"I think I see something! It looks like a.."
Mirasaki trailed off as her mind struggled to comprehend what she was seeing. She had originally seen a vague silhouette of a human moving in shadows, visible only by the almost non-existent emergency light. The main lights had then flickered on shortly after Mira had started looking..as if some vengeful god of electrical appliances and lightning had deliberately fixed the lights to let her witness the horrifying event transpiring a couple of metres just below her..

Her initial thought of a person down there had been correct. There was a woman. It was the thing that stood behind the woman that left Mirasaki speechless, disabled by a mixture of fear and shock. The only word she could've used to describe that...thing..it could only be called a monstrosity. A monster.
And it was raping the poor wretch. It was a horrific scene that she couldn't tear her cybernetic eyes away from. Something told her that this would be the last time that the woman would be ever seen by another human. She would keep watching till it finally ended.
Mira kept watching. Watched as the monster climaxed with a bloodcurdling screech, flooding the wretched woman with so much of it's seed that her belly visibly swelled up, pregnant with the monster's cum. The creature bit into the victim's shoulder and she let out a moan. Not a moan of suffering nor pain..but one of pleasure. Mirasaki closed her eyes as the lights began to flicker again, their lifetime finally spent.
Submerged in darkness, the woman giggled as the thing carried her off, a sound that shook Mira to her very core.

"Am I in a nightmare?"
Mirasaki asked herself that question. Over and over. She should've never been that foolhardy, injecting herself with that syringe. Now she was stuck in some facility with those monsters..and she didn't even want to think of what would happen if she was overpowered by them..
She'd..rather die, that was for sure. Better death than to suffer such humiliation. But she wanted to live through this. Get back and find Mom and Dad..it was the only thought that lent her strength to keep going. Mom and Dad was all that she had left..
"L-Let's keep going, Doc."
Mira took a deep breath to steady herself as she once again dug into her pocket for the flashlight, switching it on and probing the darkness ahead with the light. She started crawling forward, suddenly very conscious of any sound they were making. She wanted to stay hidden..hidden from those things. And she definitely had to move forward..couldn't stay here forever.
Sleep unbeknownst to I, this one lives in perpetual need of coffee..

I look around, worried as I realize the more turns I make the harder it could get to find my way back to the group. I sigh, calming down as I relax in the small passage, concentrating on the electric noise and power only I can hear as I listen for the voice again along with hearing murmurs from the group down the tunnel from my tail end. "what to do... I've gotta listen... Gotta find that voice again.. Not sure what else is viable anymore.." I concentrate once more as I hope silently to myself.

"Liz? Is everything okay? I'm going to check that computer... guard the door please." She said nervously as she stepped around the large puddle of blood... that's fucking creepy. She took in the carnage of the room and wondered again... what the fuck happened here. She finally reached the computer and dragged the keyboard over as she examined the screen to see what had caused the computer to beep. Maybe some info was there.

(Alrighty, time to get this ball rolling again)

Chapter 1: Invalid Awakening"

1st Group

Nayeli, Garian, Jenny, Cube(NPC):

Before the creatures could be seen, the door had shut itself completely, sealing whatever was inside of it, inside, never to be seen again, unless they had the right code to open it, but it was highly doubtful they would ever want to go back into that area, who knows what was lurking around in there

Cube:

"Alright, guess I'll be sticking with you guys until we either find a way out of here, or we split ways... Either way, I'm sticking with you all for the time being" The body of the once-floating cube had changed forms, looking almost cybernetic if you will, but still retained a more human-like feature, other than its glowing streaks of yellow on its face, like a circuit board, glowing to the palms of its hands, it then turned around and looked at the group, seeing how many people were here "Okay, it's just us 4... I don't know what happened to that scorpion chick, but I'm sure we'll meet her again... For some odd reason, she and I always get paired up in the same 'Chill-zones' for some reason... But I'm not really complaining, it's good to be able to talk to a face you can recognize... The name's Cube... Nice to meet you all."

