Having moved out of the more populated areas, and coercing your steed into a steady canter, you are soon making very good time toward your destination. A short way along the road you pass by another adventurer from the guild but, as they decide to keep to themselves, the most your ears pick up is the sound of the wind whipping past you. It was probable that they were on the way to the same job as yourself, but if you got there first, you would not need to share the reward and glory! So it was that, after a good fifteen minutes of moving at different speeds, and waiting for your steed to rest every now and then, that you entered into the local village. No sign hung over the gate to advise of the settlement's name, but that was hardly uncommon for the smaller places of the world.

The farm itself was quite small, counting barely a half-dozen homes clustered around a manor house. Fields of wheat spread out in all directions and, while it seemed well-grown, the peasants were not out harvesting. Instead, outside of the manor house was what you took to be the village headman, with a small grouping of other humans around. While not close enough to gather the whole story, raised voices from the crowd alluded to one or more members of the community being given away for an unspecified reason.

In between a full-on gallop and a pause Jade made her way to the farming village mentioned in the task, passing by other adventurers possibly headed towards her same destination yet not bothering to interact... though rather for the increased reward, it was for the haste she felt. She needed to solve the problem as fast as possible and then move on, towards more distressed people in need of help... was the official reason. Maybe having a bit more personal money to spend as she pleased also had something to do with her rush, but the righteous reason was always the right one, after all.

When she finally reached the village she found what she expected, namely not too many house gathered around a bigger one most likely belonging to either the local leader or the group managing the place, though having the peasants also gathered around the manor instead of the fields sure wasn't in her expectation. Was the goblin trouble more serious than she thought? Curious about it she'd lead the steed to proceed forward, intent on getting close enough to understand what the commotion was all about or even eventually ask about what was going on, introducing herself with her adventurer persona if needed.

Seeing the woman in gold race off all the while she just took her day in stride. It was great to finally be away from the cities she has always known at just move into the country one foot after the other. It took a while, but being in her armor it was good to take her time given everything and the contract at hand. Victoria saw that the golden woman again confirming that she's hear to act upon the contract. This was her chance to make some progress though, the time she's spent studying the various monster races she set out to find the goblin hideout, hoping to find some of the things they've pillaged to use as a trail to locate their lair.

s as the girl falls asleep to her spell, a quick glance around shows her that no one noticed and she's quick to slide over towards the unconscious girl, wrapping her arms and wings around her and cradling the girl to her body as she uses her magic to enter the girl's dreams to try and manipulate and corrupt her innocent mind, undulated by the seasons and time and eager to see what life held and Amy was going to enjoy twisting her outlook to something similar to her own.

She smiled at the little demon. "I always thought imps were cute." she says, before giving him the name, not the true name of course but the name of her master and his last known location, she explains that he may have moved and that the imp is responsible for finding him. She blows the imp a kiss and smears the bloody circle before standing back to her full height and taking out an umbrella, a parasol in fact. With one final wink she turns and leaves the house. Heading out onto the streets once more.

(aw crap, I forgot about this thing...noticed first post but couldn't reply straight away, and then was busy and forgot it even existed)

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Gorbaz Wrote:(Nyx)
The world has changed. Or, rather, you have changed and see the world differently. Although strange and difficult to process, the barriers of the physical world yield to your presence as if they were not there at all. It is a simple matter to move down the pitch-black stone corridors of the dungeon, everything seeming well-lit to your eyes even when the wall sconces have long since had their contents burn out, and the iron begin to corrode. You can recall the way in, and it should be a simple matter to retrace the steps that your captors once took and emerge from the dungeon, but who knows what else is here? Could some evil still lurk within the crumbling walls? It is difficult to understand why, but you can *see* the fain trails of magical energy in the air and, if they are flowing anywhere in your prison, then it would be toward something of power.

Nyx realizes she took the news of her death and... how to call it, revival? Awakening? Ressurection? Neither seems really fitting... much better that she should. It's strange, by all rights, she should be in shock, but all she feel is...not calm, more like nothing. Her mind races through possibilities. What happened? Why it happened? She's heard about ghosts, wraiths and similar forms of undead before, but she would never thought she'll join their ranks. And it's strange, it's obviously been years, maybe decades since her death, if she was about to become a ghost, it should've propably happen sooner, shouldn't it? Maybe the magic she's feeling has something to do with it. And why is this place empty? If the bones in the cell are really hers... and Nyx is sure they are... why was she left there? Perhaps her captors were moving and she was killed because it was easier to do that and leave her corpse there to rot instead of taking her with them? Maybe they were attacked before they could dispose of her body? Or they left her there to give some extra "atmosphere" to future prisoners?

