Forest Of Maidens: Gale Valley Assault

Postby Mark3000 » Sat Jan 16, 2016 2:11 am

Gale Valley. A once blocked of area of the kingdom has suddenly become accessible due to a large earthquake. The valley provides a unique opportunity for both Maidens & Men alike. For Maidens, it's a direct corridor to Man's territory and most of their home villages. For Man, it is a passageway to Maiden's less prepared villages and a clear path to the capital and the Eternal Queen. The outcome of this battle my determine the outcome of the war

Maiden Headquarters

Lillian Crest & Selia Nohan both travel to the entrance of the valley. In their pockets is the letter from the Maiden Princess herself. It reads:

To my brave Commander

I have tasked you with an important mission. On the second day of the seventeen-hundred and thirtieth year of the reign of the Eternal Queen, the kingdom suffered a terrible disaster. One that left ruin and destruction in it's wake. But it has also provided an opportunity to save this Kingdom. With the earthquake and subsequent landslides, a new land has opened up to us. Historians and initial scouting confirm it as the Gale Valley. An area said to house monsters, and natural treasures the likes of which we have never seen.

However, our scouts have also learned that the valley has also become accessible to the Tribes of Man. If they manage to gain control over the secrets of the valley, they will wreak havoc upon all Maidenkind. Thus I have tasked you with the job of claiming this land for the Eternal Queen. You possess a set of skill uniquely suited for this task. We must learn the secrets of the valley push these man back to where they belong. On the behalf of the Eternal Queen I wish you good luck.

Sincerely,
Maiden Princess Belladonna

The letter is signed by the Maiden Princess and has the seal of the Eternal Queen. This letter is proof that you are the leader among your troops. After a short trip, Lillian's & Selia's carts separated to head to their separate headquarters (D1, G1). To ensure no man ever got past them into the kingdom, three Headquarters were build along the entrance to the valley. You both arrive at you location to find an unassuming fort. At the top hung the Maiden's Flag. It was about two stories and had just enough room to house the army you came with. Once everyone begins to settle in. They gather outside and wait for their respective leaders to issue their first set of orders, with or without an opening speech.

Man's Headquarters

The trek was long and dangerous but Natasha Havenmaw & Dokis finally arrive at Gale Valley. For Outcasts to help a man is one thing, but for a man to come to the Outcast Clans for help is another. However, that's what the Solfather did. When he came to each of your villages, you couldn't believe your eyes. He looked to be a frail old man past his prime. What he showed you was something you hadn't seen from any man or outcast before, vision. The Solfather had a vision for the accession of mankind to dominance. A vision that held the outcasts not just as equals but essential to the rise of man. Thus he has entrusted you with taking the Gale Valley. That's what the Maidens seemed to call it anyway. The Solfather told you about the legends of the valley, of monsters and treasures beyond your wildest imagination. Not only that but that the valley could lead them directly to the Eternal Queen.

The trip had been a rowdy one. The Solfather offered you some of the man he had gathered under him. They seemed to clash not just with each other but also some of the other outcasts that chose to follow you. So far it hasn't gotten serious but there is always the possibility.

Soon Natasha & Dokis separate and move into their respective home camps (A11, D11). The craftsman from the Blue Chest tribe had already built both your headquarters in advance, anticipating your arrival. One story fort made of wood to house 15 plus their leader. The man and outcast settle in and get a bit a sparing in. All of your subordinates look eager to get started as they await their first set of instructions.

Lillian looks over the note as the caravans travel, her eyes scanning the parchment signed by the Maiden Princess herself, her lips curling into a smile as she read it, chosen she was by Princess for this difficult task, her and some duck. Glancing over to the caravan that held the duck and her group she nodded politely though she quickly turned her head away, giving such a task to one such as her was mind boggling. "How did a duck rise so high." She wonders aloud before she sits on her horse. Smiling to herself as he rode along, protected by what militia the nation could spare for her task. Riding over to Selia she nods once before she speaks. "Commander Selia," She comments quickly, looking over the troops before turning back to her. "I do hope you can rise beyond your station and act like a commander should, I will take my forces and head to the middle fort and branch from there, I expect reports from you on your progress and anything you find, understood?" She asks in a harsh tone before turning back to her cart and parting ways as they split off in separate directions.

