Aya examined both of her subordinates as they stood at attention. Mini was just as quiet as she appeared on her document, and Lucy talked rather quickly. Wonderful, they were both absolutely adorable.
"No need for that. Sit, relax. We're going to talk. I am Aya Lynch, your recently appointed Lieutenant. While I expect your respect, I would also like to make conversations easy between us. We are fellow soldiers, comrades, friends."

She pulled herself from her reclining position, sitting up straight. Once the two of them were seated, she would begin.
"However, I don't necessarily trust you. Either of you, not yet. You see, my Frame specializes in close-range combat. In fact, it is exclusively built for close-range. While your individual reports give me an opinion of your skills, I would prefer to know who is standing behind me with a gun before I give them the order to fire. Accuracy and skill are not relevant here, but cool-headedness. I'd rather not be shot in the back because you're panicking. Additionally, you will need to follow orders to the letter. If you have a better plan at the time, bring it up. I understand that some people like to... brutalize the corpses of Breakers, or pose or scream a lot. It's rather therapeutic to our more... unstable brethren. Please do not indulge in such actions until it is confirmed our relevant mission at the time is complete."

Aya spoke jovially and cheerfully, despite the topic at hand. Her smile was warm, friendly, as she searched the eyes of the two women before her. How would they react?
"So, I would like you to make me trust you. Tell me a little bit about yourselves. Share as much or as little as you want, but I have a minimum of what I need to know. Tell me who you are, specifically who you really are, what your favourite hobbies are, what you do in your downtime, what you did before joining the army and, most importantly, why you fight the World Breakers."
Her eyes grew cold, a hardness in them not seen before. Aya's tone didn't change.
"If you do not meet my expectations, then you will not be deployed today. Your Frame will be shut off and you may try again once I return from this mission. Be truthful, lie and you wont be going anywhere today. But if you do not wish to share, then simply say so. If that is the case, then I will give you this mission as a chance to prove yourself. Your reports can only tell me so much. I want you to tell me what I need to know. Especially you, Mini. Your file details your combat ability, but almost nothing else. If it isn't an oversight, if there really isn't anything of value in your personality and identity... well, then I'd be short a subordinate then. I have no use for soldiers who can do nothing other than fight."

She reclined again, taking a sip of her drink. Damn, she wished it was alcoholic. Was she being too hard on these two? Especially calling the younger one out like that.
"Allow me to start. My name is Aya Lynch, I am a 32 year old Australian, I was promoted to Lieutenant half an hour ago likely due to my previous exploits and because of my wonderful charm. There are dozens of rumours surrounding me because of a claim I molested one of my previous subordinates. I assure you it was entirely consensual and she was merely jealous that I slept with her sister. My favourite hobbies include flirting with cute girls and cricket. Stereotypical, right? What I do in my downtime is try to bed cute girls, exercise or stare at my possible Frame loadouts full of indecisiveness. I was a martial arts instructor before and during my service time. I fight the Breakers as a Frame user because they need to be eradicated. Their very essence is a stain on this planet, and every single part of them needs to be wiped out to ensure the continued safety of humanity."

Aya checked her watch, smiling slightly again.
"You have two hours till we prepare for deployment. So, we have two hours to get to know each other. Make me trust you. Begin."

While she was headed towards the Training facilities, she was once again stopped by the Weapon's Specialist. The praise that she put on Hana made her blush. She was never really one to draw attention to herself, but then and again: Really Big Gun. The thermal launcher was something she chose because even though there were long range weapons, only a few of them actually had power quite like the launcher. As a matter of fact, during her testing, she scored quite well in the simulations using the thermal launcher, which was why it was now part of her load out.

"Thank you," she said with a great deal of sincerity. "Please, let me know when new super weapons are released. I'm quite interested in seeing how well they turn out. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to meet with my Commanding Officer..." She noted the time and left the armory with a small sprint. Please let her be on time.