Nyx stops just beyond the door of her cell. How does her new existence work, anyway? She's heard tales about ghosts, but never encountered one herself, and her specialty was illusions, not necromancy. Illusions... she knows there are semi-autonomous illusions that can "think" and act on their own, to an extent. What if she's just some kind of illusion with her original's memories? How would you tell? She's never thought about how they think, what can they feel... She can touch herself and feel her body as normal, and the floor beneath her feet feels solid enough, but she could move through other objects. Walking through the bars was like moving through water, she could sense it, but there was physically nothing to stop her. She feels chill, but is it just her being naked in a cold dungeon, or do the dead feel like this all the time? The cold feels somehow more pervasive than just the natural enviroment. And she shouldn't be able to see without torches, and the magic she senses... that's new too. Just more things to examine and learn about.

Perhaps there's some way to test her ability to interact with her surroundings. It should be impossible for an illusion to use magic of its own. That sounds like a good way to check what she really is. If she can cast at least basic magic, it would be clear she's a ghost, not some complex illusionary copy of herself. Creating light should be enough. Nyx tries to cast Faerie Lights, just for a moment, to see if she can, and then dismiss them to avoid drawing unwanted attention, if there's someone else in there. Although, would it matter? She can pass through solid objects, and it's not like she can be killed again, can she? After this test, she tries to touch the bars of the door. She knows she can move through, but can she somehow concentrate on being "solid enough" to actually touch and manipulate them? In tales, ghost could move or throw items... is that what they do, some kind of magic power, or just tales? They can hurt people, but so can her illusions, it may be the same principle.

Regardless of result, she stops trying after a while. She can't spend an eternity in here. Finding the source of the magic she senses may be important, but another thought came to her mind. She wasn't the only prisoner here, perhaps there are more ghosts in other cells. If there are, they may be able to help each other, or at least keep each other company. If not, at least she'll know. Nyx will search other cells first before moving further to investigate the magic.

==Apologies for only getting half done, I will edit in the others tomorrow after work.==

=Farmland (Goblin contract)=

(Victoria)

Moving off the beaten path, you head out through the grasslands while your contractual rival is tied up in the village. The area around the village is a combination of crops and short grasses, making vision clear and, as such, your going is good. It does not take long to leave the village behind as you stalk through the wilderness and, very quickly, you come across signs of habitation around a thinly wooded grove to the north. Moving up toward the scene, you are unable to tell if it is Goblins just from what is around - a mix of rusting iron arms and armour, human clothes, and dung. It is not until a pair of diminutive greenskins appear at the edge of the grove that you have your answer!

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Goblin perception check - 9. Fail!

The two Goblins ahead fail to notice you as you creep closer to them, and it does strike you as odd that they are not visibly armed, but a job is a job, and even if these are not the Goblins, they are +some+ Goblins, and in the local area, making it a viable contract.

(Jade)

Moving forward, the villagers catch sight of you and quickly summon you over, those who had been raising the ruckus earlier standing to one side. The headman spreads his arms wide and welcoms you warmly. "Good to see you, young lady! I trust you are here from the guild? Oh, what am I saying, of course you are! The only other people that come out this way would be traders, and you don't have a baggage train, so you must be a hero!" The man leads you slowly forward, with the others in tow. "So, you know of the contract on the Goblins, yes? We cannot offer much in the way of a reward, but the Guild is covering the monetary side of things..."

One of the villagers gives a short cough, and the headman shakes his head.

"Yes, yes. Distractions. The issue, you see, is that a group of Goblins has kidnapped a number of our young women. I cannot imagine what they would want them for, but they must be saved from whatever fate has been placed upon them. There is a cave, not far from here, in which we know they lair. If you could get our young back, we would be most appreciative. Unless you'd like to rest first? We don't have much, but can offer the stables to sleep in - it in enclosed, and we only have one horse.."

It seems like they might be hiding something with the way he talks, but it might prove difficult get it out of them. Or they might just cancel your contract if you pry too deeply

=Garrison Contract=

(Henrietta)
The lordling gave a curt nod as you settle infront of her, the Halfling grinning to himself as his eyes dart from one woman to another. Both lurched as the carriage set off, the young woman straigtening herself up swiftly after. "I am normally not adverse to travelling with the smallfolk" she stated, matter-of-factly, before glaring over at the Halfling. "Although this particular one does try my patience".

The Halfling continued to grin, blatantly watching the young woman's chest whenever their transport lurched or bounced. "Not my fault the only transport was carrying such a delectable creature" he said, his eyes moving quickly to you. "And now there's a Valkyrie in here too. Someone up there likes me!"

The lordling snorted derisivly and brushed some of her brown shoulder-length curls back.

"It is a long trip, ladies" the Halfling continued. "A shame to pass up all these bumps for having some fun, eh?"