Looking upon the fort she would be calling hers to command she nods a little. it was a start but this was to hold the valley. As the women arrive to get settle in she gives them a moment, tying her horse up before she inspects the grounds humming to herself in thought as she wonders about how she'll approach her next move. Before anyone can move off to do anything through she steps from the headquarters and finds a box to stand on to give her a height advantage. "Ladies." She calls out her voice ringing across the soldiers and peasants alike. "We are the start, the ones who will pave the way to stop those barbarians from ever threatening our home. We will drive them back, claim what mysteries this Valley holds and be welcomed back as heroes. As the ones that stood against our most hated enemy and crushed them, securing the way to victory and an end to this war." She lets the words hang in the air before continuing. "You will return to your homes and be able to say I was there, I stood against the vile barbarians and protected our Kingdom, and I saved my nation!" She screams to them letting the words drift into their minds before she speaks back up. "We have a lot of work to do before we can properly secure the area. We will need workers to build and maintain food and supplies, we are cut off from the main Kingdom's resources as we press into the Valley, unable to lend us aid as they deal with the other threats the tribes of Men force upon us." She tells them stepping down and walking among them slowly."So get to work and build the stepping stones to this victory!" She roars at them before moving to her Militia and Rangers.

"Rangers take the Militia with you and scout out the area to the north east. (CD 2 scouting), I want to know how valuable that area would be if we were to set up certain placements then come back." She orders before turning to the a builder. "I want to set up some farmland here, take what supplies you need from the carts and get what workers you require." She tells her before moving on and patroling her fort, nodding to those she hasn't got any work for as of yet.

She could hear the tiny droplets of rain rapping against the cover stretched above her horse-driven carriage, imagined liquid snakes trickling sluggishly down leather and wood and metal before tacitly dissolving into nothingness. It helped her relax, cleared her mind so it could be free of doubt or hesitation. The mission she had embarked upon was as peculiar as the one who offered it to her - a flimsy-looking man with a disturbingly powerful vision. She had not believed him until she saw for herself that which he had united, and even then.. she could not shake off the feeling that she was being used, but did she truly have any other choice? This world seldom gave her any.

"What do you think, Natasha?" Dokis speaks to the other warlady, her old friend and companion. She had asked her to ride in the same carriage so they could discuss plans across the long journey. "This Solfather.. he spoke of unity and acceptance, and yet he sent us here in the first line, with not much assistance. There was talk that a male warlord would join us, but I haven't seen any trace of him," she sighs, fiddling with her furs. This land was much warmer than what she had grown used to. "Will he even come?" she paused for a while after that talk, listening to the marching songs shouted by the men that were with them. Her outcasts were familiarly silent. They were fighting on the same side, and yet they were so different.. too different. The danger was present as much within as it was outside.

But when was it ever easy?

She rose as the road came to an end, at least Dokis' journey - her headquarters, this tattered map told, were situated between Natasha's and the place where the other warlord was supposed to be. She set foot in the valley and had a look around, darkly sniffing the humid air. She turned around to the other. "This land.. we will make it ours," she said with conviction, "Good luck to you, my friend. Keep in touch, I will do the same," she smiled faintly, pulling Natasha into a short, but firm comradely embrace before letting her and her people depart when she desired.