Things were looking okay for a moment, then a loud banging sound could be heard from the sealed door, followed by more banging sounds, then a visible fist imprint was seen on the metal, making a dent from the other side of the door, afterwards, silence.

The group gained a new ally(?) and their chances of survival have been increased, but by how much? not a single soul knows

A few minutes after the door was sealed, Garian had regained consciousness, a small headache bugging him, but it wasn't anything big, from his point of view, he could look down the hallway and on the ceiling quicker than anyone else there, if he'd look up right now, he'd see something odd that he hadn't seen before

Available paths to choose from: Left(Starting Area, Room still closed off), Right(Sealed Room)
Available Actions: Look- Up(Ceiling, Garian-Only), Sealed Door(Dented)

2nd Group

Mirasaki, Harcin

The vent was still dark, but using the flashlight was a good idea, Mirasaki was able to see a bit farther down the vent than usual, she could see there was a gap, a mid point between 3 different paths through the vents, one going left, another going straight ahead, and one going straight down, she wouldn't be able to see how far down it was, meaning it could be a long way down, and maybe no way back up without using massive amounts of energy to get back up, one would be wise to pay attention and not fall down there, who knows how much noise they would make from accidentally falling down that shaft

Harcin could see Mirasaki moving on ahead, he could either follow her, wait where he is now, try to find Alice, or try to find the mysterious figure that seemed to look like him, either way, he had to make a move, staying there didn't seem like the best choice of options, even for this particular situation

Alice:

Alice could start to hear the voice a lot clearer now, it sounded as if it was coming from her left leading down the slanted shaft "Help... Me..."
The voice sounded pleading, as if someone really needed help, but it was also suspicious no less
She then could hear another voice, coming from her right, just as loud "This way..." But this voice... It was similar in tone, but it sounded more urgent, as if she were being commanded either way, would she choose the left path to try and possibly help someone in need? Or would she follow the urgency of the voice to her right, leaving a potential victim to their demise? Or would she turn back and find her way back to the others?

Available paths to choose from: Left(Voice(?)), Right, go back

3rd Group

Jessi, Jenna, Mellisa"Liz"

The computer itself seemed fine, when Jessi pressed a key, the screen lit up and showed some sort of command screen-like window showing, it had a command line already typed up on it "Run video file of Experiment Test #523? Y/N"
The computer showed nothing else other than the option to run a video file of old data that was stored on the hard drive, it was up to her to choose to watch it or not, but it didn't seem like there were any speakers around to hear anything, but the speakers were installed into the monitor itself, making it easier without having to do any hunting for anything

Jessi nervously looked around and dimming the sound down on the screen she hit play. She wanted to know what happened... maybe it had something tondo with that horrific puddle of blood sitting in the middle of the room. She steeled her resolve and tapped the Y key. At first it didn't work. She hadn't hit it hard enough and this next time she hit it harder and said,"Liz... Jenna watch." She said meekly as she waited for the video to start.

Her attention drawn to the door, Nayeli looked on cautiously as a groaning symphony rattled through the walls. The eerie noises tickled the dark spots of her imagination, painting images of monsters hauled from the grimmest of fiction. Dread crawled up and down her back, and she shifted backwards as the impression of a fist hollowed out the metal with a loud bang. Then, the noise retreated like a predator returning to its den, until it was at last silent. Numb, she had to restrain herself from shivering as she wondered what they had just avoided. She had seen countless, terrible things in what of her life she could remember, but the unknown was something she had feared since she was a child. The monsters of reality were not nearly as terrifying as the beasts of the mind, though ever since she had woken up here, the young woman couldn't be certain anymore. Uncomfortably aware of her own heartbeat, she turned back to their group, among whom stuck out the strange, cybernetic being. For having just skirted with death or worse, the young woman looked impassive. She had no words or expressions for this situation, which seemed normal to the being -- Cube -- and the mutant woman they had encountered just now. It simply was. It was more important to survive than to debate these horrors, but her struggling mind colored in the unanswered questions as if to stop itself from going insane. The wrong answer, she knew, was often more comfortable than no answer at all. Indecisive, she tried to focus on the matters at hand. After two years surrounded by masked men with a light shining down upon her, she had woken up in a place where the unexpected lurked around every corner.