=Village of Corbry, Arken province=

(Amy)

Using your magic, you quickly slip into the young girl's mind, and find yourself in a dreamlike representation of the farm. Pastures spread out in all directions, and animals of various sizes and shapes graze around. The young, blonde girl works the land before you, unaware of your presence. That is, until you push your presence in closer to her mental image. Almost immediately you can see sweat start to bead of her skin...

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Seduction damage - 10 x 2 = 20! Farmgirl's total corruption = 20.

The young girl's fingers grip her tool slightly tighter as she starts to look around, unsure as to exactly what she is supposed to be looking for. Her farmclothes begin to cling tightly to her form, showing off her curves and pushing out from her now-prominent chest. Her eyes linger on a couple of the larger male animals for a second before restarting her search. "H-hello?" she calls out, taking a few steps with her now bare feet, the soft farm mud sticking to the flesh of her feet and legs.

You know there is only so much you can do without revealing yourself to corrupt the young girl's mind, but if you do form around her, you could directly interact with her spirit form, push her to do things, and perhaps even get her to bind herself to you.

(Cresca)

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Charisma check - Rolled a 1. Success!

As soon as the coins crossed the table, the innkeeper's eyes snapped onto them and, it seemed that the rest of her words were lost on his ears - it seemed that she has just gotten very lucky! "Well, I might have heard something..." he said, glancing at the other people in the inn before stepping away from the bar. His voice lower and he leans forward, his hand reaching forward to cover the coins. He smelled like he liked - dirty. Most Humans did, but now that he was closer, this fellow seemed quite... pungent.

"The crops round here aren't doing well" he whispered, glancing back and forth. "People are saying that black wizards are draining the mana of the land, so they can do their evil deeds!" A wry smile crossed his lips. "But then, others say it is a coven of witches tapping into the mana in order to fuel midnight orgies. Either way, something is pulling the magic out of the land and, as anyone worth their salt knows, the biggest source of mana around here is north, beyond the Old Men"

=Church of Valestrn=

(Nuria)

Delving into the information in the journal, the words on each page describe the journey of an adventurer who'se name is not recorded. That makes sense as it was their journal, and they would not have recorded their own name in it. The early pages speak of the young man going on simple jobs for the Venture Guild, where he met a pair of women - a mage called Valerica, and a thief whom he seems to refer to as 'candy'. It goes on at length about how he would go on adventures and, each night, try to get closer to one of the two women, until he accepted a mission given out to all adventurers to find the source of a major mana drain. From what you read, it did not go too well.

The journey taken is unfortunately vague, but it goes into great detail about how excited he was that the three of them found the lair of one being called "Demon Lord". The three entered ahead of the rest of the forces that were on the same trail, aiming for both loot and glory (and also sexual favours from the girls once victorious), but it goes on to say that the three were captured after facing down a minotaur. He writes that he was placed in a cell without his arms and armour, and separate from the women, so he had time to do little other than write. At some point another young woman, this one with white hair, was dragged past, but the next he saw of his two companions were as they stood at the side of a tall man, draped in a floor-length black cloak, and with piercing red eyes. Both his companions fawned over him and wore very little, Candy in particular seemed to have 'matured' physically and bore strange tattoos across her skin. The final entry states that they revealed that they had given their true names to the Lord, and would soon bring all to kneel before their new master.

Given that the world is not fallen to darkness, it was a fair assumption that the Demon Lord did not succeed.

"So" says Raymond as you pull away from the book. "Did it enlighten you?"

=City of Arken=
(Myst)

With the imp launching himself out on your mission with almost extreme vigour, you are soon left alone, and decide to head out with your personal shade.

Moving out onto the street, you wince at the strong sunlight beaming down onto you and, while it is uncomfortable, you know from experience that you can survive under its glare. Still, you are outside now and the familiar bustle of the streets greets you. While the road that you are on is one of the more sparse ones, there are still plenty of people moving around, in and out of their own abodes, and going to and from the markets and workplaces. There should be plenty here for you to feed on, or perhaps just have some good old fashioned fun with, but if you moved further in then you might be able to snag someone of actual breeding. Of course, there is always outside of the city where the farmers work, but they can just be so easy to use that it just isn't as much fun.

Your contracted Imp should be able to find you wherever you choose to go, so there is even the option of trying to pass yourself off as an adventurer - the world is your oyster.

=The Five Old Men=
(Nyx)

The words of the incantation come easily to you, perhaps easier than before, and small globes of light spring into being before you, spreading their white light across all the surfaces. The extra light does allow you to make out details in the stonework - mostly mold growing in the cracks, several marks of battle across the walls, and more cells covered in darkness further away. Dismissing the light leaves everything darker, but you are still able to 'see' well enough. Next up was testing the manipulation of the physical. Concentrating, you reach out and... your hand passes through the bars of your cell. It seemed a little harder to pass through this time, but you still had no issue passing through.