Dokis made her way inside the headquarters, a wooden fort with not much to its name. She set the map on a table in the centre of the war room before turning to inspect her troops - at least they were taking out their aggressions in sparring, turning it into something productive. No speeches or formalities were needed - these men and outcasts were not used to them, and neither was she. Dokis stepped outside and encountered Mysha, her lieutenant, her berserker. "Mistress? We are ready, what shall I tell the troops?" she inquired. "You know how we handle unknown terrain," Dokis replied. "Scouting comes first. Split them into groups - one made outcasts, one made of men. Let each one be led by a hunter, the rest are escort. Explore the lands around us and get back to me with any valuable information. Tell them not to engage any enemies unless absolutely necessary - we are not ready for all-out combat yet," she ordered, having decided that splitting them up will prevent in-fighting, as much as it was possible.

Mysha nodded, and went off with the orders, leaving Dokis to turn her attention to their chief craftsman, Tarn - a man from the Blue Chest tribe, it would seem. His work on the headquarters was solid, strong. She was satisfied. "I want you to build a farm and get it functional before seven suns set," she told him, offering him access to supply carts and everything else he required. Then she went back into the fort and sat down at the desk, her gaze lingering on the map of this strange new land.

The journey to Gale Valley marked the farthest Natasha had ever ventured from her home in Outcast lands, and yet she felt no hesitation. Only excitement at the thought of what awaited her at her destination. An end to their struggles against the Maidens... The acceptance of both sides... These had always been Natasha's dreams or else she would never be coming out all this way, especially at the behest of such a frail old man as the SolFather.

And of course, it also helped that she would be working with Dokis. Natasha considered Dokis her greatest friend and ally and whatever forces the Eternal Queen dispatched, she knew that she and Dokis had overcome worse in the past. "I think... that we seem to be the only ones with doubt in our minds. Do you hear the men sing? It's as if they've already won. The SolFather's influence is powerful indeed to fill them with such confidence that they follow us to the valley." She says in response to Dokis' question. Her comrade's concerns about the lack of a male warlord she mulls over in silence, unsure of what to make of it.

At last, the time for them to part ways arrives. Natasha exits the carriage and returns Dokis' firm embrace, reluctantly letting go to say her farewells. "Best wishes to you until we meet again, friend. If no warlords of man have the courage to stand with us, than perhaps we will simply have to claim this valley and march upon the maiden's territory ourselves." She suggests with a confident grin. "I'll make contact as soon as I'm able. Take care."

From there it was a short journey to her own fort. Though she was dressed a bit too warmly for the climate in the valley, she did not shed her furs or complain, but instead the heat spurred her forward with an even greater vigor. Though her fort was not terribly impressive but it was well constructed and perfectly serviceable for the time being. With a little more work it would be more than suitable. After a brief tour of the building and it's surroundings, Natasha made her way back to where the men and her outcasts had gathered. She stood before them all and simply waited in silence for their attention. Her warriors caught on immediately as always, but it took a few minutes for the men to settle down, growing uncomfortable under the cold stares of Natasha and her outcasts.

Natasha did not ask for respect, she demanded it. Once she had everyone's attention she called out her orders. "Lorellai." Her fellow berserker stepped forward immediately. "Take a hunter and a few warriors and explore the area to the south. We must secure the area between our camp and Dokis. The remaining hunter and the rest of our warriors will scout to the east. Establishing mines in the mountains will provide us with a plethora of resources." Her outcasts mobilized immediately after receiving their orders and Natasha turned her attention to the men. "Men of the Blue Chest! Your first project will be to build us a barracks. I trust in your abilities."

With her orders given, Natasha saw her warriors off and then moved to oversee construction of the barracks.

Looking at the letter the Princess, the very same Princess who had given her this new life in the first place, Selia Nohan practically swooned to these words, the best part of it being the small note at the end, the Princess adding on "I hope this goes well for you."

Then came the words of Lillian Crest, those cruel words which always made her feel incredibly strange, the oddest part of it being how she never felt resentment over it, more then likely coming from the fact that she had just been brought up to think that way, or had just never experienced any of the same things that she had.

"I hope we can work together, and I am sure that the both of us will be able to lead our Maidens to a glorious victory here," Selia smiled weakly, keeping her letter secret while heading off to her fort, staying close to her troops the whole way while thinking about what she should build.

