Pokémon: Battle for Redemption Isle

Postby XanderFrost » Sun Jul 31, 2016 1:48 am

"Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome! I am Professor Pine! Unlike what you've heard in the past about the Pokémon world, you're about to discover that those stories are fairy tales told to protect children's dreams. In this world, humans and Pokémon are in a never ending war for control of not only Earth, but also the secrets hidden within. The humans, with their guns and swords, currently take residence in the mysterious island grouping known as the Redemption Isle. Pokémon reside nearly everywhere, some even inhabit Redemption Isle. These Pokémon are seen as traitors by other Pokémon and are branded as criminals. In fact, not everything is false about your stories. Those who are lucky are born with the unique ability to speak to Pokémon, though it is only their partner Pokémon they can speak to."

After nearly one thousand years of war, the human safe haven known as Redemption Isle is being attacked by Ferals, Pokémon who wish for supremacy over humans. It's up to the chosen few who can speak to Pokémon to save the entire human race. After an attack has been made on the capitol of Redemption Isle, the HDF (Human Defense Force) has decided to recruit as many young trainers as possible. This is where our young trainers come into play. These squadrons of trainers have been training their bodies and Pokémon for nearly eight years. Good luck, teams

Jeffery:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Waking up halfway to the Red Squadron's base, you notice that the transport has stopped. While there are multiple stops on the way to base camp, this one isn't scheduled. Your partner Pokémon is safely inside it's Pokéball and from it, you can feel a wave of comfort through your mental link. After a quick check through a window, you find that you're in the Yellow Squadron's Base.

Erick:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

While living on Base is great to some, you find it annoying as new recruits come up to you to ask for directions. While the two boys in the group are pleasing to the eye, you can't help but roll your eyes at their stupidity and lack of basic map-reading skills. Above all else, they're being very rude about it, as though it were your sworn duty as a graduate to tell them everything they wanted to know. The girls however seem shy and reserved, or maybe they're afraid of you? Either way, the males are getting on your nerves.

Aster:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

With a short stop at the Yellow Squadron's base to refuel, you've decided to go for a bit of sight-seeing and maybe con a street vendor into giving you some food. While you know that this is a place safe from Feral Pokémon, a young lady can never be too safe, thus you've decided to let your partner Pokémon, Frosty, tag along outside of his Pokéball.

Jeffery woke up from his little nap. He'd been on riding to his new home at the Red Squadron base. Grabbing his itinerary and checking his watch he noticed they weren't scheduled for a stop right now and a quick look outside shown he was presently in Yellow Squadron's Base. He was sure they must have had a reason for the stop, but he had apparently been left out knowing why. Grabbing his bag and Eva's ball he rolled the latter around in his palm as he stepped out of the vehicle to look for his comrades to see just what was going on.

Erick found the boys getting on his nerves. How dare they not know how to read a map in front of him? What was he, some kind of glorified info desk in an unbelievably cool outfit? Well he would show them. The question then was how to punish them without scaring the girls, since they did not wrong him so. Should he humiliate them on their lack of navigational expertise? Or maybe he could guide them to a girl's locker room like the trickster god that he was. Oh how he would plot their demise. Plot it like the fucking maps they couldn't read! Mwahahahahaha!

"Yeah, it's right down the hall on your left," he replied to them, guiding them to their destination. True, it sucked that he never got asked anything serious. It was always "How do you get to room 301B from here" or "Could you lend me your notes for XX class?" Never "Oh you spent four years learning medicine? Could you show me how to treat symptoms of shock?" But what was he going to do? He learned medicine because he liked helping people. He wasn't an asshole.

Jeffery:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

As you step out of the transport you see that the Blue Squadron transport is a few yards ahead of the Red. With a quick check of the Blue Team you decide that this stop is simply to refuel and with the size of the fuel tanks, this could take hours. Your Eevee seems to radiate curiosity as you glance down a street filled with vendors serving sweet smelling dishes and delicious PokéTreats.

