If you suddenly disappear out of thin air and lock up the group, I'll end up shadowing your character to relative safety depending on current events. If you fall off the face of the earth for more then a week your character will be retired and you'll have to make a new one if you want back in.
3. No needless PVP, sure you can choke a bitch, but it's kind of counter productive to your party xD

Story~

You find yourself drawn to your first REAL quest in a long time. A small town at the edge of a forest on the eastern side of the continent is being plagued by the undead. You've heard rumors that plenty of adventurers have gone into the forest to find the source of these undead and stop them, only to be turned into the thing they had once sought to stop, adding to the number of undead terrorizing the town. The prospect of a necromancer tickles your fancy. Necromancers always have the neatest trinkets. The town used to house over two hundred citizens. Now only fifty or so remain, mostly old men and children. You stand before the current Mayor of the town in the, rather small, auditorium of the town hall in the middle of the town. He is a stringy old man with a hunched back, deep wrinkles, very thin coarse white hair, and the nastiest case of turkey neck you've ever seen. He supports himself upon a gnarled, creaky walking stick. His clothes, though not as plain as the rest of the townsfolk's, are common, indicating they do not have a lot of money. But the big Fat Jewel he presents as a prize for anyone who ends their strife makes you salivate.

You all stand in a tall room with wooden pillars keeping the rafters and roof high up over head from falling upon your head. It's dark outside and the room is lit by many lanterns and a large chandelier made of rust kissed iron. The candle light adds to the gloomy atmosphere of the room making it fit in perfectly with the empty streets of the town. The old man stands upon the elevated section in front of a table housing several chairs. You assume that it is a place for a counsel of sorts to dictate the directions the town takes. He stand before you all with a solemn expression, or you think that's what it is. It's hard to tell with his crusted old man skin. He stamps his walking stick into the hollow stage, making a resounding gavel sound throughout the auditorium. It has surprisingly good acoustics. He then coughs into a hanky and clears his throat. With a shaky, wheezed voice, he speaks to you wall. "Brave travelers, as you well know." He takes a breath. "Our town is lacking in townspeople. The rumors of our town are true." He takes another breath, pausing a moment to be sure he has all of your attention. "Undead have been plaguing are quite little town, dragging our young people away kicking and..." This time he coughs a little while he takes a breath. You have doubts he'll survive the next winter. "Screaming....into the darkness of the forest. Some come back, but as undead, to drag away more of us." He pauses again, but this time motions one of the men standing off to the side to come forth with a box. The man opens the box and stands next to the mayor and shows you all the giant Cats eye ruby. It's practically the size of your head! "Don't get any, funny, ideas...This box is magical and blessed by our deity. You wont be able to steal it." He exclaims with a chuckle, eyeing the rogues and spell casters in the room. "You should wait till dawn to start out brave travelers." He says starting to turn away to retire for the night, but then stops and hobbles back to his spot. "It's dangerous to go alone....Take these!" He exclaims again, motioning to the other man in the room wielding another similar box, though not so ornate. He opens it and within is several pure white sprigs of an unknown tree. Tiny little albino branches. The man walks up to each one of you and tells you to take one, and only one. Once you all have one, he closes the box and rejoins the mayor. "They will turn an undead without fail, but only once. Use them sparingly, we cannot afford to give you more, I am sorry." With that he gives a solemn nod and hobbles off out of sight. You are all now left alone within the auditorium. Only two doors are in the room. The one in the back the mayor left in, and the one you came into in the front that leads to the street outside.

Garian listened as the old man talked, taking in what he was saying quietly, nodding his head here and there, and when they offered the branches, he hesitantly took one, looking it over and scoffed, "How are the undead afraid of these?" He said quietly, only those around him could hear him and then looked back up at the man before standing and looking at the others, "I don't know about you lot, but as the man said, I am going to go to the Inn, drink myself stupor, and then go to bed in preparation for tomorrow, feel free to join me." He said, bowed to the mayor, and then walked away, making sure his sword was still sheathed on his back. Never trusted those rogues, and his blade was worth a ton of money.

Kal had been bored with the meeting up until the old man had showed them the Cat's eye ruby, it had been here it seems. Kal had heard about the jewel in the past somebody had attempted to commission her into stealing it but after seeing it in person Kal was pretty sure she would never had given it to the client. But she had noticed an interesting problem from the get go, there was 9 of them here and only 1 Cats eye ruby. It's a shame such a jewel would only be worth it's full price in it's current condition, but being magically locked meant to even have a chance at stealing it she was going to need to help the village first. She sighed, it was just a little extra work to complete her take wouldn't be fun if it was easy, she grabbed one of the albino branches and made her way out onto the street, she looked up at the night sky and grinned to herself, most of the towns houses were empty due to the undead so it was time for Kal to go explore. "Now I wonder what valuables might be left laying around," This was going to be a fun trip if nothing else but her little hobby was probably going to be a little to easy, Oh well can't help that, Kal made her way down the streets looking for a possible mark of a house to rob.