Mini sat there motionless, hands under the table. She watched Aya closely as the girl gave her dialogue, trying to find as much meaning behind her words as possible. She almost winced as Aya called her out, it seemed she had a sneaking suspicion about Mini. However, it didn't appear to be anything concrete. Mini would use this to her advantage.

You had to give Aya props, she was very open about her history and.... interests. Mini wouldn't be as forthcoming.

Mini was tapping her foot nervously as to relieve some energy inside, her face remaining cool and collect. Her eyes rolled over to the colleague sitting next to her. Mini wanted to hiss at Lucy, scream even. "Why do I have to go first..." Mini thought aggressively to herself. Her face still remained emotionless. She turn her attention back to Aya, her empty blue eyes peering into the woman sitting across from her. She wasn't good with... people. She had spent the last 10 years in a lab isolated from any real human interaction. These ice breakers were the real "world breakers."

UFN had taught her what to say in situations like these, the script being practically instilled into her brain. Anything relating to Mini's true past was either shrouded in mystery or confidential. There was no way she would disclose it. "My name is Mini. Last name Nevall. I'm 18 years of age and was born in Northern California Collective. When the world breakers stuck the western seaboard of North America, my parents were killed. I enlisted the next day. I'm fighting the world breakers as to exterminate them from our planet, so that nobody will suffer as I have." She paused for a moment, catching a breath before continuing. "I'm trained in close quarters combat with skills in martial arts and heavy gunnery. My frame is equipped with several counter measures to dispose of any hostiles we encounter. I use excessive force to overwhelm the enemy. I'll follow your orders as long as they fall within mission parameters." Everything came out like a drone, almost robotic. However, that's all she really had. The UFN hadn't really given her anything else to go on. Hobbies? Pass times? This stumped Mini. She knew she had to give more information, but lacked the means to come up with anything. She ran her hands through her platinum hair, eyes searching around the bar as if to find an escape from this situation. Then it hit her. During her time in the labs she was given books. Even though most of it was informative pieces such as complex maths, history books, and basic sciences, it gave her some escape from the horrible situation she grew up in. "I like... reading." Mini said slowly, looking down at the table. "Romance novels." She hadn't actually read a novel in her life, or anything romantic for that matter. Perhaps it was believable?

That sounded practiced. On one hand, it could be that the girl was socially awkward and had prepared something to say in these situations. But considering all of the other suspicious information surrounding Mini, that just sounded even more suspect.
Especially the monotone she gave it in. Honestly, Aya believed about half of that. Where she was born, her parents being killed. The bit about romance novels, perhaps. It sounded like a guilty pleasure more than anything.

Aya smiled sweetly and tried to catch Mini's eye.
"Well, at least you tried. I thought I told you to be honest, so much for following orders~!"
If it turned out that the girl was speaking the truth... well, she only said that to gauge her emotional response.

"Lucy, your turn."

Smalls paced slowly back and forth before the member of the her team who had turned up on time. While the Filipino woman's profile was a bit spotty on her military affiliation the service record showed she'd seen and survived the same sort of suck Smalls had. They chewed similiar mud and that gave woman a point in Smalls' book, not that she could let the woman know that yet.

The echoing clap of feet down the corridor caused Smalls to break her secluded thoughts and look up at the running.

"Ji... Ha... FNG! Get your ass here now or I'll stick up foot so far up your ass and wear you around like pair of fucking flip flops," She snapped, "My god, you are more fucked up than a left handed football bat, you know that? Do they not have time where you are from FNG? Does the concept of time, geographical coordinates and your physical presence, not your emotional or spiritual presence but your physical one, confuse you? How do you expect to kill a World Breaker when the concept of Time is able to kick your ass? This aint no Sunday school FNG, you in the Army now! Now when I say 'attention' I want to hear cunts slapping shut!"

"Now ATTENTION!" Smalls shouted, stepping back to address the pair.

