w40k: Autumn Soldiers RP IC

Postby That_One_Guy » Mon Oct 03, 2011 3:32 am

I remember my father, Ingrid Trock, once telling me of my ancestor and how he held the Hive City, turned fortress, Chicagoa, throughout the Siege of Terra, it was also said that he had been given full honor of seeing the powerful Emperor of Mankind before he was placed on the Golden Throne. My father told me that the Emperor told my Ancestor, Edgard, that the Autumn Soldiers will be needed in the future, and that we must be ready for when he calls them into battle.
Funny how life has a sense of cruelty to it.
I do not see anything on this planet, protecting a hive city from the cruelties of an Ork Waaagh, we are few, numbering only in 10 million strong, the Orks have numbers far beyond that, a hundred million, maybe even as high as a billion, we were refused to know the numbers, except that, as the Autumn Soldiers first foray back into combat, this was a sense of Duty and Honor.
I see neither of those, I, and probably many other of us Guardsmen, see only survival. For we are only a few men, faceless in the eyes of the countless others.
-Guardsmen Mordecai Trock, 9th Regiment Autumn Soldiers

Garian Jorell, bloody and bruised from training, limped over to his bunk and fell onto it, groaning from the workout he was forced into, the training had gotten harsher, he showed no pain to his instructor, who he forced to see as an enemy, but as soon as he got back into the Bunk Area, the pain, the fatigue, everything caught up to him like a fething kick to the gut. He closed his eyes, letting his ears hear everything, the other guardsmen talking, bed shifting underneath his weight, and the roar of the mighty engines of the ship he was stationed on, The September Rain, the pride of the Autumn Soldiers battlefleet and the Flagship for the 9th Regiment. As he started to drift to sleep, he wondered where the ship was going and, above else, was hoping that this was not a training run and that the Autumn Soldiers will finally see some actual combat.

Usikar Malik, Commissar of the 101st Platoon of the 9th Regiment Autumn Soldiers, stayed mainly in the command room in the center of the September Rain, displays showing the training for the soldiers, keeping them in top shape, the wapons bay, and, behind the Commissar, a realistic 3D Holograph of a planet, playing Hectic transmissions from the Planetary Defense Forces stationed on the planet, and cries from the Government body asking for assisstance. Usually, an Imperial Guard ship traveling from one System to another would take a little over three weeks to get to, but the Autumn Soldiers will be able to arrive in just 4 days, and that is just from Traveling from Terra. Usikar sighed, the darkness that enveloped the room hid his appearance from anyone who enters and the dark helps him read the readouts on both the displays on the ship keeping an eye on the guardsmen, and the Planet Display that is still currently receiving transmissions planet side.

{Command Room}

Junior Commissar, Celeste Quellin, Walked in and started mocking the platoon she had just trained. "Well sir, these men won't last through a little sand in their boots. Let alone the fight we're going into." Forgetting her conduct, somewhat she said, "Sir, Junior Commissar Celeste Queelin, Reporting sir!"

Ba'al Cryspin followed the junior commissar in "i heard that, though i do agree about some of the men in fact most of them barely knew the right end of a gun" he said "whoops forgot my place" quickly straightening up doing a salute to both the junior comissar and comissar "Private Ba'al Cryspin reporting and ready for orders"

She pulled out her power sword, brandishing it near a position she could cut off his genitals from. Then she taps it lightly on his left knee and said, "Indeed, Private." Smiling sensually at him, but that was her regular look. It played usually quite a mind game on her guardsmen, on whether she was mad or not.

Usikar turned the displays off and the lights came on, he turned towards the two, "That is enough, Celeste, I can't have you killing one of my guardsmen before they get a chance to prove themselves." He said and looked at Ba'al, "Ba'al, is it? Go to weapons storage, pick a lasgun, and go onto the training range." He told him and then turned to Celeste, "Celeste, I'd like to talk to you when he leaves." He told her. With the lights on Celeste and Ba'al can see the stern look on his face, he is well over a hundred years old, but he might as well be 40. His hair is greying on the sides, but above that is raven black, as well as his eyes, he wears the standard Autumn Soldier uniform, but his coat is more elegant and has Silver along the button line in the center.

"sir yes sir" Ba'al yells heading out of the room and down the hall finding the storage and finds a lasgun and a powerpack and loads it in and then heads down to the range.

When Ba'al gets to the target range he readies it switching the safety switch to off and aims. Taking his time with aiming he fires off precise shots into the center of the targets, and then lowers the lasgun. "hmmm a little light for my taste" he says remember the rifle he made so many years ago.

Katherine Kanowitcz stood in the fireing range, her lasgun aimed downrange. She hadn't noticed anyone moving into or out of the fireing range, concentrating as she was on improving her skill. The weapon felt heavy in her hands, but she had learned long ago how to brace it properly for stability. Three shots were fired off with the distinctive whine-crack sound of the weapon, followed by a few seconds of silence. "Aww, fething hell! Too much spread AGAIN!" she shouted to no-one in particular. If anyone had been listening, they probably knew Kay-Kay well enough to recognise the outbursts as something she had picked up after joining the Autum Soldiers. Muttering a curse under her breath, she flicked the lasgun back to single shot, and lined up again with the target

Ba'al heard a woman to his side yell about the spread of her lasgun shots. He saw no reason in not trying to help her. He flipped the safety of his lasgun on and sat it on the table in front of him, and quietly walked over to her. "Need help there?" he asked her. Wanting to help a fellow comrade with markmanship.