Moving off down the corridor, you glace in each cell as you go. The first is empty and seems not to have been used. The next has signs of use in it, but there is no body around and you cannot sense the existence of another. The third cell, however, has a broken door and beyond it, the bones of another prisoner! You concentrate, but are unable to find any traces of a ghost or spectre here, but with your skill in magic and, now that you know you can access some of your previous spells, you might just be able to pull the soul of the departed back to the dusty bones on the floor and perhaps find out more. Of course, that magical pulse further in feels... enticing. If there were any more spectral undead, then that is where they would probably be - the mindless ones, anyway...

Though she had felt rather disgusted when she got a more detailed whiff of the man, the fact remained that he had helped her and saved her from her master's wrath. She gave the bartender a grateful nod, "Th-thank you." And with that said, she quickly turned around to leave, both wanting to work on her newest clue as quickly as possible, and also wanting to get as far as she could from the foul smelling man. She briefly contemplated what the man had meant by anything he had said, as she didn't understand the relation between magic and orgies as well as what salt has to do with worth, but she had a direction and that was all that she needed. North, beyond the Old Men.

... What were the Old Men again? Cresca wracked her brain for the information, quickly realizing she had no idea what he had meant by that. By this time, she was already in the middle of a street. What a dilemma she found herself with. She looked around, thinking to ask a villager, but the thoughts of all that could go wrong with meeting a new person stayed her hand — or rather, her legs. And with that, she quickly turned around, moved up the street she had moved down, walked in the same bar she had met the bartender, and quickly asked the moment she got to the bar. "What is the Old Men?"

Sae just nods in response to his overly passionate approach, confirming the reason of her presence being because of the guild and that she was a supposed hero all at once, subsequently following him forward while silently listen to him speak on and on, going to the point only when one of the villagers reminded him... and that seemed really strange for her.
How come, for a grieving village haunted by goblins and their kidnappings, this man was so hyper-active? Not even asking and pleading for her to hurry up and save the women, instead avoiding the point and talking on and on, talking about rewards and what nots as well as wondering if she'd like to rest first? Moreover the quarrel when she came... it felt strange for it to end as soon as she arrived.

She might be a righteous person willing to sacrifice for the wellness of the people of the world, but that didn't mean she was stupid or she would have never reached nor kept the position of Holy Daughter in her sect, and immediately running off to fight goblins where there may be intrigue behind... wasn't something she was willing to do. Goblins would be exterminated nonetheless and the girls will be saved too, if they indeed were kidnapped, but that only after she made sure of what she was stepping into.

That was why she choose to rest here for a bit instead of rushing into the job, nodding her aloof head in appreciation to the man <I'd love to go save those poor maidens right now, yet running there without even knowing the area would be foolish. As such, i'll accept your offer to rest here before dealing with those pests> and, after making sure he had heard her, she'd continue <May i ask where are those stables you speak of?>

Henrietta smiled as the lordling glared at the Halfling. "My aren't you the silver tongued devil" She said as the promiscuous hero moved over to sit besides the Halfling. "I wouldn't mind having a bit of fun on the way" Henrietta said as she leaned in to whisper into his ear. "...If you can cover my fair I'll give you a ride you'll never forget." She added with a seductive tone.

Reading the journal, Nuria felt as if he knew exactly what the journal talked about, as if he knew exactly what this demon lord was, and what it was before. Yet he didn't know, but something in the back of his head told him he did know. It was a disconcerting feeling to say the least. One thing he was sure he knew however, was that this demon lord spelled trouble for everyone and everything.

Nuria pondered for a moment at the priests questions, and eventually nodded. "Yes I believe so. If this disruption in the flow of magic is caused by this so called 'demon lord'... Then that means something dire will happen.... mostly for the civilized lands." Nuria stated the obvious. Pondering the problem some more. "Why does the demon lord wish to bring darkness to the world? To enslave the civilized races? To bring destruction to those that brought it pain? To try and become the leader of the world? Or simply because it can?" Nuria could ask these kinds of questions forever.

Amy grins, entering the girl's dream as she floats about, watching her form the sidelines before she materializes herself completely into the dream, she was going to appear as a vision of a goddess to corrupt the girl, the goddess' servant and messenger perhaps. Her body now having a projected image in the girl's mind she moves towards her, her wings flapping softly as she advances on the girl, her voice rising into a hauntingly soft voice that sings, beckoning her towards her through the field, her boots keeping her own feet clean of the ground's mud and dirt.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

I was assuming Nyx only knew Illusions while alive, Necromancy is something she got as a bonus from being undead. I'll change it if you want spells to be "learned only"

Well, that's something. The bar feeling a little more solid may be a good sign. Perhaps she'll learn how to touch and manipulate things in time. After all, if ghosts and poltergeists in tales can throw stuff around and open and close doors, why couldn't she with some training? And being able to cast spells disproves the theory she's just some kind of thinking illusion.

