All of you arrive at South Bay Harbor after a long trip across the Seas, South Bay is just one of 2 main harbors of the country of Salvon here in Monreila. The city itself is a pretty big port, with a great castle at it's center which is home to Lord Agamon, along the harbor-side are many market stalls selling various things from armor and weapons to food and traveling gear. There is also a Tavern and Inn connected to each other for those travelers and sailors who wish for a place to stay but not long term, on the opposite end of the city is where the better quality shops and homes are, along with a smithy for all your crafting needs and a Apothecary for your healing assistance!
You were all brought here on different purposes most likely, but all of you may have common goals, whether it be unification or destruction. Upon disembarking the ship, along with other adventurers, immigrants, and other such people, you hear whispers and rumours of going ons here in the city:

The Local Lord of South Bay, Lord Agamon, is looking for people to send out on a journey to Blue Lake, what for or why? You'll have to ask him yourself.

The guards of South Bay need help finding and removing smugglers from the city and making it a much safer place to buy and sell wares.
Opposite of this, there is word that smugglers are looking for someone to help them stay out of the eyes of Guards and to flourish with their black market wares.

The Salty Seaman Inn(heh) is requiring adventurers to help rid her of rodent problems in the basement of the Inn, in return for free bedding and food for a night. Oh what fun and cliche'd!

The smithy needs someone to go to Mithril to get into contact with a Dwarven friend and then help escort said friend with a new supply of metals back to South Bay, in return you get one weapon or armor of your choice, master-crafted.

The Apothecary needs someone to go into the local forest and collect much needed ingredients for her work or someone in her care may die, she is offering Healing Potions once the job is completed.

Opal looked around the docks, noticing the multitude of people and not having the greatest if ideas of what to do. She wanted to learn more but the rumors of someone needing medical help could work in her own favor, especially if it brought her into the forest again. "I should go help, if anything it gives me a reason to learn more about he surrounding area so I won't get lost as easily, and maybe I can get some information along the way." She thought to herself. As a result Opal would then attempt to go and find the Apothecary, trying her best to not talk to people due to her own innate shyness and having no talked to people in a long time as it was.

Upon stepping off the ship, Canan immediately takes a pull from her Flask in celebration to getting off that thrice damned ship. She'd gotten used to a certain amount of freedom of movement due to spending her life travelling and being stuck in a ship, no matter how large, made her feel almost claustrophobic. She feels lucky that she always keeps a healthy supply of Ale on her or else some of those encounters on the ship could've ended very differently, what with having no where to go to escape them and not necessarily wanting to beat the dog shit out of them. People have enough problems with her just being a half-orc without her giving them more reason.

With thoughts of the awful ride behind her, she takes in South Bay. She'll have to leave soon in order to avoid agitating the locals with her race, but for the moment it seems a decent sort of place. Once she's got the basics down, she turns her thoughts to how to use the place to ensure her survival and pays attention to some of the whispers around town to figure it out. She doesn't know nor does she care why Agamon wants people to send away, but she doesn't see any immediate benefit for her so she'll pass until she gets more information. She doesn't care about the trade of a place that she'll soon be leaving, so she pays no attention to the needs of the guards and the smugglers. The Inn might be something to do in order to actually have a place to sleep rather than sleeping with a blanket under the stars, so she keeps that one in mind. She has very little interest in new armor or weapons seeing as she tries to use the set she has now as little as possible in order to avoid having a manhunt placed on her like almost every other orc or half-orc. Healing Potions are always nice if she gets too tired to use her spells, so she pays particular attention to that rumor.

With the possible courses of action sorted out in her head, she begins moving towards the Salty Seaman Inn in order to secure a place to sleep. That seems an important first step to her to take care of after all. She makes no attempt to talk to anyone around her, the treatment she received on the boat still fresh in her mind and not wanting a repeat of any of it.

