Ateria - The banished - IC. Open.

Hello, and welcome to Ateria. A world where sexual assaults is a legit way of warfare. A world, where death is reversible as long as you have a soul. A world currently filled with chaos, under the greedy god of the dimension.

Once again, welcome, to Ateria.

Setting/plot:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Throughout the centuries of every single dimension's existence, the gods have been carefully making sure that no one would know the secrets behind the universes. Some gods have prohibited the existence of magic for their realm. Some the existence of science and deduction. These things that were prohibited became unwritten laws for every dimension. Those breaking the law, written or not, are banished to the dimension of the void.

The void is a lonely and godless dimension. A place where no creation is strong enough to create, a place where eternal black and white shades fill the ever-lasting space.

This was not meant to be forever. One day, a greedy and lustful god decided to have some fun with the creations banished to the void. Being of a more open mindset than the other gods, he created rifts in the void that connected to his very own dimension – Ateria – to the void.

Like any other dimension, Ateria has its unwritten and written rules. These differ from other dimension, because they add instead of prohibit. In total, there is only one law that counts for every corner of the dimension.

You can steal a persons soul through sex. To do so, you must be the dominating part of the act. When you do so, you will glow so that the other part can have a chance to resist in time.

However, the god is often known to meddle in the affair of mortals for the one or the other selfish purpose.

Our adventurers (your characters) have gotten themselves banished from dimensions quite unlike Ateria, and have all ended up in a make-shift village – Stark naked in a hallway filled with people. Behind them, a rift that leads back into eternal life and boredom.

For more information on the village, see known locations.
Also, in case you're wondering why your are stark naked, it's a universal rule that creations cannot bring things from one dimension to another.

Known areas:
The Village
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

History:
This place is quite literally known as 'The village'. Many years ago, no intelligent life would pass by the place where the village lies, until the rifts started appearing in the world of Ateria. Then, from one day to the other, people poured in. These people of different races, quickly decided to create a village around the rift, in case more would fall through. And in time, it turned out to be a decision that would help many generation of 'void-people' as they are called when they first arrive.

Design:
The village has steadily grown, and new settlers often build makeshift homes on top of or on the sides of the more well-built homes. This makes the most of the city seem like a architectural mess, but due to dedication, it also gives that feeling of 'home' that most of these people long for.

Functionality:
Marketplace. Random merchants from different cities will appear here, and a lot of the cities social life occurs here.
The Rift – Bar. The Rift is a bar where you can get a drink, a casual chat, and perhaps some more relaxed sexual interaction, you know, without all that soul-stealing. The rift allows newcomers to stay for a week.
Welcoming hall. The area where the rift is located. Many helpers stand ready to clothe the newcomers, and answer any questions they may have.
No more functions have been discovered.

Surrounding area:
The surrounding are is filled with forests. The nearby forests are kind and forgiving to those who enter unaware of Ateria's dangers. However, stray too far, and the beautiful forest life may start to try and rape you.

Size:
A circular area with the diameter of about 30 minutes walk.

Distance and direction:
From The Village to other areas:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Not yet known.

Known creatures:
A creature named 'zombies' exists; Nothing more is known.

OOC:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

And you're good to go! I will have a story-teller comment on the story from the sidelines to give it a better 'feel' to it. It's a bit of an experiment, so bear over with me. Also, this post presumes you have already read about The Village and the setting!

Storyteller:
The arrival of new citizens to The Village wasn't strange. It was how and why The Village was constructed in the first place. This day was no exception. Three people bumped through the rift in the welcoming hall, and all of the nearby villagers hurried over to them to help them get clothed. It had long ago been decided to place hay around the rift, even though some of that said hay disappeared into The Void now and then, but they eagerly replaced it day after day. This was to make sure people wouldn't smash their butt, or at worst, their head, right into the stone floor of the welcoming hall.