[FIREING RANGE]

Kay-Kay squeezed off another shot before she heard someone speaking to her. Shot was off centre. Fething hell, she's off her game today! She let out a disgruntled sigh and looked up at the man who had approached her. "Fething auto shots are spreading too much! Stupid lasgun keep dipping on me, so yeah, if you got some pointers..." Although she had been in training for two years, and proven to have a natural weapon-handling skill, she was still getting used to the regimen and accuraccy required for a first line guardsman

Ba'al stands next to her "im sure i can do my best helping you with your problem." he says thinking he might know whats wrong. Even though auto bursts shots was not his preference, but he had some universal firearms advice for her "dipping down eh? If you know by how much. aim higher by about that much." he said observing the lasgun she was holding "if that doesnt work i could look at it for you see if there is anything i could with the gun site or even the weight of it if its too heavy for you, but practicing single shots firing fast also works to getting used to its weight. For right now aim higher and ill help see how you do"

She watches the guardsmen leave. "Sir, I wasn't going to kill him. Just relieve him of his member, if he continued to act up. " She stood putting her power sword away in its sheath at her hip hanging near her legs. "What is it you wish to speak with me about, not that I would deny you Usikar." She changes her look towards him to look more of military conduct., as she would like trifle with her superior; As she would a guardsmen or sergeant.

Command Room
Usikar looked at her and then turned towards the Planet Display, which was still up and transmitting, "Do you hear that?" He asked her, indicating the transmissions, the sounds of the PDF crying in agony and fear, "That is the Autumn Soldiers first combat location, the planet's name is Golthin, a planet with 3 major hive cities, 2 of which have fallen." He explained and then looked at her, "The other platoons are already being briefed, I want you to gather our platoon and tell them only the essentials, we are going to be defending the last Hive City from the enemies, numbering just a little above our strength, they will build trenches, set up emplacements, and put up the Basilisks in firing range. Is that clear?" He asked her.

Training Hall
Garian entered the Training Hall again, still a little bruised, but not as much as earlier and went up to the Drill Instructor, who was only smiling and ready to have another go and began fighting again in hand to hand combat.

She looked at him, then smiled sensually. "Sir yes sir..." Sighing deeply... Mutters as she walks away, "Guess i'll have to tuck them in at night too."

[FIREING RANGE]

Kay-Kay shugged and then rubbed her right shoulder. "Aim higher, yeah. Suppose that would compensate for the moment. It's just.. why couldn't they produce a fathing lasgun that could be easilly used by, y'know, solders not OD'ing on 'Slaught, or something" She swung her lasgun back up and aimed carefully down the sight. "I would strip mine down, but the resident Mars boys might get a bit pissed". She let off a shot. Just off centre. She grumbled to herself something about not being perfect, and put the safety on the gun. "So. Any idea what we're flying into? All I got was a 'Hey, we're going to war. Here's an Uplifting Primer to read', and then shuttled up here"

[Firing Range]

Ba'al shrugged and sighed "unfortunately you know just as much as i do" he said being truthful "i was with the commisar and junior commisar to see if i could get more information" he honestly prefered to knwo what was going on before doing it. that way he had time to prepare, but he was adaptable. He saw were her shot had landed "see that helps a lot doesn't it" he said with a smile "maybe the higher ups will let you modify that lasgun if youre having so much trouble or hell they might find you a las carbine somewhere., but auto weapons arent my preference. i prefer long range precision shooting." he walks over grabbing his lasgun switching the safety off and walked back to the firing lane next to kay-kay and takes aim and shoots off one round and hits the same spot she had hit. Then he switched the safety back on and said "whatever we are in for i know we have to be ready for it"

[FIREING RANGE]

Nodding as much to herself as the other guardsman, Kay-Kay raised an eyebrow in suprise as his las-shot his the same part of the target as she had hit. Single shots seemed to have more prescision after all, but there was something undeniable about the power of spraying away on full-auto. She glanced round as one of the other female guardsmen walked in and started to practice on the range next to them with great enthusiasm. She leaned against the seperator between her booth and the male guardman's, taking a short break from practice. "I'm guessing you're part of the 101st. That would make the Commisars Malik and Quellin. Did she strike you as kind of... predatory?" Kay-Kay kept watching the shots from the newcomer. Nod bad, a bit raw, but if rumor was right they'd soon be thrown into the cruicble of battle, and have plenty of time to either get better or die

[Firing Range]

"thats what these tags say anyway" Ba'al says his hand reaching the dog tags around his neck "and yes she does does seem a bit aggressive, but i figured all commissars are like that"he said setting his lasgun down and leans against the panel with his arms crossed watching the other female guardsman shoot "the names Ba'al by the way" he says having forgotten introductions earlier.

[FIREIG RANGE]
"Ba'al? Kinda like the planet? Interesting". Kay-kay fumbled with her own tags for a few seconds, her mind wandering to what it would be like to grow up on somewhere like Baal, and to be constantly under the watch of a chapter of Astartes. She shook herself out of it and gave a little smile. "I'm Katherine, but most everyone calls me Kay-kay. Supposed to be part of a rapid-response Armoured Fist squad, but we'll see how that turns out"