When she finally did reach her fort, Selia calmly ordered her troops, more or less skipping any big speech and instead going with, "I don't need to tell you why we are here, or what you have to do, but please know that all of you will do very well. Until then, First Recon Squad, please make sure to go north and scout out that area. Second Recon, please go and scout the area to the east of us. 1st Engineering Detail, please make some farms for us here. I will go research some new orders with our Black Guard member, okay?"

The valley is a lot more lush then the desert from which you come from. However, it does remind you of your time with the Red Hand Tribe. The Solfather had come to you personally to ask that you assist with this mission. It was time to show the fruits of his experiment. While your initial group was made up of men and a few Outcasts, a few of them also took part in the Solfather's experiment like you.

It doesn't take long for you to reach the southern most base (G11). As your party gets settled in, they get ready for your first set of orders. You also remember hearing of two other warlords who will be helping you. Whether you make a short detour to pay them a visit is up to you.

Lillian takes in the two reports, looking them over with a keen eye, news of the goblins and orcs made her wary, she'd need to chase them off or kill them completely before she can branch out properly, that delayed her and she hated that. Her let nothing show to her scouts giving thme a small nod. "Well done, get resupplied and some rest." She comments to both parties before she goes to check on how the farm is coming, Humming a little a sway in her step as she reeks with self confidence about her station and authority.

The news of this fairy Goddess though Avalon though left her wondering. "If Nothing else it's where I want to expand but first..." She hums and looks over the farm she'll need more for a larger force. Summoning her engineers she looks them over before nodding to one that was yet to do any work. "Okay, get what supplies you need from the cart and the workers and build me a barracks we're going to need additional forces to move into the valley." She comments with a shrug before looking over the rest. "Okay rangers, take the other three builders and the remaining worker with you and bring back anything of value from the abandoned village; Food, materials hell even the books will do as well if you can spare the space. Also if you can find a way I want the stuatues of Avalon brought here... It'll inspire the girls to know the goddess is watching and protecting them." She comments before looking at her blackguard and giving her a nod. "Dismissed." She calls before stopping her blackguard. "Not you, we're going to go clear out some goblins." She states with a smirk. "Gather the troops and meet me in the yard, We match to the greenskins to rid the valley of their filth within the hour." She orders before turning and leaving, getting ready for battle, hoping to show her leadership and inspire those around her as she fights with them.

Once the troops were ready she signals the march, leading with her black guard the detachment forward to the site of the goblins and orcs, ready to spill their blood.

Hearing that there was already a scouting camp of men this far up caught Selia Nohan more or less off guard, as she was expecting their to be some men nearby, but she thought they would be in the woods where there was cover, not the open area...unless they were having the same thoughts about what you could do in the open field as she was.

"Alright then, we will move immediately to clear the camp before it becomes a threat to the rest of our operations," Selia sighed, making all the preparations that they would need in order to actually make sure that the plan would go through, although this also lead to her thinking about what she would do if she had to replace any of her Maidens during the raid, as well as making sure that they had enough Maidens for future attacks. "Also, I want the construction detail to make some new barracks for us. I'm not entirely we have any in the first place, so getting a good set of them up and running will be the best solution for us."

Khepri look at his surroundings knowing that their are two warlords assisting made him more confident "I've learned battle tactics mastered the art of city defense and fortifications but none ever tested on the battlefield till now" Khepri thought as he looked at his his men "Gentleman and Ladies" remembering the outcasts "I am going to be honest with you we cannot lose this land doing so would be catastrophe for not only my tribe but all our tribes but I must remind you that if we win not only will we have the resources to build a city for evey tribe but to also have enough to talk with maidens and if not then a straight shot at their capital same goes for them if we lose and their version of peace talks is a cage and a collar something that anyone here wouldn't like we are a gamble that solfather had made and it is far to late the bet has been made and the dice has been rolled lets make it a good one" Khepri told his army with that said he decided to give the commands "Tribesmen work with crafters I want a farm right away and army marches on its stomach hunter's go with some soldiers search the surrounding area for anything thats a problem or resource try to be sneaky if you're caught run no fights till we know the full story of the area" with those commands Khepri watched his people in action I'll check on the other soldier's when they make an appearance for now I gotta make sure my people live and we all get to that valley.

