that familiar chill down his spine. Looking around for the source of this feeling, there seemed to be nothing at first, but perched on several rooftops were five or six of the black-cloaked, masked entities hiding behind paneling and chimneys, just barely visible. The worst part was that they were all staring directly at Amun. Behind Amun, at a counter, the green and gold-armored knight didn't seem to notice Amun or the mostly-hidden figures in the distance, he was writing on a notepad in front of him.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Saphira Perinther

Saphira was standing at the gates of Fero, tall black structures lined with spikes, and had just finished speaking with a black-armored guard, proving she had permission to temporarily travel outside the city, and letting the guard write down her information in case she never came back.

When the guard had finished, he made a motion to three other guards on the other side of the gates, to which they responded by opening the large gate, revealing a smaller one on the other side, which opened, revealing an even smaller gate. After several minutes of ten different gates opening, finally Saphira was allowed to crawl through the tiny space, to the outside world.

Upon exiting the city, Saphira found herself surrounded by the redwood forest, as usual. Her information stated that she needed to head out into the Blackwood forest to the east of her current location, which was luckily away from the dreaded ocean. UNluckily, the Blackwood forests were a common location to find Death Knights, so Saphira would need to be very careful.

"Certainly not lost, intrigued for sure though." Said Cee Cee as she shifted her weight. "I hunt in these woods and plains quite often. As far as I knew I was the only one that ventured outside the city. You lot are nomads though, right? What has driven you to such a cold unwelcoming place?" She asked calmly. It seemed that she didn't have much to fear from the rovers at the moment. They were kind enough to speak with her, even ask if she had lost her way. "I hunted earlier this morning and starting traveling towards a tower that I saw in the distance. I've never seen a manmade structure about the wood, seemed ripe to investigate? Do you know anything about what I speak?"

Saphira happily stretched her arms out when she was outside the gates. What a lovely day! People really didn’t understand how beautiful it was outside the city, fearfully holing themselves up inside the walls. Blackwood forest sounded more ominous than it was, but she needed to be careful about the Dead Knights. Threading lightly and keeping an eye out for anything unusual should make sure Saphira could see and avoid them before she was attacked. Another day, another adventure!

Amun made sure to do just as Sidrick did, giving a polite bow before he left. Had to maintain good relations and be polite, after all. He then followed the strange feeling, taking a rather suspicious route that he could tell from experience, led to the city's gate. He's wandered over there every now and then in his strolls, and found it odd that he was being led there again. Why would this mysterious figure travel there? Was it planning on escaping? Why would it call to him then, if that is what it wished for? His curiosity continued to build as he got closer and closer to it, yet he was still prepared in case he didn't like the answers. Amun's previously mentioned strolls taught him quite a lot about the city of Cielo, and if need be, he could bolt to a more populated area, where the figure would be less likely to attack or follow him. It would have the advantage if it hopped across the rooftops, but he was quite quick and agile himself. He was certain he could escape from just one creepy masked person jumping across rooftops.

But maybe not five. Amun stopped in his tracks, feeling the pull in multiple directions and the chilling and uncomfortable feeling. He looked around quickly, and his confidence began to wane, as his worrying grew. Five. No, six, he counted. Six of those odd masked figures, surrounding him, staring... at him. He had a bad feeling that maybe, juuuust maybe, his curiosity and overconfidence landed him in some trouble. Thankfully, there was a knight nearby. He eyed him, hoping the knight could see him and maybe the figures surrounding him...

And the fool was writing on a notepad. A notepad. Amun glared at the incompetent fool. Of all the things to be doing INSTEAD of his job, he was writing in a NOTEPAD. He'd understand if the man were with a beautiful woman or even on a lunch break or something, but no, he was writing in a notepad. When he was needed most to do his job and protect a very important citizen... the weredog ignored this information and his annoyance, instead remembering his possibly dangerous situation. He needed to get the knight to help him, but he had a sinking suspicion that these figures wouldn't let that happen. So... he had to play it cool, maybe bait them to attack and make some sort of slip up, then slide through their vigilant watch to get to the knight and get his cooperation. It was the best plan he could figure in his situation, and it was the one he'd have to stick with.

So with that in mind, Amun choose to wait it out, ready to bolt at the slightest sign of an attack to the knight, with his hand close to the hidden weapon he was taught to always have on him.

Orcs, it just had to be orcs. Of all the races in the world, they are probably one of the worst. Anastasia exhaled heavily as they walked towards it. She thought about all the stories she heard of them, all the terrible things they have done, the atrocious acts they have committed. It pisses her off. Her eyes became redder and brighter as she surveyed the camp. She couldn't really tell how many there were, but probably more than she could handle unfortunately. Her eyes then laid on the sign that displayed the leader of the camp. Dickfuck the Dongsmasher. What a fucking name. Anastasia clenched her hands into fists and tried to stay at least somewhat calm.

"Did you know these guys were here?" Anastasia asked her companion. Her tone laced with poorly subdued rage. She would probably have known, of course its possible they set up shop real recently but either way. The very idea of talking to a Orc made her want to punch something. Still, she kept walking though, wary of what these cretins might do.
I hurt you, I heal you, I hurt you again. That's the pattern.

She nods, listening to what Sir Prize had to say. “Thank you, Sir… Prize!” she froze up on the spot for a moment, as she felt the ground shake, she looked towards the woman standing behind her as she lectured her about joining a conversation. “I’m s-sorry.” She shrunk back a bit, frightened by the woman's display of brute force. “I didn’t mean to cut in like that, but I was in a bit of a hurry.” She looked to Sir Prize who informed her that Amalie is also heading out of the city. She nodded in response, As Amalie grabbed her shoulder, a feeling pain surging through her as Amalie Squeezed it roughly “Well... hopefully I don’t slow you down...” She blushed a bit, clueless as to why she felt a bit warm down below, despite, or possibly because, of the situation.
