=I=

It is the year 999 in the 41st millenium, and mankind is in a war for survival. The Imperium of Man ecompasses the entirety of the Milky Way galaxy, from the galactic core to the dim starts at it's very edge, and all the billions of stars in between. Not a single corner has gone unexploited, as any world evern remotely capable of supporting Human life has been colonised, and countless pre-Imperial civilisations braught under the yoke of Imperial control, or ahnialated and replaced with one under control of the Administratum.

Most citizens arn't aware of the threats from without that continuall press the defences of the Imperium - the barbaric Orks who live for war; The Eldar who would secrifice handfuls of Human worlds in order to protect their own dwindling race, and their raider kin who strike out and take entire populations into slavery; The lifeless Necrons who view all things living as an abomonation; The forces of Chaos and the Daemons of the Warp, who strike out from hidden bases to kill and destabilise the Imperium; The Tau from the Eastern Fringe and their philosophy of the Greater Good, swaying Imperial worlds to their side; And the Tyranids - aliens from beyond the edge of the galaxy who'se sole purpose is to comsume every living thing in it's path

Even those that are aware of one or more of the alien threats are generally in the dark about the enemy within. Mutations can strike anywhere in the Imperium, and are a sign of Chaotic taint. Rebel groups who desire to be free of the Imperium constantly rise up in an attempt to overthrow the Planetary Governors. Cults, either Daemon worshiping or Genestealer led, attempt to destabalise planets and make them easy prey and, worst of all are the wars fought with loyalists on both sides, the only reason being political in nature.

It is within this last category that the Imperial Inquisition fall. They are split into three categories - the Ordo Xenos, Ordo Hereticus, and Ordo Malleus. Each one investigated one threat to the Imperium, be it aliens, daemonic influence, or heretics. Of course sometimes their areas or jurisdiction overlap and it's not unknows for all three branches to go after the same target, if it happens that a rogue alien psyker has raised an army of deamons and is threatening the Imperium with them, while disguised as a Human. However, while the orders may squabble with each other over exactly who should be doing what, each order also has an internal spit between the Purists and the Radicals over the best methods used to dispose of the threats. Purists advocate the use of Imperial technology and have absolute faith in the arms of Man to fight back any threat, whereas the Radicals suggest turning the weapons of the enemy on themselves - after all, what better way to kill an alien their own weapon?

You are part of one if these Inquisitorial warbands, primarily under the banner of the Ordo Hereticus. It is your duty to battle the foes within to ensure the continuation of the Imperium of Man

[=I=]

PLANET: Ardan's Hope
CATEGORISATION: Hive World
SUB-TYPE: Farming
POPULATION: 3-Billion

[=I=]

It's raining. It nearly always rains on Ardan's Hope. It has no stategic value, nor is it a good site for a shrine. The quality of it's ores are poor, so it has been classifies as a world dedicated to the production of food. Specifically, meat. The native animals have been the subject of husbandry, and the world itsself is a major exporter in the sector.

The landing shuttle, gaciously supplied to you by the Inquisition, touches down at a little space port, usually used for moving goods by bulk freighters, and is in an out-of-the-way location. You have recieved word that the capital city of the world, Bogenhafen, is to be investigated for signs of taint. However, by the look of the weather outside and the lack of available transport for ground travel, it might be a little while before you can get to the major city - the Inquisition was very specific that the lander only be used to get you to the surface so as not to aouse too much suspicion.

The area around the starport is lightly populated, and consists mostly of storage silos and meat lockers. However, there are a small cluster of civilian buildings which, from your current vantage point, appear to be a customs office and what passes for a local bar...

Garian walks out of the shuttle, aware of his surroundings from his time in the Guard. For this job, he didn't wear his helmet, storing it in his pack on his back, and his carapace armour was underneath his long coat, and pants, essentially wearing two layers of clothes, one over the armor and one underneath. He made sure that his lasgun was tied securely under the coat and started towards the local bar, mainly to find transportation.