Ol'gerr watched the mayor speak and present the gem and with a cock of her head she smirked at the size of the thing, how if she was to claim it she could easily set up for the rest of the life. Her hands ran over an arrow from her quiver, something she found a little more interesting than the old mans muttering ons. A little sigh escaped her lips as he mention how well safe guarded the thing was and any idea of stealing the thing was put away. She didn't care much for the Humanoids and their problems but if the pay was good then why the hell not? Her eyes breifly scanned the other mis matched numbers of creatures, eying up the "compertition". she grew very bored with the Old mans speach and just wanted to head out straight away though she knew half the other suckers would listen to advice and wait til morning. as the guy passed the white branch to her, she scanned it curiously wondering what to make of the thing before shoving it into her back pack, doubting that she'd actually use it but neverless it might come in handy.

Finally the man stopped talking and she could finally leave this hall and maybe go for a drink and when Garian spoke of heading to the local boozer she was first to walk over to him. looking the person up and down before nodding a little. speaking in perfect human dialect, even for an Elf.

"okay sugar but drinks on you hmm? it'll be a chance to learn who I can trust and who may just get in the way"

She gave a cheeky smile and walked past him and headed to the main door.

Marisa sat on her bear cub while the mayor spoke, not so much for the convenience but for the height advantage, the last thing she wanted was to be trampled by someone who wasn't looking where they were going; as she paid rapt attention to the village mayor's plight thousands of question ran through her head, the most prominent ones being the fate of those who didn't come back to the village, were they assumed dead and just didn't come back? should they even be worrying about survivors? she had heard much of the tales of the undead attacking the village and the fate of those who tried to stop them, were they likely to find some people still fighting for their lives?

The Cat's Eye ruby presented little interest to her, after all she was sent here by her deity to purge the land of evil not make money, though perhaps she could present the gem as an offering to her goddess, she gave a worried glance around the room she could she the other warriors almost salivating over the prospect of obtaining such a rare gem and Marisa didn't exactly like the idea of going toe-to-toe with them in an all-out brawl, and there was no chance she would put Akiko in harms way for her own greed.
She looked over the small white branch with increasing curiosity, what exactly made these branches special? what tree did they come from? regardless of her constant questions burdening her mind she slipped the branch into one of Akiko's saddle pouches offering a quick whisper into her ear "Just in case you get into trouble girl" giving a pat on her bear's golden fur she watched the mayor take his leave before turning to the doors.

As Garian and Ol'gerr mentioned on getting a drink she spurred Akiko after them quickly trying to gather their attention as she passed "Hey! i don't want to be responsible for your death because you were too distracted by a hangover, please try to not get too drunk before we set off" and with that she left them alone seeking a place of solitude to offer a prayer before going towards the inn in hopes of getting enough sleep.

Kathryn remained silent throughout the old man's little speech, taking a branch as instructed and stowing it away on her person. Leaning upon her massive greatsword, she began to mull over what had been said. There was definitely going to be a lot of undead... Might not have been the wisest idea to go it alone this time around, like she was used to in these sorts of situations. Even if the gem intrigued her and she wanted it all to herself... Blasted greed. It was trying to blind her to the obvious danger that was present in the forest. Plus, she had something she needed to take care of before she could even think of going off on her own. After all, if there were too many foes, she could always use that twig, right?

Stepping towards the back room, the warrior woman would rap her knuckles upon the doorway, awaiting quietly. She'd been having an issue with her pack-mule lately, and needed to get the poor thing checked out. Sure, he was cheap when she bought him, but it seemed he got sick over the journey. Which was a pain in the ass, pun unintended. Her greatsword found itself slung onto her broad back, arms crossing after her knocking. Time to wait for a response.

Sasha watches and listens to the old man, hands on his daggers beneath his armored mantle and cape which draped around his shoulders. His eyes gleamed as he saw the gem but he was concerned more for the safety of the town folk, sure he was a thief but the man had standards! After the townsfolk safety had been assured he would most certainly make an attempt, but first things first. He waited as everyone started to depart, taking his piece of twig and pocketing it. He was looking forward to a good nights rest before his adventure started but idly wondered if he should really wait. He strolls out after everyone else glancing around, getting a good look at the other adventurers.

Drakonius seemed more interested by the white sprig he had received and began studying it as Skiz'zik, his viper companion slithered up and around his neck to rest. He then pocketed the plant within the pouch his holy and mistletoe and looked around at the other and thought to himself "great this is what i have to work with, did the elders make a mistake sending me this far." For some reason he had his doubts about this group. A couple of them seem to want to drink their problems away and possibly hamper the progress in the morning. Heeding the mayors warning he headed for the Inn, though he would rather stay outside and sleep, he sat in the common room by the fire planning for tomorrow.