"All right, listen up." Dropping her tone to make sure both women knew how serious she was, "You people will not die on me in combat. You fucking new guys will do everything you can to prove me wrong. You'll walk on trails, kick cans, and diddely-bop through the bush like you were back on the block. On guard at night you'll write letters, play with your organ, and think of your girl back home. Forget her. Right now, some World Breaker has her on her back and is fucking her into oblivion."

"This is our enemy." She pointed to the identification silhouettes painted on the wall on the firing range, "Those of you who are foolish will think of him as 'Nid,' 'Bug,' Zoot' or 'Alf.' He is your enemy. Now forget about this E.T. shit. What you'll encounter out there is hard core World Breakers. Highly motivated, highly trained and well equipped. If you meet him or his cousins, you will give him respect. Meet him twice, and survive, and you will refer to him as 'Mister World Breaker.' Now people, I am sick and tired of filling body bags with your dumb fucking mistakes. You want to make it out of here you will listen to those that know."'

Pausing for a moment, she gestured to Maiza as well with a nod of her head. Both to show the FNG that she should listen to her team mate, but also to bring home the next bit.

"Some of you think you have problems because you've lost something in this the war. You demonstrated at home, keep hate filled mementos, and you have attitudes. I'm an orphan, my brother's queer, the city of Chicago got the clap from my sister, Mom drinks, Dad coughs blood, I have ringworm, immersion foot, the incurable crud and the alien invasion ruined my chances of being a brain surgeon. People, you are at War. You have no problems. Except me."

Smalls turned and took a step back before pointing at the figure of the World Breaker on the firing range, "And him"

Shrugging off her BDU blouse she turned back to the two women.

"Now what do you two say about a little PT! Left face! At the double!" Small's smiled before breaking out into song "There she was just a walking down the street singing.."

She nods "well were to start I was born off the coast Newfoundland I had two older bothers we all worked in the coal mines before the war." She brings out a picture of her family you'll notice her parents and her two brothers herself in the middle . " unfortunately they were killed during the invasion trying to hold the line in Ottawa." she sighs. " they did fight bravely I was told." She takes a sip from her drink. "But reason I joined military well they in need of doll Pilots and I already had experience with the mining dolls also knew there would come time they would just conscript me anyway so might as join."

She take a sip . "My doll is set up for mid range combat and is able to fly for a period of time it has paint rounds in so I can mark enemy targets also the doll is very nimble but very fragile well almost like a China doll so given it the name Eliza Wich was the name of China Doll I had." she smiles.

"As for hobbies I can tell you a few. "back home I use fish a lot during my off time if I had any money I would go to the local pub have few drink and maybe rase some hell. She winks. "

Well this isn't what Maiza had expected... But it wasn't entirely unwelcomed as the CO seemed to have quite a colorful language that made the experience entertaining. While not having a complete formal training while fighting in her country she understood the basics of command. Simply remaining silent as she followed the orders of her CO. If everything went well she could get a replacement attachment for her weapon as every but of gear attachment she had within her doll frame was pieced together over time. Something that isn't exactly news for those trying to survive with the lesser skeleton frame of the dolls. When smalls started singing to realize she didn't know the song. Maiza did her best to remain silent at the rather entertaining officer they had.
Life has gotten so much more boring. Well I suppose it doesn't help if I say my only source of entertainment is YouTube and here. So yeah not much of interesting life going on.

Just as you finish your introductions, Jessica's and Aya both received a message from Commander Hanamoto:

Mission Briefing: Operation Severed Stroke

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

To all Lieutenant:

Our initial scouting team has found the main WB nest to be located in the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. The creatures appear to have used the natural resources of the area to grow and expand out. Eventually they were able to capture the entire island. However, the Singapore Armed Forces have been able to protect part of the reserve. If the nest is destroyed, the island should be able to recover.