The other cells being empty doesn't come up as much of a surprise, but Nyx is still disappointed a bit. It would be nice to have company, and it would allow her to ignore another question ("Why me?"). The feeling that she could do *something* with the skeleton is interesting, but not as interesting as the lure of the magical force elsewhere in the dungeon. While she can resist the call, she wasn't known for her willpower even while she was still alive. And she can always return later, right? She continue further in, following the magical current, but stays cautious: she may be already dead, and propably impervious to mundane dangers, but who knows what magical threats may lurk here in the darkness?

=Farmland (Goblin contract)=

(Jade)

The village head gives an enthusiastic nod and clasps his hands together. "Yes, yes of course. It always pays to be fresh before going into battle!" he aid with a broad smile - the couple of others still with him nodding in agreement with the man. Leading you back through the village, those few homes with someone still inside them soon have faces peering out of the windows and watching you move with grace and poise through their land and towards a well-kept stable towards the western edge. "Here we are" the man stated as you approached. "It is humble, but it will keep the cold out and, if need be, shelter from the rain". Shuffling on ahead a few steps, he opened the side door and let you enter.

The stable itself was a two-level building inside, with six stalls on the ground floor, and a ladder leading up to a balcony than ran round all four walls. It appeared to be used for hey storage, with a few bundles of harvested grain stalks as well, presumably pending either processing or selling on. While everything was kept clean, there was the noticeable smell of animal habitation and, with a snort, a large and powerful black stallion poked his head out over the stall gate to fix you with his gaze. If he considered the whole stable his, or if he was just curious about who was entering, it was impossible to tell.

With the door closed behind you, time was now yours to do with as you wish. After requesting time to rest, the citizens might find it odd if you left right away unless you can come up with a believable story, so if you wish to investigate the village it may need to wait until nightfall. The outer doors do face away from the village, so it would not be difficult to slip out and start the hunt now, or there is always the option to settle down on the balcony, a stall, or meet your new room-mate...

=Garrison Contract=

(Henrietta)

Moving aside to allow you to sit next to the Halfling, the young lordling woman rolled her eyes at your words and turned her attention to the shuttered windows, doing her best to ignore what you were planning to do. Due to a combination of your whispers and his own randiness, the Halfling gave a huge grin and nodded with enthusiasm. "Lady, you have yourself a deal" he said as one of his hands moved over your thigh, his other hand fiddling with the bindings of his britches. It seemed like just the notion of getting to fuck your fit form had clouded any sense of decency that might have lingered in his mind and, before long at all, his fat dick was exposed to the air.

Stories of Halfling size that circulate among the more adventurous seem not to have been exaggerated, even if it is somewhat odd to find a cock of such relatively large size on such a small person!

With his tool free and ready for the promised ride, the Halfling's hands already groped at your legs and hips, his eyes locked on your chest, and thoughts of watching them bounce before his eyes plainly going through his mind.

Disguising as a known Human goddess (Intellect) roll: 8. Fail! Backup check for just appearing holy and magnificent and stuff (Faith): 4. Success!

The young girl blinks as your form materialises before her, the haunting song reaching her ears and drawing her toward you. She takes a few faltering steps, not recognising your magnificent form as that of any deity that she knows, but just the effort of radiating a false holy aura seems to push her fears to one side and, slowly at first but soon getting into a stride, she trudges through the field toward your hovering form, trying to shade her eyes from your brilliance. Her mind was ensnared, but it was a close thing.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Corruption roll: 3. x2 = 6. Current corruption 26.

She was starting to show signs of spiritual corruption, her flesh seeming less clean and pure than before, clothes sticking to her form, and her eyes seeming less bright. It was probable that, if you used your power to subtly change her environment, then she would not notice, and become far more susceptible to corruption. The direct approach would work faster, but was still risky at her current level. Still, many other ideas started to run through your mind and, with your hold on her, it would be tough for her to break free.

(Cresca)

The moment you stepped back into the bar, everyone once again gave you strange looks, this time with far more curiosity than before as not only was it strange for a young Elf to enter their village, but to walk into their bar, leave, then come back again within a matter of minutes? That was just bizarre. Still the barkeep gave a laugh at your question, followed by chuckles from everyone else in the room! "What are the Old Men?" he said between bursts of laugher. "Why, they are only just the five mountain peaks to the north! Where have you been living, girl?". It seemed that everyone had gotten a slightly lower opinion of your intellect but, at least you had the information you needed and, without the need to stir up more within the building, it was wise to step outside.

Just as you left, however, a young man from inside followed you out. He didn't appear to be a local farmer, but perhaps some kind of guard or town watch? One thing you could be sure of was that he was a large fellow, and quite will built. "You know, miss" he said in a deep voice "It would be a shame if you got lost out there. I could... guide you... keep you out of the hands of the less reputable..." Something told you his intentions were less than noble.