That was her reality.

Strange to think that it sounded almost reasonable when she considered it that way, past all of the fear and prejudice. But her conscious and unconscious mind reeled at the sights she had tasted so far, like the cybernetic man before her. It -- or rather, he, she upposed -- was something the likes of which she had never seen. She remembered her home planet, and how growing up she had lived closer to nature than the strange and difficult technology that populated the towns and cities. When she had first seen a firearm, she was fascinated and terrified that humanity's minds had wrought such a thing. Yet, by the time the greatest of humanity's works had been introduced to her -- mighty spacecraft, glistening silver cities, miracle medicines and machines with the minds of humans -- she had already forgotten their importance among the flames of war. Perhaps a student would better understand the hopes and ambitions of the men and women who had forged those great works, but she thought even the brightest of minds might be stumped by the sight of Cube. A machine, it seemed, with the personality of a human. Artificial intelligence wasn't entirely unknown to her, but his strange, shapeshifting form was the likes of which she had never seen. Nayeli could not help but ponder his glowing, circuitous body, and wondered if he was as friendly as he looked. Any creation modeled after human nature was flawed for its ability to hate, but perfect for its ability to love. Though she was curious, what concerned her more was Cube's apparent experience with this place. He seemed unconcerned with things that were shocking to most of them, as if this was his norm.

Her questions were many, but she was careful not to jump the gun. Noticing Garian sprawled out on the floor, she immediately walked over to him and knelt down, careful not to disturb him. She had just barely noticed when he had been thrust out of the room, and was concerned that he might have had a concussion. At least distantly familiar with such injuries, she looked him over once, but he did not seem to be particularly injured. Cautious, she placed a hand lightly upon his shoulder as he stirred awake.

"Are you okay?" she asked as he came to his senses. Her normally impassive voice stirred with a hint of concern; she did not want to lose another person to injury. She glanced up at the others. The newly-released girl seemed thankfully uninjured, as well.

"What were those creatures?" she asked Cube once the others had adjusted to the moment. Naturally, she still kept an eye on them. She looked up and down the corridor.

"And... what is this place, exactly? And where is it? It seems to be a medical research lab... but I have never seen anything like this." she half-lied. There was one entity in this world that came to mind when she thought of such horrors.

Unicorp... could it have really been them? she pondered, even though she already knew the answer. The ones who had taken her, she knew. The ones that had changed her life, she knew. And yet she still didn't want to accept it, perhaps irrationally.

"There is also the matter of where to go next. Do you know of a safer area?" she asked as she stood up, assuming Cube familiar with this place. Expecting Garian to be intact, she offered a hand to help him to his feet. The young woman had the distinct feeling that there was nowhere entirely safe, but something was better than nothing, and after having witnessed so much thus far, she wasn't convinced this door alone would restrain all of the threats to their well-being, whatever they were.

"Nice to meet you, Cube." Jenny replies to the circuit-board-looking dude - "Cube," as he called himself - then looks over at the other two people in their group (Nayeli and Garian). "I second that. Whatever was in there, I'm all for moving FAR away from it. By the way, I don't think we've been introduced. I'm Jennifer Spade, but you can call me Jenny." Jenny holds out her hand for a handshake, and asks: "And what are your names?"

Eyes still on the door with her gun out, Liz hears Jessi's words and slowly nods her head. Slowly backing closer and closer to the computer, taking care not to slip in anything like that pile of blood on the floor, she never takes her attention fully off the door since she still doesn't know what the source of that mysterious liquid was. Only once she reaches Jessi and the computer does she split her attention off from the door, taking a look over her shoulder to see what the computer holds. It's just got a prompt right now, so nothing that needs her attention so she turns back to the door she has the gun trained on.