Let me tell you just who it was that flew through this rift. Just who it was, that is now able to continue to age - for one doesn't age in The Void.

Saeki. A female Aerenheika from a far away dimension. Her people being bestowed with magic, she is no different. When it was she was banished is unknown, for time moves by its own will in The Void. Why she was banished? I'll make it short. To attest of the faith of her mother to a local minor deity, Saeki was 'sacrificed' into The Void, not knowing if her daughter would make it or not. Selfish? Who knows. Such details are not for me to know.

Rushing over to Saeki's aide was a young woman; Seemingly much younger than herself. She had the weirdest green hair-color, and gray generic clothes that barely seemed to pack any heat. In her hands was a similar piece of clothing. "Welcome to Ateria..."; She almost whispered. It was probably gods gift that no one seemed to be affected by Saeki's inherent powers... (Luck roll; 6 for initiation. Nothing was initiated.)

Ahriman. A male figure who's existence have long been forgotten by most. Compared to The Void where there was no gravity, Ahriman can now once again feel the weight of his immense soul. The shift from having no weight to weighing more than what felt like a tonne made him cough up blood, his breathing troubled by the need to actually use his lungs against the ever-persistent gravity; For not even breathing is needed in The Void. (Luck roll; 4 for initiation, 10 for effect; Effect = -1 temporary constitution. Trait used: Damaged. )

When the blood flung out of Ahrimans mouth, three male and one females rushed over to his side. "Get Hejiel!"
It was rare for people to simply cough up blood for no good reason, so most were alert. Last time a similar event had happened, it was because a man was banished while dying into The Void; Once going into a dimension where time passes normally, the fatal blow from before he was banished continued being as fatal as it had been then. They didn't want another dead person from The Void lying in the welcoming hall. Such events depresses people who have once been in The Void; For they all know of the hope that comes true when entering through a rift.

Caesle. A female Auk from yet another dimension vastly unlike this one. With an aquatic elegance and webbed hands, the Auk can easily be said to have ties to underwater races in their evolutionary past, no matter how that evolution may have happened. With a broken vision, she's forced to use her magic to see an image of the surrounding world. While doing this, a lot of other things can be perceived. The most noisy of these perceptions, was the perceptions of the nearby magical energy. It was almost dense enough to be seen instead of sensed with her extrasensory eye... Who or what could it be coming from?

While seeming somewhat distracted by the floor, a young boy with a stick in his hand walked over to Caesle and looked almost surprised when he saw her. "Woaaah! She doesn't have fingers!"; Clearly, the web connecting Caesle's fingers have caught his attention more than her naked skin. An older woman approached her and laughed gently. "She does, dear."; she knelt closer to Caesle with some generic gray clothes that seems like that of a vagabonds attire. "It's all we can offer."; The lady said while reaching out to give Caesle the clothes.

Is this just three new adventurers to perish or cherish in this world like anyone else, or will they change Ateria? Chances are they won't - but, I've been wrong before. Between them may be the next savior. The one who will kill the local threat; The local menace; The local devil... For hope is ever-lasting for The Void people. This is their one common trait... Well, mostly.

Re: Ateria - The banished - IC. Now opened!

Saeki squeezed her eyes closed. An electric spark kindled in her chest, making her face twist in fatigue. The dizziness in her head was hard to forget; she was only just barely aware she'd been roused back to consciousness, but found herself keeping her eyes closed, as if pretending she were still...lost in the Void?

The realization she was alive and breathing was just enough to break her from her reverie, and she let out a breath. The air felt sour, but clean, and she could feel her hair poking at her face. She was somewhere, rather than nowhere. Eventually, she opened her eyes, feeling the crumpled hay beneath her. She felt very vulnerable right now, and when she looked down, it became apparent. Her soft skin was bare, but out of unconscious reflex it seemed she'd drawn a hand across her chest and crotch to preserve her modesty. But she never wore armor, so it didn't make much of a difference. If anything, it was the awareness she had no arcane wards protecting her pincushion figure from whatever sharp objects were near that roused her to awareness. She looked around, blinking. A small stone room, populated with other naked people and others in gray clothes, who looked like they were waiting. She shrunk a touch. Had she been enslaved?