Raymond clasped his hands together and bowed his head. "Why do evil men do anything?" her asked in response to your own questions. "I cannot know the mind of the man, only the history of his actions. Those actions speak of one who craved power with how fast he seemed to move out and try to control the world. If it was as simple as megalomania, or simply a step in a greater plan, I cannot say". Stepping forward, he took the journal and passed his gaze over the pages as he closed it, returning it to the shelving from whence it had come. "If you wish to expand your knowledge on this subject, then the only advice I can offer is to travel to where he made his home in the mountains to the north-west. I do not know if any still live who experienced that time personally as our lives do not span that length of years, but it is said that some of the non-Humans out there can live for many hundreds of years and may know more"

Leading you back out of the basement and up into the chapel proper, Raymond pointed out some places that may be of importance - the Old Men mountains where the Demon Lord's lair once was, the northern forests where it was said that Elves dwell, the western Border Fort which fell to the Demon Lord and may hold something still, and the Guild of Venture in Tonner that may have a non-Human old enough on its books.

The silence in the halls would almost be deafening if there was not the continual thrum of something within them, drawing the trickles of mana toward it. Given your new nature, it was not hard to move down the passages and through broken doors until you could almost feel your own form being tugged towards it. It was a small feeling, but strong enough that it felt like moving forward was easier than moving back. So, pushing on you enter a large chamber with a sealed door at the other end - strange since all the other doors had been smashed and broken. This one seemed to exist both in the real world and as a magical construct, and three alcoves above it seemed to suggest that gems or power stones once sat above it, giving it even more strength than it has now. Within the room itself were the corpses of two large creatures, a seeming mix of man and cattle but far larger, along with a half-dozen humanoid skeletons. This was a scene of battle, for sure.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Mage skill vs door barrier: 9+11= 20 vs 5+3=9. Your magical strength allows you to break through

Stepping forward once more, you concentrate and force your way through the magical barrier before you. The going was harder than passing through anything physical, but it still poses no real deterrant to you. On the other side, you find a large crystal, its surface cracked and broken, with the streams of mana now visible to your eyes being drawn towards it. Surrounding it, however, were a number of spectres seeming feeding off it! At this time you have not been noticed, but if you approached they certainly would, and you could not tell if they were hostile or not. But that crystal... it promised power if only you could just bask in it for a while.. soak up what flows forth...
One way, or another, I'm going to find you, I'll get you, I'll get you!

She felt embarrassed at all the laughing, knowing they were laughing at her. It reminded her of when her master's men had used to do the same, when she was still new to the group and was still making blunders... though, she still does. They, however, no longer laugh at her, as they had begun to fear her due to her position in the camp and her deadly skill in combat. She wouldn't lie and say she missed being made fun of, but she'd rather it over fear.

Of course, either way it felt embarrassing, and she'd rather have neither. She quickly stepped out of the building, her cheeks feeling heated from shame. As soon as she was outside, she had meant to make a beeline to the north, only to have been stopped by a bigger human than she's accustomed to. She had to look up to get a good look at his face, though that didn't last long after she heard his proposal. Cresca's aware that she's not the brightest of beings, but her time with her master's men taught her when someone was acting sleazy and most probably wanted to do the same things to her that her master does. Had he been present himself, she's sure he'd have showed the human exactly what he had shown his men; she was off limits.

Cresca shook her head silently (though she HAD still considered it, a guide would be very nice to have), declining the man's invitation without a word. That was usually enough to warn off the others, so she figured that'd be enough for him, too. She attempted to continue on to her destination, trying to convince herself that she couldn't miss something like five mountains and that she REALLY didn't want or need a suspicious guide.

Gorbaz Wrote:(Jade)

The enthusiasm both the villagers and their head showed when told about not going to rescue their women as soon as possible was perplexing, confirming to Jade about there being something shady or unknown going on around there... not that she'd show it, instead keeping her visage as aloof as always as she nodded to them and followed along towards the stables they mentioned.
The place was relatively well-kept and decent enough to be used as a temporary shelter, if the light animal stink was ignored, and was strategic enough to move in and out of the village as well as get a general view of the surroundings from the balcony... moreover there was that stallion, a quite good one from the looks of it and surely at least better than the one she summoned on the way here.

Once the man made his exit she'd look around the place once again while thinking about what to do, walking around as she planned... asking those villagers about what was happening didn't seem like would yield results, and sneaking around at this hour too wasn't a good idea and going hunting too didn't feel like one, most likely because she still hadn't sated her curiosity about what was happening. In the end she'd just decide to put her things down up on the balcony before walking back down and approach the horse, intent on checking him out while pondering ways to get him as a viable choice for her steed summon spell.