Erick:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

While the thought of humiliating the boys is appealing, the thought of a battle also jumps into your mind. Your Pokémon is surely strong enough to take on both of these two, after all, You've known her for years where these two have known theirs for a few days at most. This of course is just one way to humiliate them, your bathroom prank being a bit childish yet still hilarious.

Aster:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Only a few yards from the transport, you hear a small shriek and the sound of a Pokéball being thrown frantically. The voice is that of another girl whom you recognize, as she was a classmate of yours for two years and also just recently graduated. As you recall, her Tropius was, while strong and obedient, a bit indifferent toward the trainer's classmates.

Casey:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

After only a few seconds in Yellow, You've managed to be cornered by two very unsavory young men who seem to want more than just a conversation. With a shriek, you throw Solaris's Pokéball only to make your limited space that much more limited. While you could fly over a building to escape these two, that would only disgrace the name of Blue Squadron. On the other hand, there are two of them and one of you, maybe running is only right? Though cornering them is also an option, as it would require only a single flap of Solaris's wings to jump over the men.

Jefferey noticed the Blue Squadron vehicle ahead of them fueling up. Well it was unexpected, but the couple hours he had before they were finished would be a good chance to stretch his legs. A pulse from Eva's ball brought his attention to the vendor stalls a ways away. He chuckled, his little Eva always liked to think of herself as a pragmatist and compared to Jeffery she certainly was, but there was no denying she had a sweet tooth. With a smile he released her from her ball holding her close to his chest as he started walking through the stalls.

"Actually, before you go. Would any of you be interested in a battle?" he asked. While he certainly would enjoy it when he won, he was actually more interested in seeing how tough the new recruits actually were. The stronger they were, the less likely they would need him to patch them up in the future. Plus it seemed like a fun way to stall before heading wherever he had to be next.

Jefferey:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

As you walk along you find a trio of boys. One of them wears a Yellow Pendant much like your own Red Pendant, while the other two are wearing the Yellow jackets of Freshmen Trainers. The two freshmen have tossed their Pokéballs and seem to be making a bet on the upcoming battle, though not to each other. They seem to be talking to the graduate, this could be a great day for you as you hear that they'll disclose Pokémon locations if they lose.

Erick:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The boys smile at each other and nod, pulling their Pokéballs from their jackets. As the taller boy brings out his Pidgey, the shorter one sends out a Diglett. The Boys seem extremely confident though the girls are more focused on the Yellow Pendant around your neck that marks you as a member of Yellow Squadron. "How about this, if we win we get all your cash, if you win, we'll tell you where we got our partners, deal?" The larger one asks, obviously the leader of the little group.

Erick brought out his dependable Chansey, ready to knock them down a peg. He was going to have to be careful, since it was 2 on 1, but he had faith in his Pokemon's abilities. The bet caught his interest, since he hadn't wondered about their partners until they brought them up. Were they not assigned? He tried to remember when he got his Chansey. If there was something funny going on, then he wanted to know.

"Sounds good," he replied with a mischievous grin.

Jeff smiled as he saw the two rookies challenging their fully trained superior. It was funny to see and recall how he'd been in those days. Always with a fire in his belly and thinking he was ready to take on the world. Now he'd completed his training and knew he and Eva were ready. "You boys weren't thinking of proving yourselves by winning a 2 on 1 match were you?" In his arms he could feel Eva's muscles tense in excitement. She knew exactly what he was planning and he wasn't the only one who felt cooped up on the long ride.

Jefferey:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The Yellow's Chansey spoke one million words as you realize that he's a medic. He could be even more useful as a teammate than just a random pal, never to be seen again. This battle has become more than just an unfair attempt for glory from the Freshmen, but is now a way to gain an ally as well. You could simply try to wipe out both opponents, or maybe just take one down while the Medic toys with the other. The Pidgey seemed weak and the Diglett frail, as though they were abused, starved even. Regardless, you need to hear where the Pokémon came from.