"Eh...finally here." she said dumbly, more or less trying to flex her tongue to make sure she could still speak clearly. She could.

She drew her head up to face the woman who approached her gently, offering clothes. Automatically, the young Aerenheika accepted, snaking her arms out to grab the gray clothes and press them against her body. Near her, a somewhat intimidating looking man coughed up blood. As well, a one-eyed woman with blue skin.

No, she wasn't a slave, but she had no idea what she was now.

The woman's introduction rung in her head. Ateria? Not Helenredi, obviously. Unwilling to look into the past just right now, though, she slipped into the new clothes as quickly as was possible and immediately felt safer. She rubbed her shoulder, a small blue arc of electricity crackled between her finger and her body. Well, not electricity; arcane energy in its purest form. Even being lost for Aerenaira-knows-how-long couldn't suppress her powers, but she was a touch too distracted to focus enough to cast any sort of spell.

"Thanks." was the first thing she said. She couldn't think of much else. The young Aerenheika rose to her feet. The clothes she had been given were pretty minimal. Some underwear, with a close-fitting gray tunic and some sandals. Nothing special, but certainly better than nothing.

"Could you...eh, tell me where am I'm standing now?" she questioned, trying to ignore the man coughing blood and the boy poking the one-eyed merwoman with the stick. She had just swallowed a bowling ball of racing thoughts and confusion to keep her from panicking; she really couldn't worry about them right now.

Caesle blinks her malfunctioning eye. Before grabbing the clothes. She care not about their condition or color... many aesthetic pleasantries have lost their meaning to her these days. They covered her curvascious body, this would suffice. Turning her attention to the curious child she scans his blury form to gleen whatever information about his species she could. The energy of this realms was different than her previous one... she would have to get used to seeing her. Most noteably odd was the dense smoke of some sort of energy. She holds her palms over her eye in soft meditation as she attempts to cleanse any negative energies affecting her vision.

Storyteller:
But it wasn't going to end there. More were on their way. More than there had arrived in a single day, since back in the ages of the creation of The Village. Was it an omen for evil or for change? Who knows. Three people were to be brutally honest already a lot, but four? People not occupied dealing with Ahriman paused for a second, glaring towards the rift. Another one was coming through to land on the hay in the welcoming hall; Or, well, actually not. "Get some more people to help from the pubs and the market!"; a man shouted to the boy with the stick. Shocked with the sudden outburst, the boy dropped his stick and ran away. "Y-Yes!". He left Caesle alone with the lady that gave her the clothes. "Ask them to bring more clothes with them!"

Erayne. From the grand dimension of the heavens, grander than most angels are led to believe, Erayne has fallen. Fallen through The Void. Fallen for an unknown amount of time through the nothingness, into the hands of another world; Ateria. Plagued by an unknown past, plagued by the pain from her back, plagued by amnesia - Erayne stumbled through the rift with an immense speed. Being lighter than a feather, Erayne was thrown several meters across the room, and instead of landing on the soft hay, she smashed her face first into the stone floor of the welcoming hall!

As Erayne's body was about to flip over, as if to continue flying through the room, a man jumped in and caught her cannon-ball body, before any more harm was done to her. "Boy, you don't weigh a thing!"; He brushed off some dirt from his clothes and noticed, that in the jump, a small wound had appeared on his right knee. The wound from his knee didn't bleed as much as the wound from Erayne's face... (Luck die; 1; Effect: -1 temporary constitution. Trait used; Lightweight.)

From Saeki's point of view, a naked female was flying right above her head. The lady that had been giving her the clothes was initially about to say something, but the flying female won her attention. After a couple of seconds of confusion, without looking at Saeki, she finally replied. "Yes. You're in Ateria, in The Village's welcoming hall..."; Still not looking at you, she mumbled to herself in disbelief. "What's going on?".