Amy stares at the girl and smiles and beckons her ever closer before her eyes close and she begins to try and warp the world around them, moving them away from a field as she makes the sky blacken and darken around them, the field turning into marble floods and her own form held upon an altar, depictions of sex and carnal desires decorating the walls in the form of paintings, statues and stained glass windows until she finally speaks. "You have been chosen girl, to come with me and be a herald of the one I speak for, I will guide you and allow you to achieve greatness as a servant of me." She tells her, her voice sweet and intoxicating as she beckons the girl ever closer to her as she sits upon the throne, slowly as if to ease the girl down the path of corruption the paintings, statues and depictions come to life, enacting the every scenes they were previous displaying.

As she walk through one of the obstacles in her path, Nyx can't help but note that being disembodied spirit does have certain advantages when one tries to escape... or in this case, move deeper into... a prison. As the pull of her unknown destination grows stronger, Nyx gets a little woried. What if whatever that is in front of her draws in spirits to drain and destroy them? What if the pull becomes too strong to escape once she gets close enough? But curiosity or the magical lure of the phenomena she's searching for proves stronger than her caution, and she continues, not even noticing she's moving faster the closer she gets.

The chamber with the magical barrier gives her a pause. It seems something important lies beyond, and the pull, almost irresistible to her now, seems to originate from whatever lies behind the sealed door. Nyx spends a moment checking the corpses. While ancient battlefield is the most likely explanation, it may also be a place of some ritual sacrifice or just plain murder, like her cell, or they could be victims of the magic in the door. Better to make sure it's not the last one before she tries to move through it. But it seems it was indeed a battle, perhaps before the heroes reached the inner sanctum of the master of this place? Curious that the seal still holds, especially if its source of power is missing. Whoever made it must have been powerful and skilled magician. That thought excites her... perhaps some of his knowledge and tools still wait beyond the door? If so, she'd very much liked to get access to it. She makes her way through the final obstacle, too focused on the possible rewards to also consider the dangers.

She stops when she notices other spirits, but none of them seem to pay her any attention, too focused on the damaged crystal. Without moving any further, Nyx observes the scene. The crystal seems to be some sort of arcane battery gathering power for some unknown purpose... or is it just because of the damage, and it's original function was different? The spectres draining energy from it suggest that it may have served to gather power its creator would then use for him or herself. It draws the spirits close, but it doesn't seem to drain them, or are they stuck in some kind of loop, where they drain energy from the crystal only for the crystal to take it right back? If so, she should be careful, the crystal *did* lure her in. She examines the spectres closely. They ignore each other, and she's one of them, they'll most likely ignore her too. If they, for whatever reason, won't... she may be in trouble. Her magic was useful to distract and debilitate her foes, but it's unlikely any of it would work on undead, and she still had to use a sword while alive. Still, the lure of the crystal is just too great for her to resist. Nyx approaches, concerned more about the possible draining power of the crystal than about the surrounding spirits.
If it takes me two weeks or more to respond to a RP without prior notice, send me a PM. It's more likely I've missed the last post, forgot or got distracted and need a little reminder rather than deciding to drop the game without warning.

Henrietta always loved finding easy marks. Though she was still surprised by how large the Halfling's cock was.

With her strong fingers, the busty warrior began to stroke the Halfling's cock. With her other hand she undid the bindings to her own skin tight short pants to reveal a red thong that barely covered her pussy. Moving ever so slightly, Henrietta positions herself so she's facing the halfling with her knees on the bench. Her barely covered pussy just brushing against his cock as she slipped her top down to reveal her nipples. "Do you have a name big boy?" Henrietta asked as she began to move hips grinding against the halfling's cock. Every now and again glancing to the lordling to see what she was up to.

Nuria didn't expect any other answer really, even the wisest know only so much. If he were to know more about this "Demon Lord" he would have to go elsewhere. He wished to know its purpose, evil things had reason and needs just as anything else, just in a different light. Nuria considered the options presented to him by the priest. Heading straight for the old lair was probably a very bad idea. The elves might know something, as would the Guild of Venture. The old fort would probably be a good bet to find useful information. The old fort seemed to be the best bet for now.

"Thank you for your time and hospitality, may our paths cross again." Nuria said to Raymond as he bowed. He exited the church and set off to the fort.
I hurt you, I heal you, I hurt you again. That's the pattern.

=Farmland (Goblin contract)=

(Jade)

The upper area of the barn seemed to be a good place to deposit your equipment, and with the simple effort of shifting around a couple of hey bales, you are able to place what gear you desire into an area where prying eyes would not easily find. Moving back to the barn proper, the stallion continued to watch you as you moved closer, stamping its foot as you reached the door to his specific section. While it seems that he has little interest in letting you in to look around, it is clear from his pen that somebody has visited him recently as, curiously, there are a couple of well-sealed buckets in his stall, one of which seems to have something slick and wet in the corners, but you cannot tell for sure unless you actually ventured into the stall to have a closer look.