Praedy wakes up in a warm room to the sound of some old man talking. She couldn't really remember why she was here, something about running away and then wanting a nap... or something. The concern quickly left her mind as she saw the big gem, it was shiny and distracting. Other people seemed to like it for some reason. Praedy slowly begin to make her leave of the room as all the townspeople were distracted, unfortunately she seemed to have picked a bad time, as she is trampled by a group of adventurers leaving towards the tavern. Good thing she wasn't feeling particularly acidic right now. "Ow, ow.. Um excuse me, you're stepping in my body. Ow, please stop...

Camilla takes her sprig and stuffs it into a pocket in her belt, giving it little thought. She was too busy wondering at the ruby's significance to worry about weakly magical trinkets. If it was a bauble then she would happily take her share of it's value and leave, but such things had a tendency to be enchanted, and well enchanted at that. If that was the case, she might have to find a way to walk away with the thing for herself. For now, though, it was out of reach and there wasn't much point in obsessing over it.

Her attention turned to the rest of the volunteers. They were an odd bunch, to say the least. She already didn't like the halfling cleric, though she rarely got along with men of the cloth so that wasn't any surprise. Some of the more agreeable members of their party were heading off to the bar, so she turned to follow them, figuring that a good drink tonight might be just what she needs. Leaving the hall a few steps behind the group, she was stopped by a voice coming from about ankle height. She looked around for several moments, trying to determine where the voice was coming from before realizing that what appeared to be a puddle was actually a green gelatinous thing that seemed to be moving on it's own. "Hello? What sort of thing are you?"

Fumiko sat through the speech only half paying attention. It wasn't that she was bored but that she was bored and that she didn't trust this place. It was strange, why would the undead take only a few victim at a time. One possibility was that the undead were under commands not to destroy the town, or maybe they weren't hungry. So the first thing to take into account is that every undead was increases it's number 1 per day which means on day 7 this small little town would be completely converted into a ghost town. While the adventures would in the short term shorten this time frame up, in the end it would make the death rate curve increase. So assume this fact Fumiko surmised that either not everyone that is fallen turned, not all the turned were turned are eating every time, or there is another source of flesh.

Returning to reality she examined the Gem the best she could (Apprising Roll 1 bottom of sheet). Jewery like this isn't really her thing but who would want such a huge gem anyways. Of course it's value in material amount along with type and quality did make it something of worth to sell, but at the same time it's not something she'd expect as a reward. This stunk like the flesh from a undead cat's ass. She did not like this and while yes it would be worth a small fortune, it was more likely bait if anything.

She focused on the conversation again as it came to the tree branches. Taking one she put it under her nose she sniffed not exactly trusting it. For such a poor town she wasn't sure how they could afford such wealth. I mean sure these were basic protection from a threat but still... these were basically wands; primitive yes, but still the same functionality.

There wasn't anything left for her to do here, so she left for the bar for some sake (Not that this dreie town would have it) and some information. This set up is just so strange that she didn't believe it. Sure she bet undead were attacking but these attacks were either more wide spread or some one had plans for not only this town but the adventures that come to save it. But hey what does she know? Fumiko sadly doesn't have specialized knowledge on the undead, just a general overview.

[if she gets to the bar without interpruption] ("Hey Bar keep, i want some Sake" Fumiko says in a annoyed and bitchy manner")

Insided TownHall, Auditorium: TCEL.

Everyone Part1:
You hear a shrill screech of terror. It's a womans voice. The scream resounds again, and again. Likely the sound of a woman being dragged away by something, you assume undead.

Outside TownHall, out front:

Everyone: You barely make it outside before you run into a group of undead humans. There is 20 of them, spread out a little upon the street. Soon they notice you all, and are now shambling towards you. There is no way you can get passed them without risking getting attacked. It would seem you arrived at an un-opportune time, this night apparently being one the undead decided to attack on. You are unsure as to how many are in the town, but your plans to relax or explore have been cut short, the undead barring your path and putting a wrench your plans. It looks like you are going to have to fight your way out.

Inside Townhall, auditorium:

TCEL: Though you wait, you get no reply, it would appear you were too late to ask them for help with your donkey. Then you hear the screams.

Everyone Part2: Soon a couple more screams come from within the town. It appears they are taking a few more townsfolk into the forest.

As soon as the scream began Sasha had drawn his bow, shrugging his mantle arrow already notched and at the ready. He shrugs his shoulders, making sure his mantle doesn't get in the way. He quickly glanced around looking for a possible route around the undead seeing if there was any way to get around in the group confusion that would ensue, maybe save whoever had been screaming. He takes aim, double checking if there was anyone in the way before he'd let one fly towards the group of undead.