From Caesle's point of view, the blur from the magic surrounding her only became stronger, as a surge of wind rushed through the room. The voices of confused people filled the air. The air became denser as people got more and more nervous, their alarm, subconsciously raising their magical output as if to be prepared for anything. Not that anyone would be aware of this but you; It seems to be subconscious after all. The boy with the stick had paused on the spot, only to run away. It seemed he was helping someone else of the people there. Meanwhile, the lady next to Caesle seemed to be perfectly calm. "Hah, well have you seen a living cannonball before eh? I bet she's got herself nicked already!"; The lady giggled a little, a blurred smile showing on her face.

Era's eyelids fluttered open a fraction. Ow. Why the goddamned hell did her face hurt so bad? And her back. Ouch. She couldn't be an old granny now, could she? Those types that went around complaining about their back and poking people with their walking sticks. Her immediate fear of being an old lady made her sit up abruptly and of course crack her head against something hard. Ow for the second time.
"Ow..where the hell am I?"
Era opened her eyes fully, rubbing a hand on her face where it hurt the most. She somehow knew that wound would be okay..she could regenerate that much, definitely. Wait..regeneration. She had that? Ugh. Nevermind. Probably would remember that later.. Her hand trailed away from her face, stained a bloody red. Era blinked at the gory sight, then tried to get to her feet..and realized that something was holding her down. Era glanced over her shoulder to directly look into the eyes of a man with a rather red-looking chin. She blinked, then glanced down. Yeah. And she was naked..
"What the fuck?!"
Era pushed the man away with surprising strength, raising a hand to try cover her boobs. The stubs that remained of her wings brushed against the wall as she backed into it.
"Ugh!"
She cried out, bent double with pain. What the hell were those things on her back? They hurt so much.. She winced, trying to recover her composure. Get a decent knowledge of your surroundings first, at least..her name was Erayne Wanderer..and..yeah. Nothing else. She vaguely remembered herself screaming though..screaming as if the pain would never end. What happened..?

For Saeki, the moment separating when she opened her mouth and went a featherweight young woman rocketed over her head was spent lingering over the peculiar hair color of the girl who'd brought her clothing. The shade of green wasn't unlike that of her sister's. But then again, the hair of the Lielcivena family wasn't particularly normal.

The young Aerenheika tilted her head up as a figure skirted the top of her head, the blur flying like a missile into the floor (Saeki winced in sympathy as the telltale "thwomp" of the impact was audible) before into the arms of a man that had picked a convenient place to stand.

A spark ran through Saeki's hair right as the figure of the flying woman touched it, and the pale blonde of it and her eyebrows shifted into a brilliant orange. Damn magic.

But she didn't even seem to notice the presumably common occurrence (she was, after all, an Aerenheika and thus numbed to dealing with weird magical effects) as she was too busy looking obliquely at the bleeding and confused young woman who had stolen the attention of just about everyone in the room. Blinking, she noted the feathery stumps which were found on the youthful looking woman's back. Winged creature no longer. Saeki knew she had a tale to tell, but this wasn't time to ask.

Though, she still did feel the courage to step forward to her and say:

"Hey, you okay? I'm Saeki. I just got here too."

Probably not the most artful thing to say, but for some reason it felt incredibly momentous that she knew her own name and wasn't stuttering or fainting in confusion. Huh, maybe the feeling would rub off on the other girl, who actually reeked of an odd brand of magic energy. Inside Saeki, it was eating up a lot of her focus to suppress the growing backlog of questions and confusion, but she was disproportionately clear-headed compared to the others right now, it seemed.