Gene was feeling rather tired from the trip overseas. He wasn't a fan of deep water given his tendency to sink faster than anything else. Hefting his tower shield he decided it was time to see what rooms were available at the inn and for the simple job of killing some pesky animals he'd get a free night from what he'd overheard. No better price than free.
The inn and tavern would give him a good shot at finding traveling companions too since he'd need a group to accompany him on his way to the Eastern Kingdom. He'd heard rumor of the queen requiring aid and if there was one thing he was certain of it's that he'd rather assist a strong woman instead of any type of king.
Setting off toward the Salty Seaman Inn came first however and so he clanked his way in its direction causing a fair racket as he moved down the path.
One the way over he spotted a rather pretty half breed who's race he couldn't quite identify. The only thing that he did know for certain was that she was gorgeous. He quickened his pace for a moment clanging up to Canan as she moved toward the inn, "Howdy there, miss. Gene Strider at your service. I was wondering from where you hailed? I've not seen someone such as yourself before." He extended his hand for a shake as he walked beside her. "You have plans at the inn? I myself was headed there looking for traveling partners among other things."

Korvus sighed as he stepped off of the boat, tugging the lapels of his coat tighter. He very much disliked sea-travel. Honestly, if he didn't know better, he'd have sworn the crew was out to deliver them to Lady Pharasma instead of South Bay Harbor. Rotating his neck to get all the cricks out, he glanced towards the other passengers on the ship. Where he a more uncouth man, he'd have made a remark about how the boat appeared more a menagerie then a transport vessel from the amount of differing races aboard.

After making sure that his feet were planted on solid ground, he listened to the hushed rumours surrounding the area, paying attention to the Apothacary and the Inn. While the chance or healing potions sounded nice, currently his priority was making sure that there was a roof over his head for the night, and so, he headed towards the Inn. Not that he'd have much difficulty finding it, the amount of noise that clanking idiot in the armour was making, though the half-breed intrigued him. Despite having a religious upbringing, he was no stranger to the pleasures of the flesh. Lady Pharasma's religious beliefs sided with the dead, so unlike some religions, her followers were free to do as they pleased so long as they didn't try and force the tide of souls to her realm.

As for the lady's race, Korvus honestly cared not. People would be fools in life, but he was not going to be a fool who discriminated for what species brought you into the world. Sins of the father are not sins of the child and all that. Stepping up to the half-orc woman and the clanking fool, Korvus only said one sentence to the lady "I apologise for the treatment of the fools on-board, some idiots are too narrow-minded for their own good" before continuing to walk towards the Inn. It wasn't that hard to find. He just had to follow the sound of drunken singing, laughter and music

Ah, sweet dry land, how Yuki has missed it. No more rocking back and forth, no more bouts with seasickness, and certainly no more brains-in-their-dicks sailors being too desperate for a piece of ass. There were one or two that seemed polite enough to at least warrant her consideration, but they often failed to realize that she was watching how they behaved in her absence from the shadows...and quite frankly, she hopes not all seamen are such numb-skull flakes that only check their breath around the ladies. Then again, it's not the worst boat ride she's put up with; there was that one time a few crewmen tried to force themselves on her, to which her response was rather..."unsightly." If it weren't for the Cleric on board at the time, she might've wound up with a murder charge after that fiasco.

Ah, but that's all behind her now. Now, Yuki has a new dilemma: finding some work. Okay, let's eavesdrop around town, figure out what the travelers have been chatting about lately...

Blue Lake? Well, as profitable as work for the government usually turns out to be, Yuki's had enough bodies of water for one day, so no.

Guard and smugglers with their usual interests in mind? Maybe; stars know that the guards could do their jobs a lot better if they just hired a few private eyes. Ix-nay on working for the uggler-smays, though; as handy as black market connections could be, it's often better to have favor with the nobility, and the guards are the ones with more resources. Besides, aiding in organized crime dealings wouldn't sit right with her conscience, as funny as it is for a Rogue to have one.