"Think it's anything important?" she says casually. The last time they got any information, it just straight up pissed her off, so she's more than a bit wary about what they'll learn from this, voice in her head's prodding or not.

Jenna takes her attention off whatever she was looking at and moves over to the computer screen that Jessi was tinkering with. She looks at Liz “Let’s hope it’s not another video about one of our unconscious encounters” Jenna says remembering what the last video that she heard was about. She looks around at her multiple personalities surrounding her and instinctively says in her mind or out loud “Can you guys please move farther away… it’s getting sort of crowded in here”

Garian groaned as he awoke and kept his eyes a bit closed, letting the pain subside before opening them and looked up, he heard Nayeli though it sounded distant and merely nodded his head and looked up at the ceiling, wondering what it was, he slowly got on his feet and stood tall to get a better look at it.

Chapter 1: Invalid Awakening"

1st Group

Nayeli, Garian, Jenny, Cube(NPC):

Garian could see a symbol on the ceiling of some sorts, it looked like a combination of a hazard icon mixed with a smiling killer,, then after a few seconds, it vanished, as if it were an optical illusion that happened right before his eyes, but the image itself had somehow been able to burn itself in its mind, and worse of all, it printed itself upon the back of his right hand, though only he could see it, not another soul could even hint at it, if he were to look at cube right now, he would see the exact same logo on its shoulder same outline and everything

Cube:

Cube had smiled and looked at Jenny "It's nice to meet you as well, I'm glad to meet fellow soul-sellers that HAVEN'T been broken... Really, I'm happy to meet you all... That third person back there... I don't know WHAT to say about them... Better them than me I guess? I dunno, I'm just here to repay a debt to someone I owe... Not anyone here I mean... But a debt no less"

Hearing what Nayeli wanted to know was not only tough for Cube to answer, but even it didn't want to go into details about what they had just escaped, but seeing as there was no way around it, the cube had sighed and looked directly at the one who asked the questions "Those creatures were experiments of the guy that put us all here, somehow, they had gotten out and are still being hunted down... They may SEEM like they are somewhat humane... But they aren't... At all... They impregnate every woman they see, and the females convert any man they see, I don't know how they didn't get those things under control as of yet, but they really are starting to piss me off... If they were going to abandon this part of the facility, then they should've at least gotten us out of here... And yea, we're still in Uni-corp..." Cube then stops for a moment, thinking of something to say, but then shakes its head and continues its explanation "Look, we've gotta find one of those doctors and break some answers out of them... They always make sure that the new employees keep us alive and well-fed, only the more crazier and semi-unstable ones are allowed to do experiments much lower than this area... I know this because this body of mine isn't just for a light show... I'm a combat experiment, I'm still part organic, but right now, I'm more metal than anything else... You can thank those bastards for this... It seems you too had sold your soul to them... So to speak... And to answer your question about a safer area? Sorry, I can't say there is one with those blasted bugs running around... And before you ask... They made sure I couldn't scan the area and easily find exits to get out of here... I can bash through these walls without a problem, but we might end up fighting those things... As you have already seen, they can chew through some serious shit to get out of places they don't wanna be in when they have to" The cube then points to a half-eaten control panel that was down a different hall that was close by "Come on, there should be a service-telephone near here, I made sure to remember where it was, in case I should ever not get any reading material like I asked of them... Damn those were some good quiet times I had... It's a shame about Fera though, she was a nice person to talk to... I wonder where she went.. And apparently she likes your friend there, she only kisses someone she wants to live with" With a shrug, the cube starts walking in the direction of where Garian and Nayeli had first woken up "Come on, they should be able to give us some answers if we ask nicely... Just let me do the talking and things will be fine"

2nd Group

(Skipped due to no posts)