As soon as he heard the screaming, his eyes darted about and saw the undead "Great the abominations are here already" he muttered getting his shortspear ready. Skiz'zik slithered along his arm and behind his shield as he readied it. He circled around to the closest one and readied himself. "Hya" he said as he hurled the spear at it and began closing in drawing Viper's Fang.

"oi! after these are destroyed.. its still your round!"

she was annoyed as she was eager to get a nice drink from the bar, something to warm her up and help sleep along with gather information but alas this was cut short. with a face palm she shook her head questioning to her self something about "drink" and "undead bastards". no matter she knew the drink would have to wait, the undead were swarming nearby and were grabbing at people with their grubby hands. she raised an eyebrow and watched some of the others combat the undead creatures, shaking her head a little dissapointed. though she had little care for the others, she needed a few human shields for the adventure

"amateurs dont die please.. its all about a quick shot to the brain.. killing with no hesitation.. easy targets to those who know (favoured Enemy Feat)"

with a chuckle she shook her head again, moving into a better spot. she removed the bow of her back and gently ran her fingers along the rope, humming softly as she looked up the undead monsters picking out a target. she finally chose a target and lifted the bow up, her eyes squinting as she aimed down the length of the arrow. she whispered in elvish "this time stay dead" and with that she unleashed the arrow hoping it hit her target as it flew through the air with speed.

Kal heard the screaming and turned calmly to look at the source of the annoyance, Ah, the undead of cause who else would spoil my lovely night of raiding empty house's of what loot and valuables are left. She sighed as she pulled her bow off her back and drew an arrow from her quiver, notching it against the draw string she drew the bow into position resting her hand against her cheek so her eye could look down the shaft of the arrow. She took in a deep breath and aimed towards one of the zombies, releasing her breath as she relaxed her fingers on the draw string she took her shot.

"Nevermind" Camilla said to the blob as she stepped through the creature towards the moaning and groaning commotion of the zombies. Already several of the others had turned and were taking shots at the undead hoard, but bows had a tendency to be ineffectual against rotting shambles. Something more forceful was needed, and already it was Camilla's time to set herself above this mismatched band of common adventurers.

Her right hand went to her sword and pulled it from it's sheath, though that wasn't the focus of her attention. She was particularly eager for this encounter, and glad that she didn't have to wait until morning to test the new limits of her power. Her left hand glowed purple as she gathered the wild energy suffusing her soul into a single point, then took aim at the nearest zombie and let her Eldritch Blast fly. (ranged touch spell)

Motoko: Despite the huge target, your arrow doesn't quite seem to have enough power behind it. It hits the nearest zombie to you in the forehead, wrenching it's head back a little, before falling harmlessly to the ground, trampled by the shambling horde.

dndman: As you throw your spear, it makes a sad arch, and hits the dirt, the butt end rolling up to smack a zombie comically in the face, but doing no damage, just made him look silly.

Kitty: Your arrow strikes true, but it was to shallow, simply sticking into the chest of the nearest zombie to you. You spit in disappointment, and remember the best weapons against these things is a slashing weapon. Maybe you should put your bow away and draw your sword?

Gory: As your arrow stricks the Zombie, it pegs him in the shoulder, hampering his arms movement. Seem your arrow was the only one that did anything! 3 damage to zombie #14.

Lynxy: As you charge your spell, the gems in your adornments visibly glow faintly, hardly noticeable especially in this situation. With a grin at the sensations you get from them fueling your magic, you unleash a devastating ball of magical fire. It strike the first zombie you see and his torso is blown of. Sending flaming zombie chunks into the rest of the swarm, sadly nothing catches, but that sure was satisfying after seeing so much fail from the rest of the rabble here. Critical Hit/instant kill. (Yes, I do these for spells that use Attack dice xP makes sense if you acid touch someones jugular right? xP)

Zombie positions. Zombies 20 through 16 are in front row, 15-11 second, 10-6 third, 5-1 fourth. 20 is dead, 14 has 3 damage.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Same initiative score as Blue, so I'm gonna post. Don't judge me, I'm impatient and wanting to SWING MAH SAWHD. Which will have to happen next post because of D&D actions, hrgh!

Blasted old man. He'd already retired. It'd have to wait until morning. However, a shriek gave rise to the warrior woman turning on her heel and bolting full speed across the hall and through the door to witness the scene outside. Zombies were already attacking? Seems she wouldn't be getting any rest tonight... As soon as these undead blighters were dispatched, she'd have to stay up and keep watch over the forest. Hopefully recruit someone else to aid her. There were already a few people fighting- a majority of the group of adventurers. All of them at range. Bloody Hell, if the zombies caught up with them, they'd likely be unable to actually fight back.

Guess that was her job- getting between the zombies and the squishier folk.