Ah, and there's the usual rodent extermination at the..."Salty Seaman Inn?" Who came up with that name, the owner's 13-year-old son? Meh, whatever; free food and bedding is always nice, and Yuki has the stomach to just kill the same vermin that has many women jump onto a stool and scream their heads off, so it's worth considering.

Oooh, masterwork gear from the smithy? That sounds intri-...oh...Mithril. Damn, that's far away. Maybe the position will be open tomorrow, when Yuki has better chances of finding a group to make the journey with?

Last but not least, a temporary position is open at the Apothecary for gathering medicinal whatchamacallits. Of course, if Yuki takes that one up, she'll be doing it with a friend or two with more room in their bags; she's already got a pretty hefty load as it is, and the stuff the docs need might not be very modest in their weight.

So yeah, the best options in Yuki's mind right now would be playing exterminator at the inn, and helping the Apothecary out with their stock problems. Better yet, she can do both in sequence, and maybe even pick up a partner or two in the first job's location to help with the second one. Yay for using the ol' noggin!

With her present short-term goals set, Yuki starts heading off to the....ugh..."Salty Seaman," with the intent of signing up for their little deal. Maybe she can use that free night to find herself a nice fling partner for the evening, too? It's not like those sailors were very good options for a nice lay, and she'd rather not have sexual frustration pegging her mind in the morning...

Canan's eyebrow raises at the sight of not one, but two people willingly coming up to speak to her, one of which blatantly knows of her heritage. Due to her previous experiences with such a thing, her guard is immediately brought up but she makes an attempt at staying civil. At least until she knows for certain what they want. "I have no idea where I hail from. I'm fairly sure my name, Canan, isn't a hint of any sort. I've been a traveler for all my life, only stopping to enjoy a fine ale or gather supplies every now and again." She says, stating the truth without being 100% about it. When he says he hasn't seen someone like her, she assumes he's either completely ignorant about her race, a good thing in her book, or faking. Assume the latter, hope for the former. "Probably for the best I'm unique for ya then." She says no more than that on that subject. "Indeed, I'm planning on securing shelter for the night if nothing goes wrong. As for a traveling partner... well, who's to say what'll happen on the morrow." She shrugs, not 100% sure she wants a traveling companion yet since those never turn out well. They want 1 of 3 things usually: her virtue, her supposed muscle brought on by her race, or her head. She's only willing to give up one of those.

Turning to the second man who walks up to her, she nods her head in acknowledgement. It's nice that he feels that way, but until she knows it's genuine she won't take it to heart. "Using your definition, nearly the whole of the world are too narrow-minded. But get a few drinks in 'em? Then it seems like they consider every one their friend."

Del stepped off the boat and took in the city. Thank the gods for these special goggles or she'd be blind right now. As people glared at her she simply smiled and waved at them. Being a drow on the surface was a bit of a pain. She had to ditch her previous gear as it was too menacing for surface dwellers. it was easily traded in for her current garb. Hoisting her tower shield, which also held her longsword and dagger, she headed for the inn. Perhaps she could inspire some rougher individuals to help aid the medicine lady in saving a life. She could also use a free room, needing her current money for food and gear maintanance in the future. She would head to the medicine lady right after dealing with the rodent problem at the inn, lives to save and what have you. With that she moved away from the docks, attracting glares and stares along the way to the inn.

Once there Del stood up over most of the patreons to speak, slamming her tower shield onto the floor in front of her, making a loud noise. "Who will stand with me to help the medicine lady save lives? I'll personally slay the rodents in the basement of the inn and give up the free room and board to any who will help me." She exclaims, resting an arm on the standing shield and a hand on her hip. She was tall and muscular, and probably a bit intimidating to some. She bore an expectant smile, as if assuming people would be willing to stand up and do the right thing. Unfortunately this was likely not the case, especially considering her race and the problems they've had with the other races.