3rd Group

Jessi, Jenna, Mellisa"Liz"

Within a matter of seconds, the screen went dark, then lit up with a video player of some sorts, showing a testing room with a single person inside "Day 213... War of Organics and Cyborgs... It's been a number of years... I don't even know anymore... But I've managed to stay hidden within this room... Safe... Away from all the carnage outside... I'm not sure if my co-workers are alive or not... But I'm sure that there have been some people who had escaped... I'm not sure about it... But I hope that this war didn't get out... Even opening a single door to one of the floors above could mean the end of humanity as we know it... I may be a mad scientist... But I'm not a species murderer... I like experimenting on a lot of things... But I make sure that I'm not experimenting on anyone that has loved ones that care for them... It just wouldn't feel alright with my blood... But I've managed to scavenge a replicator and my food and water supply will never cease... It's a good thing that it RUNS on water... Else I'd be fucked... But no less... This war has to be dealt with... I wouldn't want either side to win... But it seems like things are changing... In a much worse way than I had expected... The... The 'Big Bad' as it goes by now... It's toying with the Mother AI... Hell IT made the Mother AI in the first place... So I'm not surprised..." The person looked like a scientist, female to be exact, she didn't look like she cared much, but she still had a hint of fear in her eyes as well, she had taken off her lab coat and set on the back of the chair, which was now on the floor behind them, they had taken a sigh and leaned back in the chair a little, trying to relax "If someone... Or anyone... Were to find this recording... Please... Find a way out of here... But make sure you close it... If you don't.. This war would be taken to the surface... And then everything... Every man, woman, child, plant, beast, fish... EVERYTHING would be taken over and be used..." A loud crash is heard outside of the room, the sound of the hallway that caved in, was being caved in by an explosion "Shit... This isn't good... Either Mother AI or Big Bad is moving in on this sector... I need to find a way out of here and fast..." Then the door swooshed open and a loud saw-like noise could be heard, forcing her to stand up from the sight of something "N-No... Please... I don't want to d-!!" The video had cut out due to the woman hitting the screen hard enough to render it inactive, then the recorder had came back online, but all that was able to be seen were shadows on the wall, next thing, a loud scream followed by a drilling sound, after that, silence, the video ended and went back to a black screen, then the computer itself had clicked and shut down, smoke fuming out of the exhaust fan, but before it went off, the last thing Jessi and Jenna was able to see, that the video was taken only 1 day ago from now

Re: Unicorp: Survival RP IC

Postby napsii » Wed Apr 17, 2013 2:42 am

Having spent her childhood fighting for her life, Nayeli thought there wasn't much that disturbed her. But Cube's explanation, sounding like a horror story, made her pale with dread. It followed that Unicorp would have been the architect of all this. What the cyber-being described sounded almost like a parasite -- a sickness with an intelligence. She clenched her fist, unnerved that they seemed to propagate through the corrupting of others. At this point, it was hard to question the why or the how. If what Cube said was true -- and in this case, she had no choice but to trust his word -- then they had well and truly flown off the deep end. They had created a monster, but let go of the leash. For Unicorp, it sounded reasonable -- their regular order of business, as if it were. But Nayeli knew that for all her experiences, she wasn't fit to deal with something that should have never been more than just fiction. These things sounded like the monsters that were imagined to stalk the darkness, except very real. Wherever this facility was, it had seemingly been overrun by the megacorporation's pet monsters, whatever they were. For the first time, she shivered; cold fear erupted up and down her back, prompting her to turn away from the group. The instinct that had kept her alive through years of torment squirmed at the idea of having to face some indiscriminate... things that seemed to want to rape or kill her. What plagued her the most is that she did not understand these things. Maybe they were mindless, or perhaps they possessed a kind of intelligence. It was difficult to say at this point, but the threat they posed was absolute. She crossed her arms, eyes drifting listlessly down the hallway. What earlier seemed like an innocuous corridor was now looking more like a breeding ground for the skittering creatures.