Before we can make any attempt on Pulau Ujong. We must deal with the smaller nests on the outer islands. If we don't, we'll surrounded when we make the main assault. Each team has been assigned to a separate infested. Your mission will be head to the target location. Destroy the immature nest:

Island Assignments:

Aya Lynch: Pulau Ubin

The multiple quarries located on the island have proven an ample breeding ground for the World Breakers. You will be tasked with assaulting the Ketam Quarry

Jessica Smalls: Pulau Bukom

Most of the refineries on the island were destroyed during the invasion. However, our scouts have found high amounts of World Breaker activity among the wreckage. You will be tasked with clearing out any WBs found on the southern end of the island

The files seemed to include other information such as a map of the area and a small dictionary of known WB's

"Well considering our new home doesn't serve alcohol most of the time, and being a permanent military base, you may have some trouble raising hell."
From the tone of her voice, while Aya did approve of drinking, getting that drunk wasn't approved. But Aya did catch the rest of what Lucy was saying. A story with proof. She obviously still cared for her deceased family, to go out of her way to show that photograph.
Aya dryly noted that since her family was dead, Lucy had nothing to fear by pulling out their picture. A shitty joke, really.

She picked up the PDA, making sure to switch the screen from the recording part to the new message. It was still going, good.
Well then, that seemed like a good idea. She made a few notes and brought up the maps, laying the device onto the table.
"It appears we have our mission information."
Aya then relayed the necessary information to her two subordinates, point to the map location where they would be deployed.

"We will be deployed here. I think, judging from the information provided by your Frames, Lucy should move ahead to scout and spot. Do not open fire until all of us are prepared to engage. Make note of any cover you find, since it will be useful if there are any mature range attacking Breakers. The closer we get to the Quarry, and then the nest, without being spotted will increase the likelihood of our success. Thankfully this is an immature one, so resistance will be less than that of an assault force or full scale nest. Lucy, when we approach the quarry I want every Breaker scout or drone in that area spotted. We get rid of them, we don't have to care about a pincer attack when we're in the nest. Back to that trust building I was talking about before. I hope you two have something to add to this plan of ours. Especially since neither of you have proved entirely trustworthy yet."
That jovial tone and warm smile had faded away to a very cold and stoic expression. Sure, Lucy was fine and was absolutely going to be brought on the mission, but she was rather boring and Aya wanted to see how much she could pull from the girl when it came to information.

As for Mini... well, she would let her pass as soon as she said one more thing that Aya found truthful. She wasn't going to go to this assault alone.

Mini examined the details of their first mission, Operation Severed Stroke. They were assigned to assault the Ketam Quarry, a breeding ground no less. The mission details were simple and methodical enough, though nothing was ever so straight forward.

Finally, some action! Mini couldn't help but to smile, but quickly hid by returning her expression to one that didn't convey anything. Her hunger for violence would finally be sated. Mini was a bit disappointed with her co's plan for Lucy to take the forward position. It made sense, and it was smart, sure. However, that would mean Aya and herself would bring up the rear. She didn't like the idea of possibly missing out on some firsthand bloodshed. Also there was the fact she would have to accompany this woman who didn't trust her. She wouldn't complain though, it would seem oddly suspicious.

Mini looked over the plan one last time before chiming, keeping her piece short and cold. "We can use the ballistic missiles my frame is equipped with as timed explosives. Once we find the heart of the nest, we secure them in place and call for evac. It should be enough to render the quarry unstable and eliminate the target." Mini left it at that, sinking back into the couch with nothing else to add.

she shrugs "I guess that true" she sigh as she put back the photograph in her coat pocket. "I just hope we'll be able to go to a off shore bar then but I can manage without the alcohol" she smiles.

when Aya pull up the map she listens what she has to then nods agreeing to going ahead to scout" I should be able to do scouting but what should I do if get spotted though?" she pulls out a notepad from her pocket "also I can draw out the landscape if need." she smiles.