Casel had enough with all this wierd dimension and all these strang people dropping out of nowhere. Trying to gain a sense of normalcy, she turns to the woman making light of the situation and asks, "So I take people randomly drop out of other dimensions in this place quite often?" Things have been strange for Caesle ever since her transformation. She was not used to magic, and her own kind completely shunned it.

OOC:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

If my style changes, like suddenly not including a storyteller or something, don't be alerted. I'm just experimenting. Right now though, I feel the storyteller is working its magic. From now on, he will be commenting on larger events from the sideline, where more specific events are like I'd usually do; Just stating what happens and who does what from different peoples point of view. Point of views will be written with 'you' in the center. Storyteller will write in third-person most of the time.

Erayne's point of view:
The man seemed surprised when you forced your way out of his clutches. "Ooh, that's one livin' cannon-ball for ye!"; his laughter filled the room, since most others were silent. Not much later, three men from The Village came running with clothes in their hand. As they realized only one person would be needing the clothes, they suddenly sprinted towards you, the first to get there laughing arrogantly. "I got here first!"; His voice sounded like had he won a competition. He probably had. He placed a gray vagabonds' attire next to you, with a smile on his face. "Here you go."

Saeki's point of view:
You see the same as Erayne; but also:
The lady behind you isn't saying much. All she says is "... This is common in Ateria..."; in the form of a lowly whisper.

Caesle's point of view:
"You bet, miss!"; the lady seemed happy to chat, a broad smile appearing on her face. "If you look behind you, there's a strange little crack in reality. It's nothing flashy, but if you look for long enough, you can actually look into The Void! Scary, eh?"; The lady laughed. She reached out for Caesle's hands. "We should get you into the village as soon as possible. It seems things can get unpredictable around here...".

Caesle focuses her eye onto the chatty woman and states simply, "I see things in a way you should never understand." She gazes at the lady's hands observantly as she reaches at and grabs her owns, thinking this a strange way to lead someone someplace else.

Era looked up at the girl that had approached her..a girl whose blonde eyebrows suddenly colored themselves a bright orange. Wow. Not something you saw everyday..
"I must still be dreaming..those eyebrows were weird."
She sighed, rubbing her eyes. Era glanced back up at the girl that had introduced herself as Saeki. Nope. Still orange eyebrows. Era glanced up as three men came sprinting towards her, their footsteps thudding heavily on the floor. She got to her feet quickly, tensing at the sight. Their next actions were a bit more confusing, though..one of them placed a rather nondescript set of gray clothes next to her and she quickly snatched them up, pulling the under and pants on. She tried to pull the shirt over her, but the fabric brushed against the feathery stumps on her back and she winced in pain, instead simply using the shirt to cover herself.

Now that clothing was settled for the time being..
Era glanced at Saeki and the various others around her, a few men obviously from the village and two others that had seemed to come through..that portal thing? Well. They seemed friendly, at least..
"My name is Erayne. Era, for short..where are we?"
She directed the question to Saeki and the men gathered around.

Pain, sweet pain. Compared to coldness of void, the feeling of emptyness, pain was a welcome change. Ahriman tried to gather himself though only thing he could do was cough more blood. It felt like someone was tearing his insides. I am alive.... i am alive once again. he thought.

Ahriman barely recognized others rushing to help him. The crippling pain was slowly fading, he started to recognize his other senses. Cold ground touching his body, worried yell of someone. A smile crept into his face before another cough hit him, filling his mouth with blood again. It hurt, but Ahriman didnt care, he was alive once again. In flesh, weak but still, alive...

Caesle's PoV:
"Oh really? I wonder how that must be like... What is it that you see? - or well, I guess you won't tell me when you're putting like that."; the lady giggled. Walking casually out of the building, her body swaying playfully, the sun's light embraced you for the first time since you had been banished to The Void. "We're all from The Void here. Or descendants from people who have come from The Void. Most of us don't have a lot of common. We're all different races. Coming from different cultures. Different personalities. Different goals. Here, we've come together in order to create a life for those from The Void who simply wants to have a second chance at life. Not all Void People are like us. That's what we call ourselves. Void people. It's also what everyone and everything else is calling us."; The lady scouted the village, her hand put over her eyes to block out the suns light so that she could see clearly. "There's a bar over there. It's called The Rift. Over there, there will be some people who will introduce you to the different aspects of life in Ateria... Even the less fortunate ones.".
Suddenly, a strange man with a strange wooden box went past them. His aura was different. Something was odd about him. But what?