Erick:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

As the boys get a good look at your Chansey you hear the voice of another, this time it seemed to be a bit more toward helping you instead of questioning you. As you look past the boys you see a member of Red Squadron stepping up, Eevee in hand. The thought of having a teammate crossed your mind. You could let him help, or merely brush him off, taking any glory this battle held for yourself. What to do?

Looking at the two boys standing in front of Solaris, Casey could tell what they wanted from her by the way they were looking at her. Looking towards Solaris she told him,"Solaris blow these two away with a light Gust." Nodding his head Solaris began to flap his leaf like wings, quickly whipping up a strong wind blowing towards the boys.

Turning towards the girl who had just run up to her Casey recognized her as being from her classes over the past few years. 'I think her name was Asta or something like that,' she thought to herself. Looking at her worried face Casey put on a reassuring smile as she said,"Don't worry I'm alright Solaris was able to stop them before they did anything to me."

Aster & Casey:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The smile on Casey's face was not only reassuring, but also very familiar. Upon hearing the name of the Tropius at her side, Aster remembers Casey completely, and according to the Blue Pendants around their necks, the two were partners. As the men groan complaints, they let out their own Pokémon, giving no heed to fairness. The first to send a Pokémon out is the shorter of the two but only by an inch or two. Before your eyes, the two draw from inside their shirts Black Pendants. Before you stand two former Trainers who had been banished for breaking laws. The Pokémon are obviously former Ferals who were caught by the renegades.

Jeffery took a look at the two pokemon he was helping face off with for the first time and found himself disgusted with what he saw. Both of them looked like they were about to go down to a stiff breeze they were so poorly cared for. He clenched his fist as he allowed Eva down to square off with the two. He'd be sure to find someone to report these two for their negligence, but first he needed to show these trainers how well a properly maintained mon could battle. Pointing at the Pidgey he shouted his command to Eva, "Make this quick, Tackle now!"

Erick & Jefferey:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Eevee & Chansey
VS.
Pidgey & Diglett

Eva uses Tackle; 14 to hit
Pidgey jumps; 11 to dodge
Attack connects; 5 Damage
Pidgey takes 2 Damage from previous poisoning

The Pidgey lets out a cry as it takes the hit, obviously in pain yet seemingly thankful for the attack. With a sad cough, the Pidgey faints. The Diglett looks to its partner sadly before hurting itself in hunger-induced confusion.

Diglett inflicts 5 Damage to itself

"hey!" Aster yelled out "4 on 2 isnt fair!" she pointed as Frosty jumped off her shoulder and went forward "Frosty Icicle Spear now!" she yelled out "aim for the bulbasaur" she was so focused on the fight she didnt see her skirt fly up in the wind to the boys which allowed them some peaks up it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Vanillite uses Icicle Spear; 19 to hit; Critical
Bulbasaur sidesteps; 3 to dodge
Attack connects; 9 initial damage, 3 Critical damage, SUPER EFFECTIVE; 24 Damage

The Bulbasaur seems unaffected and let's loose a loud cry only to faint halfway through. The renegade withdraws the Pokémon and barks a command to the Caterpie. "Caterpie, String Shot on the Vanillite Trainer!" In an instant Aster is covered in webbing, her mouth closed and covered by the sticky material. "Let's see how you battle without speaking!" From Frosty, feelings of anger rise in the link.

Fliching away from the sudden appearance of the enemy Pokemon, Casey watched as Solaris quickly placed himself between her and them. Getting her wits back she heard Aster order her Vanillite to attack and decided to order Solaris to do the same. "Solaris," she shouted,"hit that Staryu with your Razor Leaf." Nodding Solaris reared his wings back before whipping them forward unleashing a flurry of razor sharp leaves.

Aster glared and pulled away at the string shot wrapped around her face, hating the taste, trying to open it up so she could get one word out "Hail" she managed to shout out before going back to pulling at the webbing and struggled as it stuck to her hands. With hail being a weather effect it should help hit everything around them.