Using your arcane knowledge, however, you are able to determine that the stallion could be called with your power and be used as a steed. However, to fully bind the beast to you would require a ritual to be performed, rather than relying on put luck if he actually happens to be the nearest useable creature. Such a ritual would take time to complete, and normally require the knowledge of the true name of the one being bound, but as beasts do not have them, then it might be a bit tricky. The only other way you know of would be to draw out some of his essence and keep it in a receptacle on your person, similar to a phylactery. Or, you could just steal it...

=Garrison Contract=

(Henrietta)

The Halfling seemed barely able to keep himself in check as your fingers wrapped around his shaft, before positioning yourself provoctically directly in front of him. His gaze fixed on your ample bosom, even as his hips made little jerks as you teased him, moving back and fourth. "M..Marik. Marik Brandybrew" he stuttered as his mind only half-registered your question, his body almost totally acting of its own accord. His hands were swift enough to cup your breasts, giving them a squeeze together just long enough for him to bury his face in! He was putty in your hands.

The lordling woman, by contrast, was only sparing fleeting glances over at the display before her, giving little indignant huffs, before turning her attention to outside the carriage. By the flush of her cheeks, however, you could tell that the scene was at least a little exciting for her, even if she seemed determined to try and ignore it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Corruption roll: 10. x2 = 20! Total corruption: 46

The girl followed along, enraptured by your appearance, the shifting of the landscape around her seeming to draw her interest more than revulsion. Her eyes barely flickered as each new painting appeared around her, the level of lewdness in each ramping up slowly with every step she took. The girl's chest heaved as she drew breath in the dreamscape, the subtle signs of arousal clear to your eyes as she moved towards the alter.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Corruption test roll: 39. Commands accepted

The girl bowed her head as she stopped just short of the alter, her breaths becoming slightly shorter as she clasped her hands infront of herself, but between her own legs instead of the traditional over her heart. "Yes, my lady" she said with a sure steadiness. "I am honoured to be your servant! Please, teach me how I may spread your message!" she cried. Clearly you had her ensnared, and it would not be long before she would be compleately corrupted by your power. In fact, it would probably be very easy to simply get her to reveal her true name and bind her to you.

(Cresca)

Swiftly you make your way out of the village, leaving behind those crude and crass humans and their obvious attempts to get closer to you for their own purposes. At the very least you have a direction to work with - north, and as you pass out over the plains and away from the farmland, you soon catch sight of five prominent spikes of rock jutting out in the mist ahead. These must be the Five Old Men, but it would take some time to get there. Your instructions were to find out what was going on, but nobody had made mention of how you should proceed, or even of any dangers that may be nearby. You knew from personal experience that the forests to the north would have goblinoids living in them, and you might be able to convince them to aid you, but given how the situation in the bar went, and most monster's preference for sexual favours off of those they deem innocent-looking enough, the situation might get a bit... sticky. Of course you could always just continue forward, into the seat of whatever it was that was disrupting the mana flow...

=King's Highway=

(Nuria)

Setting out from the curch, you turn towards the west, and the old ruined border fort. The going would be long by foot, probably at the very least a full day's travel, although the road was getting plenty of use on this particular day. Even after only an hour's walk, there had been no less than a dozen coaches going in either direction down the road, although none stopped for what they saw as a monster. A simple illusion cantrip could cause one to stop and get you towards where the road turned north and save you probably half a day's travel, but you would need to rely on keeping it going for the whole journey, and nobody else on the coach asking questions about any other non-human mannerisms they might detect. The slow way was the safest and, given the status of the road, unlikely to draw any hostile monster attention. That is, at least until you had to go cross country.

=The Five Old Men=
(Nyx)
Moving in closer to the large crystal, the other spectres ignore your presence and seem to treat you much like one of their own, at least those that are not enraptured by the large jewel. You can feel the flow of mana much more acutely now that you are so close to it, and something in the back of your mind tells you that this must be some form of solidified mana, or else something used to contain it given that most of the flows in the area are moving towards it. In fact, being this close to it you can feel the pure force of the magical energy flowing through you and enfusing what constitutes your form with energy. You can feel the strength of your magical ability increasing, even if your knowledge of the magical arts was still the same. In fact, with the amount of power here, you feel like you might be able to affect the physical world much more easily.

Something gnaws at you, however. There is a flow moving away from the crystal with a much stronger pull. The others seem not to have noticed it, perhaps due to the number of flows going in eclipsing the outward one, but it was there. You get the feeling that whatever is pulling mana out from this broken construct must be powerful indeed, but if you could take the sizable rock with you, you *know* that you could face anything with this raw amount of power available to you!

But... wasn't that what the old lord of this place wanted? Power to crush everyone who got in his way?
One way, or another, I'm going to find you, I'll get you, I'll get you!