Gene smiles as Canan willingly goes through what he didn't realize had been a bit of an interrogation. It was kind of her to bother answering him considering the rough time she'd had on the ride over. He gave a nod to the coat wearing man as he passed sparing a sentence for the lady. Once the man passed Gene spoke up once more looking at the half-orc, "Well, Canan, I'd be honored if you'd allow me to accompany you to the inn and do me the favor of letting me buy you a drink once we're there and our rooms are sorted out. I'm sure you've plenty that you could share about your travels. Perhaps some of it will come in handy for me. I intend to cross to the Eastern side of Monreila and see what aid if any I may offer the queen there. A fair deal of travel lays before me I'm afraid."
By the time he'd finished talking they stood in front of the Salty Seaman inn and Gene moved to open the door for the lady, motioning for her to enter first.

"While I've never been one to turn down a drink, I'll have to pass until I know you better." Canan says, which translates to her as she knows he won't spike her drink. To her, there's little more heinous than using the drink of her god to commit horrid crimes and she's constantly on the lookout for it. Canan has had very little to do with chivalry in her travels due to the vast majority of men trying to scare her away or straight up kill her. As a result, she's rather confused when Gene opens the door for her, but goes ahead anyway since that's where was headed. "Bit of an odd fellow, ain't ya?" She asks with a shake of her head. She has no opinion about his goals or what he intends simply because she's fairly sure this is their first and only meeting, so she doesn't comment on how he intends to head to the Queendom.

Gene shrugs as Canan enters the inn, "I suppose you can say I'm a bit odd. Though I think I carry that description fairly well." He hefts his massive shield again and steps into the inn letting the door close behind him. He gives her a short bow and a wave, "I just find my self rather talkative around attractive women. After all nothing ventured means nothing gained, right?" With that he turns to take in the sight of the bar. He smile gets wider when he sees an incredibly tall woman leaning on a tower shield in the center of the room. He simply walks up next to Del, Slams his own tower shield into the floor (though making sure he doesn't do so hard enough to damage the wood beneath it) and does his best to imitate her pose.

After a second he looks up at her, "Nice choice of equipment there, miss."

Vorel slipping down the gangplank onto the docks as quickly as she can making her way past letting her clothes flap on the harbour breeze, quickly checking over her belongings she pauses for a moment to study those are disembarked with her onto the dock her eyes frowning at the sight of a drow her hands tightening as she smiles happily before wandering off to do whatever drow do on the surface. "Wonder how long it takes for that one to get a mob after her." the pyromancer grins to herself as she straightens herself out. ready to enter the habour city of South Bay. "Kingdom's can be awfully droll when naming things."

Heading towards the tavern if nothing she can get a room for the night. crawling around a cellar isn't her idea of a meaningful task. Even for one in her position. Stepping into the Salty Seaman Inn and heading towards the bartender. "How much for some food and drink along with a room?"

Del turned to the human as he also slammed down his own tower shield, complimenting her on her choice of shield. She grinned and slapped him on the shoulder. "As was yours sir! Would you be willing to brave the near by forest with me to save lives?" She asked, giving a warm smile despite being a drow. "I'll even handle the rodent problem and give the room and free food to you as a personal reward."

Gene takes the slap to his shoulder as his armor clanks in response. "I would happily join you though I think a free room is far to high a payment for the pleasure of your company while we work. Perhaps we could share instead? I'd be fine with the floor. If that's unacceptable I'll settle for the free food and give the room to you. Also as luck would have it I was already intent on helping clear out some rats so we might as well brave the basement together."

he hefts his shield and motions to the innkeeper, "Good man, if you'd show us the way to the basement, please."

Turning back to the drow and looking upward once more to avoid being rude, "So what brings you to Monreila?"

Canan's guard goes up even higher after the complement. After all, the only time she's ever been complemented on her appearance is soon before the one giving said complement tries to violate her. Her body posture indicates she's completely cut herself off from this conversation and is choosing to move on. Luckily Gene seems to have moved on to another woman. It's seeming everyone is here for the free room and food from the many people from the boat arriving here. She wonders if there'll be enough to go around or if she needs to go find something else to do.