Erayne's PoV:
The man that had rushed over to you earlier is the first to respond to your question. “Ateria. You're in Ateria, in our welcoming hall. You're one of us now! The Void people.”; He says this with great pride in his voice. He waves you to follow him as he gets up. “Come, I'll lead you to the bar. Therefor be some helpful people over there, I'm sure of it.”; He looks towards Saeki as well. “You can come as well, Saeki.”.
In the welcoming hall arrives a strange man, carrying a wooden box. One of the men attending to Ahriman shouts “Hejiel, hurry!”.

Saeki's PoV:
Same as Erayne's.

Ahriman's PoV:
The men around you tries to hold you down and to get you to hold still. “Don't move. You'll just cough up more blood.”; one of the men shouts. Then, in the next moment the same man shouts “Hejiel, hurry!”. A strange aura approached you, and suddenly, the strangest words came out of his mouth. “This man needs no treatment. Leave him alone and get him some clothes.”; one of the men whispers something in the ear of the strange man, another silently protesting, still holding you down but with a weakened grip. “But...”; He mutters.

Pain slowly faded, leaving Ahriman. He was able to breath again, which he did so, filling his lungs with air. The copper taste of blood was still at his mouth which made Ahriman axcited. When was the last time he tasted anything. And his sight now fully returned, Ahriman focused on his surroundings. He looked at the people around him, it was a new world.

But first things first, Ahriman turned to man holding him down. I am.... alright, my friend.... I am sorry if i worried you. Ahriman said, trying to assure him and sit up.

Caesle smirks at this exuberant young woman. Ah, youthful excitement. A stab in the back and a banishment to a cold dark hell draing her if that years ago. So they called themselves Void People? It almost sounds like some sort of racial slur. quickly placing her hand on her guide's shoulder, she point in the direction of the strange man and asks urgently, "Who is that?"

Ahriman's PoV:
The man looked down at you, a worried glimpse passing through the innards of his eye. He reluctantly let go, and you were finally able to get up, even though gravity still were pulling you down. In front of you were a strange man, his entire head was covered in a leather attire. It didn't take long to notice that something strange must be hiding below the mask – for the leather was moving minimally from time to time. His hands were the same, and so was his outfit. The man went closer to Ahriman, his leather-covered face suddenly moving around hastily, small bumps in the leather here and there. Everyone around him gasped in shock or held their breaths. Why?
“I can see it. I can see everything. I will be watching you. If I see any reason to worry about your intentions... I will kill you.”; As he turned away from you, his leather mask suddenly settled down again, the movement completely vanishing. People around you stared at you afterwards, confused and doubting of your reliability. “Treat him like one of our own for now.”; “Y-Yes!”; most of the men around you replied, almost in a choir.

Caesle's PoV:
“Oh that?”; she smirked as she pointed at the man behind him. A man with a strange leather attire was standing in front of Ahriman, the person that had earlier on coughed up blood. The leather was covering his face and his hands, as if to avoid showing his skin.

“That's the village shaman. He's one of the strongest and wisest people in the entire village, but not of The Void people. For there are also those who didn't want this peaceful life, you see. They traveled away and they still do. Some don't even want to be recognized as one of ours; But to us, they will always be one of The Void people. So will you!”; A small cheerful laughter escaped the ladies lips. “He keeps that leather-attire on most of the time. His real appearance is... Strange, to say the least... So, coming to the bar?”; her ever-persistent energy soared from her innards.