She blinked, trying to not let her imagination run away.

It was expected that Unicorp would have had a hand in Cube's existence. Technology escaped her, but it seemed only logical that he would have been another of their victims. For what other reason could he have been here, after all? She pondered his enigma, wondering who he had once been. A promise made to someone... he was human after all. She tried to ignore his terminology. Soul-seller. Suddenly, she felt very aware of the presence of Garian and the newcomer, Jenny. Perhaps they and Cube had all sold themselves here, but she never remember being given a choice. She restrained biting her tongue. The memory of her home planet drifting away from her as a shuttle dragged her off into space brought forth a sort of panic. She suddenly yearned for the senseless to go away, but steady breaths kept her from realizing the desperation. In order to survive, she had to stay calm. Cube all but confirmed there were other survivors in this place. When the beasts had attacked, some of the personnel might have been able to salvage their lives. Unicorp was also famed for its selfishness, so she guessed the higher-ranking staff were either alive or had escaped. The rest likely weren't as lucky, but humans were resilient and she had the feeling this facility was large enough that some could have survived. She turned back to the group, ready to move on. Ambitiously enough, the promise of understanding was starting to feel more motivating than the raw fear. With an idea of who to hold culpable, things were starting to make more sense. She was careful not to let her resentment get ahead of her common sense, but having an identity to put to her enemy was reassuring. The chance to speak with Unicorp was unexpected, but there was no better choice than following Cube's suggestion. She wondered how long it had truly been. Cube implied that not only were they kept regularly fed, but that Unicorp had been hiring new employees all the while. It really had been years, it seemed.

"I'm with you." she agreed with Cube. There was no other choice. She glanced at Garian, seeing his fixation on the ceiling. Unsure if he was in thought or just dazed, she ignored it.

"My name is Nayeli." she then introduced herself shortly to Jenny. There was some comfort to be found in getting to know the other survivors, even if it was just a name.

With that, she began walking after Cube. A sudden question sprang to mind.

"How long has it been?" she asked. A brief pause.

"Since this all began, I mean. I read that I had been in here for... years." she clarified.

Jenny's first thought upon being answered was to ask about the whole "soul-seller" comment, but Cube continues talking before she even opens her mouth. What he says is even less comforting: those things from earlier apparently are a bunch of hyper-horny freaks that'll bang anything with the opposite sex's genitals...a thought she can't help but clench a fist at. Bad enough that her hometown's filled with human molesters, but now she has to deal with monster versions? Greeeeaaat...fan-fuggin-tastic. Doesn't help that Unicorp's the one behind this back-door crime against nature, either. Sounds way too much like that one game Greg told her about. Can't remember its name, but she does remember some corporation doing similar things..."Parasol Corp," or something like that...

Then, Cube mentions putting the squeeze on a doc for intel. Heh, she already likes the way this guy...cyborg...thing...whatever thinks.

After trading "nice to meet you" comments with Nayeli and letting Cube answer her own questions, Jenny says: "Alright Cube, lead the way. Anything I can do to help, just lemme know." She then recalls that "soul-seller" comment, and clarifies: "Also, I didn't really go selling my soul. Some thugs bruised me up, and I guess they sold me to these guys...so yeah, I'm itching for payback, 'nuff said."

Garian's eyes widened when he saw the logo appear on his hand and tried to rub it off to no avail, "Wh-what is this?" He groaned and looked over at the Cube and saw he had the same tatoo-esque, "You....you have it too, what is it?" He asked him, showing his hand, "Answer me!"

Jenna shivers at the last part of the video. “We need to move… fast…” She says to Jessi and Mellisa. “Mother Al or Big bad can be anywhere right now but they have left this sector already. I hope she’s still alive somewhere and that loud scream was that of an unfortunate other.” She says with extreme sympathy.

She looks back at her two hallucinatory buddies and listens to their reactions.