Aw Crap. Hana didn't make it in time. Rather than apologize needlessly, she simply fell into attention immediately, and take the bombardment for being late. She quietly and patiently waited out the rant her CO had blasted, reminding her of basics Drill Training. The reminder of Drill training continued as they slipped straight into Physical Training. This was going to be a bit hard on her. She was already beading sweat and breathing slightly harder from taking off from the Armory to the Training room. She simply shut off her brain for a few minutes, as she just focused on keeping up.

Aya nodded at both suggestions, taking interest at Mini's.
"Good idea. My own Frame is equipped with similar missiles, so it would be a viable strategy to get rid of the nest once all of the fighting Breakers are dealt with. Lucy, ideally you wont get spotted. If you do, try to lure the Breakers into an ambush position with us. But that might not be viable, so if you do get spotted try to take down the one that did, especially if it tries to run and tell its leaders. Not the best tactic, but if it can't inform it's friends than that is good enough."
It would also alert any in earshot of an attacker, but in that event the tactic was for herself and Mini to strafe Lucy's position. It wasn't quite using her as a bait, but...

"I wonder if the bosses want us to keep the quarry in a state so it could be reused... Hm, I hope that isn't the case, blowing it up is the best idea. I don't want to do a systematic sweep of the area, breaking every egg and whatnot."
She frowned, staring at the map. Lucy would be great when it came to the outside, but inside...?

"Once we're inside, we stick together. Lucy will bring up the rear, depending on how enclosed of a space it is, you could be at a disadvantage."
So far they had a pretty viable plan. The inside was the tricky bit. They had only a basic idea of its layout, from the map provided, but it was probably going to be very different once they got inside. Making sure everything on the outside was dead was probably their best solution before entering.

"...Singing do wha diddy, diddy dum, diddy do. She looked good..." Smalls came to a screeching halt as the rest of team didn't call back, "COMPANY HALT!"

"Is there some fucking problem here, maggots?" She roared, nostrils flaring as she ranted, "Have you lazy sacks of shit of the google generation got so used to your intellectual apathy you've got an error message 404, esprit de corp not found? Is my taste in music not up to your lofty standards you unorganised grab-asstic pieces of amphibian shit? Did the fairy-fucking-godmother come down and remove my sense of hearing?"

Pausing to catch her breath she noticed the FNG was sucking hard after the run, not a good indicator of her fitness.

"FNG! Stop breathing so hard, you're stealing the air from the rest of us," She snapped, "My god, I aught to get you a pot plant to carry around to replace all the fucking air you waste, you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose."

"I don't know, maybe it's me, maybe you maggots are just coin operated?" Smalls grinned, feeling around in her pocket for some change when her PDA beeped it's message, "Well Hallelujah, saved by the bell. Hit the showers maggots, briefing and kit inspection in one hour."

she nods "understood ma'am" she thinks for moment there might be small chance of some explosive in the Quarry depending how tight the area was on explosives regulations in that area.

In Canada they were very careful with the use and handling of explosive every sence the Halifax explosion in 1917.They would have keep the explosives in an unpopulated area and store them in sheds called magazine wich were also made bullet proof so incase stray bullet from Hunter hit the magazine it would prevent the it hitting the explosives inside.

Mini sat there quietly, satisfied with Aya's agreement on a plan of action. The mission details were sparse. She didn't know if the quarry needed to stay intact, she didn't care. It would be too timely, costly, and risky to keep around. The most optimal move would be to destroy it. If command thought otherwise, so be it, it wasn't Mini's place to question orders. She was merely a tool, a weapon. This would be a test to see if she was ready.

Mini stood up from the booth, turning to face the two girls. She had nothing else to add for the time being, and seeing how she still held the breaker venom in her back pocket, she needed to install it in her doll frame. "I have to make final preparations before deployment. I'll be in the hanger. Private. Lieutenant." Mini gave each of the girls a nod and turned to leave, not waiting for her co's dismissal. She knew Aya wouldn't let her off the hook so easily, that much was certain. However, whether or not Aya wanted Mini to be apart of the operation wasn't her choice. There were many higher ups in the UFN overseeing Mini being apart of this team, those with lots of money and power. Mini exited the lounge, a smile forming on her lips.