Opal, with her inability to find her way inside a city, wound up instead outside of the tavern. "I'm horrible inside cities... Maybe the barkeep has a map I could use." She thought to herself as she walked through the door, she glanced around for a bit to see if anything stood out to her. She saw the Drow and a man talking to her, but other than the innate curiosity that plagued her she wasn't interested in them very much. She also noticed another woman that she had no idea what she was but seemed quite familiar to her, but she pushed her curiosity down enough to walk over to the bar and attempt to grab the barkeep's attention. "Excuse me, but do you have a map I could borrow? I can't seem to figure out where anything is around here."

Del waved her hand to dismiss the mans attempt to in negotiate. "Say no more. I would be honored to share a room then. I am just glad to know that the surface holds goodwill among its peoples." Her smile brightens into a grin once more as she hoists her shield and places it on her back. "Yes, please point the way sir so we may rid you of your pest problem!" She exclaimed enthusiastically.

Corvan led his horse off of the boat, carefully watching where he stepped and that people didn't get too close to his horse and it's saddlebags. He was fortunate that he had been able to escape with his equipment let alone his horse and make it to another land undetected. "We got damn lucky, right Ragnar?" He said, talking to his horse as he began leading him through the harbor. There seemed like there were plenty of offers for work around, which was good since Corvan had only had enough time to secure his own armaments and whatever he had found in the stables before leaving. He was going to need coin and food if he wanted to stay alive in this new land. He decided that he would head to the Inn first since food and shelter was his first concerns because unlike his horse he couldn't eat grass or comfortably sleep outside. "I'll just put you in the stables while I figure the costs out with the innkeeper. Just bite anyone who gets too close, alright?" He patted his horse on the head as he took his gold pieces out of his saddlebags and pocketed it.

By time he got to the tavern, it was already being filled with patrons. Hopefully most of them would be put off from talking to him by his armor and weapon that rested on his back. The last thing he needed was company, the first thing was money and supplies. He was silently registered that there was a Drow in the center of the bar, surprised that one was here despite their horrendous reputation as a race. In his own experience the few that he had met had only tried to kill him and this one boasted a fine array of weapons, so he'd keep his guard up. Probably got those weapons off of corpses of war., he thought as he sat down at the bar. "Barkeep! do you know of anyone in need of mercenary services? I just got off the boat and am in need of employment that will gain me either money or supplies. Any news of that sort would be appreciated. Also I need to stable my steed here so how much will it cost per day?" Corven had already heard of a few local jobs in need of hands but he preferred to get a long-term job or perhaps one that would lead out of town.

Listening to her surroundings she shakes her head. before turning to face Corvan beside her. "I hear the guards need a hand with some smugglers. If you help me i'll give you an even cut for the job and maybe keep you on as a bodyguard? I don't think i'll be staying in a habour city for too long that salt water breeze gets sickening quickly." She offers the man her face soft and smiling at him as she twirls her hair in a finger, her green eyes staring directly into his as she reads his response.

She leans in with a smirk. "Or we help the smugglers it'll give us access to some of the more lucrative items and equipment. Some of which will be cheaper due to their nature of being procured." She leans back letting the scent of her linger around the gruff man as she awaits his reply.

Corvan didn't turn to face the person talking to him until she mentioned hiring him as a bodyguard. He was shocked to say the least that this possible client was so radiant and beautiful. He unknowingly found himself returning her smile and staring into her piercing green eyes. "I heard the same thing, miss. I would certainly love to accompany you on the endeavor, especially if you are planning on keeping me around long-term." He couldn't help but smile, excited by the prospect of being employed, and to someone so "exotic". Not only was she exotic but she wanted to get her hands dirty by helping out the smugglers, the ideal client. "I wasn't planning on staying here forever either. We have more to gain by helping the smugglers so I'm up for assisting them." He whispered back as he leaned closer to her, to keep the conversation private and to get another whiff of her scent. "The name is Corven!" He said with a grin as he stuck his hand out to seal the deal.