Harriett was among the first out of the ship, the red robe drawn up closely over her head masking the nightmarish assembly of machinery under there, save for the five telltale Mechadendrites -- each fixed with numerous power tools and other esoteric devices -- sprouting from her back, and rising between folds in the robe. Like snakes, they hissed at the new surroundings, one tentacle in particular surveying a series of metereological tools to the air to acquire the air pressure, humidity, and temperature and inject it into the lifeless cogitator which had long replaced Harriett's brain.

Her face, as usual, was cloaked by shadow, but the pale, almost painful emotionless expression there -- not even a hint of a smile, nor discomfort, nor even an opinion of the planet on the face -- was still visible.

She kept her arms at her sides and walked rapidly down the ramp, shoving past several of her colleagues. As some of them would know, the Rite of Pure Thought had completely devastated her personality... courtesy and regret was unknown to her now.

She paused, suddenly, and just... stood there.

Not a movement.

No indication she was doing much.

Somewhere under her red robe, one might make out the telltale shape of a Conversion Beam Projector being shifted around.

Of course, on very close inspection it might become apparent she was running a careful diagnostic of her own electrical systems. From her foot to the floor, a small arc of crackling electricity jumped. The Electoos grafted to her made her lethal to even touch, should she choose to electrify herself.

Rouge would want the possibly electrified person with great intrigue. Although she was seeking her mission details on this world. If it was not to simply purge it because of the animal husbandry. Rouge would try to find someone who was husband to an animal.

Matt steps out of the lander as well, wanting to keep pace with the leaders of their "pack." His armor appears similar to that of your average Space Marine, although it isn't quite as bulky, and the head-piece is noticeably different from the company standard. The front side is mostly covered with the same type of plating as the rest, with a pair of eye-like lights imprinted on the front, which house various technology used to "paint" the landscape ahead onto the helmet's internal display. This simulates the same result as a simple face-span visor for him to look through, but without nuisances like solar glare getting in the way of a clear sight. Should the sensor technology fail, he can always "peel back" the frontal plating of the helmet for an actual visor underneath.

With his Boltgun ready for action, the two Plasma Pistols holstered on his sides, and the Power Sword resting on his backplate, Matthew files into group position just behind Garian, but on his left flank, as well. Hearing Kanamei's joking, he remarks: "In all fairness, it's a planet where life revolves around agriculture. I think they're more focused on harvests and seasons than politics and tourism." He chuckles lightly at the end, knowing that a little joke or two is rarely bad for morale. After all, if the capital is indeed tainted, then they may need all the morale they can get...

Garian gave a little chuckle at Kanamei, pulling out an Lho-stick and started to smoke it, "Heading to the bar, gotta be someone there that can give us a ride." He then turned around to look at the lot, "Try not to give yourselves away, don't need our cover blown and have people talk about having the Inquisition here." He told them and then looked at Matt, "Especially you, put some heavy clothes over your armor or something." He then looked at Claire, "Hide your blades, no need for having people talk about a bladeswoman." He told her and then sighed, running a hand through his hair before pulling out the stick and blowing out some smoke before heading off towards the bar.

Rayhan was the last to leave shuttle. Unlike others, he wasnt armed or armored. He wore a simple grey robe and on it a tattered cloak hiding his form. Under his cloak he carried a backpack, which contained rations and some other items for his survival. He came out dragging a large container on its wheels. In it was his gear and armour. To watching eyes, he would look like a mutant, carrying an omnious cargo. And actually he wasnt compeletly unarmed. A bolt pistol hang out from his belt, hidden under his cloak.

Rayhan looked at some of his fellow acolytes. Like one of the guardsmen said, whose name was Garian if Rayhan remembered right, they needed a transport to get to the hive city. But first thing first. He looked at his fellow marine Matt. Dont you think it would be hard to walk around with your armour on brother? You know, it kinda screams, "Hey! I am a space marine, look at me." You should be discreet you know. Rayhan said.