Maiza couldn't hold on the small chuckle much longer as she laughed out. "Heheh forgive me... I find the experience entertaining as is, but I don't know the song enough to respond to your singing ma'am" she said with a small smile as she kept herself at attention. Then for the CO to bark at the other girl for her lack of stamina was quite entertaining still. In such cases to be able to find the humor. She recalled her squadmates as well as superiors unable to retain such a serious mentality without joking about it. When a time when they could easily all die within a few second they just tried to have fun with what was in front of them.

Being dismissed was a relief as she wondered whether or not she would be able to find a new set of cloths. Walking into the showers she cleans herself off quickly finding the nice relief of a hot shower as her homeland couldn't easily distribute such a luxury. Removing herself to dress back up and dry herself as quickly as possible. Fifty minutes until inspection as well as the briefing. Who making a quick stop at the armory to see if the attachment had been finished.

Aya waved her hand dismissively. Unprofessional of her, but whatever. She had no intention of starting an argument with the girl. But she did call out.
"I'll finish the plan then. Once you're done with your preparations, meet me in the barracks. Moore, that goes to you too. If you have nothing else to add, go start your prep. Don't take too long. Tell that to whoever is operating on your Frame as well."
She dismissed to two, pulling up her PDA and writing down what they had so far for the plan, also stopping and saving the recording she had made. Trust or not, she was probably going to be bringing Mini. A first test, maybe. Aya sighed, hoping the decision wouldn't bite her in the ass.

Once Lucy had left as well, she sent the recording to the Commander and tried to message her.
"That's what I got. I'm not going to push this too hard, especially just before deployment, but that girl needs to be watched. I'll look more into her afterwards, but I will bring her along to this mission. Social situations don't seem to be her comfort zone, so I want to see what she's like in that zone. You'll get my full report of Mini 'Nevall' after our success. Lynch, out."

Well that was a thing. Maybe she could nap a little before the deployment, buuuuuuuuut then the plan wouldn't be done and they might die. Decisions, decisions.
Plan first, then inspection, then nap.

So they would clear out or pacify any scouts and fighting Breakers on the outside of the quarry. If there were any explosives in the area, they would collect them for later. Lucy Moore would move ahead of Aya Lynch and Mini Nevall to scout and spot any enemies. If she was caught, she would lead the enemy back to Aya and Mini for an ambush, or chase and kill it if it wasn't keen on chasing. Any locations on the outside of the quarry that were likely hiding more of the creatures would have to be spotted out and crushed.
Once inside the mine, things weren't so clear. No real map other than a really old one from well before the Endless Summer. They would have to stick together, Aya with her shield in the front with Lucy in the back to cover the rear. Clear the place out as best as possible, set and then detonate the explosives to crush the nest and any stragglers. Don't get separated and make sure no pincer attack is incoming.

As far as plans go, it wasn't the best. Not full-proof at all, but it was something. Putting her jovial air back on, Aya made her way to the hangar. Time for an inspection of her own Frame. As she walked, Aya sent a message to any relevant engineer to talk to Mini about the possibility of altering some of her and Aya's own missiles to be remote detonated.
Though she didn't correct her uniform, leaving it how she had it in her relaxed posture. They'd be taking it off anyway once they were ready to be deployed. Hmmm, maybe she could get her cute subordinates to get changed into their Frame suits all together...

she walks down hanger bay looking at some of the other doll frame most of them seem to just be walking tanks well one other she notice looked just as agile as her this looked like it was made from Japan then she notice another one but that look like Frankenstein of doll parts it kind of reminded her of doll her and her father would fix for the coal mine before the war. she finley make down to her doll Eliza.