"Just bears?" Dokis asked as she took in the first report and scanned it with a thorough gaze. "Yes. A lot of them," came the simple answer from the man who had lead the expedition westwards - a hunter in the middle of his years. His warlady set the scroll down. "It sounds like a good area, resourceful in two respects. We need it," she decides, knowing the number whom the hunter had recommended, though she was not certain it was enough. "Take the force, do thorough work and make sure they never return there, one way or the other. Dismissed."

The man nods and with a bow, he leaves the war room. Mysha hands over the scroll to her mistress, detailing her expedition to the catgirl village. ".. low guards, few rangers, an apparently strong leader," was the gist of it. Dokis tapped her chin in thought. "We could take them out.. but I would rather resolve this peacefully if possible. I shall write them a letter, and you will send it fourteen sunsets from now, after you scout the southern area. We still need more information about the land between us and our mysterious ally," she says, though Mysha herself seemed unconvinced. "Wouldn't the catgirls be more inclined to side with the maidens?" the lieutenant inquired, to which Dokis smiled bitterly. "They are a long way from the maiden side, Mysha. We are the closest to women that they could get.. unless they would rather be trampled under by the men under southern command, they would be wise to listen to us. Protection is what I offer.. for a price," she explained as she was writing on a parchment in swift but elegant handwriting. "Now go, and good luck," she dismissed her, and after Mysha and the others went on their way, Dokis went on to check on Tarn. The farm was finished now, solid and functional as she came to expect from the Blue Chest craftsman. "Well done," she congratulated him with a smile, though wasted no time as to tell him what she planned next for him. "I grant you the authority to form and lead a Builder's Guild. It will occupy itself in organizing the workers and craftsmen that will be sent in the field, as well as managing the resources needed to construct and maintain any structures that we will need." Dokis said, both surprising and honoring the man. "Get yourself an aide, you will need them. Your next project is a barracks. I expect you to do your task with the same diligence you have shown before," she finished, offering him a light slap on the back before nodding and returning to the fort.

Natasha listened intently to the reports her scouts delivered. She had them written down in front of her, but she always wanted to hear them aloud first. It was good to hear that the area to the west was so plentiful with resources and she would certainly take full advantage of that. On the other hand, it was a bit troublesome to think that maidens had already advanced so far that they were already at her doorstep. They simply could not be allowed to set up a base and separate her own forces from those of Dokis. "Lorellai. I'm going to have to send you back. Take all of our available forces and crush them while they are unaware of our presence. Capture them if you can but I don't want to let anyone escape and inform the maidens of our location." She commands her second with a confident smirk. They wouldn't be able to hold anyone for long without a prison but perhaps they could have a bit of fun with the captured maidens before they managed to escape.

Next Natasha turns her attention to the hunter who had reported back about the west. "Take a tribesman and begin hunting those boars. The meat they provide will be most helpful. Take the necessary man power to build a mine in that cave as well." She orders before moving out to tour her newly constructed barracks. With this, her army could continue to grow ever larger.

Khepri smiled at his new alliesthanks I could use all the help that I need then khepri remembered about the sacked women village "their's was a maiden village we found it was empty but I plan on turning into a barrack for the men as well as collecting more important stuff but do you know anything going on near the valley? judgeing by your scars your an expert hunter" with him asking the leader he asked his men to go off and check on the village for anything important and after that turn it into a barrack for his men with command in check Khepri wanted to scout out the other side "this will be slow but we must check every piece of this new land no stone must be left unchecked less we waste resources" he told his soldiers with that in mind Khepri wondered what the other warlords are up to or thanks to the village what the maidens are up to "a village so close I am going to guess their's going to be more villages like that not sure what to do when for now I best worry about the present and make sure my orders are done' Khepri reminded himself with that in the way Khepri told one his builders that after their done with the farm to build barracks for the new soldiers"we need more room for anyone start building after the farm these people are her to help but first they need a roof over their heads".