The stream of binary escaping Harriett's lips was unintelligible even to those who could hear it, with how quiet she was. It wasn't hard to identify her as a Techpriest, given her robe, the mechadendrites sprouting from her back and her general behavior. As such, she gave little in the way of a reply to the debate about remaining covert. That being said, she kept her weapons tightly packed for now.

Though, the arcs of electricity crackling from her body onto the floor dangerously were the biggest giveaway she was...not too comfy to approach. Her self-diagnostic continued on for a good minute, several square feet of floor of the landing platform beneath her lethally charged with electricity for the duration, but at last she appeared to relax, and looked back up.

She stepped forward, slowly, making sizzling noises where she walked as the residual electrical charge escaped to the floor, finally escaping when she bumped into a tall lamp post and a lighting bolt of energy leapt to it, creating a spectacular light show as it burst into sparks before sizzling around. Unperturbed, Harriett walked on and paused near the midst of the group, not so much as glancing in anyone's direction, but obviously attentive.

"Ah yes, how silly of me." Matt remarks after people told him to be more "discreet." Bit of a shame, really; he never liked having to act like he's a simple commoner...but oh well, if it's for the mission...

Matt presses a button on his armor's right forearm plate, and it suddenly seems to...vanish? No, it doesn't disappear, it simply folds itself up into a backpack-like device, which he hides soon after with a cloak that he had prepared for rough weather. It seems that his armor is built for portability as well as a leaner size, though the technological nuances of how it did that are a bit too complex to explain here. Just imagine that the whole suit is made of many smaller components, each shaped in such a fashion that it can "fold" on and off like that.

Anyhow, Matt's clothing underneath is comparatively simplistic. The cloak covers most of it, but what can be seen between the gaps of it are a pair of camo pants, a navy blue shirt, and a pair of leather boots that one might associate with hunting activities. "I dunno how the engineers made my suit able to do that, but I'm sure thankful for it now."

If you are done, lets get going. Rayhan replied to Matt, his face barely visible under hood of his cloak. He then made his way through platform towards local town's bar.

Having acclimatised somewhat to the environment, those of you that decide to do so enter the bar. The metal door slides open with a hiss, and the smell of cooked meat hits you straight away. The interior is well-lit and appears quite well cared for, given what resources are available. There is very little in the way of advanced technology, mostly older electrical appliances and burning wood for warmth. The owner of the place looks up from his seat behind the bar, and seems quite cheery, given the weather conditions outside.

The owner is quite a large man, apparently accustomed to eating his fill of the local produce, and barely fits in his brown leather jacket. He has a holster strapped to his left arm containing some sort of modern firearm, but as most i=of it is hidden, it's hard to tell what. Probably either a laspistol or autopistol. He waves at you, beckoning you inside. "Visitors! Please, do come in! We don't get many visitors here these days. Now don't be shy, there's plenty of room!" He seems more interested in meeting potential new customers that what you actually look like

There are few other patrons in the building. A woman dressed in the finest of clothes sits near the centre of the room with two people of decidedly less imprssive attire. Both are are female and armed - one rather young and blonde, the other older and more well-built with red hair. She is also wearing a well-used carapace breastplate, and has a longlas rifle slung over one shoulder. On his own in the corner is a thin and screwny man who looks very tired, and has a number of dataslates on his table. Finally, propping up the bar, is the unmistable form of a Space Marine. His armour is ash-grey in colour with a few gold highlights. His right shoulder-guard has been remodelled to resemble the head of a bull, and there are several Tyrranic fetish trophies attached to his armour. Strapped at his waist is a two-handed Thunder Hammer, and a bolt pistol in a holster on his chest. The other striking thing is the pint of local ale which he downs before looking you all over.

Rayhan quickly took in the details, and realized something odd. What was a space marine doing in such a place? And locals didnt seem to mind him. Still, Rayhan wasnt going to risk being discovered. He was sure of his disguise, as long as he didnt do anything to blow it up. So instead he approached to the owner of the bar, draging his cubic container behind him. need drink.... something strong..... will pay Rayhan said to guy, trying to impersonate a sub-human/mutants speech.