As her new recruits arrived, Natasha was there to personally greet them. They seemed a promising lot, though a familiar huntress seemed a bit preoccupied with staring off at the mountains. "Do you want to go there? Back home they may not have believed in you, but here things are different. I have faith that I can send you into those mountains and there you will find for us exactly what we need." Natasha whispers into the outcasts ear as she gazes with her into the distance. "Ah, and here is but a sample of the bounty this valley has to offer us." Her war parties were just now returning, bringing with them a plethora of boar meat and two lovely maidens.

Natasha returns to her place in her headquarters to receive the reports despite how obvious the outcome was. "Excellent work everyone! We shall feast tonight and for many nights to come with this. And as for our captives...." She turns her gaze to the two women who had been forced to their knees in front of her desk. "Let's show them a good time. Make their stay here as pleasurable as possible." She says with a grin, knowing Lorellai will know just what she means. The men will ravage them and once they are sated, her outcasts will show them pleasure that only one who is both man and woman can. As for Natasha herself... Well, the side effect of her berserker ritual gave her a voracious sexual appetite. Once she got started, it could be hours or days before she was finally sated. It was difficult with such enticing specimens before her, but she would let her troops have all the fun so she could continue to lead.

"Now then, on to our next assignments to be begun tomorrow. We will begin construction on a suitable home to keep our maiden friends safe. And also a farm to sustain us beyond what our hunt will provide us. We will also resume our exploration of the valley on the morrow. That is all."

Lillian looks over the field of battle her eyes scanning the scene as she sends her initial troops into the fray, ordering forth two of the militia in start the battle her eyes narrowing. "Ladies, Today is the first of many battles we will have to fight and from that know we will secure this valley, this is your first step into saving your lands from the vile bastard that is man!" She roars and unsheathes her sword. Pointing her weapon towards the orcs and goblins she sends the first two units in before. She watches over the battle humming a little as it progressing the blackguard being sent in next to bolster the troops. Watching as the battle turns even greater in their favor before she herself rushes in, bringing more Militia with her to relieve the tired troops, her cries and roars of rage showing no sign of mercy or pity for her foes as she charges into the fray. Pulling back once she is relieved by another militia before the one that went with her pulls back, the battle turning against her but it's too late the goblins and orcs have been out done. Watching them as they are routed from the field she walks the place of victory her eyes shining as blood splattered her armor.

overlooking the looting she nods a little, allowing her to walk back to her headquarters, her eyes cast down as she lets out a tired sigh, it had been an easy battle but she knew it would be harder as she progressed. "Why do men hound us so." She shakes her head before her eyes find the barracks smiling she nods a little in satisfaction before taking the report from the expedition to the abandoned village. Seeing the statues she nods a little. "Have them placed around at key points, so all may see the goddess watching over them no matter where they do their tasks." She states before moving into her headquarters. "I need more workers, I'm currently stretched to thin i can't progress as fast as I want." She states looking out the window to see her troops returning with the loot from their battle. "Good." She states. "let them rest, drink and be merry, enjoy the victory even if minor." She states before putting in plans to have more villagers brought here to work, six in total and two more militia, the battle while won wasn't good enough, she needed more. Nodding she has the orders sent to the barracks so they can begin. having a page bring her one of her engineers. "Build me another farm, we'll need the increase in food production." She states before dismissing her with a smile, being the rangers are brought to her as well. Head south to see what is near us, I want it scouted and nothing more if it'll be ideal for mining or farming then I want to know." with that done she retires for the day, battle weary and worn.

Orders
Scout E1 2 rangers
build farm 1 engineer 3 villagers
Recruit: 6 villagers 2 militia
